I hired ExpandX to review my current online marketing strategy. The CEO, Temelko D., took more time than initially scheduled to consult me on many levels since I was using the wrong techniques. I then got an entire brand identity, a website, and a marketing strategy to reach my company goals.

I searched online for marketing agencies to schedule an appointment for reviewing my ideas for marketing. After going through several review pages, I found ExpandX, and this one was the only agency with credible interviews on YouTube.

They interviewed me about my current company situation, what makes my approach so different and how I want to be seen. After answering many questions and providing material to work with, they created a brand identity and suggested many logos, which I picked the best.

The next step was to discuss what pages are suitable for my brand and how to put it into the right perspective. The website was then built successively, and I got involved in many review rounds, so I could influence the direction the design will go.

The final delivery is a multi-paged website with extra pages that truly value my brand. I am satisfied with the extra effort ExpandX has invested in satisfying my needs.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

We haven't set up any measurement tools, and once the marketing campaign is ready, I am sure the sales will increase because of the skilled work about the brand identity and exaggerating my USPs.

We had several meetings every time they achieved a new milestone. We didn't set up weekly appointments because the outcome was obvious, and the project wasn't such big to incrementally involve feedback on a scheduled basis.

Instead, I got informed via email about every change, and they waited for my feedback before going on. They took my criticism and concerns seriously and enhanced the product every time.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

I am impressed with their commitment to really make me happy by giving me the best product they can deliver. Immediately fixes after I've emailed, and 2 hours later, it has been fixed.

The way Temelko D. explains strategies and proving them with his experience and other customers' success stories. He could have said: "Trust us, we do this!" Instead, he took overtime and explained to me exactly why and how they apply certain strategies. I feel in safe hands.

We searched the web, we found them via Clutch, we checked the reviews, did a more thorough research on the company and send them an inquiry. Then we were nicely surprised with the initial approach, the briefs and info we covered for our needs, business and marketing.

We were sent two separate questionnaires to fill in which gave us more context of what exactly we need, how to plan it and execute it. All this along with the very good communication we established with them was a definite decision factor.

We started with the website. This was the first project. Later on once this was completed we moved on the the promotion of the business which covered the design and the digital marketing services which both were packed in project no.2. Both projects had been lead by a project manager and a team working on them. Planing was excellent. Reporting, updates, suggestions, coordination.

We were given few key deliverables for the website at the beginning based on the info we gathered via the brief and focus meetings. Once we decided the direction the work process was very smooth and effective. We used project management tools to coordinate everything. Same was the approach used in the other project related to design and digital marketing services which we initiated once we completed the website.

We had two project managers assigned - one for each of the projects - website development and digital marketing. They respectful managed a team for each of those - web developers, designers, marketing specialists, content and creative experts, UX/UI specialists, etc. The whole process was also managed by the CEO. I think this management process helps a lot for the success of the project delivery. Both for the clients and the vendor.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

The website we got is great and our clients love it. It is fast, modern, minimalist, easy to navigate and browse, have great design and content structure. We see that our clients are using it properly and stay on it more than the usual time set for that. It is also very easy for us to run it from the back end, do updates, change info when and where needed. We are quite happy with the results.

As per the digital marketing services I can say that the same standard of work and professional approach was set for this side of the project too. The team has designed very well-thought creatives, copy and delivered a year-round strategy, separated in yearly quarters each of three months periods. Estimations on reach, KPIs and goals was set.

The technical setting of the communication platforms we agreed to advertise on was delivered with extremely great know-how by ExpandX. Results which we measure at the end by number of leads generated started increasing gradually month by month and continue in that direction now.

We were introduced to ExpandX via another company we have worked with before. Deciding factors are related to the strategy meetings we had in advance when we submitted the brief and also the additional consulting we have worked on prior starting the services execution. The team was very professional at all steps – prior and during the project execution.

We approached them initially with the task of building a website for our main brand – RepEat. We were consulted and presented everything top – to bottom, as we had some specific and custom requests for this project – we were assured how those will be build and what the timeline for those will be.

Once we successfully completed project No.1 with the first website we have also initiated a 2nd one. We have also worked with their copywriters from the USA who delivered engaging and creative texts for our main website.

