I’m the founder of an online marketplace for home maintenance and automation services. We’re basically the middleman between consumers looking for home maintenance services and businesses offering those services. We have a limited number of highly-vetted service providers working on our behalf. What’s more, we’re positioning ourselves as a niche and premium go-to place for people who don’t mind spending the extra money to get the highest standards of service.

The system we’ve developed is very simple. A customer logs into our platform and orders a service, which will then notify a number of service providers.

What challenge were you trying to address with Digiryte?

First, we determined the type of platform we wanted. Next, we designed a UI/UX prototype locally. Lastly, we went to Digiryte for development services.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Digiryte developed the platform’s frontend through Flutter, using an SQL database.

What is the team composition?

We have a project manager, two frontend developers, one backend developer, and one designer.

How did you come to work with Digiryte?

I used Clutch and interviewed people from all over the world, including the United States, the United Kingdom, and Asia. Every vendor said they could do it, but Digiryte asked me questions about issues that would come up a month or two down the line. This gave me the impression that they had some wit so I felt comfortable selecting them. In addition, they offered to do the project in a short amount of time and for the lowest cost. Other companies I contacted told me it’d cost 2–3 times more.

How much have you invested with them?

We’ve spent around $70,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working with Digiryte in November 2019, and our partnership is ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

To be fair, the only challenge was in their UI/UX design revisions, they werent up to my expectation and required back and forth. In all fairness these problems are always inherent when trying to communicate your ideas to a designer, no one can design pages right from the first try. The good thing about Digiryte is that they’re very responsive and don’t take much time to change designs. In order to have full control, I ended up doing the UI/UX designs myself.

How did Digiryte perform from a project management standpoint?

This is where they really shine. Digiryte takes away my headaches. Most of our communication happens through Zoom, and we use Slack for minor questions. They’re really responsive and willing to do everything I request. Their team is honest about timelines and about what things are needed. I like that they don’t charge extra for requested changes.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They’re honest and have good integrity. Digiryte did exactly what we wanted them to do, and they did so in the best possible quality. Everything works fine. If I could describe them in one word, it’d be cooperative.

Are there any areas they could improve?

I had to meet their designer at the office 2–3 times and turn down a lot of the designs. However, that’s just an inherent problem with design in general. I don’t think there’s anything they could’ve done better, really.

Do you have any advice for future clients of theirs?

Make sure to communicate with them 24/7.

We provide services to the marketing departments of organisations that enable them to gain customer insights by consolidating data from multiple sources to give them a true view of each customer or prospect. I am the Managing Director.

Our challenge was to provide a unified view of customer data from many different sources on a mobile platform.

What were your goals for this project?

Our goal was to allow our clients to get a true customer view of all their activities, demographics and behaviors across multiple platforms on a mobile device. This could then provide their sales teams with a complete and up-to-date view of their customers and prospects whilst at exhibitions and on the road.

How did you select this vendor?

We contacted several of the leading mobile application development organisations and assessed them against a matrix of essential, desirable and preferable criterion. We then invited the 3 top companies to put forward and present a written proposal from which we selected Digiryte.

Describe the project in detail.

The project entailed extracting, verifying and importing customer, transactional, behavioural, commercial and demographic information and consolidating this into a single data repository. The information was then built into a mobile web application where sales and marketing staff could interrogate and analyse the data remotely.

What was the team composition?

We were assigned a single point of contact for all communication. The team at Digiryte were a good balance of IT and Data experts and our requirements were fully met .... and with a smile!!

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

The sales and marketing teams are now able to immediately gain access to accurate and up-to-date customer and prospect information whilst on the go. The insights gained from the analysis of the data has improved our marketing ROI by 25% by optimising marketing campaigns.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

Communication was outstanding throughout. We were regularly informed of progress. They suggested solutions to any issues that arose and they were all dealt with in a positive manner.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

Digiryte was outstanding in many ways. Their communication was top notch. They helped us scope the project properly. They advised on the technical and security aspects of the project as well as the most appropriate data structures and technical infrastructure. More importantly, they delivered the project on budget and on time.

What were your goals for this project?

To integrate the different processes of the company to enable synchronised just in time working, and allow inter-departmental visibility for multiple projects being worked on. Specifically, manufacturing, finance, procurement, sales, treasury and other departments. Visibility of data to be based as per members banded status, to allow critical top line data to be visible only to the visible to the leadership team.

