I’m the VP of marketing at ClaimBuyout. We’re a post-accident solution; we buy damaged vehicles at pre-accident value. We partner with insurance providers who extend our services to their policyholders after an accident.

What challenge were you trying to address with Digital Authority Partners?

We launched our brand in January 2021, so we wanted to engage a creative partner we could trust to put our digital health first and teach us about ranking, authority scores, SEO, and purposeful content.

We had a decent website that met our needs as a startup, but as we evolved to bring on more insurance providers, we wanted to redevelop our site to make it more user-friendly and tech-forward.

What was the scope of their involvement?

We had several meetings at the beginning of the project to go over our vision and what we expected from the partnership. Digital Authority Partners worked to understand our brand, conducted digital health reports, and delivered a plan of action. They initially provided us with three design options, and we provided feedback and selected our favorite. 

Digital Authority Partners has redesigned and reformulated our website to improve the UX and give us a more tech-forward feel. They made the site more user-friendly, informative, and compatible with mobile and desktop. They changed the site to have a black background and included elements of our branding throughout. They gave us creative ideas to improve the site and taught us about SEO and generating purposeful content. The new website will launch later this month.

Additionally, they’ve assisted us with copywriting and created white papers. They’ve also streamlined the resources we provide to insurance carriers and vehicle owners. They’ve included educational pages that outline what users can expect post-accident and how our process can work to help them quickly. We primarily use InVision, InDesign, and Google Docs to share content. We plan to engage their other services in the future.

I have a web development and design background, so I’ve been very direct about our goals and specifications, and Digital Authority Partners has done a stellar job with the website. We are a digital platform, so our site needs to be accessible and navigable for our insurance partners and individual vehicle owners. They did a good job breaking down how our service works to give consumers a solid understanding of our business. 

Our customer experience team is ecstatic because they feel like the website effectively and transparently shows users how we generate pre-accident value. Digital Authority Partners has made it easier for insurance partners to log in to our portal to view customer statuses easily. Users can now submit their information and get offers back within an hour when they visit our site. We have a 70% acceptance rate on our offers and purchased $30 million worth of damaged vehicles to date.

We’ve received overwhelmingly positive feedback, and our team is pleased with the content's quality and attention to detail. Digital Authority Partners helps us with web promotion. They’ve put together a marketing plan for us, which mainly consists of SEO and content marketing efforts. During this process, they conduct keyword research, come up with web content around the selected keywords, and provide us with a keyword research report. There are also times when we provide the keywords to them instead. On rare occasions, we use their service for white labeling. 

Additionally, their team provides social media marketing services — they create social content and manage our channels to engage with customers. They’ve also helped us with developing written content and visuals, such as infographics and promotional banners.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Since working with Digital Authority Partners, our clients, including our company, have been very happy with the results. In fact, they’ve helped one of our fintech clients promote a new product — this project resulted in a 700% increase in organic traffic and a three-fold improvement in leads.

We’ve also never had any single misfire with them, unlike our previous providers. Whenever they get involved in any project, we completely trust them to deliver results.

Their project management style is an A+. They’re very quick to respond to any kind of feedback, and it’s easy to reach out to them at any time of the day, even during weekends. We communicate via Slack, Asana,  email, phone, and in-person meetings.

We unfortunately had to stop the project as a result of COVID and a merger, so we did not get to complete the website and launch it. However, the project was going well until we had to pause it.

To us, it was both important to find a good development partner and also a marketing agency that can rewrite the copy on our website in a way that is in line with our government buyers. They presented a deck that included areas of opportunity for both short-term and long-term solutions and improvements. During the onboarding process, we met weekly to review KPI's and discuss strategy. Once we were in a good place with processes and expectations, we met bi-weekly to review progress and discuss strategies for the next month. Digital Authority uses tools such as Data Studio, Google Analytics, and Feedonomics to offer us the best strategies based on current goals.

Digital Authority Partners worked with Hospital Excel to completely renovate our old website and prepare it for search engine optimization. They performed market research and provided a keyword optimization strategy based upon the hospital's goals and target markets, and made recommendations regarding the architectural structure of the new site, platform recommendations, landing pages, and other key components. 

