We needed a video to explain clearly and rapidly our offering in an engaging way.

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

I was approached by many similar outfits over several months. Explainer Mojo's message was one of a few that grabbed my attention. When I finally needed such services I got back to them among others. I went for Explainer Mojo as some of the videos in their portfolio were close to what I had in mind, their approach seemed straight-forward and their price-point attractive.

I first gave them a demo of our platform and we discussed verbally the overall concept. At their request I then sent a script. The team went on to create a storyboard based on the script, with several design options. While the team was busy working on the storyboard, they sent several voice samples for us to choose from. Once the the voice-over was approved and the storyboard finalised, Explainer Mojo moved to the animation phase. After a couple of final tweaks it was done.

My only point of contact was founder Ali Hasan.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

The end product exceeded our expectations. It is too early to quantify its impact on our business, but the video looks great.

I found that Explainer Mojo rapidly understood our need and made good suggestions through-out the process. They were overall very professional and reactive.

Explainer Mojo helped us develop an explainer video.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Explainer Mojo created a two-and-a-half-minute video for us. They sourced the voiceover talent and did all of the design and animation required.

The video explains some concepts about financial analysts and the ratings that they produce. This includes explaining who the analysts are, what type of work they do, why they are reliable sources, what their output is, and how the data model of the financial rating looks like.

How did you come to work with Explainer Mojo?

I found them on Upwork and decided to work with them based on their past projects. We engaged in good communication during the first few hours of launching the project proposal.

How much have you invested with them?

We spent less than $2,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working in May 2021, and we finished the project in late June 2021.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

I distributed the animated video that Explainer Mojo produced to ten different people, all with different demographics, ages, gender, and familiarity with the subject. Everybody was very complimentary about how everything was explained very well and how the animations added value to understanding the concepts.

How did Explainer Mojo perform from a project management standpoint?

Explainer Mojo was great, and the communication about the project was positive. Hasan was always available for communication and responded very quickly. He also was very accommodating in making adjustments and changes as we moved through the project.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Their availability and communication were impressive given the time difference between us, which was one of the reasons why I selected them in the first place. They were a pleasure to work with.

Are there any areas they could improve?

I don’t think so.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Have the idea of what you’re looking for as clear as possible. Trying to sort your ideas out while the process is ongoing is challenging for all parties involved and requires more time.

What challenge were you trying to address with Explainer Mojo?

We needed someone to create a marketing video for us.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Explainer Mojo started by asking us what kind of style we wanted for the video. They made some excellent suggestions, so we ended up going with that. The video they created had basic line drawings and our product photographs incorporated into it. We didn’t want it to be animated or too commercial; we just wanted to keep it short, simple, and sensible. 

We also asked them to handle the sound and voice-over because it would’ve been inconvenient for us to look for another vendor. They did two versions of the video, one in English and another in French, which took them over a month each. We’re currently working on another video with them.

What is the team composition?

We’ve only worked with Hasan (Founder). 

How did you come to work with Explainer Mojo?

We reached out after a colleague told me about them. We ended up choosing them because their videos matched our style, and they were cost-efficient.

How much have you invested with them?

We spend €600–€700 (approximately $700–$800 USD) per video. There were some videos where we only needed to change the voice-over to a different language — in that case, they only charged us for the voice-over. 

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working together in November 2020, and it’s still ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

The marketing videos are perfect — Explainer Mojo presented the content quite well, and they did all the key things we instructed them to do. We asked for something, and they came incredibly close. Our distributors are also happy about the videos. The engagement is working out well for us, and the team always meets our expectations.

How did Explainer Mojo perform from a project management standpoint?

The project has been going smoothly. We primarily communicate on Skype — we try to keep most of the conversion text-based because we don’t really have time to get on calls that often. Furthermore, working with just one person is much easier than working with a big team. If I need anything, I can just go to Hasan directly, who is very open to feedback.

What did you find most impressive about them?

I’m impressed by their flexibility and how good everything came out so far. We also appreciate that Hasan is handling all aspects of the production for us, including the voice-over.

Are there any areas they could improve?

No, there’s nothing I’d have them improve.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

My advice is to utilize them for the voice-over, as well; they offer a great package deal that is cheaper than working with two vendors.

What was the scope of their involvement?

They created an animated explainer video for us. We started with a storyboarding period. After we approved that, they animated everything with characters. We were also able to decide on the voice actor’s genders and accents.

It shows our service from a customer’s perspective. The video is slightly longer than a video and it appears on our landing page.

We started working together in January 2021, and we wrapped up in February 2021.

Our team really appreciates the video. Explainer Mojo was really good at translating our aim, especially in terms of what we wanted to convey. The entire process was very smooth. Explainer Mojo exceeded our expectations.

The video is great. I liked that they were completely open to revisions to make sure little details were exactly how we wanted. Their service was definitely above my expectations.
