Our clientele involves some big names of the infrastructure industry, who are always looking for ways to provide an interactive experience to their end-customers. Divami serves as our design partner in all these endeavors. They help us provide the visitor with the real feel of the residential/business property through an intuitive platform.

What were your goals for this project?

The idea is to create an immersive experience for the visitors to increase inquiries through intuitive designs, call to actions, and user interactions for each of our clients. Depending upon the requirements, the scope changes at times too.

The overall idea is for the design to let users easily browse through all the features available, view their details, and specifications to understand each of the amenities they will have access to. Our main goal remains to make the virtual platform more elaborate, detail-oriented, and easy to access.

I heard about them from a business associate and later on, tried to find more information about them. The discussion with the team went well. They were open and brought a lot more to the table than just ideas. That’s another reason we continue to be associated with them.

Primarily, we wanted a platform where we can showcase our clients’ projects to all prospective buyers. As we are targeting a generation that is more tech-savvy than their predecessors, we thought a mobile/web-enabled virtual platform would make it easy for them to make the buying decisions.

The team at Divami is an experienced team that understood these problem statements. They researched the market to find out how to appeal to our clients’ target market and came up with plans that worked.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

The platform is live and a great success. It is something that we are extremely proud of. Moreover, we work with the Divami team closely whenever there are any customization and/or branding requirements from any of our clients or we want any additional changes.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

It was easy and effective. The team met with us through scheduled video calls on a timely basis. In each meeting, they updated us on their tasks, suggested improvements, and took our feedback diligently.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

The dedication of the team is infectious. They came up with their ideas and suggested how they can further improve the platform. I was really impressed with this.

The design team at Divami worked hand in hand with our development team, and it really felt like they were employees of our company. We had a dedicated user experience expert and a dedicated designer. The user experience came first, and then it was handed off to the designer, but they both stayed present throughout the entire process.

Our developers are still working so we haven't launched the new product yet. However, I am confident the new designs and user experience will help us achieve our goals.

We partnered with Divami to design & develop the chat interface widget, especially the front end bot interface. The Divami team was also responsible for the plugin development that would enable the bot to be integrated into any third-party platform.

We wanted a widget that could be deployed by any enterprise on their website with minimal effort.

How did you select Divami Design Labs?

I worked with the team previously on a different product when I was running another startup a couple of years ago. And I was very happy with the outcome of the previous project. So, we decided to choose them when the need for a trusted service provider arose.

Describe the project in detail.

The scope of the overall project was to Develop the Chat Interface widget for the Smartbots platform. The Divami team needed to design the UI for this chat platform. They also needed to build the chat module in a way that can be integrated into any third party website. Simply put, they were in charge of the complete design and development of the front end of the platform.

What was the team composition?

The team consisted of two designers, two developers, and a project manager who worked in collaboration with us. We also had the support of an Architect when needed.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

We are really happy with the outcome. The work delivered by the Divami team has drastically reduced the efforts required by our team as well as our enterprise clients.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

There were weekly status calls to provide us with updates. They delivered the UI designs within a week and the development team also ensured timely delivery.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

The team is motivated and skilled. It is really impressive to work with the set of such driven people

Introduce your business and what you do there.

pSolv is a big data products and services company that’s been in business since 2011. We help companies integrate on big data platforms, in order to improve their business intelligence and advanced analytics streams.

There’s a lot of data out there today, more than anyone can imagine and in a lot of different formats, so we need technology to manage it. There’s a wide array of technology out there that people aren’t normally aware of. We provide consulting services and help them implement various technology stacks.

Over time, we realized that it would be ideal if we built an analytical process automation platform that could go through the entire process without the need to write a single line of code. The platform is called Needletail, and we’ve been developing it for the last one and a half years.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What challenge were you trying to address with Divami Design Labs?

We have a web-based UI for the Needletail platform, and although we’re great engineers, we’re not very good UI/UX designers. That’s why we got in contact with Divami Design Labs.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

We first approached them to design our landing page. It needed to look impressive and allow users to navigate easily through all product features. Everything needed to be intuitive and require as few clicks as possible.

We have a unique product, and most people think that it’s a project management platform when first hearing about it. There’s a lot of education that needs to happen for someone to discern our UI, the technologies used, and the industry domain. We helped Divami Design Labs with this, and they were very patient in learning our technology.

What is the team composition?

We worked with 4–5 people from their team, including a senior UI/UX designer.

How did you come to work with Divami Design Labs?

Two of our partners had worked with them before, and they immediately recommended Divami Design Labs when we brought up the project.

How much have you invested with them?

The cost of their work was $10,000–$20,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working with Divami Design Labs in April or May 2020, and they delivered the work in June 2020. We’re implementing the designs now. We might engage them again as we add new features.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Divami Design Labs met all the objectives we laid out for our UI and even went beyond our expectations. For example, they gave us two UI options for one of the screens, instead of just cleaning up the interface as we asked.

How did Divami Design Labs perform from a project management standpoint?

