As part of ongoing efforts to scale out our business, we launched Token Tool, an EVM based tokenization software. The product enables quick creation of tokens adhering to ERC standards, designed to run on Layer 1 and Layer 2 EVM compatible networks. The aim was to provide a product that allows anyone with zero to low coding skills to deploy fungible and non-fungible tokens.

It only required a couple of short calls to kick off the work. The cooperation was highly efficient without wasting time on unnecessary meetings. We chose to use Slack for communication purposes. It’s a direct way to communicate that saves a lot of time. Efficient communication was essential, allowing us to focus on working within schedule and the deadlines we set. They provided daily updates via slack on the work progress.

For the past 23 years, we have been developing proprietary technologies that lead in validly determining and visually representing human experience.

It is made up of three parts; direct perception (system 0), implicit feelings (system 1), and reflexive thoughts (system 2). I am COO and Partner at eye square and on a daily basis I work directly with DAC.digital technology and management team.

We wanted to develop further our internal product called Spark. Spark Platform allows users to automate the marketing surveys. It is the most powerful, implicit user testing platform we run and we wanted it to be intuitive and self-serviced by the users.

We asked DAC.digital because of their technical knowledge and experience in connecting various technologies and tools to develop end-to-end solutions. For us it was about well-designed and intuitive UX and UI but also about backed security and scalability of the platform for the future

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

We wanted to have a technology partner with the highest possible competences. We looked for the right references, credentials and we reviewed the CVs of the team they proposed. We took great care in checking their communication — do they understand us, do they give feedback, do they ask questions.

Another thing was the time-to-market aspect — we had deadlines in place and it was important that they meet the project deadlines. It took us only a couple of weeks to be assured that DAC.digital met all requested factors.

The project started only after 2 weeks of initial discussions, estimations and agreement on the frame agreement and service order. DAC.digital selected a dedicated team covering the aspects of UX/UI, devops, backend and frontend development and tests. The project was divided into sprints and was managed by DAC.digital with full SCRUM methodology.

We had two meetings each week and got to know all the relevant devlopers, which was special for us and gave us great insight in the progress. Demo sessions were always on time and not cancelld or postponed. Also we had and open communication channels with the whole team, which help a lot.

The team consisted of a business person to handle the business part (NDA, agreements and high-level project communication), technical project manager and scrum master who translated well our needs into the backlog used by the UX/UI and development and QA team.

There were also touchpoints with the UX/UI experts, and cross-functional development team covering devops part, backend and frontend, including testing.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

First of all we are very happy with the perfect timing of the project and delivery of the solution we needed. DAC.digital perfectly fit into the time frame proposed and also delivered a set of extra functionalities on top of what was agreed before the start. The quality of the code and work including UX/UI was spot on.

Communication was flawless and every stage of the project we knew the status and where they were with the delivery of the solution.

We had dedicated team members selected between the companies and across teams - on eye square the product owner and on the DAC.digital technical PM/Scrum master. Communication was quick, up to the point and we had a lot of nice suggestions for improvements and handling the process.

The project ran as “fixed price, fixed scope and fixed time” and all aspects were met 100%. They even added additional features in the agreed timeline and budget which was a cherry on top! All team memebers spoke perfect English and even German. All the important questions were dicussd in the beginning and the progres was alwasy transparent to us.

Communication and cross technology and cross vertical experience and depth of the team that delivered the solution was impressive. They are not only service providers but first of all — deliver added value on top of what they were asked for, with fresh ideas and suggestions.

The process management was impressive. We felt like everything ran smoothly and finished the project on time, which is also not common!

Dansinn Dance Studios is a franchising business in the dance industry, headquartered in Hong Kong. Its offering covers dance instruction, dance studio operations, dance events, branding, and more.

Licensing know-how, IP, and tech-access to franchisees in mainland China and Europe. In 2013-2014, as the Managing Director and shareholder, I was personally managing the project on our end, from an early idea through development to the platform launch.

Currently, I am the CEO of one of the world’s leading manufacturers of radio-controlled toy-vehicles, with 60+ years of market presence.

We requested consulting and development in the field of IT systems that will support franchisees in running dance studios; and help the franchisor, the headquarters, to see the progress in network growth. In general, we needed a custom-made, tailored to our needs, management platform for a franchising business with global ambitions.

We were looking for a software house somehow known or already tried out by someone in our network. The management board and founders have reached out to their connections and so forth.

The IT industry was quite new to us at the time. We needed someone we could trust to some extent to get us through the process. In fact, none of our competitors have decided to gain competitive advantage through an investment in a dedicated IT platform.

