We wanted to develop a training app for our customers. We have been using third party app for some years and we wanted to move a bit forward with our growing project and offer them custom made app with all we neeeded inside.

How did you select edgy.digital and what were the deciding factors?

We searched development company for quite some time, big factor for us was a price but also finiding someone we feel like we wanna work with for long time period, not only getting new app and bye.

We were looking for a partner who is gonna help us move project further so also personal factor was in a game a lot.

We had a lot of intro meetings because for us was very important for the developers to understand our project, our customers and what we really want and need in the app. After couple weeks we had a plan what is gonna be in the first release of the app and what is necessary.

Then we designed mobile and desktop app, then they did their magic and then we were testing, giving feedback, changing things, testing again etc.

We were working and communicating basically with the project maanger only, expect for one intro meeting where more developers attended to hear about our project from us. I liked that I did not have to communicate with more people but had one responsible.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

Within 2 days our app was number 1 in Health&Fitness in App Store in Czech republic and hold the place for couple days. Needed to say that we already had a nice customer base before releasing the app.

In half a year we already had thousands of downloads, more than 6000 accounts and around 400-500 stable users who are paying monthly for our content. I am happy with all that, but always could be better.

The team was available for us almost all the time, including on weekends or evenings. We usually communicated via Slack or phone calls.

He was also very proactive with Zoom calls with my team to go through changes, our feedback etc.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

I don't know much about developing even after developing my own app (haha), but for sure it was the communication and will to do thing, change things for us to really be happy about the app.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

I would say timings and predictions of how long things can take for them. We had to postpone our release date couple times which was not always their faul (Apple app reviews etc) but was a bit hard to plan ou bussiness plan for the year, or marketing etc. 

I had feeling they started to work on the app intensively a bit later than they should to really be on our planned release date, which we agreed on months ago.

It is too soon to share measurable outcomes as we have just launched the service. However, yesterday we received samples from our first customer.
