I work in marketing for Close Brothers Asset Management. For nearly 50 years, we've provided financial education in the workplace to some of the best-known employers in the UK.

What challenge were you trying to address with Digiryte?

We wanted to develop an online "financial wellbeing fitness test" for our employers and individuals across the UK.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

We sent them the specifications to guide their work. They followed our guidelines for system architecture and design elements and helped the project grow. The web application is almost complete, and we expect it to evolve over time.

Digiryte is creating a diagnostic tool to help individuals and companies understand their financial fitness. Based on user responses to a series of questions, it generates an indexed score within the seven steps of wellbeing and shows how those results score against other individuals in their demographic categories. To maintain & manage their back-end operations, a unique, simplified dashboard was built with the right metrics to keep track of 24/7.

We worked with an account manager who oversaw their team.

How did you come to work with Digiryte?

I’ve known the account manager for several years and worked with him at a previous company. He was the main reason we chose to work with Digiryte. He’s the perfect middleman, very knowledgeable and understanding. He operates with integrity, and he made Digiryte the obvious solution for us.

What is the status of this engagement?

The project started around July 2018. We just launched at the end of January 2019, but they're still building the CMS.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We've just had a limited launch this week and are only marketing the app to existing clients so far to stay ahead of our competition. Because the app is so new, we don’t have any concrete evidence to demonstrate success yet.

We still have a dialogue to make sure we meet benchmarks set by other apps, and they liaise with various design agencies who are building other assets for the launch. They’re making sure the frontend look and feel is cohesive across everything we’re doing.

How did Digiryte perform from a project management standpoint?

They seem to work constantly, which amazes me. They turned the whole project around on time and on budget, and they kept us updated with tools like Trello. They made it easy for us to keep track of their tasks, and we’re pleased with the engagement.

What did you find most impressive about them?

The amount of time and effort they dedicated to us before the launch was impressive. They were proactive, communicative, and the account management is second to none. They sent us updates at all hours and are a lovely group to work with.

Whenever you develop a project like this, make sure your brief is detailed and correct. If you are clear with your objectives and specifications, you will have an easier time.

I’m the co-founder of Vapewunder. We’re an e-liquid subscription company. Our customers fill out a profile, and we send them monthly or bimonthly boxes with a surprise selection of e-liquids based on their preferences.

What challenge were you trying to address with Digiryte?

Our company was gaining traction in the market, and we were starting to outgrow our basic WordPress website. It was slow and incapable of processing a high volume of data, which was hurting our business. We urgently needed a stronger and more professional website. Additionally, we wanted to automate the box-assembling process with a curation tool.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Migrating information from our original website, Digiryte fully designed and developed our new platform. They built an administrative tool using Python, and the infrastructure for product listings and customer profiles. As part of a rebranding initiative, they also redesigned our logo.

Customers are first prompted to choose a subscription model and complete an interview process so our system can get an idea of their e-liquid preferences. Then, the platform creates user profiles from their provided information. We run the profile against our full database of e-liquid products to curate a box that matches the users’ preferences. We used to put the boxes together manually, but this tool is much more intuitive.

What is the team composition?

Naresh (Senior Software Development Engineer, Digiryte) was our main point of contact, acting as both programmer and team lead. He managed a background team of designers.

How did you come to work with Digiryte?

We contacted several mid-sized vendors that we found through a Google search. We had a Skype call with a representative from 5–10 companies. Shoaib (Co-Founder and Managing Director, Digiryte) took the call for Digiryte, and he was very convincing. He understood what we needed and translated that into technical requirements. We explained that we needed a quick turnaround, and he seemed more than capable. Based on that—and a competitive price—it was an easy choice.

How much have you invested with them?

We spent €50,000 ($56,635 USD) on the project.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working with them in June 2016–2017.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

They delivered above and beyond our expectations. Digiryte produced a professional and well-built platform. We’ve received positive feedback from our customers. We had a few complaints about duplicate bills, but we’ve resolved the issue. The automated box curation has really benefitted our business. It helps us save time, track our inventory, and provide more personalized services. We’re now able to focus more on marketing efforts.

How did Digiryte perform from a project management standpoint?