We’re a startup and don’t have a lot of internal bandwidth, but Divami Design Labs was helpful in terms of project management. They sent us meeting minutes after each meeting and set up all the meetings.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Our technology is pretty complex. I’ve been in the industry for 30 years, but it took me 7–8 months just to get a rudimentary understanding of this technology. Divami Design Labs had the challenge of understanding it in about a month and a half, and they did.

Are there any areas they could improve?

We started this project around when the pandemic started. Their team was used to working from their office, and now they were shifting to working from home. This was more difficult to do in India than in the US because houses there are smaller and there’s not a lot of personal space. They were going through that transition and did a good job. They still managed to meet all our deadlines.

Do you have any advice for future clients of theirs?

I advise clients to go through all the interviews that Divami Design Labs will ask for. They’re very particular about getting a complete understanding of the product. If clients are patient and work with them on that, they’ll be very successful.

The UX UI for each app was highly appreciated by our clients. There was an increase in usability after the new iteration of the legacy enterprise application was beta-tested.

Their project execution process was seamless. Even though initially, they did take time to conduct research and come back with an action plan, it was worth the time in the end.

They actively participated in meetings to decipher the pain points of the client and made sure to solve it through their design. Their focus on research and analysis helped them present a design that was approved with minimal iteration.

Moreover, they explained their approach, which helped us envision the outcome. Additionally, we had a project review meeting every week where the updates were given promptly.

Edwisely aims to transform Indian Engineering Institutes into AI-Powered learning campuses with data-driven technology that can help engineering students reach their full potential during their graduation rather than after. Simply put, we make the students job-ready.

I am the co-founder (and CEO) of the company. The idea of Edwisely was born from my own experience as I realized the skill gap and the fact that the college-education has not prepared a lot of job-seekers for real-world challenges.

Edwisely happened from our own experience. We observed the gap in real-world skills from people who were part of our teams- starting out their careers or were even experienced.

We wanted Divami to come up with the design for a hybrid learning platform gamified enough to keep the students engaged. The ultimate goal was to personalize their learning path suiting their ability and learning style.

What were your goals for this project?

We did not want to just come up with an online education platform. We wanted to enhance the learning experience as well. We wanted the platform to be fun, engaging, and educational. The platform should be able to lure students into spending more time developing their skills, design their learning path, and shape up their career along the way.

The name of Divami Design Labs popped up during one conversation with an iOS team member. I found out more about them. In the first meeting itself, I was intrigued by the design approach suggested by the Divami leadership team.

As a company that is into Education, we place high importance on the Value System. And, after doing a little research, I came across their various other clients and decided to work with them.

We wanted to appeal to the countless engineers across India. So, we wanted the platform to be simple yet approachable. We had the idea that if it comes across as just another online learning platform, students will not be interested in spending time on it.

Furthermore, the design should reflect the different learning journey taken by each student. So, customization was really important. The Divami team sat with us for hours to understand the idea behind the platform.

They even interacted with students as part of their user research to find out what to include in a modern interactive educational platform. This process was really helpful in shaping the platform to what we see today.

The team consisted of two Designers, a strategist, and a Project Manager. And, the team worked closely with our project manager.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

Enriched with learning metrics, the platform provides a unique learning experience catered to each student. Students are exceptionally happy to spend time on a platform that works much like a video game- you watch a video, you take a test, and you score a point.

Additionally, we have hundreds of educators and dozens of corporates who use our platform to reach students. Our user engagement has skyrocketed for all the three segments. After the initial engagement to design the Student platform was so successful, we are continuing to work with Divami on the re-design of our other digital assets.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

With several years of industry experience, the Divami team has aced both their communication and project execution. They knew what questions to ask, and they knew how to interpret our answers as well. We had daily scrum meetings with them to discuss the progress of the project, and they were more than happy to include our feedback each time.

Their initial research with our targeted user group of engineers provided them with an advantage to defend their every design modification. And, we were glad to see things from their angle and incorporate them.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

We really appreciate their value system. They made us feel as if they were part of Edwisely. Divami worked on Edwisely's Mission. Every day we received prompt updates about what was happening. There was never a grey area as they are dedicated, experienced, and skilled.

After working in the talent management domain for more than a decade, we noticed a gap between freshers and recruiters/mentors. Freshers had the notion that people who can help them boost their careers are unapproachable.

That’s where our search for a company with technical knowledge to turn our vision into reality. We knew that the execution of the idea was much more complicated than it seemed. After careful consideration of the market players, we zeroed in on Divami.

Simply put, we wanted them to create a simple social media platform for us, which captured relevant information to carry forward formal conversations in a casual way.

What were your goals for this project?

Our major goal was to have a social platform, where freshers, recruiters, and mentors can co-exist and mutually benefit each other. Freshers can easily find jobs, and recruiters can easily scour for talent.

Additionally, we wanted the design to be clutter-free, quick loading, and capture only essential information. We wanted an interface that was quite intuitive and captured the essence of our vision.

We knew that for this project, so close to our heart, we need a partner who can drive our vision forward. Truth be told, we evaluated multiple agencies but finally selected Divami after hearing good words about them for a reference.

