Edisonda conducted research with potential users of our system. As a result of this research, we were able to gain a more detailed understanding of the processes and needs that accompany companies struggling with the problem of non-payment of invoices.

At the same time, they allowed us to assess which of the previously planned functionalities meet these needs and which are the most relevant. On this basis, Edisonda then drew up an information architecture and functional mock-up screens for a system that will allow companies to control the level of indebtedness of their counterparties and manage invoice payment notifications. The programming of the system was on our side.

• The quality and accuracy of both the delivered test report and the functional mock-ups was very good. Additional information to facilitate programming was provided not only during the interviews, but also on the mock-ups.

EDISONDA was hired to design and implement the new SharePoint Online intranet portal for GT Sweden, using the Grant Thornton Sweden branding guidelines. The main goal of the intranet solution was to provide users with company news, to-do items, press releases , and proprietary Grant Thornton Sweden content in the SharePoint Online environment.

Solution delivery was accompanied with content migration from the existing Grant Thornton Sweden intranet portal built on EPI Server. EDISONDA provided information architecture as well as functional and graphic design of the website. SharePoint implementation partner of EDISONDA - Computer Plus – led and oversaw both the implementation as well as data migration processes.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

SharePoint Online intranet portal for Grant Thornton Sweden has been successfully implemented. The project reached all its goals. Communication in the process was carried out efficiently even though, as in the case of every intranet product, there were many stakeholders engaged in the process, oftentimes with contradictory initial expectations – EDISONDA managed to deliver the consensus that fits well in the Grant Thornton Sweden organizational context.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

The cooperation was really effective. We had good workflow and collaboration between all teams and stakeholders involved. We managed to efficiently resolve the problems we encountered. At some points, a diverse group of stakeholders was engaged in the project and it became a challenge to agree on final directions that the tool would take.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

Flexibility and openness to adjust the solution to the users as much as needed and possible, in the scope of the used technology. Also, readiness to give us time for internal discussions, especially on how the solution we worked on fitted the general and broader context of Grant Thornton Sweden digital workplace.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

We could have discussed the migration process earlier – this goes also to the Grant Thornton Sweden team, but overall, at the end we have managed to process what we needed. Perhaps the tool used to gather requirements from multiple stakeholders could be rethought – I am sure it could serve in other, similar contexts too.

For what projects/services did your company hire EDISONDA?

The product team is responsible for quality of the tool being delivered, we wanted to make sure that the system is intuitive and addresses all needs of auditors in our network. Therefore we have decided to collaborate with EDISOND to conduct the usability test of the new audit tool in 10 countries with two groups of users (audit specialists and audit managers/partners). We wanted to learn how the users perceive the new tool, if they understand it, and what should be changed before the production release.

How did you select this vendor?

The EDISONDA team was natural choice as the company has wide experience in conducting international user testing projects but at the same time it is the part of our Polish member firm and understands the context of an audit engagement.

We started with selecting the countries where we wanted to test our tool. After that EDISONDA requested a meeting to demo the system. When we went through the system, they prepared the research scenario which was verified and accepted on our side. The field work part of the project lasted about a week and each session took around 60 minutes. EDISONDA coordinated the process with all participants and made sure to consider the time difference which was one of the challenges in this global project. After a week of the sessions analysis, we received the report with the insights. The report contained both observations and recommendations for changes. What was helpful, was prioritization of both problems and recommendations. We’ve received a list of quick wins which can be easily implemented.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

We received a detailed report with all the observations for the areas we were interested in. This gave us the understanding what was designed well and what areas could be improved. The structure and content of the report was well prepared and delivered in very helpful way.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

There was very good communication as we were in constant contact and EDISONDA’s team was very responsive. All necessary activities and requirements were communicated in advance so we could organize our workflow in an efficient way. EDISONDA was very proactive and conducted most of the recruitment work themselves, which minimized effort on our side.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

They have no problem conducting research sessions early in the morning and late in the evening adjusting flexibly to different time zones where our auditor live.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

The whole process went smoothly and the quality of the deliverables was great.

We started cooperation with Edisonda in 2018, where we worked on redesigning the architecture of the entire service, improving the current functionalities, and expanding it with new ones that corresponded to the set business goals. Our main goal was to create a tool that will be more engaging for users, will allow them to interact with the community easier and at the same time will help to reach our business goals. In 2022, we established cooperation again.

Our goal was to refresh the home page to suit the needs and requirements of users. We also decided to change the visual concept of the website and logotype. We have created, and constantly improve, a user-friendly platform for book-lovers.

The goal was to identify parts of the process that could be digitized and build a Proof of Concept that could be specified for developers. Edisonda addressed the full scope of our needs with a 2-week discovery sprint. Their team independently reviewed the materials and information we provided. During the process, they developed user stories, information architecture, screen flow and 5 screen designs.

Our three-person team was involved in the sprint through workshops, review of individual deliverables and the results of the entire sprint. In total we were involved for 3 days out of 10.

