Executive, Health Technology Company
- Industry: Other industries

- Client size: 11-50 Employees
- Review Type: Phone Interview
- Verified

**The Review** — Jun 20, 2022

**Feedback Summary**: The client is delighted with how Daffodil Software has completed everything successfully and within timeframes. They've helped them turn everything around to solve their developing needs. The team also praises the good feedback they've gotten on their work.
"''Everything has moved swiftly.''"

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m an executive at a health tech company focused on research; we provide support to hospitals for all of the diagnostic services. Many hospitals outsource their lab work to us, and we also research different drugs and diseases, doing tests to find cures and the best way to handle solutions along that line.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with Daffodil Software?

We had some resource constraints; there’s a very high demand for DevOps engineers, and many of them have been taken by American companies, so it isn’t easy to get talent in-house — that's why we had to outsource. We’ve had several experiences with interviews and having candidates pass all of the assessments, but when it gets down to doing the job, it’s entirely different. We wanted someone that would be able to provide the service we needed.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?

Daffodil Software provides staff augmentation for us remotely. We told them our needs, and then they supplied the resources for it. We also had an evaluation period for their work to see their skill set and how they handled their assigned tasks.

What is the team composition?

I work directly with the resource they provide. We also have an account manager, a team lead for the DevOps engineers, and a sales consultant.

How did you come to work with Daffodil Software?

A friend recommended them, and we decided to work with them after doing some research.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working together in March 2022, and the engagement is ongoing.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

They've completed every task we've handed them successfully within a good timeframe — the whole work process is easier now.

When I joined the company last year, many things were in a bad state, so my primary mandate was to turn the whole cloud infrastructure around, reduce downtime, and make things move smoothly. I needed someone to support me and make that process easier. Together, we’ve completed several migrations to the new infrastructure, and everything is moving fast thanks to their involvement.

How did Daffodil Software perform from a project management standpoint?

Their resource always works within a good timeframe. In terms of tools, we use Check-Up, Zoho, Slack, Google Meet, and email.

What did you find most impressive about them?

I’ve recommended them to someone I respect, and he doesn’t just give anyone a good review. He’s very conservative with good feedback, so I took it very seriously when he recommended Daffodil Software and gave them full praises.

Are there any areas they could improve?

I don't think there's anything they can improve on.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Being upfront with them from the very first call is helpful. I told them the current state of everything — the lack of documentation, how I had been struggling, and everything else. We figured out how to process everything, and everything has moved swiftly since then.

- Review Type: Online Review

**The Review** — Jun 1, 2022

**Feedback Summary**: Daffodil Software delivered on its promise to complete the client's backlogged items, providing a more comprehensive solution. The client was impressed with their suggestions for improvements and the quality work they provided at an affordable cost. They also offered several communication options.
""They were unique because they provided quality work at an affordable cost — a win-win for both companies.""

**BACKGROUND**
Please describe your company and your position there.

I'm the CEO and Founder of Send Mammogram, an innovative digital healthcare technology company based in Atlanta, Georgia.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
For what projects/services did your company hire Daffodil Software, and what were your goals?

We had many items from our product backlog to complete the requirements for our mobile and web solutions. Daffodil helped us organize and prioritize our backlog, increase security and data encryption, fine-tune our use cases, and improve and add new features.

**SOLUTION**
How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

I contacted software technology companies describing my requirements. Daffodil was the top company on my list. Daffodil was the only company that responded back by email. Daffodil won my confidence with their onboarding process for software companies. They walked me through the necessary steps in order to properly understand the project prior to the start of development.

Describe the scope of work in detail, including the project steps, key deliverables, and technologies used.

Daffodil provided a Laravel developer for our platform and a react native developer for our mobile app. We decided to retain both developers on a monthly basis to complete our product backlog consisting of setting up the code, bug fixes, upgrades, authentication, audit trail, admin, super-admin, digital signature integration, efax, document, and medical image exchange flow fixes, confirming data encryption for HIPAA security.

How many people from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?

There were 3 people in the core team, a project manager, 2 developers, and an AWS resource when needed.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

Our goal was to select and develop the backlog items to improve our product and features. Daffodil discussed an approach to completing the backlogged items, promising a more complete solution. We have an enhanced solution to take to the market and obtain feedback for future development. Daffodil delivered on its promise.

Describe their project management style, including communication tools and timeliness.

Inclusive. We appreciated the developers included on the weekly calls and receiving their Daily Status Reports – daily updates about accomplishments for the day and tomorrow's work. Daffodil provided several options for communication and project management. We preferred Google Hangout, Slack, and Jira.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

I was apprehensive wondering if Daffodil would understand our products and all its moving parts. After attending the initial call and receiving an itemized list of questions discussed I was confident we selected the right company. Most impressive were the suggestions for improvement. They were unique because they provided quality work at an affordable cost — a win-win for both companies.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

Yes. A 30-day calendar of upcoming holidays, and developer and project manager days off would help the client management side.

**Feedback Summary**: Thanks to Daffodil Software, the client has seen tremendous progress since the project's launch. They've designed five modules, which are developed to a point where the client is close to having an MVP. Moreover, their entire team is very accessible and eager to make adjustments when necessary.
""The vendor has done a great job.""

**BACKGROUND**
Please describe your company and your position there.

I'm the General Manager of an IT and Fintech company that provides innovative digital payment solutions and services.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
For what projects/services did your company hire Daffodil Software, and what were your goals?

We realized that there is a need for a robust digital revenue collection and management solution for county governments in Kenya. The existing landscape consists of systems that are not automated, inefficient, have revenue leaks and lack accountability and reporting.

**SOLUTION**
How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

The vendor found me through an email introduction. The deciding factors were Daffodil's many years of experience, well known customers and large team of developers available to take on a project. They also offered to assist us with establishing an Offshore Development Center.

Describe the scope of work in detail, including the project steps, key deliverables, and technologies used.

The scope of work was a two step process. One was the Discovery and Framing phase where business requirements were gathered, user stories developed and functional specification defined. Next was the development phase that involved actual development of the revenue management system modules.

How many people from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?

We followed a resource based plan that included up to 11 team members ranging from Project Manager, Designers, Backed and Front end developers, QA etc.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

We have seen tremendous progress since project launch. We focused on 5 modules that are now at an advanced stage. Within 4 months, these modules have been developed to a point where we are close to having a minimum viable product.

Describe their project management style, including communication tools and timeliness.

The project team have been methodical in their approach. Project meetings have been scheduled in advance and clear agenda and expectations have been communicated. They've used various tools such as Jira for the project and Google chat for instant communication.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

The entire team was very accessible and eager to make adjustments to schedules when requested.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

The vendor has done a great job. Perhaps more communication on the project roadmap can be improved.

#### Mobile App Dev for Automatic License Plate Recognition Firm
**The Project**
- Services: Mobile App Development
- Project size: $10,000 to $49,999
- Project length: June 2021 - Apr. 2022

**Project Summary**: Daffodil Software was hired by an automatic license plate recognition company to build and develop a mobile app. The team was tasked with developing a production version to showcase to potential partners.

**Review Rating**: 2.0
- Quality: 2.0
- Schedule: 0.5

**The Reviewer**
CEO, Automatic License Plate Recognition Firm
- Industry: Other industries

- Client size: 1-10 Employees
- Review Type: Phone Interview
- Verified

**The Review** — Apr 9, 2022

**Feedback Summary**: While Daffodil Software was successful in their initial outing with the client, they couldn't deliver from a development standpoint for this project. They were non-communicative throughout the partnership and their project management was highly unorganized.
""From a business perspective, they presented a well-defined scope of work with all the features and functionalities.""

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m the CEO of an automatic license plate recognition company.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with Daffodil Software?

We needed someone to provide us with mobile app development.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?

We initially engaged Daffodil Software to develop a production version of our app that they initially did a POC (proof of concept) of. We went back and forth in identifying the scope and completed the first iteration in December 2021.

What is the team composition?

We mainly engaged with two business development leads throughout the project.

How much have you invested with them?

We spent approximately $16,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We worked together from June 2021–April 2022.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

They couldn’t put together a team on time for the development of a production version of the app, so what ended up happening was we couldn’t get any engagement from them.

They were non-communicative throughout the process, so it was such a struggle trying to get any form of update on the progress.

The impact was huge as we had promised this app to a number of key clients to be delivered in January of this year, and here we are in April with nothing to show.

How did Daffodil Software perform from a project management standpoint?

Our assumptions were correct when we scheduled a weekly call and found out that our project wasn’t getting their full attention — there would be one feature added then we wouldn’t hear from them again after a long time.

After they missed a deadline by two months, we finally threw our hands up and ended our partnership. We basically managed them entirely, even though they had an internal project manager assigned to them.

What did you find most impressive about them?

There’s nothing in this engagement that I would consider a strength but from a business perspective, they presented a well-defined scope of work with all the features and functionalities documented — the only problem was they didn’t follow through.

Are there any areas they could improve?

I believe they should’ve had a defined team in place and identified their resources before even taking on the project.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

As a client, I should’ve asked to have them define the resources they needed prior to signing the contract, so I would advise you to understand their credentials, abilities, training, and experience ahead of time before committing to a contract.

#### Mobile & Web App Design & Dev for Healthcare Technology Firm
**The Project**
- Services: Mobile App Development, UX/UI Design, Web Development
- Project size: $200,000 to $999,999
- Project length: Jan. 2021 - Ongoing

**Project Summary**: Daffodil Software has designed and developed a cross-platform mobile app and corresponding web app for a healthcare technology company that connects patients to available healthcare providers in real-time.

**Review Rating**: 5.0

**The Reviewer**
Co-Founder, VivoDoc
- Industry: Other industries

- Client size: 1-10 Employees
- Review Type: Phone Interview
- Verified

**The Review** — Mar 1, 2022

**Feedback Summary**: Daffodil Software has transformed the client’s vision into reality — 100 doctors are now listed on the apps, and the client is now acquiring patients. Daffodil Software constantly updates the app based on user feedback, using Jira to manage the project. They’re communicative and responsive.
"“Daffodil Software’s project management was their biggest strength.”"

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.

I am the co-founder of Vivodoc, a healthcare technology company that connects patients with healthcare providers.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with Daffodil Software?

We wanted to implement a digital platform where patients could book appointments and see the real-time availability of each doctor.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?

Daffodil Software brought us from the idea to the product stage and has developed our cross-platform mobile and web apps. They walked us through the entire app design and development process, brainstorming the design and then implementing it. Once the apps were complete, Daffodil Software moved into maintenance mode.

On both apps, users can see the real-time availability of providers who can address their specific healthcare needs. Then, because we’re connected to the provider’s patient management systems, our app books the appointment in real-time. From there, the appointment information is relayed to the user, and the app sends out regular appointment reminders. Additionally, patients can check-in for appointments and fill out their medical history on the app. There are also insurance verification workflows.

What is the team composition?

We invested around $200,000 with Daffodil Software.

How did you come to work with Daffodil Software?

We were looking for a partner to help us brainstorm the entire app process. We found them through Google, and after looking at their portfolio, we hired them.

How much have you invested with them?

