BACKGROUND
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I was the CTO of Freshperts, a single-cart multi-brand food delivery company.
OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE
What challenge were you trying to address with Dribba?
We hired Dribba to help us design and develop key parts of our single-cart multi-brand food delivery platform. The main goal was to create a scalable and user-friendly experience that allowed customers to order from multiple restaurant brands in a single checkout and delivery flow.
SOLUTION
What was the scope of their involvement?
Dribba was involved in areas such as product strategy, UX/UI, frontend and backend development, and helping us validate technical decisions to ensure the platform could scale as the business grew. Their scope of work included UX/UI design, frontend and backend development, technical architecture, and ongoing product iteration. Some of the main deliverables included the customer-facing ordering platform, the multi-brand single-cart and checkout flow, integrations with restaurant systems and delivery operations, as well as internal tools and dashboards to help manage the platform. They also collaborated closely with us on improving usability, performance, and scalability throughout the project. Dribba handled the full development of the platform, including both frontend and backend. They built the customer-facing application, the backend infrastructure, the multi-brand single-cart ordering flow, integrations, and the main operational functionalities required for the platform to run. They essentially acted as the main development partner for the project, working closely with our team throughout the product and technical development process.
What is the team composition?
We worked with 5–10 members of Dribba's team.
How did you come to work with Dribba?
We found Dribba through an online search. We considered several options, but Dribba stood out because of their combination of technical expertise, startup mindset, and communication. We were looking for a team that could not only execute development tasks but also understand the product vision, challenge ideas when needed, and move fast in an agile environment. Their experience with modern technologies and digital products also gave us confidence they were the right fit.
What is the status of this engagement?
The engagement lasted from May 2020–December 2024.
RESULTS & FEEDBACK
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
The project successfully launched and allowed us to operate a real multi-brand food delivery model with a single-cart experience, which was one of the main objectives from the beginning. We were able to onboard multiple restaurant brands into the same platform and provide customers with a smoother ordering experience compared to traditional delivery apps. From a technical perspective, the platform was stable, scalable, and flexible enough to support operational growth and new integrations over time. The collaboration also helped us move faster in product development and validate important business and technical decisions early in the process. While I can’t share confidential business numbers, the platform processed a significant volume of orders across multiple restaurant brands and became a core operational tool for the business. One of the key indicators of success was the ability to manage multi-brand orders within a single checkout and delivery flow in a stable and scalable way. We also saw strong user adoption from existing restaurant customers, high operational reliability, and continuous platform usage as the business expanded. From a technical standpoint, the platform maintained solid performance and uptime throughout daily operations. After launch, we saw customers quickly adopt the platform, especially existing users from our restaurant brands who appreciated the convenience of ordering from multiple concepts in a single checkout. We also observed healthy repeat order behavior, which was an important indicator that the user experience and operational flow were working well. The platform became part of the regular ordering habits for many customers, and adoption continued to grow as we added more brands and improved the overall experience. Both customers and internal stakeholders gave very positive feedback after the launch. From the customer side, one of the most appreciated aspects was the convenience of being able to combine products from different restaurant brands into a single order and delivery, which was not common in the market at the time. Internally, the platform improved operational coordination between brands and gave the business more flexibility and control compared to relying entirely on third-party delivery marketplaces. Stakeholders also valued the scalability of the platform and the ability to continue evolving the product over time.
How did Dribba perform from a project management standpoint?
Dribba’s project management was very solid throughout the collaboration. Communication was clear, they were responsive, and they worked in an agile way that allowed us to iterate quickly as the product evolved. Overall, they delivered on time for the major milestones and were proactive when challenges or changes appeared, which is especially important in startup and product-driven environments where priorities can shift during development.
What did you find most impressive about them?
What stood out the most was their combination of technical capability and product mindset. They were not just executing tasks; they genuinely understood the business goals behind the platform and contributed ideas to improve both the product and the user experience. Their team was also very collaborative and adaptable, which made the relationship feel more like working with an internal product team rather than an external agency. That level of involvement and ownership was especially valuable in a fast-moving startup environment.
Are there any areas they could improve?
Like in most long-term and fast-evolving projects, there were moments where timelines shifted or priorities had to be adjusted as requirements changed. In some cases, having even more structured planning around evolving features and scope management could have helped align expectations more easily. That said, overall the collaboration was very positive, and they were always responsive and committed to finding solutions when challenges appeared.
