What challenge were you trying to address with DrupOst?

I've been developing a platform for a long time, and I’ve used a variety of developers from around the world. However, none of them accomplished what I wanted; the platform is complicated and involves numerous working parts, so I began looking for another partner.

What was the scope of their involvement?

The app is a unique news and community platform that’s designed to serve multiple types of users. DrupOst built the entire product on Drupal and helped with the design, functionality, and UX. They created a customized search function, utilizing the site for importing available resources of content.

I’ve spent between $25,000–$35,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We’ve been working together since 2013. We’re about to launch the platform in its beta form.

I’ve received overwhelmingly positive responses on the concept, design, and functionality of the platform. It does exactly what I envisioned it to do.

We communicate via email, but we also use a project management tool and Google sheets.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

They did a great job. They're some of the hardest working and most dedicated developers I've ever met. They're excellent at working with Drupal; probably the best I’ve ever worked with. I hope they train more people and grow the team. They have a lot of work coming in and I want to make sure they have the time to work with me in the future.

How did DrupOst perform from a project management standpoint?

We use Skype, Jira, Slack, and Bitbucket.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They’re really reliable and work really hard. The code quality with Drupal is better than any that I’ve seen.

Are there any areas they could improve?

No.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

You have to keep in mind that they’re not based in the U.S. That means working on their hours a little. If you’re willing to work with a time zone difference, it’s worth it.
