Essential Content helped us manage our PR presence in the UK market. As a Danish company founded in Copenhagen, we had no further knowledge about the market of UK. We needed their valuable support to help us gain presence and create stance in a highly competitive market.

Essential Content had short deadlines coming from us and managed to secure coverage within a three month period. No matter the short deadline, they managed to provide us coverage and put a great deal in understanding our needs and strategic mindset very promptly. We were highly impressed by their flexibility and easy understanding in a very complex project.

Essential Content were highly professional and managed to answer day by day, which we really saw as valuable acting in a high paced enviroment. They were professional, quick, always on point understanding our fundamental needs for the project.

The team is devoted and put pride in their work. I sensed from the very beginning that Sean and his team really went all in, and wanted to show how far they would go for our company. Our budget was not the biggest, but this was no hurdle or problem, as they saw it as a great opportunity to showcase just how great their work is. It is rare for me to have a company work with such great values and with such a nice attitude towards other start-ups.

Are there any areas for improvement or something Essential Content could have done differently?

The improvement is all on us. We should have given Essential Content some longer deadlines and our basic learnings are to trust the process and let the professionals do what they do well. I think I can honestly say we were too much into the work and created unnessecary pressure to the agency.

We saw a significant increase in organic search for our product that aligned with the dates we got media coverage. We feel that this project achieved its objective of raising brand awareness and the increase in organic search has also helped to reduce our ad budget.

The PR we did also helped us to shape our brand more as we had input into the positioning and messaging and it helped to showcase the innovation in our business.

PR can have a reputation for being all smoke and mirrors, but we found Essential Content to have a no-nonsense approach that delivered firm results, they were approachable and happy to take questions and talk through strategy which was very helpful as PR is a relatively new area for us.

Are there any areas for improvement or something {provider_name} could have done differently?

I would not hesitate to recommend Essential Content as I think they are very results-driven, have a good culture, and are great to work with. I do think that for PR to work at its best it requires some good assets like copy and images to work with so my only feedback was that they might benefit from being more demanding with clients and setting firmer expectations around this!

Essential Content got us featured in Yahoo! News, which generated clicks to our website. They earned us traffic, but I don’t have precise numbers. Thanks to Essential Content PR coverage, we received more inquiries, including one from a major ridesharing company that became a client. That was really encouraging. The quality of their work was very good. 

We still chat with the founder to this day. I hold him in high regard.

They did very well; there were no issues. Essential Content was very honest. Communication was simple via email and Google Docs.

We have gotten much more coverage, around 5-6 pieces per month from highly relevant sources. The ability to position our CEO as a thought leader in the industry is highly beneficial to our brand image.

The communication is good. They are always available for a talk and answer readily to emails as well.

Essential Content successfully secured over 70 pieces of high quality press coverage for Ostereo including with NME, Smooth Radio, Metro, Sky News and key trade publications. They were also able to secure several radio appearances for Ostereo's team in both National and Local stations.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

Very effective. They were transparent and highly communicative. They also demonstrated that they could be reactive to feedback, any changes to the shape of the campaign, and highly responsive.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

Essential Content removed a lot of the shiny 'lack of substance' that you can typically receive from agencies of this nature. They exceeded our expectations and did so while being mindful of our commercial aims and objectives.