Can you share any information that demonstrates the impact that this project has had on your business?

We finally have a custom CRM that is unlike anything out of the box available on the market. It took months to finally choose the right partner, but with Digiryte, we hit the nail on the head. Now our business is fully equipped to deal with the rapid expansion plans we have confirmed ahead. All out departments know the status of any project in micro detail at any given point and we can manage what is visible to whom. Thank you Digiryte for the amazing work.

How was project management arranged and how effective was it?

Through dedicated project manager who spoke to us daily and visited us multiple times to resolve bottlenecks in the operations of the company to make it more streamlined to ensure the CRM is as used as well as it was built to be.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

The results speak for themselves. Excellent communication, time management to work around the schedules of the different departments with minimum hinderance to the day to day operations. Outstanding project planning and business analysis.

Are there any areas for improvement?

We only wish we could have had the CRM sooner. We used Slack, Monday.com, Sugar & Sage. It all got a bit too much and there was no clear line of signs and a lot of duplication. The CRM had a lot to accomplish, so it is understandable it took the time it did to create and perfect it, however we wish we had it sooner.

What challenge were you trying to address with Digiryte?

We were about to release an Android and iOS app, and we hired Digiryte to assess the app.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Digiryte was supposed to analyze the app and tell us what we needed to improve. Then, they usually provide a quote for the best way to build up the processes. They were supposed to cover 24 different topics and give us a detailed plan to improve the codebase and the features.

How did you come to work with Digiryte?

We found them on Clutch. They had a lot of really positive reviews, but we were really disappointed with the results of our project.

How much have you invested with them?

We spent £1,200 (approximately $1,560 USD), but they’ve given us a 15% refund because of the quality of their work was so poor.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working together in December 2019, and the project was supposed to be completed in two weeks, but they didn’t start until five weeks later and finished eight weeks after the agreed-upon timeline.

How did your relationship with the vendor evolve?

As they continued to delay our project, they gave us excuses after excuses as to why it wasn’t done properly and why it was taking so long.

We only got the results because we pestered them. The review they gave us was horrible. A child could have put together the spreadsheet they gave us.

They only reviewed about 15 points, and the final product they gave us only had about ten columns. Next to each one they just commented “good,” “almost fine,” or “fine.” But what does that even mean? It was completely useless information and not at all worth what we spent.

We complained a bit, and they gave us a little more information, but it still wasn’t something we’d consider paying for.

How was project management handled?

They have a virtual office in Manchester, near where we are, but they outsource all of their work. The service they provided was shockingly terrible. Their phone number goes to a receptionist for the whole building, not just their offices, and it’s a complete waste of time.

The CEO said they’d get back to us within 24 hours, but whenever they did, there were just more excuses. Nothing was delivered on time.

What advice do you have for clients with similar needs to yours?

Don’t use them all.

Digiryte is well-reputed for continuously providing the highest levels of service at all times. Regrettably, in this instance, we fell short of delivering to those standards due to an unexpected shortage of staff over Christmas and New Year’s, which extended the project deadline by three weeks. Even though we do expect our clients to be more understanding in such matters, we take feedback extremely seriously, and take every opportunity to learn from our mistakes and improve our quality of service and standards even further to ensure those short-comings are recognised and addressed immediately.

It is unfortunate, however, that the accuracy of information presented in this review has not been verified by the Clutch team. For clarification, the client did confirm receipt of fully satisfactory deliverables and was still voluntary offered a partial refund as a customer service gesture for the delay.

The Digiryte team remains committed to continue providing exceptional service through our own fully in-house team of senior engineers and consultants. SOLUTION

How did you select this vendor?

They came recommended by a client who has used them previously. They were a smaller team than we would usually use but seemed right for the task at hand.

Describe the project and the services they provided in detail.

The basic requirements were already set out, but we needed some input on how to enhance it further, which Digiryte were able to provide adequately. The system comprises of a cloud-based software built in Ruby on Rails and a JavaScript front end. As phase 2 of the project, we also commissioned Digiryte to build mobile and tablet interfaces for data presentations, which were built in Flutter

What was the team composition?

We had a project manager as a single point of contact and she was excellent. I believe the team consisted of a varying number of backend and frontend engineers, designers and testers at different phases of the project.

Can you share any information that demonstrates the impact that this project has had on your business?

Compared to our previous processes, currently, we are seeing an average of 28% increase in efficiency within processes that are utilising the new system. We aim to increase this further with continuing enhancements and believe with take this upto 50%.

