Empat has developed an app for Android and iOS based on my interface designs. Initially, I showed them the screens I wanted the app to have and how it should run. Empat and I have started with an NDA and a discovery call to understand what I wanted the app to do and how I imagined it to work, and Empat provided feedback, which was very useful.
We had a kick-off call and signed the contract, which they adjusted per my requests.
The app is a camera app that links users with other people for shared albums they create together. When a user takes photos or videos through the camera, the other person has immediate access to those photos and videos. Users can also make a customized and shareable checklist.

The quality of Empat's work has met my expectations, and I'm delighted with the app's quality; it looks like a professionally-made app.

The project has been on budget. I've had some additional requests, and Empat has been on top of everything. We haven't had to deal with anything out of our control that needed more hours to pivot. The team has taken those costs themselves and hasn't asked me to pay more.
We had to delay the app's release slightly because I wanted to do extra things, and something that was out of our control. However, I haven't had issues because I'm not rushing. We've gone back and forth with the app, but everything has been clear, professional, and timely.
Empat updates me on the progress with weekly reports, so I don't need to chase anyone. The team has also shared a three-page slide deck report through email.
We had many video calls at the beginning of the project, where the team understood what I wanted the app to do and how I wanted the screens to look. After that, we had calls twice a week, which became weekly calls. Now, we mainly communicate through email or WhatsApp.

After reviewing the legacy backend and confirming its quality, we jointly decided to rewrite it in Laravel to align with our long-term technology strategy. 

The scope covered: 
• Product discovery and logic workshops: multiple brainstorming sessions to validate streaming flows, monetization rules, and user roles. 
• Backend re-architecture & redevelopment: complete rebuild in PHP Laravel, including database redesign, API development, and real-time streaming support logic. 
• Core streaming features: development of a multi-format streaming system supporting private 1-on-1 sessions, location-based global requests, streamer monetization through public and private requests, and external-device streaming (e.g., drones). 
• Integration with existing frontend: ensuring compatibility with the partially developed client-side app and improving API consistency. 
• QA and stability work: functional testing, regression testing, test case creation, performance and load testing, and preparation for MVP launch.