Digital Authority Partners then worked with our internal design team to actually design the website, create content, and determine the optimum look and feel of the site. Once the website was ready to launch publicly, they then assisted technically with the launch. After the new site was displayed correctly on our public domain, Digital Authority Partners then optimized the public site in terms of user loading and rendering times.

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

Digital Authority Partners was able to completely overhaul our website. Our original site was inconsistent in terms of appearance and overall goals. 

In spite of some our internal difficulties coming up with a coherent strategy and content, Digital Authority Partners worked with us to step-by-step determine goals related to our target markets, establish a coherent structure for the site, move the old site from the Wix-based to a Wordpress-based platform in order to provide more tools and control over the site. 

Digital Authority Partners created many landing pages based on the SEO keyword strategy which was agreed upon. Not only did Digital Authority Partners help us basically create a working website from scratch and optimize it in terms of user experience, they also translated our website so that it could reach our intended users in both English and Spanish.

Digital Authority Partners consistently delivered the intended deliverables on time. They were always available for video conferences and phone calls, and when it was determined that a more direct communication link was necessary due to the difficulties working with our internal design team and Digital Authority Partner's development team, they even established a cross-team Slack channel to improve the communication process. 

At times the project experienced difficulties due to misunderstandings related to language barriers and cultural differences (our internal team speaks primarily Spanish and is based in Mexico, while Digital Authority Partners' team spoke English), they made every effort to make the process as smooth and responsive as possible.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

Digital Authority Partners had a commanding knowledge of website development and SEO strategy. They established clear recommendations and provided ample evidence to support those recommendations. 

In addition, when it became clear that our internal team was unable to deliver some of the needed content in a timely manner, Digital Authority Partners was able to adjust to the changing scope requirements of our relationship effectively to make up for some of our deficiencies and still bring a completed website to fruition.

Are there any areas for improvement or something Digital Authority Partners could have done differently?

Digital Authority Partners performed extremely well, and we are very satisfied with the website which was created. One minor improvement would be to provide a monthly itemized breakdown of the services provided. 

The scope of the project changed significantly over its course, and although Digital Authority Partners was always willing and able to provide this information when requested, a more formal process for delivering the information (such as a itemized statement included with invoices) could be useful so that we could evaluate the constantly evolving scope and make adjustments more effectively.

The app is still in the discovery phase, but Digital Authority Partners has submitted a bid and reviewed our low-fidelity prototype. They’ve asked questions, raised several points, and made valuable recommendations for how we should proceed with developing the app. 

We’ve also hired their fractional CMO, who we meet with weekly, to consult with us. We’ve been working on creating a realistic plan to market our app following its development. Moreover, he’s helped us create slides for our investor pitch deck and shared insights about the type of content potential investors are looking for.

Digital Authority Partners has been a valuable partner to us. As an early-stage startup entering the healthcare app market, they’ve helped us understand how it works. They’ve also shared information about how to reach our different audiences, which we appreciate. Their level of insight, experience, and guidance has been helpful. 

Although we only meet with the fractional CMO for one hour weekly, he always shares a wealth of knowledge and gives me a lot to think about and discuss with our board for the remainder of the week.

Digital Authority Partners has managed the project effectively;  working with them has been seamless. Their billing process is straightforward, and we typically communicate via email. Moreover, the team is always prepared to answer our many questions, which I appreciate because my learning curve is huge. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

I’ve appreciated Digital Authority Partners’ willingness to dive into each app development step to ensure we understand it. For example, they’ve taught me the importance of prioritizing the app’s UI and functionality. 

The team has also anticipated potential barriers in the market or roadblocks in adopting the app. Instead of burying our heads in the sand, we feel prepared to overcome those barriers because they’ve equipped us with the necessary expertise and market research to minimize issues.

If we had ample funds to dedicate towards development, I’d trust that Digital Authority Partners would execute a thorough process and do an incredible job.

It would be beneficial to have direct communication with the graphic designer so there’s a clear vision of the final output. Sometimes, having an intermediary causes a disconnect.