We had a bit of a bumpy ride, but it wasn’t entirely their fault. Our request for a quick turnover deviated from their normal scheduling procedures. They preferred to thoroughly asses the overall timeline before structuring each milestone. We really pushed them to work as fast as possible. On top of that, there were some unforeseen issues that stemmed from external parties, like PayPal. The delays built up, which continued to push back the completion date.

All that said, we’re still happy with the experience. We’re even working with them on a different project right now, following the same management procedure as the first. In terms of communication, we mainly spoke via Skype. I talked to Naresh for my day-to-day needs. Additional team members would sit in if we were discussing bigger issues. They were extremely responsive throughout the project.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They care about their clients. We asked a lot of them, but they never said no to a challenge. It was clear that they wanted to deliver the best product possible. Their problem-solving skills are impressive. Given the obstacles we ran into, they had to work additional hours to get us back on track. Furthermore, we initially paid for a four-month project, but we soon realized it would take longer to complete the scope of work. Digiryte didn’t charge us any more for the rest of the year.

Are there any areas they could improve?

They should’ve pushed back when we asked them to work faster than their normal procedures.

Any advice for potential customers?

Clients need to clearly explain the scope of the project and their expectations because some information can get lost in translation. They should prioritize tasks before assigning the work to Digiryte. This will set the foundation for smooth collaboration.

I’m the IT manager of a product management firm.  We handle check-ins and check-outs for rental agents, as well as property inventories and inspections while the tenant is onsite, to verify the return of security deposits.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What challenge were you trying to address with Digiryte?

We’d hired two other companies prior to them that didn’t work out. When Digiryte came in, they tried to work with the previous code and found they couldn’t, so they’ve been redeveloping everything from scratch.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

They’re creating a web-based application that our head office will use to manage reservations. They’re also building an Android/iOS app that will integrate with our web app.

We’re setting up a portal for clients to use for booking jobs. From there, the head office will get alerts on their side of the app and allocate jobs to our contractors. Contractors will have the ability to accept jobs through the app as well, and they’ll be able to fill out their reports and upload pictures. Once that process is complete and verified by our head office, the app will also automatically generate invoices to send to our clients.

In terms of development, they handle all of the coding using Flutter, React Native and Ruby. One of my colleagues has provided them with basic design sketches to follow. A lot of our feedback is spent explaining why we need certain design elements in order to maximize the app’s efficiency for our employees. Right now, we’re in the process of A/B testing and plan to launch the system in November 2018.

We have frontend, Android, and iOS developers.

How did you come to work with Digiryte?

We started searching for another vendor once it became clear that our second development company wasn’t going to get the results we needed. When we came across Digiryte, we set up a meeting and were pleased with how they handled it, so we decided to move forward with them.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working with them in April 2018. They’re still working on the app, but we intend for it to be an ongoing relationship once that’s finished.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

They’ve been a major improvement over the previous companies we hired, and the development process is nearly complete. A colleague and I test the code personally, so we’ve been able to gauge the quality of their work based on our experience in the industry. They’re prompt about resolving errors and making suggested changes. We won’t know how much the app will speed up reporting times for our contractors until it’s out in the field, but I expect that Digiryte will continue to respond quickly to our concerns and minimize downtime.

How did Digiryte perform from a project management standpoint?

They deliver great communication and are a pleasure to work with. We use Slack for everyday communication and Skype for teleconferences. We also use GitLab so we can go back and forth quickly during our testing period. In addition to being so responsive, they’ve also adhered pretty well to the schedule they initially gave us.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They prioritize communication in a way that our previous vendors didn’t. We can get in touch with them around the clock, though we don’t take advantage of that fact. Another thing I really appreciate is how well they listen and collaborate with us. If we make a suggestion and they find a better way to implement it, they’ll come to us with the recommendation rather than using more inefficient code. Overall, they’ve been delivering quality work at a quick pace.

Are there any areas they could improve?

No, not at the moment.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Know what you want. If everything is planned well, it minimizes delays due to project changes and allows Digiryte to meet the deadlines they promise.

I’m a former series producer for a production company that makes programs for the national broadcasters in the U.K.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What challenge were you trying to address with Digiryte?

