We’re making more posts now without needing to spend all day doing it. We used to spend hours each week writing stuff. Now it takes under 30 minutes. We’re also seeing more people comment and share our content, which is nice.

We’ve worked with Deligence Technologies for a while now, and since they’ve handled our app development before, it made sense to bring them on for this AI project too. They started by running five workshops with us and those were eye-opening. Their team helped us focus on what areas in our business needed the most attention and how AI could make a real difference.

After that, we got into cleaning up our data, which was honestly more complicated than I expected. They worked with us to make sure there weren’t any anomalies messing things up. From there, they gave us reports and insights that were solid.

Our two main goals were:  

1. Predicting outcomes with over 95% accuracy, like knowing how likely it is to fill job posts.

We engaged Deligence to help us develop a mobile application.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

When we started working with Deligence, they had already developed an application similar to what we were looking for. We worked with their existing framework and collaborated to create documentation for our application, including additional features specific to our users. We provided them with entertainment and images, and they developed the application using Flutter. 

The team has deployed the application to three environments: a web application, iOS, and Android. The application has a gifting feature where users can pay other individuals with money or creative concepts. We also have user-generated concepts that users can gift as subscriptions to others. Deligence has also provided API integration services, including Google Maps, to offer users a street view. Currently, we’re in the soft launch and testing phase, and they’re helping us get the app approved by Apple. 

Aside from creating the application, they’ve used their research expertise to conduct a SWOT analysis, where they compared our company with several competitors in the marketplace. The team has also helped develop brand guidelines for a company we were acquiring. They’ve worked alongside us to develop robust brand guidelines, including a logo, color scheme, topography, and other features.

We’ve worked with 5–7 ongoing teammates, including Sagar (Lead Developer), Sanjay (CEO & Co-Founder), a backend programer, a Flutter programmer, and a project manager. We’ve also worked with a few branding team members.

We found Deligence through online research. We narrowed our search down to three companies, noticed that they’d developed an application similar to what we were looking for, and reached out to them. Ultimately, we went with Deligence due to their Flutter programming expertise and their pricing.

We haven’t launched the application yet, so we don’t have data-driven metrics. However, I can share that we’re happy with the functionality Deligence has delivered. The app aligns with our programming and functionality asks, and we’re satisfied with the look and feel. Additionally, they’ve helped us build the app’s gifting functionality, which is a huge differentiator for our company.

How did Deligence Technologies Inc. perform from a project management standpoint?

We’ve enjoyed working with Deligence, and they’ve delivered on our asks. We’ve used an agile methodology, GitHub, and Google Workspace to manage the project and share files. We’ve also used Upwork for ongoing communication, which has enabled us to record conversations and share them with our investment group. The open communication and transparency have made our investors comfortable that the work we ask for is completed correctly and on time. 

Some of the timelines for deliverables have fluctuated, but we don’t fault them for that because they’ve resulted from complex technology integrations. For example, it took longer than anticipated to integrate Google Maps. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

I’m impressed with how much they care about our partnership and delivering solid results. Due to the COVID-19 Pandemic, we faced challenges during the development process, and Deligence tried their best to accommodate and create our application in a virtual environment. Working with them has been a unique experience, and we appreciate the partnership. 

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

We were trying to build the plane as we were flying it, which was our own mistake as a startup. I advise you to define exactly what you’re trying to develop before engaging Deligence to program it. Try to fine-tune your requirements with diagrams and screenshots of other applications so you can be as specific as possible.

My team developed the concept for the app and used a template to build out the app's first iteration; we wanted to see the functionalities. Once we understood what we wanted, we brought Deligence Technologies on board for further development. We wanted to use a specific Google software, but I don't remember which one. 

Although the project is done, Deligence Technologies is still making adjustments to ensure the app meets our needs.

I first spoke to the owner and project developer. Since moving forward with the project, we've worked exclusively with the project manager and several developers.

Deligence Technologies has delivered the product we want, but we won't release it to the public until September 2022. We're thrilled with where we are at the moment. 

How did Deligence Technologies Pvt. Ltd. perform from a project management standpoint?

We have weekly conference calls with the project manager and developers through WhatsApp to further product development. We use Upwork to track developers' time. Our project management isn't very detailed because I focus on the final outcome, not the specific code. 

When we started building apps a few years ago, communication was one of the biggest challenges. In the past, I've found it difficult to contact developers, especially if they're overseas. However, Deligence Technologies is very diligent. They respond to my texts immediately or within an hour at the latest. Their responsiveness is extremely valuable to me, especially when we're working on projects with investors. 

Another great thing is their billing process. I've never been charged more than I expected. Often, developers will under-communicate the price of the work and how much work there is. That isn't the case with Deligence Technologies. They're careful about tracking their billable hours and stick to the guidelines I've laid out. I don't have to worry about a $150,000 project turning into a $250,000 project.

There is no guesswork when it comes to working with Deligence Technologies. They're great at communicating clearly with us — they outline all the requirements we've requested and relay them back to us.

We’re in phase two of our project. We’ve done a lot of work with Deligence in developing new features and making substantial changes to the product. They’ve implemented substantial changes in the product, such as new architecture and a new UI. They also did microservices and added React and Node.js to the technologies that they use.

Deligence is also doing more marketing work as well, primarily Google advertising and SEO. They do a really good job creating content.

There have been a couple of changes, but they’ve all been good. Two people from the original six have since changed, but I’m super happy with them. In fact, I added another development resource. They also added testing resources, which has been really helpful.

The team gets a lot done because they are resourceful and responsive. I’ve worked with several good providers, but this team is at the very top of that list. They leverage R&D resources to solve any problem that arises; they’ll do the necessary research to figure it out.

We hired Deligence Tech because we needed to develop a strong ,reliable, efficient and scalable app and we thought that they are a good fit for this.

How did you select Deligence Technologies Pvt. Ltd.?

We needed a native app because we thought that that native apps only can be specific to our need, so we found that Deligence Tech can do hybrid apps and this type is much less in cost and will provide 85% if not more of the advantages of the native, and the feedback we read about them was very promising.

We created user stories explaining every single detail of the app. They worked on the frontend only (the app), we had other team do for us the backend.

However when we had backend problems they fixed all the issues for us so I think in later projects we can ask them to do both frontend and backend.

I was communicating with developer directly and this was very good for us because in some corporations like our backend team we speak with their project manager and this project manager select part of what we need and shares it with the developer and then we receive 60% of what we need.

In this case we always received 90% to begin with then with small fixes we reach 100%.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

This was a bit tricky because we had another team for backend so we couldn't mange having all of them in one platform however, the communication with Deligence Tech directly was smooth and easy.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

They understood me! When I worked with developers I face an issue of stupidity "no offense" when I say what we need as a feature or as a fix needs to be said to the developers in many different ways, but with Deligence Tech I didn't experience this at all, it was actually the opposite.

Whatever we asked them to do, they did exactly. Sometimes they advice for better solutions and we went with their solutions and they were even better.

Are there any areas for improvement?

I would say, if they can improve the communication in this specific part: When we ask for a feature or a fix, sometimes the existing users get affected by this fix until the update is released.

Sometimes we didn't know that this will happen and the team didn't notify us. It was not disastrous but if we have to know this everytime if it will happen because it might change some of our decisions.

But again most of the times they notified us. Other than this overall I was really happy working with them.