We were working with 7–8 teammates from Daffodil Software at one point, including a project manager.

What is the status of this engagement?

Our engagement with Daffodil Software began in January 2021, and it’s ongoing.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Daffodil Software has transformed our vision into a reality. We have over 100 doctors on the platform and are currently acquiring patients. The doctors using the platform provide us with comprehensive feedback to help us improve the apps. We’ve had some bugs, but Daffodil Software quickly addresses them.

How did Daffodil Software perform from a project management standpoint?

Daffodil Software is very communicative — we have daily scrum calls to discuss project progress. We typically communicate through email and Google Meets and use Jira to manage projects.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Daffodil Software’s project management was their biggest strength.

Are there any areas they could improve?

Daffodil Software should invest more in their QA processes.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

I’d advise customers to hire Daffodil Software because they’re a reliable partner.

How did you come to work with Daffodil Software?

I came across their company while researching on Google, and we chose to hire them because of their cost-effective solutions and innovative approach to development.

Their ownership of the project is a key distinguishing factor of our current success — they go above and beyond in terms of collaboration.

Are there any areas they could improve?

One common problem across this industry is resource retention, so maybe they could improve on that aspect of the business.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

I would advise them to get into a more collaborative model when partnering with Daffodil Software, to achieve the best possible outcome.

The proactive team strived to meet their client's timelines and standards to ensure an agreeable engagement.
""Daffodil Software maneuvered well around existing stumbling blocks and rewarded us with high-quality solutions.""

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there?

I’m the CEO of GoKonnect Interactive Media Services. We provide local bus drivers with entertainment accessibility that they can offer their passengers.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with Daffodil Software?

We weren't satisfied with the services of our software partner, so we needed a new team to take over the pipeline.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?

Initially, Daffodil Software was only going to refine and complete the solution — however, they encountered a lot of errors as they tested the code, so they rebuilt the product from the ground up. They designed and developed the application via HTML and included a backend with API integration. Additionally, Daffodil Software incorporated a control panel per our bespoke solution.

What is the team composition?

Our main point of contact was their lead developer, and we worked with an entire team of roughly seven developers, a control panel lead, a design lead, an app lead, and a project manager.

How did you come to work with Daffodil Software?

We had a vetting process comprised of several participating vendors — towards the end of the process, we decided to onboard Daffodil Software's team because their skill set exactly matched our needs.

How much have you invested with them?

We spent between $125,000–$130,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

The project ran from July 2020–August 2021.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We've only recently launched the app and acquired users, so there are no quantitative metrics to share at this point. From our perspective, Daffodil Software strived to deliver a functional and reliable platform despite encountering issues with the existing code they were presented with. We appreciated their proactive approach and eagerness to incorporate all the features we needed our users to have access to — their work ethic spoke volumes about how well they handled adversities, which made us look forward to working with them again.

How did Daffodil Software perform from a project management standpoint?

Daffodil Software met both our deadlines and requirements satisfactorily. They were also accommodating of our team's change requests throughout the process.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Daffodil Software maneuvered well around existing stumbling blocks and rewarded us with high-quality solutions, which we didn't get from the previous team we worked with.

Are there any areas they could improve?

Daffodil Software's members could benefit from a more communicative and encouraging approach — there were instances wherein some tasks piled up and additional services with extra charges weren't relayed to our team clearly.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Present your project and desired results comprehensively to minimize price and timeline changes.

Founding Member & CTO, Fabulate
- Industry: Advertising & marketing

- Client size: 1-10 Employees
- Review Type: Phone Interview
- Verified

**The Review** — Sep 17, 2021

**Feedback Summary**: Daffodil Software’s high-level expertise has significantly reduced the time spent on fixing bugs. They can flexibly scale up or down as needed and dedicate additional hours to push for deadlines. The client is highly appreciative of their structure, bench strength, and affordable services.
""They’ve provided us with a dedicated team that really looks after us and our problems.""

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.

Fabulate is an Australian digital advertising platform. We bring together brands, advertising agencies, digital media distribution channels, and content creators onto a single platform.

We classify as a startup, but we’ve been around for three and a half years. I’m a founding member, and I hold the position of CTO.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with Daffodil Software?

We needed to build our product, but because our startup’s budget was pretty tight, we had to find a development partner outside of Australia. Run-of-the-mill freelance developers were also out of the option; we wanted a formal, mature, and well-organized development organization that we could grow with, so we turned to Daffodil.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?

Daffodil is our IT development partner. They provide all of our software development services except for QA, which I manage through a different agency. Their work covers front- and backend JavaScript development, database management, product design and product creation, UI/UX design, DevOps, and eventually, DevSecOps. Daffodil also handles the upkeep of our marketing website, which is based on WordPress.

Daffodil is a time-and-materials supplier;  I provide the direction, the architecture, and the development roadmap, and Daffodil builds, deploys, maintains, and manages the platform for me.

The team has developed our AWS-hosted platform using PostgreSQL and Node.js on the backend and React.js on the frontend. We don’t have any native apps yet, but they’ve made the platform mobile-responsive. We do have multiple smaller applications for integrated services like payment gateways and invoicing systems, and Daffodil helps with managing that.

What is the team composition?

We’re currently working with five people: one DevSecOps, two frontend developers, one backend developer, and a software lead. We’ve just acquired some investments, so I’m in discussions with Daffodil about expanding the team size in the coming months.

How did you come to work with Daffodil Software?

Our former development partners were based in Ukraine, and I was looking to migrate those services because of communication issues. I looked around India and found Daffodil on Upwork.

They have about 1,500 people working for them, so they have the bench strength that we were looking for. They also seemed like a formal, process-driven organization that we could scale with, not just a small group of developers, so we chose to work with them.

How much have you invested with them?

Over the last eight months, I’ve spent an average of $12,000 per month on their services.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working with Daffodil around June 2020, and it’s an ongoing engagement.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

With our previous developers, we were spending as much as 30% of our efforts fixing bugs before a release. Now, with Daffodil, we only spend around 3% of our time on that, which is certainly low. We’re extremely satisfied with their performance.

We don’t have any metrics beyond that since we don’t work on a project basis with Daffodil. In working with them, however, we’ve had a positive experience. They’ve kept the engagement casual enough such that scaling up or down is easy to achieve, especially with their huge pool of quality developers.

How did Daffodil Software perform from a project management standpoint?

I have no complaints. They’ve provided us with a dedicated team that really looks after us and our problems. Even in instances when we’ve had to push them hard, they were flexible enough to work late nights and weekends in order to deliver what was asked.

I’m currently interviewing for additional backend developers and software architects, and I appreciate that they can provide a formal interview process that usually isn’t possible with freelancers.

We use Jira, Slack, Discord, and Google Meet to manage the project and communicate with each other.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Their balance of quality and cost is a definite standout for us. We’re getting a good-quality development partner out of Daffodil for a price that isn’t top-of-the-market.

Are there any areas they could improve?

Besides the regular challenges, there hasn’t been any major need for improvement. There could, however, be more emphasis on estimation and planning when it comes to their communication.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Daffodil has skilled developers for median market pricing and they’re a mature, CMI- and ISO-certified organization, so I would recommend them for companies like mine that are working on tight, bootstrap budgets. There are thousands of organizations out there, but what makes Daffodil shine out is their price-effectiveness; you can get the same caliber of developer for half the price.

The team also praised their outstanding customer service and account management.
""They make a true partnership in customer service and understanding our business.""

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m an executive of an IT consulting firm.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with Daffodil Software?

We’ve been growing our business, and we wanted to bring on offshore developers to help us handle a lot of the off-hour work of our company to be competitive in specific business areas.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?

Daffodil Software provides application development services for our clients — they’re an extension of our team.

What is the team composition?

We’ve been working with around six people from their team.

How did you come to work with Daffodil Software?

I was looking for a provider based in India, and I spoke to several companies along the way. We chose Daffodil Software because they seemed the more professional company; they wanted to be part of our success and work with us to reach our goals.

How much have you invested with them?

We’ve spent around $200,000 with them so far.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working together in October 2020, and the engagement is still ongoing.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We’ve been getting spectacular results from their participation in this project. They’re also customer-facing to some of our clients, and we’ve been receiving fantastic feedback on that as well.

How did Daffodil Software perform from a project management standpoint?

They’ve been great. Our project managers and senior developers set tasks out, and Daffodil Software’s team knows the timelines and budgets for those assignments, which they always meet. Their account management has also been a great resource; they’re proactive and fix any issues through a communicative approach.

In terms of tools, we use Microsoft Teams, Slack, phone calls, and emails for communication, and Jira for project management and updates.

What did you find most impressive about them?

The customer service and account management are outstanding. They’re also responsive and always available night or day even though we’re based in different countries. We heard horror stories about offshore providers, and we’ve not experienced any of that with them — they’re fantastic to work with.

Are there any areas they could improve?

I don’t think there’s anything they can improve on — they make a true partnership in customer service and understanding our business.

Any advice for potential customers?

Keep good communication with your account manager to ensure that everything is getting taken care of. Take advantage of the fact that they’re good at managing teams, which is another line to ensure that the project is going in the right direction.

We choose this vendor because of their long track record in providing development services. Deciding factors included quality of work, lead time to get started and price.

Describe the scope of work in detail, including the project steps, key deliverables, and technologies used.

We embedded the app developers of Daffodil within our own development team to cooperate on this product. They took on the app development for Android and iOS using ReactNative and some of the API work in node.js. We needed to create a software solution specific to eyecare in order to allow all levels of providers to provide safe, efficient, and top-notch care for patients with eye problems. Our goal was to create software to allow better virtual consultations for patients with eye-specific problems with specialists with unique expertises.

We looked into several software development companies, but Daffodil had experience in healthcare that we valued and balanced excellent product development with costs.

Working with them, we initially discussed our clinical problems and how we wanted the software designed. Working with a team assigned to our project, we had weekly design and workflow calls to map out our software solution.

We had regular contact with the key people overseeing our project. As a result, we were able to create the software that we envisioned. Additionally, we were able to do it all while controlling costs, a very important aspect for a startup.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

Their work quality and communication were excellent. We could have better defined each scope of work with each iteration of our software. Slightly out of anyone's control, we had some delays from Covid, but overall, they handled the situation well.

Given Flutter is fairly new, we had contracted a couple of agencies to fill the need for Flutter developers. Timelines are driven by us and Daffodil does their best to support us over weekends as needed too.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

The most unique part of the company is the tendency to follow up to make sure they are always improving. Most agencies tend to get comfortable and stop improving.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

More senior developers and team leads like Vipin are needed - we have a lot more junior developers working under a lead which could be improved - its an opportunity for Daffodil to win more business with us .

**The Review** — Apr 14, 2021

**Feedback Summary**: External stakeholders have been very impressed with the mobile app and it is generally met with positive feedback. The client praises the team for realizing their vision for the product, and their continuous efforts to respond to even the most complicated requirements.
""They have a good management oversight, degree of professionalism, and consistency."
"

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m the CEO of Health Gauge, as well as the publicly traded company that owns it.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with Daffodil Software?

We started working with Daffodil in April 2020, and we were interested in establishing our mobile application work using a development tool called Flutter.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?