How was project management arranged and how effective was it?

Project management was great, with only minor delays with a few sprints. The team, overall, delivered better than our expectation. Communication was mainly via Zoom call and Slack, while the project was managed using Azure DevOps. The team managed to work during our desired times and we had no communication issues

What did you find most impressive about this company?

Digiryte was well organized and had excellent management and QA processes in place to ensure swift delivery. We usually expect these from our larger corporate partners.

Are there any areas for improvement?

There were instances where quicker responses would have made the process quicker. However, these were only minor and didn't have a significant impact overall. Besides that, I feel the team an excellent job.

We needed to hire someone to develop our app and understood our design and what we wanted to deliver while differentiating us from the rest of the market.

What was the scope of their involvement?

They developed the app for iOS and Android completely from scratch. This included wireframes, design, layout, and development. We needed the app to be simple to use, with minimal buttons for users to get to the page they wanted. Digiryte understood our vision and was able to achieve it by creating a design that minimized the number of steps on the platform, reducing the number of clicks required to get results from 6-8 clicks to just 2-3 clicks.

We spoke to a project manager on a regular basis and they handled all of our queries and feedback, passing on our requirements to their team.

We just hired a marketing team to grow our presence, but we have 500 users on Android and several thousand using the platform on iOS. So, things are looking good. We can’t speak highly enough of Digiryte’s team because they bent over backward to help us launch our product. They’re a great company to work with, and their team is brilliant. We plan to use them for all updates in the future.

How did Digitrye perform from a project management standpoint?

They kept me informed and regularly asked for feedback and how to improve the app as we went to ensure that they delivered a solid product. With daily updates, they addressed anything we were concerned about by explaining how processes work in layman’s terms.

We’ve never thought of anything they need to improve because they were always on the lookout to make the product better. Before we could even ask the question, they were coming up with even better solutions.

I am a senior member on the account financing team at a quickly growing oil and gas company. We manage logistics and transportation in the industry.

What challenge were you trying to address with Digiryte?

We needed to rework our accounting system, because it was outdated. We were already starting to have issues, but it was important to us that we invest in a modern and mature IT system now to prevent bigger problems in the future when we have a larger operation. We also really wanted the program to be based in the Cloud, so we needed to bring in a separate team.

What was the scope of their involvement?

They helped us migrate from our old accounting software to our new system, which was a huge undertaking. The main part of the project was enabling us to use the Cloud for our systems. For this, they developed the front- and backend of both our website and new mobile app, starting with wireframes and documentation.

We had a team of 7-8 people, including a project manager, designers, and developers that collaborated with our in-house IT person.

We were looking for a cost-effective company that would do the job right. We’ve worked with larger companies in the past, but Digiryte was recommended to us as a reasonably priced package and we were astounded by how much we could save with them. We then scheduled a couple of meetings and started there.

We officially worked together from July 2018- May 2019, but we still reach out with questions.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

I’ve had a really good experience using the system. We went through User Acceptance Testing (UAT) for a couple of months prior to the end of our engagement, which helped eliminate any issues early on. Overall, it was a great experience.

How did Digiryte perform from a project management standpoint?

We used Skype for office communications, but I prefer phone or email if I have an individual question. I was hesitant to work with a company that was so remote, but the project lead made it run smoothly, and that was a surprise. We can still contact our project lead if anything comes up, but we haven’t had any issues.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They complied with everything that we needed from them. The best part is that even though the engagement ended, we still have open communication.

Are there any areas they could improve?

Initially, I wished to get more face-to-face time with them, but ultimately it helped us collaborate much more efficiently. More in-person communication could be nice, but their approach helped save money and time.

I’m the CEO and director of MedzLegal Private Limited. We operate as a bridge between the medical and legal fields of the US market.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What challenge were you trying to address with Digiryte?

We needed to create a portal through which clients could easily upload and review case files. We wanted to automate our processes and make the documentation process easier for our clients to understand. We were looking for a firm that was good with AI and machine learning.

We tried working with other IT firms earlier, but we weren’t satisfied with their output. They were well-versed in IT but not aware of the medical side.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

They are developing our customer portal using AI and automation. Our clients upload records, our production team works on those records, and we provide the output to the clients. Our requirement for Digiryte was a portal with a contact form where people could fill in their details and requirements, upload all their records, and click “submit.” We update the clients automatically on the status of the job, any inquiries that need to be made, and any interim disruptions. 

