What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

The project had zero defects when went live. The pages were very responsive both in performance and the UI. The backend admin portal helped manage the data easily with user-friendly screens. There were very minimal change requests since the EX Squared had all the screens done in Figma before coding.

The project was delivered on-time and within the budget. They were very well-versed in the technical architecture and the technical standards for this project before hand. They presented mockups for each screen and explained the flow in the screens and got our approvals before coding. This minimized the change requests in the project.

The talent pool of EX Squared was the best among all other vendors we evaluated. Their portfolio was also very impressive. We interviewed their resources individually and we were convinced that they are the best resources for this project.

We needed help implementing our new digital asset management (DAM) solution, including integrating the DAM with our website.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

EX Squared has integrated our Bynder DAM with our website, which is built on the Optimizely CMS. The team has built the integrations and converted all the existing image links on the website to links from our new Bynder DAM. EX Squared implemented our CMS for our new website the previous year. EX Squared continues to provide ongoing support for our Bynder and Optimizely integrations. The team has fully documented the requirements for the project.

We found them through a referral. We have a long-standing history with EX Squared; they know our business and our processes very well.

We worked together from August 2024 to April 2025.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

The conversion of our assets throughout the website is our key success indicator. We’ve tracked our total volume of assets; we have approximately 250,000 assets to convert to the new DAM, and at least 100,000 are utilized throughout our website.

We had some struggles during the go-live website conversion, but the EX Squared team has worked non-stop to ensure we didn't experience any front-end user experience issues. The team has spent about 72 hours on our full launch schedule, converting our site across each operating division individually and checking our progress.

This project is a huge undertaking with a very high volume of assets. Converting all the assets and maintaining the metadata, including website alt text, is a key component. We needed to avoid rework as much as possible, and EX Squared has made that possible.

How did EX Squared perform from a project management standpoint?

EX Squared’s project team delivers on time and is upfront about any timing concerns. Although they’re a global team, the team makes themselves readily available to support our efforts despite conflicting time zones. We primarily communicate through virtual meetings and Slack.

What did you find most impressive about them?

The team’s dedication and commitment to their work with us are unparalleled. Their knowledge of our business and industry lets them hit the ground running on our projects. They do a great job maintaining their team resources; we aren’t constantly bringing a new team up to speed on our needs, which saves a tremendous amount of time. Overall, their knowledge base is extraordinary.

What challenge were you trying to address with EX Squared?

We needed help with UX/UI design and development.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Our project had three phases. In the first phase, EX Squared conducted a UX/UI sprint designed to flesh out the concept and get an initial 12–15 screen prototypes in development in a clickable manner to do user testing and feedback.

Then, the second phase was the UX/UI iteration sprint. EX Squared took the feedback from the users who participated in phase one and incorporated that feedback to make changes before going back to more user testing.

The third and final phase was development. EX Squared took the components that were created from the sprint and put them into a library in which our development team could begin to build.

We had 5–10 individuals who went through some user testing and provided us with feedback. We got great results from that. In general, we were very impressed with EX Squared's professionalism, quality insights and work, and ability to stay on time, task, and budget. They produced high-fidelity prototypes with very talented designers who understood UX/UI and how that should come together. I was extremely pleased with the entire project.

How did EX Squared perform from a project management standpoint?

EX Squared's project management was exceptional. We had a number of different environmental challenges due to power outages and the weather. Our team and their team collaborated remotely to stay on deadlines and deliverables even through some challenging timing.

Throughout it all, their communication and project management were stellar. We used Miro, which is an integrated design tool that helped us with communication, prototyping, and those types of things. We also used Google Meet for communication and collaboration. Communication was also mainly through email.

What did you find most impressive about them?

I was most impressed with EX Squared's professionalism. They were very deadline-driven and delivered high-quality work. Their insights, analytics, and tools were excellent. The quality and output of their work were exceptional.
