The team impresses the client's staff with on-point deliverables and reliable customer service, ensuring a lasting engagement.
""We know that we’re working with the right provider when both our staff and customers are pleased.""

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m the global marketing manager at Proponent, an aerospace distribution company.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with Echo Factory?

We needed their marketing and design expertise.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?

Echo Factory’s first deliverable for us has centered on website design in pursuit of our marketing efforts. They’ve handled our UX/UI design efforts and chose the right color schemes and themes that best represent our nature of business.

Their team has then helped us execute other marketing initiatives — this has included written and visual content creation for our marketing and branding materials, such as brochures and email campaigns. Additionally, they’ve helped us implement a brand overhaul to improve our digital presence, one of their biggest tasks.

We’ve also engaged Echo Factory for their photography and video production services, and we mainly use those deliverables for our website and press releases. Their ongoing work for our company involves constant website maintenance and content marketing on an as-needed basis.

What is the team composition?

We’ve worked with five resources at most.

How did you come to work with Echo Factory?

Echo Factory has been working for our company for at least 12 years now, and I only reached out to them when I was tasked with handling this marketing project.

What is the status of this engagement?

Our long-term and ongoing collaboration with Echo Factory commenced in March 2009.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Our clients have been impressed with Echo Factory’s rebranding work — they especially prefer the noticeable, user-friendly changes that their team has made on the website. In return, we’ve secured an impressive boost in site traffic, which has further resulted in a sales increase.

Our in-house team is always keen on sharing affirmations about Echo Factory’s work — we know that we’re working with the right provider when both our staff and customers are pleased. Their team’s commitment to delivering quality results continues to strengthen our enduring collaboration.

How did Echo Factory perform from a project management standpoint?

We mainly communicate via email and conduct regular virtual meetings. Echo Factory has a systematic approach that helps them meet our goals and deadlines.

What did you find most impressive about them?

We’re most impressed with their creativity and customer service, two important strengths that a successful service provider must possess.

Are there any areas they could improve?

They’re already a good company, but they can further benefit from more innovative ideas in market research. We’ll appreciate a higher level of involvement when it comes to figuring out the changing trends and needs of our customers.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Echo Factory is a professional and reliable team — they can help you execute your needs more efficiently if you provide them with a detailed project brief.

## Portfolio & Awards

### Space Robotics — Product Launch
Motiv came to Echo-Factory looking to get the recognition they deserved.  Even though their team was making significant contributions to major space missions (like the Mars Rover), they were thought of as minor contractors who could only assist in limited roles.

Going to space is expensive, and for a long time, everyone assumed it had to be that way. Then, as commercial spaceflight began to take shape, suddenly balance sheets were at the front of everyone’s mind.
In that “new-space” economy, space-rated robotic arms that could often cost $30 million or more were simply too expensive for typical commercial applications. But, Motiv Space Systems didn’t think they had to be.
In fact, they knew they didn’t have to be, because they’d developed a space-capable robotic arm system that drastically undercut current offerings. And they came to Echo-Factory for help with launching their first-ever space-capable commercial robotic arm platform.
We started with a name, the xLink, and then built a product story around Motiv’s past success with iconic missions like the Mars 2020 Perseverance Rover, which included rendered video showing the platform in use.
Finally, when our plans to launch xLink at an industry conference were scrapped thanks to COVID, we quickly replaced them with a successful digital product launch across owned, earned and paid platforms.
Today, xLink already has its first mission scheduled, aboard a spacecraft that will manufacture a solar array while it’s orbiting around the planet, and Motiv has received significant amounts of interest from other missions interested in their industry-redefining xLink technology.
Echo-Factory helped Motiv get the recognition they deserve, and today they’re seen as a significantly more capable company, capable of delivering entire space-robotic systems and advanced robotic components.

### Consumer Goods — Product Launch
Hollywood loves a winner, and only two weeks after its release, pre-orders for the Auroris exceeded all of LiteGear’s targets and goals. It looks like it’s a hit.
In March 2021, LiteGear—makers of LED lighting products for film, TV and HD professionals—contacted us to help brand and market a whole new system that could revolutionize how lighting work gets done. The brand’s increased demand for marketing, advertising, and growth meant help was needed in reaching those goals.
We immersed ourselves in the highly specialized world of cinema lighting. We created a 138-page strategy deck: by listening closely to the skilled professionals that make up LiteGear’s loyal customer base, we were able to understand their needs and develop approaches that would make them pay attention.
The fun part: concepting the creative for the Auroris launch, including an immersive microsite, animated videos, brochures, social media, and even a print ad. Our first major piece was a sci-fi-influenced key image. With a captivating world created, aurora borealis lighting was added along with the product front-and-center to announce the arrival of a lighting system from a futuristic new dimension. As LiteGear worked through supply-chain and production delays brought on by the pandemic, we worked together to turn challenges into opportunities. One example—the extra time allowed us to create full 3D product renders to be used across all digital campaign materials, especially the centerpiece of the launch—the Auroris microsite. The renders allowed us to create large, impressive product images, renders, videos and animations–including a scrolling animation and animated cinemagraph of the key visual.
A little over a year after LiteGear first contacted us, we arranged a multi-platform live launch premiere event for the Auroris. Teaser postcards and social media announcements were deployed, along with a landing page and YouTube link where our audience could both register for the event and bookmark it.