Timelines were properly set before they begun work on the projects. We constantly received updates on the work progress. Cooperation was great and the project lead managed and coordinated everything. - Online e-commerce shop -> End to end prepared by their team for about a week in total after our discovery call + some corrections. - Market entry & Business strategy consultation -> It was well prepared by Temelko via individual online meetings where we targeted specific pain points and unique selling points ahead.

The collaboration with the team of ExpandX was smooth throughout the whole process. Temelko (the CEO) is fully available for any additional discussions. The whole process was exactly as initially presented on his agenda. The timelines were kept as promised.

Their impressive personal touch is beyond what I am expecting in the workflow. It felt more like boutique experience for me than just to be the next regular client for them. I will definitely approach them again for any future projects!!

I’m the CEO and one of the three co-founders of Innov8. I and my schoolmates followed through on the idea for this company after I got my PhD in a university in Switzerland. We’re in the automotive industry and provide niche-orientated services.

What challenge were you trying to address with ExpandX Marketing & Web?

We were dormant for a year and a half, but because of the COVID-19 situation, we’ve had more time to push our ideas forward. We’ve decided to look for a marketing and web development company that could also offer consulting services, and that’s how we ended up working with ExpandX.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

We are innovating microchips that help optimize data reception for all the verticals and horizontals of car manufacturers. If stakeholders want to improve the quality of the brake system, for example, they could use our IoT solution to transmit data from the vehicle computer to a central point. Since we’re only in the research and development phase, we are working to get more investors and gain wider brand awareness.

After an initial marketing consultation with ExpandX, they sent us a proposal and we started working on the development of our website, which is still ongoing. To further establish our digital presence, we’ve also created social media pages on Twitter, LinkedIn, and Facebook. 

Their team has helped define our company’s complex mission, products, and services, and produced a video presentation that encapsulates all of these, which we use as part of our digital strategy.

We’ve since moved on to contacting potential investors and collaborators who could join our initiative and help grow our idea. We’ve also reached out to prospective clients in Germany, Bavaria, Austria, and Switzerland. 

This particular project is set for six months. At the end of July 2021, we will be revising our strategy based on how the website, social media pages, and overall digital marketing are performing.

The owner of ExpandX is my key contact. I also communicate with the project manager on a day-to-day basis, but I believe there are more people involved who cover web development and the technical aspects of our digital marketing campaigns.

At the beginning of 2021, we were looking for service providers within Switzerland but found them super expensive. We searched for other agencies in Germany, and a friend of mine recommended ExpandX. 

We approached the team with questions about how we could take on our marketing in terms of building the website, managing social media pages, and PR. I was a bit skeptical at first since I only knew them through a personal reference, but after that consultation, ExpandX presented a professional offer that made us decide to work with them.

How much have you invested with them?

Our current contract costs between $50,000–$200,000. This covers the one-off web development project as well as the monthly consultation and implementation services that we receive from them.

What is the status of this engagement?

We’ve been working with ExpandX for four months now. We started working with them in January 2021 and will continue to engage their services until July 2021, depending on our marketing needs.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Our campaigns are still due to launch, so we don’t know yet how ExpandX’s efforts will reflect on our goals. All of our measures for success are quite subjective at the moment, but we’ve become active in the digital world, and everyone whom I’ve shown our website to has given positive feedback. Lately, we’ve also been receiving a lot of attention and interest on LinkedIn because of our posts. This, to me, is an indication that we are definitely doing the right thing.

The owner of ExpadX is always there to answer any questions I might have. The team communicates superbly and gives me advice day after day. 

They push back on our ideas instead of just jumping into everything that we ask of them. I’ve found value in their suggestions when it comes to design, structure, value proposition, and how we could approach potential collaborators.

What did you find most impressive about them?

If we had gone with an agency in Switzerland, we would’ve been paying ten times the amount for far less collaboration. ExpandX, however, has been delivering world-class service for the past four months.

There’s nothing I can think of at the moment.

You definitely need to know what you want not just in the short-term but in the long term as well. Establish concrete goals, like how you want to be positioned in the market within a one-year time frame, or how you want to be recognized by competitors, clients, and partners.

