I’m the CEO and founder of a data development company for web and mobile applications. We’re also into network security and cybersecurity.

We needed a third-party consultant for product testing for us and one of our clients.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Defmax does a step-by-step process of testing and automation for us, using the latest technology. They’re responsible for API testing for our internal web apps. In addition, they’ve done penetration testing and network security for one of our organizations. Their team is very good at writing blogs and researching the vulnerabilities of the real world. Our developers learn a lot from working with them.

They’re known here in India for their penetration testing methodologies and all the latest tech stacks. We attended a few conferences and workshops and thought we’d try them. It’s worked well, so we’re happy with them.

We started working together in October 2019, and it’s ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We’re satisfied with the results we’re seeing. They’ve followed their checklist perfectly and delivered everything within the promised timeframe.

How did Defmax Technologies Private Limited perform from a project management standpoint?

Their project management has been very good. We use Discord and Zoom to share anything that comes up. They’re patient and communicative, always explaining to us any issues that arise and how to fix them. They’re also friendly with our developers.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Their pricing and output are better than other companies I’ve worked with. Our developers weren’t happy with the previous companies, but they like working with Defmax because they’re always willing to help.

Are there any areas they could improve?

It’d be beneficial for them to include more services. It’d be good to use their services for all of our needs instead of having different companies for different services. 

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Give them a try — they’re cool and hardworking. They’re young but very highly skilled and knowledgeable. Also, their work has been acknowledged by companies like Google, AT&T, and Facebook.

We needed security testing for all the applications we make.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

They basically provide end-to-end testing. We start all our projects with them by providing them our APIs. Then, they conduct all relevant security tests, checking if there are data leaks or breaches that could allow anyone to hack into our application. We have them test all of our apps before we deliver them to our clients.

What is the team composition?

I work directly with a project manager and a business operations specialist. They have a dedicated team working with them behind the scenes as well.

How did you come to work with Defmax Technologies Private Limited?

I was able to connect with their founder, who is one of the leaders in the cybersecurity field, through Google searches. After familiarizing myself with his company's offerings, I brought them in to help us with app security.

How much have you invested with them?

For each project, we spend an average of about $30,000 with them.

What is the status of this engagement?

We've worked together since November 2019. We would love to continue working together in the future.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

Their work is excellent and we’re completely satisfied with them. We’ve been working with a client in Germany that has an application that handles around a million financial transactions a month. Since there were hackers out there looking to penetrate the app, they requested that we ensure anything we delivered attained a high level of security. Prior to working with Defmax Technologies Private Limited, we actually lost this client due to security breaches. Now, though, they help us produce completely secure apps.

How did Defmax Technologies Private Limited perform from a project management standpoint?

They do a good job. We communicate via Slack and track our progress via Jira, but I'm not sure if they're using any other tools internally. While we no longer have meetings every Friday like we previously did, we still have scheduled calls.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They're passionate and go above and beyond to deliver the best work they can regardless of the project specifics. They want to make sure that whatever we’re building is secure.

Are there any areas they could improve?

I've requested that they hire more people. We’re expanding our business and I need a bigger team with more developers and testers.
