What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

We do product development so it is not a project with a clear end and a goal.

But we still had the goal to improve the product under 2024 to be able to handle more customers with the same support staff. Which we mostly achived.

One clear goal was to reduce the time it take to set up the system for a new customer from 2-3 days to 1 hour. We are now down to 45 minuter. 

We have the goal to phase out a older process of video transcoding and transfer for all platforma we have an integration with.  We have done 7 of 10 so far but at the same time integrated 2 new streaming platforms

I’m the co-founder and CEO of TechVision Global. We are a software engineering and consulting company in the US. Our software engineering team is located in various countries.

We were building a mobile application for one of our clients, and we needed someone to help us with QA testing as soon as possible. Hence, we hired ELITEX.

ELITEX has provided us with a highly skilled QA engineer. Their engineer makes sure that everything works properly on the front- and backend, as well as on the mobile website.

The main challenge we had was finding excellent engineers to help us build our platform.

Currently, we employ nine engineers from ELITEX. Additionally, Richard (Client Partner) and Oksana (QA Engineer) are our main points of contact.

How did you come to work with ELITEX?

One of our early investors found ELITEX. When I joined the project, these investors introduced me to them and other different firms that offered similar capabilities. I had very good initial conversations with Richard, in which he provided me with a lot of information about ELITEX’s resources, as well as their resumes and background. They seemed to be a very competent company and a good match for what we were looking for.

We started working together in August 2021, and our engagement is ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

ELITEX’s involvement has been critical for the success of our company. They’ve helped us grow significantly, and we’ve increased our size by fivefold in less than a year. Additionally, they offer us QA services, and their QA team is phenomenal. We have biweekly releases, but we very rarely find unknown bugs due to the competency of their team.

How did ELITEX perform from a project management standpoint?

ELITEX’s project management is great. I met with Oksana and Richard on a biweekly basis, and they’re very well-connected with the rest of their team. Additionally, the resources we work with are very integrated into our team, acting as part of our organization.

We primarily communicate via Slack with the individual resources and have daily video calls with the entire team. We also communicate with Richard and Oksana through video calls, and we use email as needed.

What did you find most impressive about them?

ELITEX is very in-tune with our business needs. They’ve been with us through our early stages, helping us grow from a startup to a more mature company and providing us with the resources we need.

Furthermore, ELITEX has an excellent screening process for the new positions available we might have. They always do a very extensive technical screening so that, when I get on the phone with the candidates, there’s already a high level of confidence that they have the skillsets that we need. This process helps us shorten the time it takes to onboard new resources because our initial conversations with the candidates revolve around finding out if they’re the right fit for us instead of focusing on their experience and skillsets.

Are there any areas they could improve?

I can’t think of anything that ELITEX could improve on — we’re very happy with their services. They’re from Ukraine, and despite these turbulent times for them, they’ve stayed committed to our project.

Ensure that you have a very clear definition of the positions you’re looking to fill. ELITEX has a wide variety of resources available, so they need specific details to provide you with resources with the right skillsets.

We’ve seen some great results. The application has been developed according to the design and requirements that we provided Elitex with. Currently we are finishing the first version of the application and we plan to release it to end users very soon.

Our usual workflow included stand-ups with the team twice per week and using Jira for managing tickets. Apart from that, we communicate per email or Skype if there is something that we need to clarify.

We’ve been able to develop an up-to-date application through our collaboration. What I really appreciate about Elitex is that along with their great technical expertise, they are really flexible and provide service that meets our needs in the best possible way.

We hired Elitex to build a UI for our web solution. Later on, we extended the team and also grew our backend team with them.

We have done a thorough research on the internet and after a series of interviews I decided that Elitex is the partner we would like to continue working with.

We had a kick-off meeting to discuss what we want to achieve and how we could come together. The chemistry was good right away, so we quickly chose to work together. Technologies include angular and typescript in the frontend and the spring boot stack in the backend using Java and Kotlin.

We are working with a team of five people: two Front-end developers, one Back-end developer, one project manager and one Dev-Ops engineer.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

Elitex increased our time spent working on new features and helped us decrease the time between mile stones.

We have stand-ups with the team every day and use Jira for managing tickets. They are also pretty responsive in Slack: once we have any questions/requests, they answer and handle them right away. We have 1 demo call per 2 weeks where we review the work that has been done. Every Monday we plan the work for the week ahead.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

What I really appreciate about Elitex is their aptitude for problem-solving in a proactive way. Our developers have great technical expertise and always come up with the most suitable UI solutions that would satisfy our needs. In addition to that, they are very responsive and helpful in accommodating our needs and preferences with regards to project work. We are able to quickly scale our teams in a timely fashion with very good matching developers. I also very much appreciate the nice office and work environment for our developers which is very important to us.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

There is always room for improvement for everything, but nothing specific comes to mind.