We managed to (in 3 months) change the brand perspective we had in the past - a bit rusty image of a discounts company. This was something we had to deal with. Also, the number of leads generated increased and keep increasing. We also manage to divert people visiting our online stores to also engage with our shops and vice-versa. This brings the engagement levels up and ultimately leads to sales growth.

I’m running a chemicals company operating in Southern and Eastern Europe. I founded it with the aid of an EU project. We manufacture domestic chemical products.

What challenge were you trying to address with ExpandX Marketing & Web?

I was into old-style, traditional marketing, and I knew nothing about the internet and online products. When I was submitting the business plan with the investment bank, I was advised that I’d have to invest in digital marketing.

We needed help with digital marketing, website, strategy, and design, so I started searching for a company that could do all these things for me. I didn’t want to go to one company for the website, another one for marketing, and another for package design.

What was the scope of their involvement?

ExpandX Marketing & Web built my website, and we continued from there. The site presents our services for our investors. From there, they helped us with design, email marketing, and so on. 

They gave me a questionnaire covering website features like map locations—minor things I hadn’t even thought about. The pattern applied for all other projects, including the design team and the email marketer in charge of supplier relations. They advised me on how to harmonize different marketing activities.

They set up a strategy for contacting suppliers on LinkedIn. They designed my logo and all the branding. They designed my newsletter, and they made three marketing videos.

What is the team composition?

I discuss everything with Temelko (CEO). He introduced me to the team in the beginning. I have another point of contact, who manages everything for us. I’ve had meetings with their designer. I didn’t communicate directly with the people doing the website. I gave out all the instructions and revisions to the manager.

How did you come to work with ExpandX Marketing & Web?

A friend told me about ExpandX Marketing & Web. I looked them up on Google and checked out their work. I looked at other companies, but ExpandX was fast in replying to me, and they had good answers to my questions. They invited me to meet with them, and I felt like we had a human relationship from the start. I’m a businessman, and I know that things are done for money, but I didn’t feel like ExpandX was there just to take my money. They had an interest in what I and my business needed.

The communication was very good in the beginning, and their offer was very detailed. I was given a timeline for what would be done and when. A lot of the other companies I contacted didn’t even answer. I felt safe with ExpandX.

The website cost around €3,500 (approximately $4,000 USD), the Facebook and LinkedIn strategy was around €2,000 (approximately $2,400 USD), the business card and packaging design was €1,000 (approximately $1,200 USD), and the videos cost €300 each (approximately $360 USD). The total was around $16,500.

What is the status of this engagement?

I started working with ExpandX in April or May 2020, and the website was done in 3–4 months. We continued with other work from there. I still go to them when I need new business cards or a Christmas calendar.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

I can’t judge the code quality, but I asked all my business partners how they like the site and whether it needed changes. Everyone likes the site, and they think it’s very modern. I’ve referred a few of those people to ExpandX Marketing & Web.

Most companies in my industry have terrible websites, from the past century. What I got was very good, and I’ve gotten some important contracts on LinkedIn through the strategy ExpandX Marketing & Web put together. If I didn’t have a good website and all the pieces weren’t put together, no matter the strategy, I wouldn’t have gotten the partners I have. We’ve managed to contact people in Hungary, Croatia, and Greece, and I've gotten good business there. That’s especially important during the pandemic.

How did ExpandX Marketing & Web perform from a project management standpoint?

They were always communicative, and it didn’t feel like I was being sold something. I was always consulted on what the different projects would be, and everything was divided into micro-steps. I always felt like my business was being taken care of.

Their CEO was always available. If not, he returned my call in a day or two. They always delivered on time, and they always kept me updated.

What did you find most impressive about them?

I was totally unprepared for the digital field, and I felt that I was being taken care of by ExpandX Marketing & Web. My business was in good hands with them.

We had a good working relationship, that’s super important to me. I could never do good business with bad people, or with people who are after quick money. This was exactly the opposite. They were open, caring, and communicative.

I’m really happy with the service, so I couldn’t say. Someone could say they’re expensive, but it’s never been an issue because I received quality results. 

Do you have any advice for future clients of theirs?

