PortsToronto is a government business enterprise that owns and operates Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport, which welcomes more than two million passengers each year; the Outer Harbour Marina, one of Canada's largest freshwater marinas; and the marine Port of Toronto that includes businesses in a variety of sectors including marine shipping, cargo services, media production and passenger cruises.

Since beginning to work with DCAM Productions in early 2024, we have established a solid working relationship that produces quality results within a variety of timelines. We have been able to produce a library of high quality videos that have elevated our digital presence.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

The turnkey aspect of working with DCAM Productions is the most impressive quality. I can present an idea/event with a date, and DCAM Productions will arrive with all equipment and resources required to get the job done well. This includes some aspects that are unique to our organization, like enabling French captions, or sourcing bilingual voiceover for films so that we can comply with official languages regulations here in Canada. 

Are there any areas for improvement or something DCAM Productions could have done differently?

None that come to mind.

The scope of work for the video producer involves creating a series of videos, each tailored to specific aspects of the company's operations and culture. The expected deliverables from the video producer include:

Main Rochon Hero/Culture Video: The producer is tasked with creating a 5-minute video that integrates interviews with key personnel to highlight the company's history, growth, and values. This includes managing drone footage and applying basic graphics to visually support the narrative.
Safety Video: The producer is expected to deliver a 3-minute video that illustrates Rochon's commitment to safety. This involves filming both in office settings and on active project sites, integrating interviews that emphasize the importance of COR certification and the company's safety protocols.
Allendale Video: For this 2-minute video, the producer needs to capture the essence of the Allendale project through interviews and drone footage, detailing its design and sustainability features as well as the overall construction process.
Station B Video: This video requires the producer to focus on the Station B project, extracting key information through interviews and drone footage to highlight its urban context, LEED certification targets, and specific project features.
Tullamore Project Video: The producer is expected to document the ongoing construction at the Tullamore project, capturing key moments and challenges through on-site interviews and narrative storytelling that portrays the project's progress and complexities.
The video producer is expected to effectively manage these multiple aspects of production, ensuring each video is engaging, informative, and reflective of the company’s professional standards. Each video should seamlessly integrate visual and narrative elements to deliver a coherent and impactful message about Rochon's capabilities and culture.

The measurable outcomes from the video production project that demonstrate progress and success include receiving numerous compliments on our social media and website posts. Additionally, there was a noticeable increase in followers and engagement on our social media platforms, indicating a positive reception and heightened interest in our content. These metrics underscore the effectiveness of the videos in enhancing our online presence and engaging our audience.

The video producer demonstrated exceptional project management throughout the video production process. They consistently delivered items on time, showing a strong commitment to meeting deadlines. Additionally, their responsiveness to our needs was outstanding; they were easy to work with and were always available to address any concerns or requests we had. Their approach was not only professional but also creative, often exceeding our expectations in terms of delivering a quality product and managing the project efficiently. This level of attentiveness and skill in handling project demands significantly contributed to the project's success.