We had an idea for an entertainment program that would run in conjunction with a sponsor. The concept was to see if someone’s friend or AI would do better at matching two single people. We needed a partner to develop the algorithm and website to run it on.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Digiryte helped develop a piece of software that took someone’s social media profiles and their answers to a 120-question personality test and ran it through a compatibility algorithm. The program paired people up and gave each couple a compatibility percentage, ranking them from most to least compatible and displaying the results. Digiryte also developed the website, which only needed to be functional and not aesthetic because our internal team was the only one using it. Digiryte did all of this within a nine-week timeframe.

We mainly worked with a team of developers.

How did you come to work with Digiryte?

We found three suppliers and evaluated them closely. We chose Digiryte because they could translate their techspeak into our non-technical language and promised they could deliver within our tight window. They weren’t the most competitive option in terms of cost, but they had the infrastructure and skills to deliver on time, so we hired them.

What is the status of this engagement?

We worked together from June–August 2018.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

The website performed exactly how we envisioned. We needed someone who could deliver something that matched our sponsor’s ad campaign and also fit within the broadcasting schedule, and Digiryte did both.

How did Digiryte perform from a project management standpoint?

They clearly established expectations and project milestones. We held regular Skype sessions to discuss updates and any questions, and we also communicated over Slack.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They knew how to talk our language and avoid tech-heavy jargon. Right from the beginning, more straightforward told us what they could do and weren’t afraid to make changes to the scope to make it easier or more cost-effective. They offered functionality that we hadn’t even thought of because that’s not our area of expertise. They promised a functioning website skeleton but delivered something even better.

Are there any areas they could improve?

A few things got lost in translation. Sometimes, I had to look up a few technical terms that they just assumed we knew. Making their communication even clearer would improve their services.

I am the general manager of Blackpool Hotels, part of the Big Blue Hotel chain.

What challenge were you trying to address with Digiryte?

Our website unfortunately was not updated since 2003. We wanted to address the marketing and technology aspects of our website and address the outdated servers to make it easier for guests to book a room online.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

We agreed on a platform to build our website and started the development process from the ground up. Shoaib integrated the website from its original server to the platform other hotels in our chain use.

What is the team composition?

Shoaib, the founder of the company, was my direct contact. Other members from the hotel IT and marketing departments were in contact with Shoaib and his team at Digiryte. I was mainly copied on emails and involved when needed.

How did you come to work with Digiryte?

I learned about Digiryte through a friend when I was handling business. He told me that Digiryte was a local company down the road from us. I received quotes from about three other companies and ended up selecting Digiryte for the project.

How much have you invested with them?

We invested around $12,000 with them for this project.

What is the status of this engagement?

The new website has been live for three months and we are looking into working with them again on another website development for one of our other hotels.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

In the three months since the website launched, there’s been a 25% increase in room bookings online. Our returning clients told us that the website is much easier to navigate and more pleasing to the eye. They also told us that it is easier for them to compare the price of our hotel rooms to others, along with finding other key information. Our clients also enjoy that they can easily book on their iPhones and iPads.

How did Digiryte perform from a project management standpoint?

Shoaib was very easy to communicate with. He copied me on his emails and kept me updated routinely with status updates. Shoaib often responded within a couple of days.

What did you find most impressive about them?

I appreciated the ease of working with Shoaib and his team. They communicated very well with us. It was great that he kept me updated every so often with a status update and price quote.

Are there any areas they could improve?

They did a great job overall. Sometimes the transfer of content would be slow between our IT and marketing departments with Shoaib’s team.

Do you have any advice for future clients of theirs?

In general, I would absolutely recommend Digiryte. I would look into the different content building platforms they offer and choose what is best for your company.

I'm the founder and CEO of Direct Opportunities Network (DON). Our company connects high net worth and ultra-high net worth individuals and offers them exclusive business opportunities.

What challenge were you trying to address with Digiryte?

When we first launched, we conducted our services through manual processes. Practically speaking, we couldn't even manage 15 clients a week through just phone calls and face-to-face meetings. With a digital platform, we could expand our client base into the hundreds. We hired Digiryte to create an interactive website, application, and broader online system to upscale our business.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Digiryte used their technical expertise to scale up our business model through the digital space. We'd been working with other developers for 18 months to finalize our ideas for the look and feel. When Digiryte got involved, we already had all our ideas for the look and feel finalized. Based on these materials and the heavy lifting we'd done, Digiryte delivered our products quite quickly.