Daffodil is responsible for the overall execution of our mobile applications development for the Android and iOS platforms using Flutter. In addition, they’re also responsible for the ongoing testing, code verification, and quality of the products.

Flutter is becoming a more popular toolset for creating consistency with both the Apple and Android mobile platforms, so we decided to work with that field based on past experiences.

What is the team composition?

I don’t really lead the tech development team for my company, but I’m plugged in on the daily channel so I have good visibility of what the team is doing overall. I just generally do my guidance with my CTO and my project manager here. The person who is most associated with us is Sushant (Key Account Manager), who sets up the calls.

How much have you invested with them?

We’ve invested at least $100,000 CAD (approximately $79,300 USD).

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working together in April 2020, and we continue to work today.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

I can tell you that the measurement is more qualitative than quantitative. People are very impressed with the mobile app, and the feedback we get is all positive. We have both light and dark modes for both platforms, and the app is really quite impressive overall. Daffodil has done well in executing our vision, and they continue to be responsive to some of the tricky requests that we put on them.

How did Daffodil Software perform from a project management standpoint?

We regularly communicate through Skype where we require them to enter their daily tasks along with their estimate of time. They’ve done well to maintain that discipline, and it gives us great visibility on a daily basis — they keep us informed on what they’re working on, or when they’re not available. Moreover, they’re required to associate their tasks with JIRA-based deliverables, so that we can track them using a Kanban Board-like tool.

What did you find most impressive about them?

We like their ability to manage the resources well for us, and they conduct themselves like employees of our company. They have a good management oversight, degree of professionalism, and consistency. In addition, they’re quite responsive and we’ve been really happy with the work they’ve been doing for us.

We know them all by name, so there’s a really intimate relationship with the people from Daffodil. Our team is quite committed to meeting resources daily, so it’s good having people here in Canada, and it’s been great to be able to tap into that organization and build that relationship.

They work hard to maintain consistency between the two platforms, as there are always variations between them. This is good for our branding because we brought in a fairly demanding visual design and UI, and they’ve been doing a good job in establishing that design interface in addition to the underlying code work in Flutter.

The work we do in our company is quite original, and there's a lot of very sophisticated software underneath all of that. They’re just doing mobile applications, but we also work on online applications, AI, and neural net-based software development. All of these things have to work together, and they’ve been really responsive in making sure that everything is working.

Are there any areas they could improve?

There are always things to improve on. The thing that really comes to mind is how to maintain the hygiene points around articulating code with the comments and reinforcing that — so when bugs happen, we can find them. We’ve actually employed an additional resource at Daffodil, who is more of an expert in identifying bugs and maintaining the bug clean-up.

As far as improvements go, it would be great to see the continuing effort around the maintenance of code with comments and other supports because that’s not going away — we can do better.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Nothing’s really coming to mind at the moment. I’ve been quite happy even with the administrative stuff. They’re pretty consistent and I haven’t had any issues with how they administer and manage the organization. I’m generally quite pleased with working with them.

I found them through Upwork. We had an interview with them and other companies and I liked their portfolio. They had a reference who showed me an app that they’d completed with good reviews. We did a project with them at that point and we hired them for this project, too.

""The people they hired are all really good and we see them as our own team."
"

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m the CEO of Spirituity Pte. Ltd. and we make Singapore-based products.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with Daffodil Software?

We wanted to develop an SMB application.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?

Daffodil Software is building our cloud-based mobile application. We provided them with wireframes and discussed what was needed. They transported to production and the app can be used for both Android and iOS.

What is the team composition?

There is a project leader and a couple of front-and backend developers, along with QAs.

How did you come to work with Daffodil Software?

We looked at all the records that were available publicly and saw that they had won many awards. When we asked them specific questions, they were the only ones who were able to understand our idea. When a partner understands things, the journey is smooth. We interviewed about 5–7 other developers and we had to explain every step to them. Daffodil Software was more organized and everything was in place. It seemed like they had a lot of experience.

How much have you invested with them?

We’ve spent about $50,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We’ve finished the first phase and are onto the second. We started the collaboration around May 2020 and it is ongoing.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Everything we have recorded in terms of UX/UI has been great and everything is functioning.

How did Daffodil Software perform from a project management standpoint?

Their project management is excellent, especially with timing and keeping deadlines. We communicate with each other through Slack, daily. They respond very quickly, so if I have a problem in the morning, by the evening it’s solved. We also use Confluent and Trello to keep up with milestones.

What did you find most impressive about them?

The best part about Daffodil Software is that they’re very friendly and good people. The people they hired are all really good and we see them as our own team.

Are there any areas they could improve?

No, there is nothing.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

You should go with them if you’re looking for someone to develop a mobile application. Most importantly, have the design UI ready before getting into development.

**Feedback Summary**: Thanks to Daffodil Software's efforts, end-users commented on how easy it is to use the software exceeding the client's expectations. The team communicates seamlessly and is always available. They've been described as easy to work with and understanding which ensures an ongoing partnership.
""They’re spot on in delivering what I wanted and hits the target the first time."
"

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m the owner of Brimstone Allon Enterprises, LLC. We sell foodservice operation software and provide consulting services. We also have an online education platform.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with Daffodil Software?

We wanted a complete revamp of our online education platform.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?

Daffodil Software built an education fee-for-service site for us 15 years ago. It’s a site that offered credits for healthcare workers to stay certified. They did a complete redo of our site and completed the upgrade four years ago. Since then, they are providing site updates and adding new content to the site. I lay out the things I wanted them to do and they’ll incorporate these to the website.

They also built custom software for us. It’s for healthcare institutions like nursing homes to have their employees certified. We give them access to the classes and training that we built. We also provide testing, running reports, and tracking progress for the students that availed of the classes and training.

We worked very closely together during the transition period from the old website to the current one that we are using now. Daffodil Software assigns a developer to me to cover the items that I needed to be created. We just finished three projects this past year and we’re looking at doing another one.

What is the team composition?

We work with one project manager and four programmers from Daffodil Software’s team.

How did you come to work with Daffodil Software?

I was not happy with the previous provider that built the site for us originally. I wanted to have our website updated and looked around for companies to partner with. I spoke with Daffodil Software and we just clicked, I liked what their concepts were.

How much have you invested with them?

We’ve invested between $170,000–$175,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working with Daffodil Software in January 2013 and the engagement is ongoing.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

The application runs well and it serves its purpose. I get feedback from my clients that it’s a user-friendly and intuitive system. That’s important to me because I don’t want to spend a lot of time teaching people how to use the system. It tracks progress easily for them. I have virtually no downtime. The application’s ease of use and functionality is good and uptime has been excellent.

How did Daffodil Software perform from a project management standpoint?

Daffodil Software performed outstandingly in terms of project management. They provide good communication feedback and are always available. They always deliver results in a timely manner. Despite the time difference, they always respond to my queries promptly. We communicate mainly through Skype and emails.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Daffodil Software is very good at making my ideas into reality. We’ve been working for many years now and our relationship is easy. They are very easy to work with and they take time to understand what I’m asking for. They’re spot on in delivering what I wanted and hits the target the first time.

Are there any areas they could improve?

I really don’t have anything to respond to.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

My advice is to have a very clear vision of what you want and be very specific about what you’re looking for. The better you are thinking through what you want, makes it easier for Daffodil Software to deliver results. Make things simple and don’t complicate things.

**The Review** — Dec 10, 2020

**Feedback Summary**: The supplemental work has enhanced the partner's speed and quality of development. Daffodil Software has a wide range of resources that can handle all of their clients' needs. They're client-centric and can easily adapt or accommodate as needed. Responsiveness is a hallmark of their work.
"“I’m most impressed with the depth and breadth of their resources. They have a lot of resources.”
"

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m the manager of a public sector management consulting firm.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with Daffodil Software?

It was twofold. One, there was a level of outsourcing for bandwidth that we didn’t have internally. Two, we were looking for some offshore capabilities that’d allow for development to occur around the clock. We’re US-based and work during the daytime, so we wanted something that’d allow for development to occur at nighttime.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?

Daffodil Software provides staff augmentation and resources to work alongside our staff. They’ve also done some application development that’s on a fixed-fee basis. We have certain scopes of work that they handle. Everything is either in software development or DevOps. They do UI, frontend development, and API development work.

What is the team composition?

We’ve worked with 5–8 different staff members over the course of our engagement. At any given time, it’s usually between 2–5 people.

How did you come to work with Daffodil Software?

We’ve tried a handful of different vendors and found that Daffodil Software was very responsive. They provided good resources so we slowly built our relationship over time.

How much have you invested with them?

We’ve invested between $50,000–$100,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

Our ongoing engagement started in March 2020.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Their supplemental work has enhanced the speed of our development. They’ve also enhanced the quality of the development. I like that Daffodil Software is a large company so they have a lot of different resources. The staff that’s assigned to the project may not know something but they can go and ask superiors or other colleagues. They have access to a lot of different personnel.

We like that we’re dealing with a company that has institutional knowledge of what they do. This is the single key reason I use them and will continue to use them.

How did Daffodil Software perform from a project management standpoint?

They’re very client-focused. What the client likes or uses, they adapt to it. It’s been a great fit for us, but inexperienced clients who don’t have a preference may be lost because they don’t tend to come in with a standardized approach.

What did you find most impressive about them?

I’m most impressed with the depth and breadth of their resources. They have a lot of resources as well as the capacity to get resources. They’re efficient in the resource management piece. If we need something, they can find someone who could assist with it.

Daffodil Software has the ability to get us anything we need; they serve as a full-service development shop. They don’t have any specialties but can do anything we need.

Are there any areas they could improve?

Having some type of standardization and project management might be helpful in the future, especially for projects where we relied heavily on their expertise.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

You need to do some planning. They’re not just an outsourcing company; they work alongside you. If you aren’t prepared to work with or manage resources, then they’re probably not the right fit. They’re a partner. In order to have an effective partnership, be prepared to work with them.

**The Review** — Sep 24, 2020

**Feedback Summary**: A flexible team, Daffodil Software delivered a high-quality product while deftly overcoming challenges along the way. Diligent and reliable, they found solutions to problems and were well-versed in the product and its needs. Customers can expect an effective partner.
""Overall, Daffodil did a great job of helping us get our deliverables."
"

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.

I am the founder and CEO of DS Scientific. We are an original electronic manufacturing service company. We create our own products and do engineering services.

We are a startup that’s been around since 2014, and we branched into original equipment manufacturing and SaaS in 2016. It took about a year and a half for us to get rolling into the SaaS product that we offer.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with Daffodil Software?

We had some difficulty with coding our product correctly — we’re hardware engineers, not software engineers.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?

The software that we designed was basically conceived by myself and a hardware engineer who knew a little bit about coding. The actual physical footprint of hardware is very small, so we needed to control systems for those very, very small circuits that we have created.

We had some bugs, and Daffodil Software came in and fixed them. We had to redesign some things and they got it done. The software is for data mining and data analytics. Our product allows us to do a lot at a low cost using Excel as a platform.

What is the team composition?

