Harsh is very professional, on time, honest and an excellent problem solver. He is also very detail oriented and was able to navigate our platform's complex requirements with ease, delivering milestones on time and ultimately deploying exactly the upgrade we needed!

Element5 is a startup that provides automation as a SAAS service for Post Acute Healthcare. I am the Founder and CTO.

For what projects/services did your company hire Debuide Technologies, and what were your goals?

Debuide was contracted to help set up our Cloud infrastructure and CI/CD.

SOLUTION

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

They were referred by an employee and selected by reviewing their past work and interviewing their key employees.

Describe the scope of work in detail, including the project steps, key deliverables, and technologies used.

Scope of work: CI/CD pipelines for seamless deployments of platform services, workflows and UI 2.0 services Infrastructure provisioning of the entire stack using 'Infra as Code' approach Enhance the security and ensure compliance wherever applicable. Project Steps:

1. Project Inception: Understood the project landscape, important stakeholders, current architecture and the goal Element5 wanted to achieve. Debuide discussed the current boundaries and bottlenecks the teams faced with the infrastructure, the compliances in place and the security posture of the current infrastructure. Debuide worked closely with the Chief Architect of Element5 and envisioned the DevOps roadmap for the year.
2. Project Execution: Debuide closely estimated a timeline within which the building blocks of the infrastructure could be completed. This includes identifying key epics to be implemented, finalising tools for CICD, running the workloads on Kubernetes and determining how to work in conjunction within the boundaries enforced by our Secops team. Debuide was able to deliver production ready infrastructure in the first three months. Debuide also helped in the development of a new version of the user facing frontend application in Element5. This involved integrating with a number of third party apps, spiking new tools, collaborating with a number of different teams.
3. Go Live and monitoring: Element5 went live seamlessly with a new version of the platform in the middle of the year with a number of services being continuously deployed on the new infra via the CICD infrastructure. The UI app has also gone live recently. A number of monitoring tools and alerts have been put in place which helped to adapt better as the landscape changes.

Debuide continues to build up new functionality on top of the new platform.

Key deliverables: Entire infrastructure stack provisioning for Platform 2.0 (using terraform) Jenkins pipelines for all the Platform 2.0 and 1.0 services and UI 2.0 services Seamless deployments of workflows via Jenkins using workflow definition defined as yaml (Phase 1) Implement mTLS for internal facing API's as an step towards Zero trust Expose all services over HTTPS Datadog setup, monitoring and Dashboards Frontend and Backend services development for UI 2.0 services Setup Kafka MSK connector for workflow and UI2.0 Data Layer Technologies used: Jenkins, Terraform, Docker, Kubernetes, AWS, Temporal, Kafka, NodeJs, Gradle

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

They were able to complete the assigned tasks on schedule and budget. The quality of the technical work was high.

We followed the Agile process with ClickUp tool. Debuide had the Agile expertise and had no issues following the best practices of Agile that we follow.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

Debuide has always focussed on the quality of delivery. Their senior team members and even the founder do not hesitate to jump in case of issues to make sure Element5 delivery goes as planned. They were able to ramp up the team as per our needs within short notice.

I couldn't think of any.

I’m an executive for a company that is building out the economic engine of the metaverse; we work on all areas of Web3 and cryptocurrency games.

What challenge were you trying to address with Debuide Technologies?

We hired them to help us build out a continuous integration process for one of our games.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Debuide Technologies has done a lot with continuous integration and deploying services, and we’ve built a SaaS product with them. We expanded their contract to work on our DevOps operations across the company. Debuide Technologies has been helping us install software within AWS; most of our work has been around setting up AWS and CircleCI. 

What is the team composition?

We work with Harsh and Prem (Co-Founders) and two other DevOps team individuals. 

How did you come to work with Debuide Technologies?

We initially found them on a website that helps connect DevOps providers. We chose them because they had relevant experience surrounding what we were trying to do. Overall, we were confident in their ability to build a continuous integration pipeline. 

How much have you invested with them?

We’ve invested between $5,000–$10,000. 

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working together in March 2022, and it is ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

We want to highlight their system for security. We did an AWS security audit, and after several areas were identified, Debuide Technologies helped us address some of those security concerns. 

How did Debuide Technologies perform from a project management standpoint?

They’ve adapted to our project management system very well. We usually make tickets on our project management system, and they ensure those tickets get done or that the right people are notified. They’ve been very effective in asynchronous communication and working with many employees across different time zones. We use Linear and Discord for project management and Google Meet for communication. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

Debuide Technologies has a high level of professionalism; they’re excellent communicators and are on top of things. They complete work on time, and if something isn’t going to be finished, they let us know in advance. They also have a lot of technical proficiency in AWS and other software. Overall, we think these strengths make them very effective. 

Are there any areas they could improve?

There’s nothing they could improve upon from our perspective. 

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

We would say this about working with any company, but be clear about your expectations and how you want to communicate. Debuide Technologies is really good about adjusting to what you want to do.

Harsh and his team were friendly and and extremely responsive and addressed all our questions and requests promptly. They used their expertise to suggest improvements we hadn't considered, making our product even better.

how quick they helped us, their suggestions on different way to approach our needs, and the reliability of what they did for us. The GUI webapp was also very user friendly and had a good look and feel.

Sometimes there seemed to be miscommunication when things were supposedly deployed and tested, but weren't. But that was minor.

• Project 1 - The project was in the last stages, stuck to implement ÉFK` a relatively new Cloud / Devops protocol.
• Project 2 - We wanted customized ´navy seal´kind of training , again if I recollect on Kubernetes

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

• Project 1 - the EFK issue was cracked, accepted by the customer, saving our reputation
• Project 2 - the resource was upskilled- saving our reputation
• Project 3 - the issues were solved, saving our reputation with an internal client

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

• A bit shaky on project 1 in part due to the resource from our side- slow on uptake and slow to respond- and in part due to access restrictions. They were extraordinarily participative to resolve problems. We spent hours together on more than one occasion to resolve issues before client timelines. Debuide also came into client calls giving us credibility
• Project 2 and 3 went smoother due to induction of a project manager and better understanding, but i believe our could have done better in appreciating the role of an Expert Polygot and setting internal expectations.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

Harsh is a typical Thoughtworks Polygot, hands on , boundaryless, problem and customer oriented. It is rare combination of talent and culture

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

In one more project the commercial expectation setting was not aligned ( for idle time billing), but that is understandable given their trust and the way they work. During resolution, the Debuide leadership team was very accommodative but the tone of the discussion was harsher/ more emotional than warranted considering that I acknowledged the issue was from our end.