The team built a platform that lets us pre-populate information from business opportunities and digitally disseminates them on a global scale. As an example of how this worked, one of our early-stage clients needed additional funding for a two billion-pound real estate development. Having to meet in person limited the number of potential investors. Using our mobile or web app, a financial institution or ultra-high net worth individual anywhere from China to Spain could source the opportunity. 

What is the team composition? 

The team we work with from Digiryte is typically compromised by five individuals. Two people essentially are the visionaries and allowed us to brainstorm with them. They relay information to our project manager who then positions his development team to follow our instructions.

How did you come to work with Digiryte?

Our former team hadn’t been delivering our desired output or look and feel within the set timeframe. After finding Digiryte through a LinkedIn search, we contacted them to explain our project and invited them to one of our events. After they came down to see our environment and clients, we hired them to develop the three solutions that the other two developers had failed to complete. 

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working with Digiryte in February of this year. They're currently working on the final testing stages for two of three products. The application and interactive website are complete and ready to go live in July 2018. The next phase of our project will be expanding to a broader PC-based platform.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Digiryte delivered the exact products we wanted. Whenever we used the app or website, it was always in line with the expectations we wanted to fulfill. It seems like they carefully recorded everything we said and referred back to it during development. Clear communication channels helped us fostered a healthy relationship. Rather than speaking once a week or only using email, we had an engaging mode of contact. I can't remember a single incident where they deviated from our requests.

As our ongoing technology partner, Digiryte has been fantastically knowledgeable and understanding. I appreciate that they've taken the time to get to know our business. I can measure the quality of their work with confidence based on past experience. My team had already tried to work with two other developers who took our project in a scattered direction and left us in the dark. Development is usually a laborious, time consuming, and stressful process. With Digiryte, I've had no stress to speak of.

Our process was very uniform and consistent. Digiryte has met with us in person and even attended our events to see how our live environment works. They completed all the work in adherence to the specific timeline and exact specifications we discussed face-to-face. They took relevant notes in our meetings and set up a WhatsApp group chat for us to always be in contact.

For the first month, we held three online conference calls per week. They’d brainstorm and create wireframes based on our existing data and the IP we'd already built for the app. As we pivoted into the first layer of actual programming, we scaled down to two conference calls per week. There was a deliverance point after each one as far as we were concerned.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Digiryte walks us through the process from an educational perspective in a way that really makes us feel cared about. They're a productive team that works hard to help clients grow their vision. Having an open line of communication empowers us to relay requests and provides transparency about the path they’re taking.

Are there any areas they could improve?

If they hired more staff, Digiryte could have a lot more clients and grow into a five-billion-dollar company. I’m sure this company is going to get to the top of the U.K. Technology development awards. My experience has been great. I don’t know how many teammates they have now, but I'm sure if they scale up they'll have more happy clients like myself. I can't think of anything that they should change. Actually, I almost hope they don't so I can keep getting this level of service.

Any new client should just relax and trust that they've found the right partner. I suggest being honest about where you are with your development and hold nothing back. Enjoy their professionalism, and they'll support you step-by-step through the process.

I’m a one-man startup venturing into the mobile app world with an image manipulation app.

What challenge were you trying to address with Digiryte?

I was looking for a company that could hold my hand through the process of developing my app. I wanted a company to develop the app from start to finish.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

They’re building my app for Android. I gave them the brief with color schemes and graphic design elements. They came back to me with a design to sign off on. They had a few ideas for icons that I integrated with my own designs.

It’s been a problematic project with quite a few issues. The project got started almost a year ago and was originally meant to take two months. The app is quite simplistic in its function but it has been quite challenging to get it to work. That’s why it has taken so long to develop. We’re getting close to launch now.

I’ve tested the app at the same time as they’re doing their own in-house tests. One challenge we had that contributed to delays was that the screens on Android phones changed. Because the app’s functionality is screen-based, the bezel being taken off of the screen caused us a lot of problems. I purchased the latest phone to do parallel testing because they couldn’t replicate the issues themselves as the phone wasn’t yet available to them in India at the time.

I initially liaised with a UK-based salesperson. Once I had committed to the project and the cost, the project manager became my main point of contact. I also communicate with the developer.

How did you come to work with Digiryte?