I worked with about five people at various times. The first person was the project manager who put together a small team to do my project. There were a couple of designers and coders, and then there was one other person who did some integration at the end. There was also a supervisor or general manager.

How did you come to work with Daffodil Software?

My web designer is an independent contractor. We ran into coding problems and he suggested that we use Daffodil.

There were a couple of companies that he had in mind, but he thought Daffodil would be able to work well on this project. He had used him several times to do other things and they did very well. I decided to take his word for it and try them out.

How much have you invested in them?

We spent approximately $50,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

I believe it was August 2017 and the final touches were done in July 2020.

The project now is in marketing and sales mode. We plan on improving and adding new features in the future, but right now we are not actively engaged with them.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Overall, Daffodil did a great job of helping us get our deliverables. That was the strongest point. They were good in their design. There were a few glitches with personnel, but they were basically good. Even that person that was on the project was good. He got sick a few times and they had to pick up the ball, but they cater to the client’s needs more so than anybody that I’ve known.

They really worked with us on that hiccup, and I attribute that to them being just a great design company. They reached out and tried to work with us on our special needs. We can’t get that everywhere, so I give them top grades on that.

I've worked with other companies on other projects and they didn’t give us the same level of attention as Daffodil.

How did Daffodil Software perform from a project management standpoint?

They stayed on point and on time. On our end, we had some surprises which ruffled the feathers a little bit because we had to figure out things. Our company lost key personnel who designed it so we had to go in and figure out what was going on. Everything was fine, and on their part, they did a great job handling it.

What did you find most impressive about them?

The project manager was excellent. He did his homework, and when they had to replace a guy, he spent a lot of time thinking about what was necessary to do on his end and he got it done.

We had funding issues and we had to slow down, but he got us over that. We lost a couple of people on the project and he got us over that. He was very understanding, and he got his superiors in the company to work with us and understand.

During that downtime, I don’t know for sure, but I felt that low key they continued to look at what those issues were and when I was able to start back, they were able to get it done really quickly. They were working in the dark and getting things figured out so that when we started back up, it wouldn’t be a long time or like picking up a new project. They picked up the ball and ran with it.

Are there any areas they could improve?

There were a couple of times when communication lagged because they are located in India and we are on Pacific time, and I had someone in central time. It was sometimes hard to link up or we missed meetings because of the time zones, but that was a little thing.

I think the biggest thing is that since this was a low budget deal, we were dealing directly with their developer a lot. They would send things to us but they weren’t really beta tested on their end. It could have been because it was a low budget that they didn’t put in another person to beta test, but I eventually commented on that when we got to the end. Other than that, they were excellent.

Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m the technology director for Reminder Media. We primarily create products to help our clients stay in touch with their own customers. That being said, we have a wide range of products and offerings.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with Daffodil Software?

They’ve helped us with web and backend software development.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?

They’ve supplemented our inhouse team. They’ve mostly helped us build tools for our internal CRM but recently branched out into building backend components of our client-facing products. We’re using PHP with either Laravel or a custom framework.

What is the team composition?

We work with around 11 teammates from Daffodil providing both development and QA testing.

How did you come to work with Daffodil Software?

I believe we looked through a number of directory websites. I contacted several companies until something worked.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working together in January 2020, and it’s an ongoing collaboration.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**

I think things have been going very well. Their technical leads demonstrate a genuine investment in the success of our projects. Whenever we give them feedback, they’re very receptive to it; they’re interested in the growth of their developers. They’re great at following up and overseeing the full cycle of development, and not just handing things off.

How did Daffodil Software perform from a project management standpoint?

We do have a project management team on our side. By the time they get a project, the requirements have been fleshed out and broken down. That being said, they’ve been generally good at handling deadlines and attending our standup meetings. We utilize Microsoft Teams for communication.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They’re able to fill positions, and the account representatives on their side have been excellent at communicating in regard to projects.

Are there any areas they could improve?

No, I can’t think of anything at the moment.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Focus on communication. Make sure that your requirements are fleshed out well, and that they’re understood. On a larger project, I’d make sure to have a project manager on your side.

**Feedback Summary**: Daffodil Software delivered a quality product that is already supporting the market. The project manager maintains open lines of communication and helps coordinate with the client. On top of that, they’re flexible and make changes when asked.
"“They would coordinate the task and would call us 3-4 times a day to give them feedback or directions.”
"

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m the director of Vital Quest which is homeopathic medical software.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with Daffodil Software?

Our earlier software was almost 20–25 years in the market. Since Apple has shifted its architecture, it wasn't possible to continue with our older version, and we needed to shift to a different architecture. We had to rewrite the whole code.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?

They took over the project and used Node.js, React, and GraphQL. After going through the knowledge transfer and training, they worked on improving the UI/UX and the technology. It's dynamic software, so we could implement different iterations. They also integrated some security features. We utilize copy protection devices.

What is the team composition?

The team is very good. I’m very happy with the project manager who leads the team.

How did you come to work with Daffodil Software?

We originally worked with another company but they got stuck and couldn’t meet our speed and performance requirements. Instead, they started to increase their price.

We were not happy with this, so we got in touch with Daffodil Software. We went through their reviews and they seemed more trustworthy.

How much have you invested with them?

We spent $35,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We worked together from February 2019–June 2020.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

The version they delivered is already helping the market. We’re already using the software and have the user base. We had some challenges when we released. There were some bugs but the fixes were made.

How did Daffodil Software perform from a project management standpoint?

I appreciate them. The project manager is constantly in touch with us. The communication channels were very good.

They offered us flexibility. They were very open to discussion and allowed us to change direction. They coordinated the task and would call us 3–4 times a day for feedback or directions.

We discussed our process and their process, and they adapted to ensure smooth interaction and workflow. We really appreciated that. They have a very professional approach.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They’re open to our additions and they listen to us. They communicate well and are flexible. They gave us a lot of solutions to what needed to change. Compared to the first company we worked with, who provided no feedback after we gave them our requirements, Daffodil Software provides constant feedback.

Are there any areas they could improve?

We have no complaints about them.

- Review Type: Phone Interview

**The Review** — Jul 22, 2020

**Feedback Summary**: With the platform now being live, customers are using it and the client is satisfied with the quality of the work. Though the last milestone was too large and became a burden, Daffodil Software met deadlines throughout the engagement and knew how to deliver according to the schedule.
""It gave me a lot of relief to work with professional people who knew what they were doing."
"

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.

Talent Evolution develops tools for organizational surveys and leadership and team assessment. We offer products for companies in the US and Latin America, in Spanish, Portuguese, and English.

We’re just a three-person team, but we manage and work with consultants from all over Latin America. I have hundreds of consultants taking care of the process, and I provide them a platform through which they can run their projects.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with Daffodil Software?

I’d worked with different assessment tools for almost 20 years, mainly in the Latin American market. I was trying to build a strong platform that would allow me to do things that I never could have with those other tools. I was looking for a high-level, reliable technology product with a good design and structure.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?

I’d developed a previous platform, so I already knew what I wanted. I also had my own designer, who designed the whole platform. So Daffodil was responsible for the development.

Daffodil developed a web-based platform for administering 360 leadership assessment projects and different organizational surveys and team assessments. The main idea was to have a flexible platform that I could adapt to any kind of customer request. It needed to have different languages, scales, questionnaires, and reports.

What is the team composition?

I was in contact with five people from Daffodil Software, and there were around 12 people working on the project. My main contact was their project director. Depending on the part of the process we were in, I’d sometimes receive support from their project manager, the people taking care of the server, or the frontend developers.

How did you come to work with Daffodil Software?

I’d worked with them three years ago on another project. I was looking for a strong company that could deliver exactly what I wanted, in a good timeframe, and at a price I could afford. I evaluated different providers, but only Daffodil Software offered me everything I wanted.

How much have you invested with them?

The cost of this project was around $23,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

This project with Daffodil Software ran from February–July 2020. We’re still making some adjustments, but the main work finished in July.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

They knew how they would accomplish my request from the beginning, and they did it. The frontend Daffodil Software created looked exactly the same as the design I gave them. The platform is already working, and I have customers using it.

How did Daffodil Software perform from a project management standpoint?

They always stuck to the delivery dates they set. Knowing in March that I’d have everything ready by the end of June and seeing it happen exactly like that speaks to their project management. They knew what they were doing, and they scheduled their time really well.

The only concern was that the last milestone was too big and took more time than the others. The time I had for reviewing the complete project was very short. In the end, I had to work late every day trying to find all the bugs. It was hard for me to deal with that, but everything was really good in the end.

The communication was always very clear, and all milestones were completed on time or before the deadline. It gave me a lot of relief to work with professional people who knew what they were doing. We communicated through email, Skype, Google Hangouts, and Zoom.

What did you find most impressive about them?

I was really impressed by the frontend. Many times, a designer will create something really nice, after which the developers will tell them that they can’t do this or that. With Daffodil Software, they developed the frontend exactly like the design I gave them. Their scheduling was also impressive — everything was on time.

Are there any areas they could improve?

As I’ve already told them, the last part of the project shouldn’t have been that big. In the end, I just had one week to review the whole project. Reviewing the first milestones took me a couple of hours each, but the last one took me days. Everything was accumulated in the end, so the burden on my side was very heavy. In the end, I felt overwhelmed by everything I had to review in just one week.

Do you have any advice for future clients of theirs?

People who want to work with Daffodil should be very careful about the milestones and sprints, so that they don’t get too much in the end. The time they need to review bugs shouldn’t be that big.

**Feedback Summary**: The platform effectively differentiates the client in the advanced analytics and industrial IoT space. Internal stakeholders anticipate the solution to play a key role in scaling their business.  The team thoroughly understood the requirements, transforming practical goals into functional features.
""The team was extremely responsive and extended themselves beyond regular expectations."
"

**BACKGROUND**
Please describe your company and your position there.

Mechademy Inc is a US startup since 2017, providing advanced analytics and diagnostics services to the Oil & Gas Industry in the field of Turbomachinery. Turbomechanica is Mechademy Inc.'s big data platform specifically designed for industrial machines and processes. It integrates state-of-the-art machine learning algorithms with performance modeling algorithms that allow plant personnel to gain deeper insights into the health of their turbomachinery assets. I am the Chief Operating Officer and co-founder of Mechademy.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
For what projects/services did your company hire Daffodil Software?

We are engineering consultants for the Oil & Gas industry. In our years of experience we have found that the industry faces a big challenge from unplanned downtime and system outages. We have been involved in several projects to troubleshoot issues for our clients and have developed various proprietary algorithms for early fault detection and machine learning based predictive maintenance. We hired Daffodil to develop a cloud based remote monitoring platform to take near-real-time data from clients machine sensors and run our algorithms to provide rich insight into equipment health and prescriptive alerts for potential anomalies in operation.

What were your goals for this project?

The goal of the project was to input time series data from our client's machine sensors, process it using our engineering as well as machine learning algorithms and predict equipment performance as well as provide prescriptive alerts to the client for optimised performance of equipment.

**SOLUTION**
How did you select this vendor?

Daffodil was recommended to us by another business associate. They had developed an application for the associate on which we have also consulted. We were impressed by the professionalism and response from Daffodil, hence we initiated discussions on developing our own platform with them.