Firstly, the system was supposed to facilitate the growth of franchising network. But the most important value was actually the competitive advantage and the differentiator we gained to outrun our competitors. Dansinn Cloud was one of the strategic initiatives for our business to grow.

Apart from all the intellectual property, know how, brands, connections, key dancers involved, and so on - we had at hand an unprecedented thing: a dedicated software platform for networked dance industry.

Starting from Hong Kong we succeeded and introduced the Dansinn brand to mainland China and Europe. Then targeting Japan and the United States. The system was intended as a leverage.

The team assigned to our project consisted of 10-12 people. The most frequent contact, of course, we had with the product owner and product manager; also with the UX/UI designer, the architect-analyst, and testers. But we had also the opportunity to meet iOS and Android developers and those software engineers who worked on the front-end and back-end.

Once the platform was launched, we were supported by a dedicated maintenance-service engineer. And the product owner who took care of quick fixes, updates, improvements, backlog management, new feature development, and so on.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

There are two wins for us. Dansinn Cloud platform, on the one hand, helps franchisees to run their business while, on the other, it provided the franchisor with tools to monitor and control the overall performance of the network.

Of course, performance indexes are the basis to calculate royalty fees that are paid to the headquarters in Hong Kong. So the system with all its scrutiny is “the guardian” of the revenue streams from operations worldwide.

From August 2013 for a year, the team has been delivering software releases on a two-weekly basis, giving us a chance to learn about functionalities and user experience and to provide them with early feedback.

It worked well as they used an Scrum approach to make us focus on the user value delivery instead of having in mind all the tech-details... It was actually a great experience for us, business-people from a completely different industry with merest background in high-tech.

All the team found its way through the challenges of a cross-cultural project as we requested that the platform should be available in Chinese; we also held a “discovery workshop” in Hong Kong. Later on, we had insisted on teleconference calls or simultaneous work sessions despite quite a painful time zone gap.

Apart from their technical skills, they impressed us with a deep understanding of the dance industry they won in a relatively short time. This translates to a very good understanding of the needs of our customers.

The intention was to give our customers an added value in the form of a platform integrated with the sensors installed in every Schwarte Group truck. Transport monitoring for liquefied loads is challenging, but the DAC has found a great solution.

The main goal was to create a complete product that would meet the needs of our clients.

Our product utilizes geoinformatics technologies to optimize routes and monitor rolling stock in rural areas, which are not covered by standard navigation systems. This solution facilitates the management of logistics processes in both dairy cooperatives, as well as in external transport companies.

In addition to the process and organizational improvements, one of the essential advantages of this platform is the reduction of fuel consumption and the total cost of transportation. The experience of recent deployments shows that these savings can be as high as 20%.

Can you share any information that demonstrates the impact that this project has had on your business?

At the end of this year, we finished the development stage and customization of the TMS platform to our needs. The work went very agile and the DAC team was very helpful in the creation and design process.

At the moment we are in the testing stage where we installed the system and sensors on 100 of our trucks to get feedback from drivers and our customers. Via platform developed in the cooperation with DAC, our clients have access to all real-time information about their truck fleet - real-time tracking, supplier and recipient characteristics, and locations, current stage, etc.

How was project management arranged and how effective was it?

The cooperation went very well. We were communicating via GH, email, etc. We also visited the DAC office several times to follow up on the progress of the project and the next steps. Everything went smoothly.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

In my opinion, they're the most responsive company that I’ve ever had the pleasure of working with. Their open-door policy significantly contributed to the project’s collaborative experience.

I'm POSITION in Mlekovita, the biggest dairy company in Poland, which is hiring over 2000 employees, have a 19 manufacturing plants and is selling our products in 159 countries.

The main challenge of DAC was to develop a solution that can support our logistics activities and accelerate planning. Also, we wanted the solution to communicate with drivers and our logistics department. In all our production plants, we buy milk from several thousand farmers, which needs to be transported to the production plant.

Transport planning used to take us a lot of time so we contacted DAC with our idea of a solution that we would like to implement. During further works and workshops, the functionality of this solution has changed, but the core concept has been implemented.

What were your goals for this project?

The main goal was to create a MVP of solution that will help us to improve the milk transport planning process. We needed to analyze and optimize our drivers' routes to reduce fuel consumption and control the level of vehicle loading capacity.