For the social media platform, we wanted to stay simple yet elegant. We needed something that it was inviting for freshers to sign up. Additionally, we wanted to stand out in the crowd and not be referred to as another professional social media community.

We also wanted the recruiters to come to the Yo!Aspire platform as their primary talent sourcing venue. Divami team understood that. They included social media platforms, job posting sites in their initial research to come up with a design plan. And, we were updated every step along the way.

I am the VP of product for a healthcare technology company. We develop products in the IoT space, mostly focusing on healthcare.

We were trying to design a monitoring portal for cardiac telemetry.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

They designed the portal for the technician. The portal is designed for monitoring EKG rhythms on a 24/7 basis. There are technicians that are looking at the rhythms and the EKG data. The purpose of the project was to design a monitoring portal for the technician and also a portal for providers and physicians to login and look at the reports. 

We have given them the requirements which had rough sketches and wireframes. I spent a lot of time with them making sure they understood the space and what we were looking for. I believe they used Illustrator.

What is the team composition?

I primarily worked with one person who was the project manager. I met the CEO through a common contact and he was there during the initial project launch. I also worked with the designer and another person who helped out with the project coordination.

How did you come to work with Divami Design Labs?

They were referred to us by a friend.

The project went from January–November 2019.

I think they were on point. We had regularly scheduled status meetings where they would come and show us the progress, so I think the project management was good. We were pretty active in terms of helping them understand the space and then providing feedback in terms of changes we needed. They were pretty responsive to those changes.

I think the speed as well as the design skills were the most impressive.

In terms of improvement, I think being a little tighter on the timeline would help.

It was a beautiful experience. We had review meetings twice a week where we discussed the progress made and possible ideas. I enjoyed the enthusiasm with which they presented their ideas and designs, they were totally involved. They received my feedback also quite well and adapted to it quickly.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

Their commitment, ownership, enthusiasm, and passion bowled me over! Their passion was infectious. They owned and drove the project to completion successfully.

Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m the head of growth at a technology marketplace that connects IT professionals with technology vendors. We also have free tools, apps and a forum where IT professionals can interact and discuss very specific, technical questions.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What challenge were you trying to address with Divami Design Labs?

At the time we brought them on, there was nobody in-house who had WordPress or PHP experience, which is what our corporate website was built on. We needed to fill that gap from a technical skillset perspective.

We brought Divami Design Labs on to help with the maintenance of the site, to drive improvements in page performance, load time, and accessibility, and to run growth experiments using Google Optimize.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Early on in the engagement, they did some design work by providing mockups and prototypes within Invision where we were able to see the new page designs. We were then able to bring some design resources in house, so Divami Design Labs’ role transitioned. 

They began doing more web development and coding work. The team did coding within our WordPress templates and built out new design variants within Google Optimize. They worked with PHP, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.

What is the team composition?

Our main point of contact was our project manager, who managed the design and development teams. In 2018, the team size was four people, and then it got smaller later on. We began working with two developers and a project manager. I was also in contact with Naveen (CEO).

How did you come to work with Divami Design Labs?

My manager, who had worked with Divami Design Labs in a prior engagement or was referred to them, introduced me to Naveen. 

What is the status of this engagement?

We worked with Divami Design Labs from December 2018–April 2020. We wrapped up the project due to budget constraints.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

Before working with Divami Design Labs, our corporate website’s homepage was loading in 4.9 seconds. After the team did a lot of performance improvements, the time went down to 1.4 seconds.

Additionally, we initially had a desktop PageSpeed Insights score of 64 out of 100. After the team’s optimizations, we got it up to 88. A lot of the A/B testing and Google Optimize experiments were designed to reduce bounces and increase engagement. 

We measured the bounce rates before and after Divami Design Labs’ process improvements, and we’re seeing improvements of about 39%. We were pleased with the results from a technical perspective.

How did Divami Design Labs perform from a project management standpoint?

We use Jira in-house which Divami Design Labs adopted, and they were also great about commenting on tickets. We’re based in Texas and they are in India, which is a big time difference. The team was very good about responding to emails quickly.

We had a good cadence of twice-a-week meetings on Mondays and Thursdays. On Monday morning, I knew exactly what they were working on during the week, and on Thursday we would recap and see if there were any obstacles. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

We use a lot of different tools and we expected them to adopt our tools. Compared to other vendors, Divami Design Labs was much more flexible in terms of adapting our tools and methods.

Other companies would push back and say that they wanted to use the tools with which they were familiar. This team was much more proactive in terms of learning and teaching their team members to use our tools. 

They used Basecamp and Google Sheets for other clients, but I liked that they were willing to use Jira.

Are there any areas they could improve?

Early on in the engagement, they would rush to meet deadlines while skipping out on QA and testing. We identified the issues quickly and corrected them. The team then started implementing automated testing.

They could’ve done this right from the beginning. Additionally, we didn’t ask them to do a lot of documentation, but the level of detail and documentation could’ve been improved on. They fixed this as the engagement went on.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Define the expectations of documentation right from the start. Clarify your expectations and share your audience data with them. This will save time and prevent confusion.
