Are there any areas for improvement or something DESVERSE could have done differently?
While our experience with DESVERSE was overwhelmingly positive, there are a few areas where there could have been potential for improvement or different approaches:

• Clarifying Pricing: Providing more detailed and transparent pricing information upfront could have been beneficial. While the quality of their work was excellent, having a clearer understanding of the costs associated with the project from the beginning would have helped with budget planning.
• Feedback Incorporation: While DESVERSE was generally receptive to our feedback, there were a few instances where we felt that some feedback might not have been fully incorporated. More extensive collaboration on certain design elements could have further aligned their work with our vision. It's important to note that these are relatively minor points in the context of an otherwise highly successful collaboration. DESVERSE's strengths far outweigh any potential areas for improvement, and their dedication to client satisfaction was evident throughout the project.

Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m a business manager at a company that works on the growth of people trying to get more sales on platforms like Upwork and LinkedIn. We try to generate more leads for them and help them register their accounts, and make their portfolio better.

What challenge were you trying to address with Focus Digital Syndicate?

We hired Focus Digital for a design project. Specifically, we worked on an e-commerce store; the team handled the UI/UX design tasks and made some edits for us. 

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

In the beginning, we gave Focus Digital our files, including our sketches, competitor websites, and ideas. We showed them what we wanted to get. From there, the team sent me around 20 examples on Behance and Dribble of how my website would look like. We chose one, and then they designed the store using Figma.

What is the team composition?

The first person we talked to was Max (Head of Growth). I also had direct communication with the lead designer of the team. 

How did you come to work with Focus Digital Syndicate?

I was looking for a Ukrainian company on LinkedIn. We searched for newly launched companies because we wanted to support Ukraine. That was how we found Focus Digital. I looked up their portfolio, and it was attractive. They’d done similar projects to mine, so I decided to go with them.

How much have you invested with them?

We paid around $4,000. 

What is the status of this engagement?

The project lasted from July–August 2023.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

I appreciate the two main Focus Digital teammates that worked on this project. They helped me find the design I wanted to have. Their work has increased our website engagement, too. It became easier for users to find what they wanted on our website because of its good UX design and usability. Overall, we had a truly functional website, and we received what we wanted to get. 

How did Focus Digital Syndicate perform from a project management standpoint?

Our team and their design team communicated through Slack. We used Jira for project management. For budget, we ensured we picked the right designs first before deciding on how much we could spend. Ultimately, Focus Digital delivered work on time and met our deadline. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

Focus Digital’s biggest strength was their speed. They responded quickly even if we contacted them late. Their members always replied within five minutes, and this played a crucial role in our project. On top of that, their pricing and design quality were great. 

Are there any areas they could improve?

I wish they had a better portfolio. They did have portfolios, but one was on Figma, while another was on Behance — they were in different places. I only wanted one link where I could review all the projects they’d completed before.