I found them on a review site. I spoke to a number of other developers that had consistent reviews. A key criterion for me was the fixed price given that it’s a personal investment. I also wanted someone to hold my hand rather than just paying someone to develop the app and leave the rest up to me. I felt happy with Digiryte from the outset so I signed up with them.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

The project should have taken a couple of months and instead has taken almost a year. But, ultimately, I think we've ended up with a far better product than if it had been completed in the two months. They’ve been great at finding ways to work around the issues in their designs. That's why I don't have a single complaint. It's taken a long time but hopefully, it will yield better results.

I'm quite a thorough person. That combined with the fact that it’s my personal money—which I don’t want to waste—has probably made me a difficult customer. I was pleased to be involved in the testing and I think they appreciated the consistent feedback. I think what they’ve created for me is something special. I’m really happy with it.

How did Digiryte perform from a project management standpoint?

We've had regular emails and communications. They've always said that they'll get in contact with me and they have. They’ve kept me in the loop, even as they’re doing something new that has taken longer than both sides anticipated.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Their ability to solve problems is one thing that has been great. With it being my idea, I had fully laid out the concept and functionality. There was one issue in particular that I didn’t know how to address. Within a few seconds, the project manager had solved the issue. Their problem-solving skills are second to none.

Are there any areas they could improve?

As a complete novice, I would have benefitted if I'd been told up front that there were certain things I might need to do. For example, we needed to have written terms and conditions. The request was a bit last minute. If I had known, I could have completed the task in good time in order to keep things going.

I’m an IT infrastructure analyst and project manager for a large international university with over 30,000 students. I’m responsible for the implementation of a data collection system alongside other critical systems.

For what projects/services did your company hire Digiryte?

We required a data collection system with a web interface alongside a mobile app for the main purpose of collecting data from applicants and importing it into our CRM. We opted for a bespoke system as our current in-house web app was overcomplicated and the workflow needed improvements.

What were your goals for this project?

We wanted a better data entry process and increase the data import speed. We also needed a secure external-facing website with two-factor authentication. The mobile app would help us collect data while out and about during road shows. We also needed to ensure that the project is compliant with the new general data protection regulations.

We knew of them from word of mouth. Their reviews on Clutch also supported our decision.

Can you go into detail about the services they provided and the scope of the project?

Digiryte provided a technical lead. We knew what we wanted but weren’t sure how to achieve it with the technology that’s now available. We’re using Ruby on Rails and Angular for the frontend and React Native for the mobile apps.

The team consisted of five developers and a technical lead from their side. The rest of the team consisted of project manager, a customer lead, and three board members on our end.

I’m the vice president of technology for a beauty salon for women and kids.

We needed someone to develop custom software and a website. I wanted an end-to-end software to maintain our salon services and day-to-day billing utilization. We wanted the software to automate everything.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Digiryte used Ruby on Rails and MySQL database for the software. I can see my analytics, do billing, review employee performance, and view feedback all in one software. Digiryte made it easy to use on a daily basis, which was an important feature we wanted.

They also built a unique and special website that showed exactly what we do, our specials, and our menus. They used WordPress and PHP for the web dev.

There were three key team members, but I mainly had contact with the developers. We didn’t need a main point of contact because everyone was capable of managing themselves, for the most part.

I’m the clinical lead for the Northern Neonatal Network, which is one of the largest neonatal networks in terms of geographical coverage and it consists of 11 neonatal units (NHS hospitals) catering for over 30,000 births per year. Its primary focus is on improving the care of babies.

What were your goals for this project?

We wanted to have a high-quality website for professionals and parents in England. The website was built to provide guidelines, reports, meetings for professionals, and advice for parents.

How did you select this vendor?

They were selected following a competitive interview process where they had the opportunity to showcase what they could build for us.

Describe the project in detail.

Digiryte initially conducted a face-to-face presentation of what they could offer and brought a demo website, which was very helpful. After selecting them, we exchanged several emails discussing possible templates. In the end, they were able to build the site that we had in mind.

We sent them all the information that the site needed to have. We also spoke a lot over the phone to discuss how to better develop it. It was completed early this year and turned out to be better than what we expected.

There was a project manager that supported us throughout the development and had a good understanding of what we needed. We found her very helpful, easy to get in touch with, quick to respond, and always polite and helpful.

The website was launched this month and we showcased it at our board meeting, receiving excellent feedback. We were happy with the progress and the end product. The website looks excellent and caters to all our needs.