Describe the project and the services they provided in detail.

Daffodil conducted scope finding sessions and prepared a detailed scope for the project. Then their engineers designed, developed and deployed all the infrastructure on our AWS Cloud. They also optimised the services, data flow and processes. They also consulted on cybersecurity initiatives. The project was split into 4 milestones with 2-3 sprints each. Currently we are in the final ,milestone of UAT and bug fixes.

What was the team composition?

Daffodil's team consisted of a project manager, a tech lead, 2-3 front end, back end and data engineers, as well as dev-ops and testing engineers. During the course of the engagement, we required a cybersecurity team and Daffodil extended the services of their Chief Innovation officer and his team. This was really helpful and insghtful

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
Can you share any information that demonstrates the impact that this project has had on your business?

It is too early to say this, however the platform developed by Daffodil has indeed differentiated us from being an engineering consultant to being a product/service provider in the space of advanced analytics and industrial IoT. Our clients have shown keen interest in the product and we do hope to scale our business several folds once we successfully deploy the platform

How was project management arranged and how effective was it?

The project manager (Manjit Singh) and the technical lead (Shubhang Malviya) were exceptionally helpful and proactive. They understood our business case thoroughly and offered key insights into the resource, infrastructure and technology selection. The project tools used consisted of Bitbucket, Jira, Slack, Google Hangouts/Microsoft Teams

What did you find most impressive about this company?

The team was extremely responsive and extended themselves beyond regular expectations to cater to our extensive set of questions and requirements. What impressed us the most was how they understood our business case and practical requirements and translated them into functionalities of the application.

Are there any areas for improvement?

If we must point out improvements then we would like the team to add on internal processes for secure code review, basic vulnerability analysis and cloud resource estimation. Our project's complexity was something even we could not estimate upfront. This put us in a tight spot in front of our clients, who expected us to showcase our product functionalities a couple of months ago. Had we knows this beforehand, we would have made different promises to our clients.

**The Review** — Jun 11, 2020

**Feedback Summary**: Daffodil Software's support has been critical to the business, which has tripled in size. That growth can be attributed to their robust support. Over time, they've established an excellent working relationship with the client. They continue to demonstrate a commitment to the client's success.
""They are incredibly diligent and the management of the company has invested heavily in finding the right talent."
"

**BACKGROUND**
Please describe your company and your position there.

MasterMatchmakers.com is a high end personal matchmaking and coaching practice that covers the entire United States. We provide a remote based service using a distributed team throughout the country. There is a public facing website, a client portal and administrative console that allows us to deliver a best in class experience. I am the Founder and CEO.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
For what projects/services did your company hire Daffodil Software?

Daffodil has been managing our technology stack for nearly a decade. They have purpose built native mobile applications for iOS and Android as well as web based apps that allow us to operate our business front to back. There is both an administrator and client portal with extensive functionality. The continue to develop, support and maintain our entire technical infrastructure.

What were your goals for this project?

We needed to transform our brick and mortar business into an e-commerce company. Now 100% of our business is conducted online.

**SOLUTION**
How did you select this vendor?

Daffodil found me actually. We were working with other onshore developers who were very expensive and sadly incompetent. I knew I need to outsource our development overseas but I was concerned about the language barrier, time zone differences, cultural differences, etc. They were able to alleviate those concerns and assure me that I was in capable hands.

Describe the project and the services they provided in detail.

They helped me design, develop and deploy a front to back, top to bottom solution that transformed our entire way of doing business. We created our own custom CRM on the back of an open source CMS with custom modules purpose built to execute important functionality such as email handling and parsing, transaction processing, background checks, inventory control, reporting, etc.

What was the team composition?

The team varied based on the discipline of each individual. There were no less than 10 different individuals involved in our development over the last decade. They have done a good job of separating and siloing the responsibilities from accounting, business process management, architectural design, front end, back end, mobile development.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
Can you share any information that demonstrates the impact that this project has had on your business?

The services of Daffodil have had a profound impact on our business. Our company has no less than tripled in size since we migrated to this implementation. We have a solution that scales and we can add as many seats as we want without incurring licensing fees. It was far more economical to build versus buy.

How was project management arranged and how effective was it?

We were assigned a project manager who was able to manage my expectations. Very rarely would I interact directly with the engineers until there was enough of a working relationship in place that I felt permitted to work out misunderstandings of bugs, feature requests, etc. Now we have a great mutual respect and understanding. We are organized and deliberate in our approach. Supporting and maintaining is much easier than ground up development.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

Their work ethic and determination to get the job done right. They are incredibly diligent and the management of the company has invested heavily in finding the right talent to consult on product development. They have developed best practices for the discovery and design stage that is crucial to proper execution and high fidelity quotes and schedules.

Are there any areas for improvement?

No. They are extremely capable and it has been a pleasure working with them for as long as I have.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with Daffodil Software?

We were looking to hire an external development team to work on several projects.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?

They did an initial test project, creating an automation tool for SMS testing.

A larger project they worked on was to create an application from scratch. We specified the requirements, and provided them with outlines and desired features. They created the application based on the outputs we generated. It’s a Cloud storage solution for end-users compatible with iOS, Android, desktop, Windows and Mac, and web browsers. Their team keeps the software evolving with updates we request.

They used Node.js, Google Cloud platform, Java, React Native, Swift, and Java for Android.

What is the team composition?

There were about 30 people working on the team. The developers were overseen by the business manager, product manager and Scrum Master.

How did you come to work with Daffodil Software?

We found them on Google. We contacted a few companies, but chose them because they had a fairly large amount of developers available, good pricing, and were quick to reply. We gave them a test project first and decided to continue working with them when we were pleased with the outcome.

How much have you invested with them?

We spent roughly $1,000,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We began working together in October 2018, and we are in a contract with them currently.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

They work quickly and engage additional developers as necessary to deliver on time. We were able to build out the scope and migrate data for a completely new product within six months. We also built an e-book project with them in three months.

How did Daffodil Software perform from a project management standpoint?

They collaborate well with our internal project managers. They use Scrum methodology, as we do. We use Jira and GitHub, as well. They are responsive, and communicate well. The timeline has not been an issue as they quickly respond to any and all requests.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They are committed to delivering what is agreed upon, and they handle unexpected issues that arise. They add resources and put in extra time to make sure they deliver on time. They’re a good team to work with.

Are there any areas they could improve?

They could be better at giving reports and updates on progress during the project. If we don’t ask frequently, sometimes the updates are outdated.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Be in constant contact with them, as if they are part of your internal team, to keep the project moving along and to stay on top of things.

Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m the technology director at a noncommercial NGO operating in the healthcare space.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with Daffodil Software?

We needed an outsourced software development partner to handle some of the more complex tasks within our internal platform.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?

They helped us to improve the system that we use for data protection, starting by tackling one piece at a time and cleaning up the code that we already had in place. The platform was built in an older technology and they helped us to transition into another one, as well as to integrate different add-ons and customizations.

How did you come to work with Daffodil Software?

When we first built our platform, we looked for a software partner to help us out with it and settled on their team because of their reputation and previous work.

How much have you invested with them?

We spent around €40,000 (approximately $43,000 USD).

What is the status of this engagement?

The project started in December 2018 and is still ongoing.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

In my opinion, everything went very well. Throughout my career I have worked with a variety of different outsourcing companies, and they are one of the best. We’ve been very satisfied with their work.

How did Daffodil Software perform from a project management standpoint?

We use JIRA and Confluence to manage the project and make sure that everyone is always on the same page. Project management is mostly handled on our side, so we give them all of the tasks and the context that they need to provide their side of the work. They do a good job of keeping up with all of those requests.

What did you find most impressive about them?

I really appreciate their detail-oriented approach to all of the tasks that we set before them. Those details have a big impact in the long run, and their commitment to rigorous implementation planning allows us to avoid a lot of issues further down the road.

Are there any areas they could improve?

In general, I don’t think that they need to improve anything. We haven’t had any major issues with them.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

I don’t have any specific advice for Daffodil, but with outsourcing companies in general it is very important to know what you want. Make your technical requirements as clear as possible so that they understand the context and can best attempt to satisfy your core goals for the project.

**Feedback Summary**: The team's services made it possible for stakeholders to meet their desired deadlines, and the final product aligns with the requirements. Daffodil Software collaborated well with the internal team and communicated with them daily.
""They integrated well and communicated well - a very important aspect as our team is made up of remote workers."
"

**BACKGROUND**
Please describe your company and your position there.

I was working for Virgin Trains and then Virgin RedStar. My position was the Mobile Team Lead and Solution Architect.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
For what projects/services did your company hire Daffodil Software?

We hired a Android developer, an iOS developer and a mobile QA.

What were your goals for this project?

Initially we needed development assistance to help us complete our Android and iOS app by the timelines that we had committed to. A bit later, we also engaged a QA in order to improve the quality of the apps.

**SOLUTION**
How did you select this vendor?

We had contacted a number of providers in order to find good mobile developers. Once we made a number of interviews, we found that Daffodil had the candidates that we wanted on our team.

Describe the project in detail.

We onboarded the developers with documentation and the goals that we had. They started to help build features and fix bugs immediately after that and became an important part of the mobile team. There were many changes to the UI that had to go into the app and unfortunately designs especially on the Android side was lacking due to constraints from our design team, however, they developers took this in their stride and did the best they could with what we had available to them.

What was the team composition?

I was the Mobile team lead, and on our side we had an iOS lead and an Android lead. Daffodil provided us with an Android developer to work with the Android lead, and an iOS developer to work with the iOS lead. We later brought on a senior mobile QA to help us with testing and improving the quality of our apps.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

The key for us was to keep on track with the timelines set out. Bringing on Daffodil developers and QAs definitely helped us successfully do this.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

As we integrated Daffodil team members directly into our team, we had no issues with the workflow. We had calls every working day and this worked well for us.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

We were happy with the developers and QA we received from Daffodil. They integrated well and communicated well - a very important aspect as our team is made up of remote workers.

Are there any areas for improvement?

There is always room for improvement but most importantly, Daffodil helped us to keep to our committed timelines and we were happy with the work produced.

**The Review** — Feb 11, 2020

**Feedback Summary**: The app has attracted a significant userbase thanks to its high-quality functionality. Daffodil Software communicates frequently and works independently to solve issues. Their technical experience allows internal resources to focus on tasks more suited to the skills.
""They are a smaller company yet they exude professionalism."
"

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.

I am the Founder/CEO of 101 Islands LLC, as well as the Grotu app. We are based in California, and have a YouTube channel where we publish content.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with Daffodil Software?

I needed coding done on the Grotu app. I wanted to outsource and have the app designed and developed to my specifications.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?

They recommended certain backend technologies such as React Native and built from the Balsamiq wireframes I provided (20+ diagrams). They assigned us a business analyst who understood what the app would need. Then, they developed the app for iOS and Android, delivering the code We’re in the 2nd phase of development now.

What is the team composition?

I worked with several people, including a team leader, frontend and backend developers, an account manager, and designers.

How did you come to work with Daffodil Software?

