We needed DataRoot Labs to build a system that would bring a market-driven allowlist (whitelist) capability to a Intelligence Sharing Platform. We wanted to use computer vision recognition of crawled pages of domains for block/takedown, to associate with the relevant trademark owners and inform them. This mix of allowlist and blocklist capabilities improves the overall robustness of our Intelligence Sharing Platform while reducing the business-related losses for our users/clients.

The scope included the following: creating a Software Requirements Specification document with Architecture description, System Capabilities, Detailed Data Processing Flow, and Production Compute Requirements. That was followed by Computer Vision engine development with testing it on a logo template matching task with a predefined diverse dataset.

After that the team proceeded with System Development which included the development and testing of a CI/CD pipeline. Before handing off the project, the team fully tested and deployed the solution.

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

The system worked as described upon delivery. It became one of the core engines behind our offering to fintech clients.

Although the project took a bit longer than expected, the team has delivered it on budget and quite quickly. I was able to connect with the CTO and their engineering team in a matter of minutes. We still stay in touch and I hope to work with them again on a new scope.

The Computer Vision modules built by DataRoot Labs had to enable our drones to do a) object detection and tracking to track objects in real-time, allowing them to follow moving targets or avoid obstacles and b) Image and video analysis to capture high-resolution images and videos, which can be analyzed using computer vision algorithms to identify patterns and detect changes on the ground to assist our clients with various tasks for security, agriculture and natural protection industries.

Additionally, their algorithms should be able to do object classification depending on a case: classify various types of cars, industrial objects, pedestrian trespassing etc.

Their computer vision model performed object detection, tracking and classification working with high accuracy of 95+%.
