I’m the CTO of a US-based consulting firm in the field of blockchain and advanced technology development.

What challenge were you trying to address with Epix Mobile?

We needed to increase our mobile app development team to deliver projects in due time. Our team worked with Epix for their mobile developers to help us finish two projects.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Both projects were built from scratch. Epix was involved from the start for one of the projects. For the other, we already had an initial version, and they provided us with some resources to help us make improvements to the product. 

Both deliverables were apps interacting with the blockchain. They had mobile wallets and transaction histories for end users. Apart from that, they had investment elements in them; one was directed to art investment, and the other allowed people to have different portfolios and ways to make passive income. 

The products were mobile apps for Android and iOS. Epix used Kotlin and Swift; for blockchain, we used Beyond on a BNB chain. 

What is the team composition?

We were in direct contact with the manager, and they provided us with an iOS developer. I didn’t interact directly with the second developer. 

How did you come to work with Epix Mobile?

I’ve known their founder since before he started the company. When I was looking for vendors, I remembered Epix and thought about talking to them regarding the projects to see if they had people available to collaborate with us. That was how we began working together. 

How much have you invested with them?

We invested around $25,000. 

What is the status of this engagement?

The engagement lasted from July–October 2022. We expect to work with them again.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

Epix’s communication was good, and their introduction was great. They managed to familiarize themselves with the projects in less than two weeks. Our iOS lead said their code was clean and nice. 

The team needed to get accustomed to blockchain-related technologies, but they onboarded and delivered quite quickly. As a result, we didn’t have any issues in terms of delays from their side. 

How did Epix Mobile perform from a project management standpoint?

We managed the projects ourselves, but they got accustomed to the way we developed the projects fast. They were great — I was positively impressed, and that didn’t happen often. We used Jira for project management and Slack for communication. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

Epix has a plan-oriented attitude. They are doers — the type of people I never heard complaining. On top of that, they have great common sense. Overall, they care about delivering. 

Are there any areas they could improve?

No, there weren’t any. They were flexible, so I couldn’t say anything negative.

I am the manager of the engineering division which includes software and hardware research and development.

For what projects/services did your company hire Epix Mobile, and what were your goals?

We wanted to develop a mobile app for our users to interact with a bike rental system. Our goal was to create an app to ease the process of rent-a-bike by renting a bike or multiple bikes with the phone.

SOLUTION

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

We searched an team who could develop an app on all available mobile platforms and also with experience in developing a solution for backend. When we searched they met our needs regarding the knowledge about our desired system.

Describe the scope of work in detail, including the project steps, key deliverables, and technologies used.

We had a series of meetings to discuss our goals and objectives. We had an system which was in a development and the requirements changed a lot until first release. They delivered the first release on a preview site. They implemented a system which gave a lot of debug info and base on that feedback and also feedback from customers we improved the system.

How many resources from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?

Their CEO was in touch with us as the main point of contact throughout the project. Additionally, i most interacted with an Android developer, an iOS developer and a backend developer.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

Within a season we saw over 3K unique customers for the preview site only. Also there was an release containing new features and bug fixes almost every one or two months.

Describe their project management style, including communication tools and timeliness.

The project manager was easy to communicate with and provided frequent updates. We had a lot of online meetings and phone calls but most of the feedback was through our software management app. Some of the features was delivered on time and some of them was related to some unconventional stuff where needed a lot of research but we did it anyway.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

Their mobile app development skills managed to meet our requests. Also when the device needed to work with specific custom hardware.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

They was a team which adapted our needs and if they can improve something is the workflow of development.

I had interview with 5+ designers. And I liked how the company was communicating

I gave a scheme and list of tasks. The designer from the company were sending me a design and were asking about changes. Usually i really liked the job that he did, so there wasn`t a lot of changes

AWESOME! The guys are brilliant. I found Epix Mobile when I was looking for a new design my app. And i am super happy about this. Cristi is a wonderful designer. He made everything that I asked, and bring new good ideas for my project.

Very effective. Actually, designer were understanding me from a half word.

To have a useful and user-friendly application.

We heard about them from another person and we decided to contact them.

TODY is a mobile app designed for new parents to help them cope more easily with the day to day challenges.

It provides a digital agenda that helps to document the baby’s daily activities and it is able to offer real, verified medical information with regard to the baby’s health.

What was the team composition?

We were 3 co-founders in the team and 1 developer.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

Not yet.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

We worked pretty easy with Epix Mobile team. We established with them some weekly meetings at the beginning in order to put together all the application details. Afterward, we communicated when was necessary.

Their ability to transform your ideas in a nice application.