I had a shortlist of companies I was interested in using. I went to India and met with Daffodil first. They were professional and had done thousands of apps. Their salespeople engaged me from the start. Their head of technical was very convincing of his knowledge and understanding of what needed to be done.

How much have you invested with them?

We’ve spent more than $30,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

I hired them in February 2018, and it is ongoing.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

The success of their work is basically the app usage. The code quality and functionality of the product is what drives users to continue using it.

How did Daffodil Software perform from a project management standpoint?

They are very responsive. We speak 2–3 times per week on Google Hangouts. There’s also interaction via email.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They do exactly what I ask them to do. They are a smaller company yet they exude professionalism. I didn’t have to learn the different platforms because they did all the coding to make the app work on both iOS and Android. If I find an issue, they figure out how to fix it.

Are there any areas they could improve?

I would suggest they do more extensive testing before code reaches me for my testing. That happens in every case, I believe. Developers don’t find all the bugs; it requires users to find them.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

It depends on the type of engagement you have. They are in a different time zone than us since they’re in India, so there are a lot of times we meet with them at night. It saves some money, but it can make less convenient communication. This requires you to be more involved than if you were paying for a dedicated team to be on it. It also takes more cost involvement. It also depends on your business; you may need to explain the functionality of some apps. Present clear specifications.

- Review Type: Online Review

**The Review** — Jan 9, 2020

**Feedback Summary**: Daffodil Software built a reliable and innovative platform. The work is expected to have many users. Although the release date had to be changed, the final product met all expectations. The project manager was very organized and there were no language barriers.
""...we are very excited to continue working with the team."
"

**BACKGROUND**
Please describe your company and your position there.

MercaDolar, Inc, is a United States corporation, founded in New Yor City. We have been live since February 2016 implementing a unique platform to facilitate remittances and provide USD access to people in Latin America. We offer a fast platform, cheap and without international wires. We do this by creating a market for USD and the local currency of LATAM and then liquidating bilateral exchanges with national transfers. My role in the company is as Legal Manager and Business Development, my responsibility is to ensure the growth of the company along with the implementation of the best practices for the business and comply with all the laws that regulate us. Additionally, part of my role is to direct the company towards new methodologies, applying advanced technology, renewing our products, innovating services and closely following all the projects we are working on.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
For what projects/services did your company hire Daffodil Software?

We hired Daffodil Software to develop our second platform version, we were using a basic platform where we only offered one type of service. We saw the opportunity to include many other products and build a new and advanced platform, using quality technology and offer all our users a very safe service.

When we hired DS, we had a CTO in our company that worked hand in hand with the developer team, a few months later he left the team and since then the CEO of the company and I have been working with them. Finally. In September 2019, we launched our new platform, which was a success, with some errors and problems like any technology project but that we could solve along the way. Now, again we are building a new integration and we are very excited to continue working with the team.

What were your goals for this project?

We required the construction of a platform with custom integrations, responsive design, encrypted information, database migration from V1 to V2, development of new functions, coding languages and more. In addition, we have created a mobile application service to complement the project.

With the construction of this platform we can give access to many users who require a secure remittance service, in turn we can increase the number of transactions as a result of offering more products and better services. By offering a reliable and innovative platform, growth projections in both users and transactions are very good.

**SOLUTION**
How did you select this vendor?

Before hiring DS, we made comparisons of the services offered by many other providers in the United States, Europe, Russia, India and Latin America, at least 5 more companies. We select Daffodil for the good proposal, it is a company with great experience, we doid some research and found good reviews and comments from other customers.

We also received a very kind treatment from the beginning, with the intention of personalizing and adapting their services to our needs. Likewise, our CTO, who was in charge of the hiring process, reviewed the profile of the personnel hired by DS, to ensure that the work provided was of quality and that the team was responsible and able to meet our expectations.

Describe the project and the services they provided in detail.

For the development of this project, we have worked hand in hand with the team, we have been part of the integration process, we have provided documentation, guidelines and we have closely followed all the tasks and progress. For our platform we had to build the following characteristics:

1. New platform design 2. MercaDolar electronic wallet 3. Sell currency 4. Buy currency 5. Transfer money from WTB, BTW, BU. 6. Payment request BU 7. Transaction History 8. BO 9. App Mobile To develop all these features, we have used Azure Devops to have control and knowledge about the status of each task.

The project was divided into epics, user stories, tasks and mistakes. In addition, the entire platform was integrated to a third provider that provided all financial services to our company. Due to this reason, all API documentation was provided by this provider, and as for the design, requirements, specifications and business model we provide it.

What was the team composition?

At first the team was composed of: 1 Project Manager 3 Developers 1 QA 1 Infrastructure Specialist At the end of the project, the team was composed of: 1 Project Manager 7 Developers 2 QA 2 Html Developer 1 infrastructure Specialist In addition, we have an App Mobile team 1 Project Manager 2 Developers

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
Can you share any information that demonstrates the impact that this project has had on your business?

Although we had to change our release date due to some delays, when we finally launched we met all our expectations, over time we reached the stability we needed and had time to improve tasks and develop more tools.

How was project management arranged and how effective was it?

Having a Project Manager was very useful for the team, to have a leadership and work organized. The tools used were Skype, Google Meets, Slack and Azure Devops. We have not had any language barriers and we were able to find a midpoint to solve the time difference.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

They are always willing to listen, talk, work, think in new ideas, always have a good mood, always intend to solve problems and assume their responsibilities. They have good skills despite the younger age.

Are there any areas for improvement?

The only suggestion I could say is about communication, because this is the basis of each relationship, it is very important to have good communication between the team and the client, between the developers, between the project manager and the developers, because if this fails the whole project could fail. We can always find a midpoint to improve the work.

Not just tracking, it also provides the manufacturers and fleet owners with customized reports about moving pattern of the trucks. Autoload has been successfully implemented in 1000+ trucks across India. I am currently Business Head at Autoload.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
For what projects/services did your company hire Daffodil Software?

Our engagement with Daffodil Software was to develop a real-time tracking system with a mobile app, an integrated dashboard for manufacturers and fleet owners, and a backend system for the support team.

What were your goals for this project?

The goal we were trying to achieve through the system was seamless real-time tracking of truck fleet with proper monitoring tools for the manufacturers and fleet owners. Daffodil Software developed the system keeping in mind our exact requirements and helped us achieve the goal seamlessly.

**SOLUTION**
How did you select this vendor?

We evaluated 5-6 software development companies and compared all of them on parameters such as experience in specific domain, technology capabilities, software development approach, software delivery approach and the cost.

We came across the website of Daffodil Software online and their previous work impressed us a lot. We got in touch with them and understood their way of working. We felt that they would be able to work on our project and we are glad they were up to the mark.

Describe the project and the services they provided in detail.

We came to Daffodil Software with a requirement to develop a vehicle tracking solution. The solution includes portable GPS devices, a backend system and a mobile app to monitor the data. The solution was mainly for manufacturers and fleet owners looking for a fleet tracking system.

Daffodil Software provided us with the portable GPS devices linked to the backend system to monitor the vehicles, a comprehensive dashboard that showcases data and statistical reports, an application for the customers and a notification alert feature within the system.

What was the team composition?

We went with a product engineering model and the entire development team was managed by Daffodi

The major impact the project had on our business is that we have managed to get renowned companies like L&T, Exide, Vedanta, Jindal Steel and many more on-board that use the Autoload fleet tracking system. It has been installed in more than 1000 vehicles that are being tracked successfully. This has been possible because of the efficiency of the system.

How was project management arranged and how effective was it?

The entire project was managed through their homegrown project management tool. We received daily/weekly updates on the project and this methodology was very effective during the project development phase. There was a dedicated team of experienced professionals working on the project who went out of their way to fulfill all our requirements.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

The resources in the company are very talented and dedicated. The project manager understood our requirements well, and we had regular interactions to review the progress. Managing Director, Web Dev & Events Info Company

**The Review** — Sep 11, 2019

**Feedback Summary**: Daffodil has developed software that serves as the client’s main product offering and has successfully endowed it with rich functionality. The team has delivered functions such as complex query logic via an appealing user interface. They’ve delivered work that sets them above comparable developers.
"“It’s been a rich and ongoing engagement with them.”
"

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m the manager and director of a small organization with the key focus of delivering an events management app and website.

We’re planning to launch and prove the platform before building the organization out widely. We’ll then operate with both direct employees and freelancers managing the data on the platform. We’re currently targeting the UK, the US, and increasingly other European and global countries.

We’re planning to launch the platform before building the organization out. We’ll then operate as an organization with direct employees or with freelancers managing the data on the platform. We’re currently targeting the UK, the US, and, increasingly, other European and global countries.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with Daffodil Software?

We engaged Daffodil Software for their breadth of capabilities across technical solution definition, app, web, back-end and external API aspects, technical architecture and testing services, rather than engaging multiple parties.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?

They’re currently working on extending the functionality of both the iOS and Android implementations to bring them in line with and extend the original website functionality, updating the web user interface and back-end code versions.

Their main focus is coding for the core functionality, but their work is broadening out into extendable infrastructure work with AWS and even branching into security.

We are looking to Daffodil for support launching and supporting the live application, enabling the app and web-centric business. Further functional developments are planned once we prove the solution commercially.

What is the team composition?

The number fluctuates during our ongoing engagement. At the moment the core team consists of five people but there are a total of nine working at least in part on the project.

How did you come to work with Daffodil Software?

I had initially engaged a local company in London which outsourced several of its projects to Daffodil Software. We then arranged for more direct communication with Daffodil, and moved from there to a direct commercial arrangement and intended long term engagement with them.

How much have you invested with them?

The delivery scope of our more recent direct engagement with Daffodil has totaled around $80,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working with the middle company around 2016, but our direct engagement with Daffodil started in February 2018. It’s been a rich and ongoing engagement with them.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

It’s slightly tricky to provide visual evidence because I’m currently progressing intellectual property matters and the product is still in development.

While some companies use their apps and other software as promotions for their main non-technology products, our offering is a truly functional app and website providing utility to users. Daffodil has been able to support the creation of this tool per our requirements and developed functionality across numerous dimensions including events information management, complex query logic, timezone management, cross-geography differences, differing views for differing user preferences and both public and personal event considerations.

I’m sure there are many developers that can build the first kind of app – as a ‘shop window’ to other products – but I think there are fewer companies that can deliver the sort of rich user functionality that differentiates our platform.

How did Daffodil Software perform from a project management standpoint?

I execute a proportion of the project management myself since this has previously been my personal career focus. Daffodil is strong in providing the key resources, bringing the skilled developers on board and managing them locally. As required they’ve supported my project management of the delivery, rather than owned the project management fully on their side. I can only say that what they’ve delivered has been successful.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They’ve recently showcased their ability not only to respond to user requirements but to recommend options—technical, user experience and to a commercial understanding —for those requirements’ delivery. Daffodil’s expertise on iOS, Android, and web development, as well as their developers’ ability to work together on a common solution, are all valuable to me.

Are there any areas they could improve?

Whilst initially the project could have moved more swiftly, in recent months I’ve been very happy with the speed.

Do you have any advice for future clients of theirs?