We are a startup building a new kind of learning and development platform that lets users try the tasks as they are learning about them while giving companies more granular visibility in to their performance. I am the founder and CEO of the said startup.

For what projects/services did your company hire ELITEX?

I had built out a beta version of the product as much as I could without professional developers working on it. I needed to create a custom-ready version of the product.

What were your goals for this project?

The solution needed an in-browser excel emulator, course creation and management capabilities, and reporting functionality. I was fairly flexible on tech stack, but the team is using Node and Angular for the application.

How did you select this vendor?

I did a fairly robust vendor selection process when I hired Elitex. Over the course of two to three weeks, I interviewed 20+ dev shops and created a rubric of what I was looking for in a partner. Of all the teams I interviewed, Elitex was the best technically by far and I felt confident building with them and that I could continue to work with them as my company grows.

Describe the project and the services they provided in detail.

They designed and developed a revamp of the products' beta version. They are responsible for the full tech stack from managing AWS to Frontend development. We have bi-weekly sprints where I provide guidelines and guidance on what they're building.

What was the team composition?

The project had two developers, one of which is part-time, and a dedicated project manager. I anticipate expanding that as my company grows.

Can you share any information that demonstrates the impact that this project has had on your business?

Since working with this new dev team, I have begun doing several demos and started to secure interest from my first set of customers. The results so far have exceeded my expectations. While I give direction and know how I want the product to look, the Elitex team is a true thought partner for me as I think about building a tech platform that I can build a company on.

How was project management arranged and how effective was it?

Project management was very effective. The team is responsive and get work done in a timely manner. We primarily communicate through Skype and used Trello to track tasks.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

I like their holistic nature approach to our engagement. I have a moderately technical background but nowhere near the level of a professional developer. With other vendors, when I made a suggestion or had an idea they would always just agree with my idea. The Elitex team will often suggest alternatives that are best practices based on their deep experience.

Are there any areas for improvement?

I, honestly can not think of anything that I would want to change about their performance so far.

I’m the VP of technology at an enterprise label company. We create end-to-end solutions from data capture to creating and printing the final product.

What was the scope of their involvement?

They took our requirements and built the UX technology and frontend of our product. Their team also rebuilt our briefing tool using AngularJS. They built the application in conjunction with our engineering team. Over time, they brought on additional developers with expertise including QA engineers. We now have a full-stack team.

There was a project manager on the team in addition to the team of developers.

We found them through an internet search. We had them do a proof of concept project to test out their abilities. As they gave us more confidence, we provided them with more work and responsibilities.

We started working together in mid-2017, and our relationship is ongoing.

We’ve seen some great results. We built a rule engine editor which was a complicated project, but they worked with us to come up with a unique solution.

They use several project management tools so we can track their progress. They were responsive and timely throughout the engagement. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

They’re willing to take on complex projects. They work with us to refine our ideas and requirements so we end up with a good product. We’ve been able to develop cutting edge software through our collaboration. 

Are there any areas they could improve?

In the early stages of our relationship, we had some small issues with communication since they work remotely. However, that has since worked itself out. 

Do you have any advice for potential customers? 

I recommend engaging with them and building a collaborative relationship, rather than just giving them a list of requirements.

I’m a software architect for an Israeli company that’s developing radio-access networks related to cellular technology. We make fully virtualized LTE base stations, with all the functionalities residing in software.

What challenge were you trying to address with ELITEX?

We needed help with the development of a network management system. We started up with hardware and low-layer software, so creating a web system was new to us.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Initially, one person helped us, and after the proof of concept went well, we decided to develop a product from scratch. We were using Grafana, and just added custom menus to it initially.

They’ve developed a web application and backend for a network management system. The frontend was developed on AngularJS and the backend on Django Python. We’re using a MySQL database and InfluxDB as a time series database, as well as Apache Kafka and Redis.

What is the team composition?

We’ve been working with a team of five people from ELITEX, on average. That’s included back and frontend developers, working on different data pipelines.

How did you come to work with ELITEX?

First, I made a small proof of concept myself, then I started looking for freelancers on Guru.com to help me modify the frontend. Through good luck, I found ELITEX.

We now have a commercial product in place, so it’s a success from my point of view. We’re developing the second generation of our network.

We’re using Jira, and we have an on-site product manager now, who’s part of their team. They’re very serious about deadlines and quality, and I’m pretty happy with them.

What did you find most impressive about them?

I was impressed by their handling of the project, especially considering its out of our usual work. We have a team of 5–6 dedicated people, but their company is much bigger, with a technical exchange always ongoing. If my team doesn’t know something, they can get ideas and advice from other ELITEX employees, which works really well.