We found DAC through a referral from a company which had used DAC services in the past. DAC received a strong recommendation as a business partner delivering excellent quality within a reasonable price range and have an innovative approach to every project and client. The project had two stages:

1. The preparation stage: we defined functionalities of the platform and the development of a prototype device with sensors. After the workshops that took place at the DAC headquarters, we received a scope of the project with cost and time estimation, schedule of work with sprints etc.
2. Development stage: we wanted to develop an information system for assisting and monitoring the process of milk collection from a vast network of suppliers. We also wanted to eliminate possible fraud of suppliers. One of the main functionalities was to enable users to make full use of GPS technologies for route optimization and transport monitoring in rural areas not included in standard navigation systems.

The tools support drivers in steep terrain, facilitate dynamic reactions to the temporary unavailability of routes and reduce the risk and costs of fortuitous events. The ideal solution should aid the management of logistics processes, both in milk plants and in external transport companies.

My main point of contact was the project manager and CTO. In the beginning, we worked with seven to eleven developers. Now two to three developers are involved in the maintenance services.

Can you share any information that demonstrates the impact that this project has had on your business?

We have been saving of up to 20% kilometers and 30% total cost. We saved 50% planning time. The system makes it possible to rotate drivers on the routes, and we have been lower by up to 80% the induction training time. Our platform allows our employee's fast access to all real-time information about transport: fleet time, supplier and recipient characteristics and locations, current stage of realization of the routes, position on the fleet and drivers.

The workflow was smooth and efficient. I have no complaints. We communicated through email, Google Hangouts and Skype calls, and everything was very well-organized. The team was responsive and helpful.

We wanted to develop a platform for managing our maintenance activities combined with sensors monitoring the condition of our traffic lights devices.

What were your goals for this project?

This platform was supposed to allow us to manage the necessity of maintenance many traffic lights devices, help to reduce the costs of maintenance readiness and the costs of implementing new technical service contracts. We wanted to develop a solution to help us in the implementation of very demanding conditions of the Service Level Agreement and we also had to share the documentation from maintenance works of each device with the owner of the infrastructure.

During proceeding with our platform, we have launched a tender for IT works. During negotiations about conditions of cooperation and goals with a few companies, DAC turned out as the most suitable technology partner. Since then, the scope of our collaboration has expanded significantly.

With DAC, we have prepared a scalable architecture of the solution that the system works steadily with a very large number of connected devices. The platform has a couple of modules for managing service requests, limiting the time and costs associated with the implementation of requests. Panel to view the process of maintenance implementation in real-time. It automated technical service requests by connecting various types of traffic light controllers. Additionally, the DAC created a mobile application for service teams operating in the field, which helped them to facilitate the receipt of orders and reporting the status of work.

We contacting mainly with CTO and Project Manager but on the whole project worked 12 developers.

Can you share any information that demonstrates the impact that this project has had on your business?

First of all, now we have the possibility of new contracts in areas not available to us, before. We have reduced the maintenance costs by almost 30% and reduced the losses related to contract penalties for failure to meet the SLA conditions by over 75%.

Our cooperation assumed the development of the system from scratch - from concept to full functionality of the solution. The conceptual work went very smoothly. DAC gave us its know-how on how to create that type of solution and supported us in creating the scope of functionality. The people with whom we had the opportunity to work have a huge knowledge about IoT projects, so we were able to quickly create the scope of a platform that will be stable and will help us achieve all our business goals. The project is still being developed and as long as we decide to further develop our system, we will cooperate with DAC.

The project which DAC helped us with is related to the custom software development of an IoT system designed to manage and process city infrastructure data (e.g. delivered by IoT devices mounted in intersections). The intelligent cloud-based system, which is at the core of the application, can be configured to suit specific user requirements in any smart city environment; it can also be used to adjust intersection lights depending on traffic flow or measure the velocity of traffic in key city locations, adjusting lights according to live conditions. The team developed the frontend and backend systems of the application, including dedicated data flows/big data analysis.

DAC helped us with the backend development and consultations about hardware integrations with various sets of sensors. We had a project manager and 6 engineers working with us.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

The 2 most important outcomes and feedback include:

1. Fast reaction time from DAC to provide developers with certain technologies.
2. Duration to complete MVP was much shorter and cheaper than we expected.

We were very happy with the communication style and tools used. Their team was embedded with our team. They adapted to using the tools which were most familiar to us. They also suggested new tools for comms which we were not using earlier.

Their depth of knowledge and resources provided was impressive. We were able to get a straight answer to our questions very rapidly. Their honesty and business case analysis were also very valued!

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

Compared to other service providers we have used, we have no complaints or issues with their delivery. They were extremely flexible with us and using comms tools we are comfortable.