The advice would be around arranging with Daffodil a clear core team of resources, building a relationship with those individuals and benefitting from their skills. It helps to have frequent stand-up or scrum meetings with them to keep the progress running, discuss and confirm options to be taken.

Despite some ambiguities, the collaboration was smooth and productive thanks to constant communication and specialized expertise.
""Daffodil Software offered high-quality developers with a wide range of skills."
"

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m the CTO of a SaaS company. We provide a platform that allows users to create virtual tours.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with Daffodil Software?

We engaged Daffodil Software to develop a React frontend and React Native mobile application.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?

Daffodil Software first created a frontend using React Storybook. They created eight storybooks to cover different areas of our website. We conveyed sketches to their team using Zeplin where they could work with the files efficiently and leave comments.

The team then built a React Native mobile app that works with our new backend. We were developing a new API for our 2.0 system that we have yet to launch. We gave Daffodil Software lo-fi designs in Google Presentations to show the screens and flow we wanted. We broke the tasks down per screen and which API endpoints their team would work with.

How did you come to work with Daffodil Software?

Our CEO and one of our signers visited development companies in India. Daffodil Software left the best impression out of the vendors we considered.

What is the status of this engagement?

We worked together from May 2018–March 2019.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

The project has finished, and we’re thrilled with Daffodil Software’s work.

How did Daffodil Software perform from a project management standpoint?

We had weekly Zoom calls, tracked the project’s status with Pivotal Tracker, and collaborated on designs using Zeplin. We invited their team into our Slack channel to encourage communication. Daffodil Software also sent us daily emails that summarized their progress. Daffodil Software excelled at working autonomously with constant and explicit communication.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Daffodil Software offered high-quality developers with a wide range of skills. Their expertise in React Native was a huge plus.

Are there any areas they could improve?

Their communications skills were satisfactory, but there was room for improvement.

Any advice for potential customers?

Be as clear as possible when you’re assigning tasks to Daffodil Software. Provide a design guide and code style in advance to direct their efforts.

We needed support for several challenges. To begin, we had an initial meeting to clarify our needs and Daffodil Software recommended multiple improvements for the process. They helped build and implement technologies to solve our transaction and GPS issues to validate tickets. Their team also made backend modifications to our Android app and helped the product evolve with new features on the internal web dashboards.

What is the team composition?

They provided a team of around 15 people, including a dedicated project manager. I had a point of contact for each part of the project.

How did you come to work with Daffodil Software?

A member of Daffodil Software reached out to us and we worked closely with one of their developers. After being pleased with their approach and transparency, we decided to expand the account.

How much have you invested with them?

We spent $25,000 per month on their services.

What is the status of this engagement?

We worked with Daffodil Software on multiple projects and the work has evolved. The application is currently fully deployed.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We’re fully satisfied with our uptime rate of nearly 100% for the app. We operate at a rate of 100 million data points per day, We’re impressed with the final product on the backend and it is scalable.

How did Daffodil Software perform from a project management standpoint?

We had an in-house project management model. Their team contributed to our effort and we had direct contact with their tech leads throughout the project.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Their superb flexibility and commitment to the project made them stand out from other vendors. They addressed all of our needs and were accommodating. Their team went out of their way to support us.

Are there any areas they could improve?

Though I’m highly satisfied, they could increase the number of quality people on their team. They were a strong group, but there’s always room for improvement.

Do you have any advice for future clients of theirs?

I’d recommend using them for your project if you want a flexible, committed outsourced team. They’re higher quality than most companies I’ve worked with.

**Feedback Summary**: In the two phases of work they’ve completed, Daffodil Software has delivered high-quality work that’s praised by users. The team collaborates efficiently, asking questions and listening carefully to answers. They’re also very organized. The positive experience will likely lead to future work.
"“They managed the project well. The team was both proactive and reactive in their work ethic.”
"

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m the founder of Padup Ventures. We’re a consulting company that works primarily with entrepreneurs, incubators, and accelerators.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with Daffodil Software?

We needed to develop an online management platform and build a website.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?

We gave them a broad description of what we wanted, and they came back with a framework that displayed the user flow and some additional details. We provided feedback, which they incorporated into a final design. We shared a variety of use cases to help them put together a set of specifications. Once we approved those, they started developing the management platform using Java and other technologies. The system has three core features: document sharing, meeting scheduling, and task management. All of the information is updated in real time and visible to our whole company. After completing the platform, they built a website.

What is the team composition?

I worked with a project manager, who led a team of developers. At the end of the project, a lead developer demonstrated the platform’s capabilities.

How did you come to work with Daffodil Software?

A mutual friend referred us to them, and we spoke with their CEO. They’re also only a mile from our office, which was a bonus.

How much have you invested with them?

We spent between $25,000–$49,000 on the project.

What is the status of this engagement?

We worked together from August–November 2017.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We’ve done two phases of work with their team so far, and the feedback has been positive. We have more than a dozen people using the software, and they’re happy with it. The collaboration itself has been smooth and efficient. We’re considering initiating a third phase with the Daffodil Software team.

How did Daffodil Software perform from a project management standpoint?

They managed the project well. The team was both proactive and reactive in their work ethic. Our project manager was responsive and understanding.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Our internal team members really enjoyed working with them because they had a good understanding of our business and goals. Communication was easy. They asked all the necessary questions, following a methodical process to ensure they completed their work on schedule.

Are there any areas they could improve?

No, it was a great experience.

Any advice for potential customers?

Clients should have a clear idea of what they want and be able to articulate it. The initial phases of the engagement are very collaborative, but once the team establishes a direction, they’ll work independently.

**The Review** — Nov 28, 2018

**Feedback Summary**: The team has introduced a lot of excellent product features and ensured that the development progresses smoothly. They are dedicated and able to take the initiative, working independently and proactively, while demonstrating a high skill level.
"“Their skill level is good across the board.”
"

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m the managing director of Finance.co.nz, a financial price comparison website in New Zealand.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with Daffodil Software?

I was moving away from a local development team as they were too expensive, and I was looking for someone else to do the work. I needed a primary development team as well as a support team.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?

They’ve become my only developers now. All the work is done in Drupal and they take care of my Google Analytics as well. I send them documents that outline what I want, and they deliver on those requirements.

What is the team composition?

I work with five or six people. Once things are underway and we’re working on a project, it’s really just me and the developer.

How did you come to work with Daffodil Software?

I did research online and found them through Upwork. I had the job posting up for one day and received 55 responses to it. Daffodil’s documentation around the engagement stood out compared to the others—it was done professionally and the same way I would do it, which was the reason I chose them. With all working relationships, it takes a while to find a flow, but I’ve been very happy with them.

How much have you invested in them?

I’ve invested between $40,000–$50,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We began working together in 2014 and have an ongoing engagement.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

The initial release was just a shell of the website. They introduced the blog and a lot of product features, doing a significant amount of development from what they took over.

I’m currently working on the specifications for a complete change to the look and feel, then it will be their creation after that. The quality of their work so far is good, and I’m really pleased with them. I tend to do surges of work and I ask for certain people in particular who have been great, but their skill level is good across the board.

How did Daffodil Software perform from a project management standpoint?

I’m quite busy and so I don’t have time to always be reviewing things; I need them to be proactive and accommodating. I’ve told them I want them to think as if they are working for our company, as opposed to a third-party, and take the initiative. That has worked well, and we have a good working relationship. We use the phone, email, and Skype to communicate, as well as Google Docs.

What did you find most impressive about them?

I’ve built up a really good rapport with the people I work with. I’ve been very pleased with them and have introduced other clients to them.

Are there any areas they could improve?

None of these types of relationships work straight away—nothing slips into a perfect routine the moment you start. It took a while for our communication and expectations to get aligned, but not too long. I made the right move by going with them.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Managing this kind of work is difficult. Outsourcing does work, but clients need a background in it in order to know the pitfalls. If your teams speak different languages and are engaging in complex and difficult tasks, there are certain things that need to be done to manage it.

Co-Founder, Priceless Places
- Industry: Business services

- Client size: 1-10 Employees
- Review Type: Phone Interview
- Verified

**The Review** — Oct 19, 2018

**Feedback Summary**: The engagement ended before Daffodil could begin the mobile app because of significant time and financial losses. They lacked honesty regarding deadlines and progress and refused to finish the project for the agreed-upon price. Their developmental failures were detrimental to project viability.
""We haven't been treated this way before, and we want to let other people know they should watch out for Daffodil."
"

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.

Respondent 1: I’m the co-founder of Priceless Places, a startup that matches professionals with a suitable work or meeting space. Our company offers approximately 3,500 working environments, meeting spots, and closed rooms such as exam and training locations.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with Daffodil Software?

R1: We found investors during a local startup phase and started to look for a development company to build our website and mobile app.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?

R1: Daffodil should have built a website and a React Native app. We provided them with a 350-page wireframe document describing every page that should have been built with extensive explanations. We thought almost nothing could go wrong as they just had to turn a design into a functional website, translating what they saw on the page into code.

What is the team composition?

R1: Our main point of contact was a project manager. We also met weekly with two developers, an account manager, and the project manager.

How did you come to work with Daffodil Software?

R1: We looked on Clutch, filtered by development companies in India, and spoke with 8–10 via Zoom calls. We decided to go with Daffodil because they said they could make the website for an average cost. They also made a favorable first impression. My co-founder and I could put in as many hours as needed, so we felt we could make it work with Daffodil.

How much have you invested with them?

R1: The contract for the website was $50,000, and the app cost $90,000. However, we spent $26,000 alone on the first phase of the website build.

What is the status of this engagement?

R1: We worked together from December 2017 until August 2018. They told us they’d finish the site in eight weeks. After a five-month delay where they failed to deliver, we ended the engagement.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
Describe the impact this engagement has had on your business.

R1: After a five-month delay, we were left with a product we couldn’t use to generate revenue. We almost lost our investors and had to spend approximately $60,000 more ending contracts with other parties and paying rent and employees. The entire website was in their hands, and they would only share their code if we made the final payment.

Respondent 2: 10–20% of the cost was for QA, but we had to test everything ourselves. It was nearly impossible to document every bug, but we made a list of 600 and gave it to them to fix. They told us the problems were resolved many times, but they were still there when we tested them. We were wasting so much time that we decided to pay them just to end the engagement.

How was project management handled?

R1: The largest problem was that they said they would deliver in eight weeks at most, but still hadn't delivered anything after seven months. We were happy in the beginning, as they kept us updated and gave us documentation over email. Unfortunately, they told us we couldn’t see the site yet, as it was in a staging and not a real-time environment.

When the deadline came closer, they started giving excuses. After a 5- to 6-week delay, we began to think they weren't being honest with us. We told them if they didn’t deliver in one more week, we’d lose a significant amount of money, and they assured us it wouldn't be a problem.

This turned into a five-month delay. If they’d kept us in the loop and said we were looking at a five-month delay, we could’ve ended the engagement then. They simply weren’t honest. As the project grew worse, they started to say they wouldn't deliver to our fixed-price because they’d be doing it at a loss. That’s when we knew it wasn’t going to get better.

Is there anything that the vendor did well or that you would consider a strength?