Are there any areas they could improve?

There’s nothing I can think of. I’m quite happy with them. If there’s a need to hire someone, they do it quickly.

ELITEX provides outsourced development services when we look to expand our platform or add features.

What was the scope of their involvement?

ELITEX currently serves as a frontend developer for our website, which features Elasticsearch and utilizes HTML, CSS, and Angular. In the past, they’ve also provided backend development work using Node.js, Express, and MongoDB. Our website is deployed using AWS.

What is the team composition?

Our team size changes based on the workload. We currently work with one full-time frontend developer, but over the years, we’ve worked with 5–6 developers for backend tasks, DevOps, and testing.

How did you come to work with ELITEX?

ELITEX responded to our message on Guru.com. We tried multiple freelancers and other companies, but ELITEX provided the most consistent work, so we decided to stick with them.

We’ve spent about €100,000 (approximately $112,800 USD).

We hired them in 2017 and have worked with them ever since.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Working with ELITEX has been more cost-effective than hiring internal resources. The quality of their work is significantly higher than what I would be able to find if I hired within the Netherlands for the same price.

How did ELITEX perform from a project management standpoint?

My CTO handles the bulk of the project management responsibilities. We communicate online through Pivotal Tracker, Slack, and Skype, but it’s almost as if they work in the same office. Our communication methods are quite useful.

What did you find most impressive about them?

ELITEX can quickly scale the team up or down to meet our needs. They’re very flexible in that regard. If we tell them we need specific resources for a project next month, they recruit the people that we need, and it only takes a few days to get them up to speed. ELITEX prepares and mentors all of their employees well.

Are there any areas they could improve?

No, we’ve had a positive experience with them.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

If future clients structure their engagements as we have structured ours—not having ELITEX control the project management—it is critical that they have proper QA measures in place aside from what ELITEX provides. We check all of their work before we commit to implementing it.

I was the director and a business partner of a cybersecurity company that focused on next-generation technologies, both at the end-point and network level.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What challenge were you trying to address with ELITEX?

First of all, we needed help with technology development. We had the code in place for the main brains of the platform, but we still needed experienced engineers that we could trust and rely on for the rest.

We’d used services like Upwork for many of our contractors, but we wanted a long-term partner to help us as we grow. At the same time, we didn’t want to pay exorbitant prices to a specialized company.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

They got involved in several parts of the work, across multiple projects. We disseminated the technology to be back- and frontend-based.

From a frontend perspective, we were able to enhance the product and get it to market quickly. They touched on different facets of it and gave us an idea of how it could be improved. This second pair of experienced eyes really helped us fine-tune the technology.

On the backend, the technology needed to talk to our cloud operation. ELITEX helped us build not only the cloud part in conjunction with our own engineers and scientists but made the connections with the frontend technology. At the same time, they helped us create a graphical UI from scratch. As a cybersecurity company, we opted for fully custom solutions.

What is the team composition? 

We had one main contact, who was a C++ genius. There was also a team assigned to the UI development and some people building out and maintaining the network solution using Python. Our chief scientist was heavily involved in terms of the technologies used and provided oversight.

How did you come to work with ELITEX?

We had countless interviews with engineers, including the principal at ELITEX. I could converse freely with him, and he understood what our goals were. He was also open and willing to allow us a paid trial period with no contractual obligations. 

We weren’t willing to throw money out on engineers that delivered sloppy, incomplete work, so we tested the waters, and were given a part-time resource. We were happy with what we achieved there, so we decided to hire them, and then a second, third, and fourth resource.

How much have you invested with them?

The cost per year was $150,000 or just below. 

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working with them around 2016. The project completed in 2018, but we continued working with them on enhancements and updates based on new OS releases.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We didn’t actively track statistics, but ELITEX was superior to other engineers in every sense of the word. We were able to converse with their principal by either email, text, or phone calls whenever required, which made a big difference. They’re a professional outfit, not a team of freelancers working from their homes, which was what we needed.

How did ELITEX perform from a project management standpoint?

They were very responsive. Although they managed the payroll of the resources we hired, we maintained contact as though those people were employed by us. We were able to develop methods for storing code securely and then using it for any new releases and changes. That meant we always had something to reference for documentation later on. 

Their owner was always available to help with business items. We were based in different parts of the world, which meant that we could do our work during the day, and they’d continue working throughout the night. Building products from scratch is a slow battle, so it was good to achieve things that even multibillion-dollar businesses struggle with, at a fraction of the cost.

What did you find most impressive about them?

The value for money was the most important item for me. I’m sure there are comparable businesses out there, but I felt that ELITEX was good for what we needed, as a small, bootstrapped business.

Are there any areas they could improve?

We did change one engineer, but it was more to do with our budget. They came back and helped us find the right person quickly.