### Healthcare — Digital & Traditional Marketing
Huntington Hospital has been delivering advanced care to the San Gabriel Valley since 1892. Today, it is recognized by a host of national awards, maintains a network of over 1,000 medical providers, and provides over $100-million in community health benefits ever year.
Huntington was facing significant competition for community awareness. As an independent not-for-profit regional hospital, larger university hospitals and national health systems got more attention in its local market. The hospital also faced competition from smaller regional and community hospitals with outsized marketing budgets.
Huntington came to us with clear goals in mind: build awareness of the hospital as a whole, and reach the people whose health can benefit the most from the unique services that Huntington provides.
Our solution started with updating the hospital’s website. Previously, its site was hampered by a proprietary content management system that made content updates difficult, slow and costly. We worked with Huntington to develop a custom-designed website that would present information to the community in an intuitive, accessible way while allowing Huntington to quickly and easily post updates, and add new, relevant content to the website on an ongoing basis.
Next, we developed and implemented a cross-media marketing and advertising campaign, assessing seasonal interest levels in specific service lines offered by Huntington. Then, we developed an integrated marketing calendar that tied our messaging for specific services to the neighborhoods and seasons, where and when we were able to predict the most interest in those services. That campaign was then into an ongoing brand campaign that reminded residents of the world-class healthcare services available to them.
Huntington is building awareness of its services and reestablishing its critical role in the community. Most importantly, the hospital can now better perform its mission of improving the health of the San Gabriel Valley.

### Aerospace — Rebrand
Reconfiguring and reintroducing a trusted brand to current and potential customers.
Proponent has been a client since 2008. In fact, they were one of Echo-Factory’s first clients, and they have remained with us as they have seen explosive growth over the years, recently merging with their biggest competitor to form the world’s largest independent aerospace distribution company. This merger led to the decision to create a new brand to reflect the new scale and strategies of the company.
Aerospace distribution can be a very dry sector, so when Proponent decided to rebrand after more than four decades as Kapco, they looked to Echo-Factory to create a brand that would immediately set them apart, while leaning into the more than 115 years of combined experience that the two companies brought to the industry.
Echo-Factory provided a new logo, a bright, modern visual style and a friendly, conversational brand personality. We debuted the new identity through a fully redesigned website, digital and print ad campaigns, updated marketing and sales collateral, trade show booth designs and materials, office wall graphics, photo shoots, videos and animations.

### Rebrand using nostalgia
Using Nostalgia and Good Times to Bring Back Fun to Discount Retail
When the former-President of Pic ‘N’ Save wanted to resurrect a brand from the past, we jumped in and helped him (re)launch the concept of Treasure Hunt shopping.
Discounted Prices.  Overstocked On Fun.
If you grew up in California, there’s a good chance that you have fond memories of Pic 'N' Save.  Before there was Big Lots, Dollar Store, Dollar General, Dollar Tree or Dollar Whatever, there was Pic ‘N’ Save.  And unlike its modern competitors, shopping at Pic ‘N’ Save was fun!

Families went to Pick ‘N’ Save not because they couldn't afford to shop elsewhere, but because shopping at Pic ‘N’ Save was an adventure.  You never knew what you’d find, and more often than not, what you found delighted you.
Bringing Back the Good Times
The original Pick ‘N’ Save brand was sold to a competitor, and disappeared by 2002.  But in 2019, it’s former President Mark Miller decided it was time for a comeback.

Mark came to Echo-Factory with an ask that was right up our alley: refresh the old brand and create a go-to-market strategy that would support the launch Pic ‘N’ Save Bargains’ first store.

We dug in, did the research, did the work, and helped launch an exclusively in-person retail outlet just in time for the global pandemic that brought supply chains and in-person shopping to a grinding halt.
Beating the Odds
Despite the challenging environment, the (re)launch of Pic ‘N’ Save Bargains has been a tremendous success.

Long time fans of the former brand were thrilled to see it back up and running, with the same “treasure hunt” like experience they’d enjoyed in the past. And thousands of new customer have been introduced to the concept of discount shopping for the fun, not necessity, of it.

“Echo-Factory’s done so much more than just marketing.  They gave us a gameplan that was essential to the success of Pick ‘N’ Save Bargains.”

Mark J. Miller, Founder, Pick ‘N’ Save Bargains

### Technology — Branding a Merger
Unifrax, one of the world’s leading specialty materials makers, acquired another industry leader, Lydall, and needed a name and logo for the brand-new entity.
The ask was relatively straightforward, yet encompassed layers of considerations and complexities—all in an aggressive three-month time frame. This was more than a coat of new brand paint and a catchy name: it was bringing together two companies with storied pasts, proud workforces and strong identities that would transform into a worldwide giant with over 70 manufacturing facilities and 9,000 employee. A “New Co” positioned for global leadership, replete with the culture, vision and values worthy of its ambitions.
Our brand and archetype exploration described New Co as smart, disruptive, innovative, knowledgeable and, above all, transformational. Soon two concepts emerged— “alchemy,” the study and practice of changing and creating new materials; and “new era” for the future to come—that, when combined as “Alke-Gen,” yielded something unique and future-forward, like the two companies that came together to create it.
Soon enough, a logo that could be easily translated across Alkegen’s global workforce took shape. A key element is the “Alkegen Arc”—the abstraction of a bridge from today’s technology to a brighter, cleaner future via the brand’s commitment to creating sustainable, environmentally responsible advanced materials—was implemented across a wide breadth of applications. Alkegen’s strong yet approachable typography symbolizse its energetic pace and focus on growth, with a bold color palette representing openness and environmental elements.

The newly-named Alkegen then increased the scope of work—including a 131-page guidelines deck, website, trade show booth and series of videos—to bring the rest of the brand to life ahead of its January ‘22 launch. Building on the initial visual choices, the rest of the brand’s elements developed and expanded from the guidelines and onto every touchpoint.