By mapping out the process in detail, Edisonda was able to optimize it and define a smooth transfer of responsibilities between our employees. The specifications and design concepts we received allowed us to estimate the total cost of digitizing the solution.

The discovery sprint workflow they proposed was highly effective. Edisonda was responsible for managing the entire project. We knew exactly when our involvement would be needed. The team felt it was a time well spent.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

I was impressed with the results they were able to achieve in just 10 days. This period allowed us to manage our resources with precision. It was a commitment our organization could realistically make.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

We are very happy with the products delivered by EDISONDA. We are not ready yet to go public with sharing the outcomes.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

The touchpoints with UX and UI specialists were really fruitful and we had planty of interactions to make sure that everything is just fine. When presented with different perspectives in our perception of pieces of the presented UX/UI the team was responsive and proactive. The PM was really effective in planning and communication work plan.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

I love the depth of insight, sensitivity, and professional experience of all the UX specialists. I hope we will have the opportunity to work together again.

I think this project went extremely well.

I’m the business development director at a human genome analysis software company.

What challenge were you trying to address with EDISONDA?

We needed help conducting a study to create a genetic report.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

They conducted a study for us with the participation of potential patients. The aim of the study was to develop a user-friendly, intuitive, and well understandable genetic report.

The team conducted a study and recruited potential users of the solution. They interviewed these individuals and asked them about their needs and worries related to genetic tests. From those results, they proposed a new graphical design for our report.

They provided clinical reports that are meant to be viewed with a medical professional and wellness reports that are meant for the consumer to understand easily. They delivered a prototype and recruited more study participants to test it as well. Currently, we’re planning the next phase of a usability study.

What is the team composition?

We worked with one project manager, their owner, two graphic designers, one recruitment specialist, and one usability tester.

How did you come to work with EDISONDA?

We sent out a query to several organizations and EDISONDA had the best price and experience in the life sciences field.

How much have you invested with them?

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working together in February 2020, and we wrapped up in June 2020.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

They fulfilled all of our expectations. The most difficult part of the process was recruiting the right people for our study, but that was done fully. We’ve also gotten great feedback on the design from people in the medical field we’re presenting to; the feedback confirms our first impression that EDISONDA is well qualified.

How did EDISONDA perform from a project management standpoint?

The timeline was very important because our funding institution was paying close attention to our progress. EDISONDA understood this and worked very efficiently. In fact, we were planning on wrapping up in July 2020 and they helped us wrap up earlier. Despite the remote type of work, they did everything really fast. They reacted very quickly.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Their team was extremely comprehensive. They offered the full range of services that we were looking for. Their timeliness was also impressive. In any team environment, there’s always a concern that one person will delay the whole team. EDISONDA delivered in that area well and our communication was very open.

Are there any areas they could improve?

Their pricing could be lower but the quality was excellent.

We’re a Danish company offering hand hygiene monitoring solutions in hospitals. We’re a hardware-based company but also have software applications. I’m the CTO and co-founder of the company.

What challenge were you trying to address with EDISONDA?

We’re developing our software with another company. Our team went to EDISONDA to handle the UX part of our web interfaces.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

EDISONDA provided web page design and UX analysis services. Our users are healthcare workers and general hospital employees. So, we have a well-defined user group and certain data that we provide to hospitals, related to hand hygiene compliance. It’s important for us to create visualizations that are conducive to understanding that data.

EDISONDA helped us define our UX and made the design of the pages. The main functionality of the site is plotting or visualizing data. EDISONDA helped us make data diagrams on three main subpages. They also helped us with layouts for some small sales presentations.

What is the team composition?

We had the first meeting with Hubert (UX Director), and he was our go-to guy on the project management part. We also had one developer and a project lead who organized the meetings and process.

How did you come to work with EDISONDA?

We found them through our development company, who’d worked with EDISONDA. They had only one UX developer onboard, so they needed help from a specialized partner like EDISONDA. Both companies are from Kraków, which made it easy for us to start a second collaboration. I had a meeting with EDISONDA to verify that we could work together, and it was a great match.

How much have you invested with them?

The project cost was €23,000 (approximately $28,000 USD).

What is the status of this engagement?

We had a kickoff meeting with EDISONDA in July 2019. The pre-project work started in August 2019, the work started in September of that year, and ended in March 2020.

We’re not working with them on a regular basis. We need a UX design only when we have a new application in the pipelines. We might do another project with EDISONDA in the next six months.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

They were quite organized from the start and didn’t jump to conclusions. Their team helped us through the process of defining needs and understanding our user personas. We prototyped a lot of the designs and tested them with customers during our work with EDISONDA, across different iterations. Our success metric was the ease of use.

EDISONDA was really good at conducting user tests and adjusting according to the feedback. We monitored usage and also had interviews with customers. They had a methodology for doing this, and they stuck to it.