HIPAA regulations in the US medical field require encryption to safeguard the records, so our requirements include being HIPAA-compliant. We have an early version in place, which uses the encryption standards of the US military. All the files are encrypted before transferring. It also has basic forms, upload functionalities, and automated emailing. The files have dedicated cloud storage. They built it on Ruby on Rails.

So far, we have an early-bird version. It’s the basic UI of how things will be and how they’ll work. The AI component will work only after we’ve gathered more data.

What is the team composition? 

We’re working with six people from their team, including UX designers, content managers, and automation specialists.

How did you come to work with Digiryte?

We met one of their co-founders at a medical-legal conference. He explained what they did, and we were quite impressed. Since he was also a medical professional with vast knowledge in the field, we thought they would be the perfect fit for IT support. 

How much have you invested with them?

We’re planning to spend $60,000. 

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working with Digiryte in November 2018. We have a set date of three years from now for the final delivery.

We’ve been satisfied so far. We’ve introduced the early version to a few clients, and they’re using it on a trial basis. We’ve gotten positive responses from them, and they say that this portal is going to be exceptionally helpful for them. We’re spending much of our time following up, and people have been satisfied with the basic sample we’ve given them. The end product should be much more satisfying as a result.

They’re quite good. I receive regular updates on what’s going on, and I have good visibility on what they’re doing. I appreciate their efforts to keep us informed.

The overall experience is great. Something that stands out to me is their ability to help me understand IT terminology and concepts. They are so humble. They didn’t simply do what they knew.

I’m the co-director of OoberFit, a fitness-based app that connects customers to fitness trainers, classes, and gyms. Users can book through the app.

What challenge were you trying to address with Digiryte?

We needed a development team to build our fitness app, including the whole wireframing process, design, and coding.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

They’re taking it from the idea stage all the way to market. We started with the discovery phase to go over the business plan, after which they did the wireframing. Now, they’re in the design stage and are bringing quite a lot of their own ideas to the table. Once this is complete, they’ll give the designs to their developers and get it coded.

What is the team composition?

There’s one main project manager that we communicate with. He communicates with the rest of the team, so I don’t know how many people are on the job.

How did you come to work with Digiryte?

We spoke with quite a few development companies and could tell that the people at Digiryte knew what they were talking about. They had several ideas on how to do a few things. We had a really good chat at the start, and they were willing to give us a decent price based on the future of working with us. They were looking at potentially working with us for the next few years on various projects. In the end, I saw a good business sense from them, and they were willing to offer us flexibility.

Furthermore, Digiryte is one of the first companies to be using the Flutter platform, which means that we can launch on both iOS and Android from the very start for a much lower price. No other app development company has been able to offer that.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working together in January 2019, and the collaboration is ongoing. We’re planning to launch around June.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

It’s been good working with them because instead of us having to be really pedantic on changing little things, they come up with better ideas than what we have since we’re not technical. They make our job very easy in this sense. They’re experts and a key part in changing how the UX is going to look.

How did Digiryte perform from a project management standpoint?

Communication with the project manager is really good. He’s proactive about asking questions or coming up with his own ideas. Once we agree on what we’re going to do, he gets the work done and comes back to us for approval.

Digiryte executes on a very high level. We use Slack sometimes, but we generally set up calls via Skype or Zoom when we have things to discuss. We did one call a day for about two weeks straight at the start. Now, we have a call once a week and a few messages over Slack.

What did you find most impressive about them?

When signing the contract at the beginning, they were willing to give us a really good deal. I’m sure they solely did it intending to get future work with us, which shows really good business acumen. Their owners think further ahead than what’s normal for app development firms.

We also really appreciate how the project manager provides his own ideas. Some of the designs that came through were things we wouldn’t have thought of. Overall, they’re a key part of building the app.

Are there any areas they could improve?

Communication occasionally suffers due to connectivity issues, so some key points are accidentally missed because we’re never communicating in-person. Regardless of that, their project manager is great.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

In the past, we’ve gotten to development, and we’re happy with the code, but then we want to change designs and add ideas to the project. By then, it’s obviously too late to implement our changes. If clients want to have a smooth process from start to finish, they need to make sure that they work out the entire scope beforehand.

Ensure that all wireframes are completed and approved. Each piece has to be right rather than going back to the vendor later and asking for more designs. It creates a massive mess and several delays.