I went to ExpandX Marketing & Web with information that would give them context. I didn’t just give them a list of things to do. ExpandX Marketing & Web always engaged with me in a collaborative way. They checked and verified ideas, which required time and resources from me because I know my business niche.

It’s a mutual project. They have very good ideas and knowledge, but, if I left them alone, they probably wouldn’t have been able to hit the target very well. Whoever comes to them needs to think of it as getting an external marketing partner that’s actually a part of the team.

I sent an inquiry and they have sent me a very thorough brief so that they can understand more about our business needs. The project started with a very detailed analysis of ur business needs, the markets we operate at, the audience we target, our products presentation, unique selling points, how we stand against competitors based on various factors, etc. The initial report we received shown perfectly well where we needed to put focus on both with the website and the digital marketing activities to.

The team also design a very well-set strategy for the campaigns and activities we are having in 2021 so that consistency is in place. We are in constant and very effective communication with a project manager of the company and we are keep in the loop of development and results at all time. The team of specialists is working and managing all the campaigns. We receive the ideas initially and once approved they go live.

We also get a full report and decide how to continue with the campaign based on the results. Temelko is always there for us when we need strategic and expert advice on important matters.

We work with the web development department and the marketing department. Both however are managed via one project manager who is our point of contact. They do everything that is needed (web design, web development, video, creative, content, copy, technical set, etc) and it is all reported and communicated to us by the project manager.

I got a message from a former university colleague of mine. Over the years the firm he works at become one among our competitors. He saw the digital "restart" and expansion we were doing and asked me if we have established a marketing team within the firm. That speaks it all. If we are seen by the industry competitors we are making the right moves. We also got a very good flow of inquiries from potential clients. So far the outcomes are very very good.

Again, my point of contact is one project manager. We communicate via e-mail on regular basis. The level of professionalism is very good and the quality of work as well. It is effective and straight to the point indeed.

Please describe your company and your position there.

I am VP of Business Development with the main focus on Marketing and Sales at DCC Furniture Inc. A US company dealing with manufacturing and sales of domestic and office furniture.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

For what projects/services did your company hire ExpandX Marketing & Web?

We were introduced to ExpandX by reference of a friend, of a colleague of mine whose business partner worked with them before. I did not expect that to become such a good intro as we, later on, contracted ExpandX for few services lines we needed professional assistance with. We worked with them on our website development as we needed some technical and web design improvements to be done. As we were looking to expand our e-commerce line of business due to Covid cases boost in the US we also integrated such solutions to the website.

That grew to the development of a whole marketing services pack of services with a focus on e-commerce and lead gen. The services included are video marketing and video ads production, google ads campaigns, Facebook corporate page management, blog articles creation, and creative design for our visuals used in digital and print formats.

What were your goals for this project?

We basically were looking for a more sophisticated and professional digital presence, online image improvement, and more effective online engagement with our potential and existing clients. All that had the goal of steady business growth in 2021, and at least to maintain 2019 sales volumes in 2020 as well. We were looking to improve the online arm of the business as we saw a declining trend with the physical distribution and stores we used to work with.

I mentioned that at the beginning above. We found them through a reference of someone who they worked with before.

Describe the project in detail.

Again I would separate that in two - the website dev and improvements there as well as all the other marketing activities. I gave a detailed overview of what we needed and what the goals are in my previous answers.

What was the team composition?

There are different specialists involved in the different projects. We communicated mainly with a project manager but there are web developers, marketing experts, digital ads specialists, and designers involved as well.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

We got what we were looking for in Q3-4 of 2020. This was vital for us as the business climate in the US was not at its best due to many circumstances. Digital presence gave us the boost we needed and set the layout for the business growth we are aiming for in 2021. This all comes down to the steady flow of customer inquiries which are relevant to what we offer as products and services and also a much better digital image of the company.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

Very effective. They managed the website development projects, the strategies, and the campaigns super effectively. Very transparent and easy communication.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

'They really know what they are doing no matter if it is a marketing or web development-related task. I was impressed to see that they do not come up with standard answers and always to blindly say yes to what we asked for. They actually analyzed our goals, needs, the market, the competitors and notified us on matters we haven't been taking into consideration before. They really worked as our business partners I would say. This is truly a rare asset to have along.
