I worked as a partner manager and brought eSynergy in to fill some capability gaps, to help us develop our own strategic capabilities and to advise us on some complex situations. Their deliverables varied from project to project - sometimes very outcome based, sometimes deliverable based and even purely advisory

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

1. There are projects and programmes of significant value that we would have been unable to support without the fine brains of the eSynergy teams.
2. We have also delivered things in shorter timeframes so that value for money has been high.
3. We have developed capabilities in house with eSynergy's support that allow us to be more self sufficient in some areas. When you look at eSynergy with a cynical eye you think a number of things
   1. They're just an agency - THIS IS NOT TRUE. Despite a model that uses a wide network of contractors they are committed to people working together multiple times - this means a good understanding of working together and pre-formed teams that can be exceptionally high performing
   2. Their day rates are high -THEY ARE BUT VALUE FOR MONEY IS GREAT - a smaller team of folks from eSynergy will achieve more and faster than just about anyone else - they pride themselves on doing less to achieve the same outcomes for clients
   3. This talk about being paid on value is hot air - IT'S REALLY NOT - customers often find it hard (particularly procurement departments) to contract in this way but if the eSynergy team could be paid on you achieving your objectives - 100% of the time that is what they would go for I have never come across such an amazing network of talented people and cannot recommend eSynergy highly enough

As partner manager I can only go on the feedback from the teams on the ground which was always excellent

A genuine interest in solving your problems - coupled with the competence of their network and the confidence to take payment for value delivered if that is what you want. Also a great bunch of people

Are there any areas for improvement or something esynergy could have done differently?

The payment for value concept is a nut that no-one has really cracked - eSynergy remain committed to finding a way of doing this, but its not always clear how that will work, which can make it hard to buy this way - overall though the willingness to explore this tells you all the good stuff you need to know

We wanted to use the community edition of Hashicorp Vault hosted in our AWS regions across the globe. However we wanted to enhance the out-of-the-box features to provide equivalent or better feature set as the professional edition. 

The non-functional requirements were very demanding as this service was going to be used by over 50 production SAAS services that we provide. It would be mission critical and therefore need absolute availability (dial tone availability) and to work globally with low latency across our global foot print.

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

• All outcomes and goals that were set at the beginning of the project were fully met. 100%.

They were largely self managing, working along side our own teams. They injected the right amount of subject matter expertise with the Vault project. The same esynergy team were able to operate on multiple levels from architectural planning levels write down to cutting the code. I think this was the key difference with other suppliers we have used.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

Small teams, operating at a variety of different levels. From advising myself as CTO, to working with my architecture teams to ensure that the solution would meet the specified NFR and quality criteria, to coaching the developers and writing parts of the solution themselves.

To implement a developer platform that significantly improves devops capabilities. To take devops beyond automation but also look at organisational dynamics that prevent frictionless delivery. A developer platform delivered and treated as a product that reduced technology complexity automated away Topo and reduced handoffs was required within 6 months of the completion of a discovery phase

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

Regular deployments of working software was the primary measure. However we also tracked a roadmap and open access to a shared board and tickets. Was also provided with weekly reports both in writing and in a meeting

This was an agile delivery which followed the roadmap we collaboratively generated and iterated. It was very user focused and responded immediately to user needs