How did EDISONDA perform from a project management standpoint?

They were good at setting and adjusting expectations on when various parts of the work would be finished, and at what level of detail. Their team was honest about what we should expect and when.

We used Slack as a shared communication tool and that worked well. We used other tools for sharing designs. Our team visited them once in Kraków, but we ran the rest of the project without face-to-face meetings and it worked quite well.

What did you find most impressive about them?

EDISONDA is an energized team, and they’re all involved in the work. They bring a great spirit and are able to get different resources together to discuss the scope.

Working with EDISONDA allowed us to save money on development. The design was perfectly aligned with customer needs so we could spend our money on development. We got the UX part right the first time instead of making multiple changes because customers couldn’t use the platform.

Are there any areas they could improve?

No, I can’t think of anything. We’ve had a good experience working with EDISONDA, and we’ll definitely do it again.

Next time, I’m probably going to ask them to push back even more on new ways of showing data. This project had some limitations, and we had to keep it simple, but I want to challenge them on the next one. It’s not something for EDISONDA to improve on though.

It was a great experience working with them, and I definitely encourage other people to get in touch. I recommend engaging their team to suggest how to improve the process. They have a lot of experience in the field and can take the customer’s hand and help them.

We merged with other company and we needed a logotype that would be easy to remember, that would be associated with medical industry and that had associations with both companies. We also needed a website that would be focused on sales and easy to follow. We care a lot about user experience.

We wanted to focus on sales and see results in double number of customers trying the test version of our software. We also wanted to increase satisfaction of out software user seeking for more information.

How did you select this vendor?

We searched for the company that works close to our office. We checked references of couple of other companies. Edisonda had references of projects that we value for good UX and modern approach.

Once we selected the contractor we had couple of workshops where we worked on our goals. After that Edisonda started preparing materials in iterations.

We had time to check it and we had a meeting to talk about our remarks or conclusions each time. It was very sufficient and Edisonda, knowing our goals, told us what would be the best solutions for our business.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

Immidiately after releasing our website we noticed increase of the traffic and increase in test software download.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

We had to cowork during pandemic shutdown but still the communication was easy. We discussed everything mainy on videocalls and sometimes in e-mails. Edisonda presented the results of their work on special website.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

We learned a lot about UX - they have really great knowledge. They are professional and suuport their customer's business.

Are there any areas for improvement?

Whole process could be faster - we had to wait for some elements. But despite this fact, our cooperation was very good and we finally got product of very good quality.

I’m a marketing officer for the European Investment Funds (EIF), which is part of the European Investment Bank Group. Our organization strives to provide accessible financing for small and medium-sized enterprises. We manage funds on behalf of the European Commission and local member states in the European Union.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What challenge were you trying to address with EDISONDA?

We were working on a project called the Western Balkans Enterprise, Development, and Innovation Facility (WB EDIF), which started in 2012. It's a financing platform that brought together large financial institutions worldwide (e.g., the EIF, the European Investment Bank, the World Bank). By consolidating their expertise into a single platform, we can utilize that information to provide access to finance and technical assistance to the Western Balkans.

We’d already created a virtual platform, but we needed to create a communications strategy, website, and brand identity. A previous vendor worked with us to develop the original WB EDIF site on WordPress, however, we felt it was time to relaunch it. We hired EDISONDA to develop and launch our new site.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Because we wanted to make so many changes, we decided to redo our entire site. They offered to meet us here in Luxemburg, but I ended up going to them instead. There, I met with their UX director and three other people, and we brainstormed about what we wanted from the site. They asked us about our demographics and target audience, categorizing potential features into things we needed, things we wanted, and things we might like later. From this, they developed our site in WordPress because I was already familiar with it. They currently continue to do hosting and maintenance work.

What is the team composition?

I met with four people in total: two from their side and two from another agency. They collaborated together on the project.

How did you come to work with EDISONDA?

Someone recommended them to us, and we reached out to them along with about four other companies.

How much have you invested with them?

We’ve invested $50,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

They developed the site in 2017. It took a couple of months of discussion as well as an additional four months to develop the site. We went through multiple iterations, and they made adjustments as needed.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

They did a really good job, and the new website has such a modern feel to it. It’s much more intuitive and user-friendly. Internally, the feedback has been extremely positive. We’re now hoping to provide more useful content to attract more traffic.

How did EDISONDA perform from a project management standpoint?

The project took longer than expected because we had delays on our side. We had to discuss the content with about 400 different people. Despite that, they were always extremely helpful and patient with us. For day-to-day communication, we used Jira, phone calls, video calls, and email. They were responsive and friendly; we’d definitely work with them again.

What did you find most impressive about them?

I found the brainstorming process particularly helpful. They dedicated a lot of quality time assessing the existing usability issues in our previous website and worked with us to identify our target audience. For me, it was the first time I had really thought about that in such detail. Our previous developer didn’t put as much thought into the site as EDISONDA did.