R1: People could go to them for simple, basic websites.

In what specific areas can they improve?

R1: We had a 350-page wireframe document that we showed to other companies, and almost all of them said they’d never seen such detailed documentation. This is the reason we’re having such a great time with our current provider. They’re able to just read documents and ask us questions. This is the biggest way Daffodil could have performed better.

Even though we had weekly meetings with their entire team, we still only spoke with the project manager, although the developers would step in occasionally if we had a technical question.

What advice do you have for clients with similar needs to yours?

R1: I can’t say anything except “don’t go to Daffodil.” It might be harsh, but we invested too much time in documentation and project management. If someone has to rely on Daffodil’s professionalism and expertise to manage projects, I’d recommend going elsewhere.

It was hard for us, and this is the first time my co-founder and I have been eager to leave a review. We haven't been treated this way before, and we want to let other people know they should watch out for Daffodil.

**Feedback Summary**: The team delivers excellent results, on time, and with high-quality code. They engage with the project management proactively and always ensure they have good resources available. Above all, they are flexible and willing to communicate well to ensure goal alignment.
"“They’ve been able to deliver on projects and create a lot of new code.”
2.5.0.0
"

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.

I work for Experieco as a technical lead. We provide IT services and product development.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with Daffodil Software?

We’re a service company, so at times we have particularly big loads, and at other times, smaller loads. It can make it challenging to have a significant number of permanent staff.

For that reason, we needed a company to help us to scale up quite significantly when we have a bigger project, then we can go back to support mode when the project finishes.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?

We have a team on site that works in conjunction with Daffodil’s team. They worked mainly on .NET software development as well as agile functions and Azure SQL. We’ve also engaged them in ReactJS consultancy, and they provided an architect who gave us general guidance and high-level best practices.

What is the team composition?

We have a few points of contact. We speak to the developers and their technical lead daily, as well as during stand-up meetings and review. I also engage with our account manager from time to time.

How did you come to work with Daffodil Software?

We had been looking for an outsourced partner that would fit our needs when scaling the project. It was a challenge to find good talent in the Auckland market, but Daffodil seemed to be the best of our options. They had a large amount of experience and a decent sized talent pool in their office.

What is the status of this engagement?

We began working with them in July 2018, and the relationship is still ongoing.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

They produce very good results. They’ve been able to deliver on projects and create a lot of new code.

Any engagement involves a learning curve, and it was the same in this case. It was the first time our company used an outsourcing partner, so we had a learning process of our own. We’ve been able to work quite successfully, especially in the last few months, when we’ve had an extremely productive run.

How did Daffodil Software perform from a project management standpoint?

They’re quite productive. We do the project management on our side, but they’re proactive with their resource management. Jira is our main form of tracking the tasks and time.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They try to provide us with as much support as we need at any particular time. They’re able to provide us with an architect on an on-demand basis and are really flexible, which we appreciate.

Are there any areas they could improve?

There’s a learning curve at the start of any engagement, so everything needs to be well-aligned. We had to make sure the coding was the same on both our sides, as well as the communication and task management.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Make sure things are aligned at the beginning of your engagement.

**The Review** — Oct 11, 2018

**Feedback Summary**: Although the contract was paid in full, the platform crashed constantly and did not fulfill the entire scope of work. The company lost many clients and sales because the site lacked functionality. Daffodil Software did not address critical software bugs or issue the partial refund they offered.
""I lost many customers and thousands of dollars, and engaged another company to fix the issue."
"

**BACKGROUND**
Please describe your company and your position there.

We're a recruitment agency that supplies casual relief teachers to primary and secondary schools. I'm the managing director.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
For what projects/services did your company hire Daffodil Software?

We wanted to develop a web application to serve as our booking and management system.

What were your goals for this project?

Our basic goal was to develop a system that matched teachers to schools and helped administrators manage schools, teachers, and bookings.

**SOLUTION**
How did you select this vendor?

We used Clutch to shortlist four companies. We sent them a detailed scope of work, spoke to them on Skype, and chose Daffodil Software. They weren't the cheapest, but we were impressed with the salesperson's understanding of the project, the size of their business, and their proposed development process.

Can you go into detail about the services they provided and the scope of the project?

We wanted a web application with an AngularJS frontend, a Laravel backend, and a MySQL database, deployed to my Amazon Web Services (AWS) account.

The scope of work included features for teachers to register their interest, log into their dashboard, manage their profile, enter their availability, accept and manage bookings, and access additional resources.

The administrative dashboard enabled schools to manage their profile, make and edit bookings, add resources, edit teacher and school information, manage bookings, and add school accounts.

What was the team composition?

The team consisted of one team manager, one project manager, one frontend developer, two or three code developers, and one deployment manager. There may have been others, but I dealt with the team manager and project manager.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
Can you share any information that demonstrates the impact that this project has had on your business?

The project was broken into milestones. We paid 50% of the project costs in the first three weeks, and another 20% shortly after. Then they stopped following the scope of work. They said I could end the contract, but would still need to pay the full amount. Since I had invested months of time and a considerable amount of money, I had to accept the changes. Then they replaced the project manager. The new project manager wasn't familiar with the project, so it took another four weeks before I felt comfortable again.

After completing development, I paid the balance and we began deployment. Everything seemed to work correctly. The finished product didn't match the scope of work, but I was relieved that the process was over.

I started having issues shortly afterward. Daffodil Software hadn't fixed the main booking problem. In the first week of use, the platform crashed and would not process bookings. I sent email after email, but they didn't resolve the issue. This had a huge impact on my business. I lost many customers and thousands of dollars, and engaged another company to fix the issue.

I wanted to forget the process, but Daffodil Software said they would refund an amount. After many emails and phone calls, I gave up on ever receiving the funds.

How was project management arranged and how effective was it?

Daffodil Software did not manage this project well.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

The sales team was fantastic. They clearly understood the project, the contract, and the scope of work. Unfortunately, the development team didn't have the same understanding.

Are there any areas where they can improve?

They didn't listen to me when discussing the scope of work. They told me, in a nice way, that I had to choose between accepting their process or ending the contract. They knew I was fully invested in the project and had to accept changes. Every time I asked to complete an item from the scope of work, they said it would require "extra effort." I had to refer back to the scope and explain where the items were listed.

### Remote Patient App Modernization
AliveCor’s smart devices have electrodes to sense and transmit EKG rhythms to the smartphone. The client already had an app that integrates with the smart device to collect and view EKG recordings. However, their app needed modernization with respect to its features, technology, and user experience.
AliveCor reached out to Daffodil for revamping the existing app with a new set of features, to bring detail and accuracy in the EKG report, update the legacy code with the latest technology, improve the user experience of the app, etc. The existing apps were built on Java and Objective C while the requirement was to update it with Kotlin and Swift. The key requirements were:
-To implement major feature updates including enabling the app to detect approximately 30 abnormalities in EKG (which were previously limited to 5).
-To improve the visibility of 6-lead EKG reading on the app along with some other UX fixes.
-To comply with FDA and HIPAA standards for remote care monitoring. Due to team AliveCor’s stringent compliance requirements, team Daffodil had to pay attention to every minute detail of data interoperability and data privacy.

### Homeopathy Software Development
Synergy Homeopathy had a digital material medica in order to enable students and doctors to search for relevant medical information. Materia medica is a Latin term for the body of collected knowledge about the therapeutic properties of any substance. The digital materia medica is driven by a huge database. However, the lack of advanced search filters was affecting the performance of the application. The average time to get an output for a search was very high, leading to an adverse effect on the user experience of the solution.
The portal also needed an update at the technology level as there were several issues such as latency, low loading speed, low concurrency, etc. Moreover, the UI of the application wasn’t allowing users to seamlessly navigate through different segments of the materia medica, and searching for relevant information was a strenuous task. There was a huge scope to modernize the UI of the application and incorporate modern features in the application.
Synergy Homeopathy was on the lookout for a technology partner that could help them with the technological advancement of their application. The client zeroed upon Daffodil Software considering our expertise in developing innovative and robust healthcare applications as well as unparalleled experience in the latest technologies. The requirement was to:
-Revamp the entire technology landscape of the portal thus making it more robust and experiential to use.
-Incorporated a user-friendly search functionality in the portal that could allow users to locate content by searching for specific words, phrases, or rubrics.
-To improve the UX of the web portal to make it more user-friendly and increase user engagement.
-Develop a medical practice management system with different access levels and roles that can help their clinical staff and practitioners manage day-to-day clinical operations and patient data efficiently.

### Patient Engagement Platform Modernization
Speed is a major strategic advantage for startups and being fast and quick to market gives them a huge competitive edge. Lybrate was experiencing rapid growth in the adoption of its telehealth platform that connected healthcare professionals, patients, pharmacies, and pathology labs through an online portal. However, the challenge was to evolve the product further and implement user feedback, new functionalities, and features in a timely manner. Lybrate was struggling to maintain a balance between maintaining its existing product and evolving it to the next level. It lacked the necessary technical resources to implement these new features and product enhancements as quickly as its competitive strategy required.
Hence, Lybrate was on the lookout for a technology partner and eventually zeroed in on Daffodil Software basis our deep understanding of the Healthcare domain, mature organizational capabilities, and abundance of skill set in niche technologies. The key challenges that Daffodil was presented with were:
-To understand Lybrate’s business model and help them build on the initial success by not only evolving their application as per market needs but also keeping it abreast of the technology curve.
-To improve the performance and scalability of the application as it was built using an obsolete technology stack as well as lacked optimized code, which resulted in an unseen technical debt.
-To incorporate various innovative features such as text consultation, telehealth, telemedicine modules, patient forums, etc. in both apps.

### Custom Healthcare Software Development
Shifo Foundation was using its proprietary data reporting solution for managing its processes, generating KPIs and reports, and storing healthcare information. Its web application was built on an obsolete version of the Python platform and had many technical and functional lags. The performance of the web application was not up to the mark which impacted its usability. The application was not easily scalable and as Shifo dealt with a monstrous volume of data, there was a critical requirement for better scalability. Along with this, the application also required data loading improvements, security advancements, and easy identification of errors in the existing processes. The organization also wanted to augment its team with expert Python developers to ensure full-time support and continuous improvements and upgrades for its web application.
Shifo Foundation was in search of a technology partner that could not only improve and upgrade its current application but also provide them with constant support of web developers to regularly enhance their software application. Daffodil Software with its expert team of Python developers and astute healthcare industry experience showcased the superior ability to fit in the requirement and was welcomed aboard by the Shifo Foundation to fulfill its technical limitations.
-To upgrade the existing Python-based web application and make it more scalable and high-performance to ensure faster and more efficient data loading and processing.
-To provide trained and experienced Python developers to work with the Shifo team ensuring constant technical and development support.
-To automate the data loading and report generation process as it was a cumbersome and inefficient process to do manually.

HiNT is a Canada based startup that offers proprietary solutions to help people deal with stroke.
HiNT wanted to reduce the communication gap between paramedics and emergency response team to ensure that on-time treatment is provided to stroke, STEMI, and trauma patients. For this, HiNT was on a lookout for a technology partner who can help them transform their vision into a viable solution.
