Composite started from scratch with a demand generation workshop that clearly identified our audience and defined the customer pain points we needed to focus on with our messaging.

Composite delivered an amazing, award winning (literally) website and branding package. It was designed to purposefully serve as a foundation to build from as we grow and expand our offerings. We couldn’t be happier.

We communicated mostly via email, although I also had several text conversations with Callum. That’s the level of service you can expect. I felt like they were truly members of our team.

Their teams ability to ask meaningful questions and listen to the answers in a way that allowed them to quickly distill the essence of our very nuanced business was the most impressive, aside from what they delivered.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

No. Any issues that arose were dealt with promptly and completely. They are true professionals.

Our product and aspirations had grown significantly, and our brand and website no longer captured the entirety of our story. Our goals for Composite were to build a brand and website that truly represented what we stand for, and that our customers can see themselves in.

We researched multiple different web and brand consultant groups, and the technologies they were working in. We also extensively reviewed previous work these agencies had done. Composite clearly led the pack, and worked with the types of companies we view as peers in terms of stage and mission.

Async reference gathering, then a kick-off call to cover the scope of work for the project, and deliverables. Composite also provided a clear expectation as to the internal resources I needed to devote to the project, which was extremely helpful.

Callum (founder) and 3 of his team members primarily (copywriter, designer, animator).

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

After launching our new brand and website, investors are more engaged, customers are converting at a higher rate, our marketing materials and success have increased, and we are starting to see some really promising search analytics.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Composite did flow development for our website using Webflow, and helped us enhance our SEO — it was a general update and rebuild of some items in our platform.

We found them via Upwork; after having an initial chat, they gave me an upfront quote, and I decided to go with them based on their previous work.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

They were thorough and could find many things outside the scope that we could fix and improve our SEO, which is great. We have overall great feedback.

How did Composite perform from a project management standpoint?

We had weekly meetings and communicated through Slack — we had regular review sessions for updates or questions that could arise. We also used email and Google Meet.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They were a detailed-oriented and thorough team. They also were proactive in telling us how to enhance our site even though they didn’t have to, which improved and streamlined our platform.

I don’t think there’s anything they could improve on — it was great to work with them.

Overall the workflow was effective and there was a tight feedback loop with clear next steps after each step in the process.

The design process was clear and a lot of time was spent with us to make sure we were not just building a site that looked 'pretty' but one that delivered real business value

Overall, we were happy with the process and outcome. We might have liked to see a few different color/branding concepts to choose between prior to Composite moving forward with a high-fidelity design

I am a founder of Ukhanyo Foundation. Ukhanyo Foundation is a Non-Profit Organisation based in Cape Town, South Africa. Sandiswa Gwele started Ukhanyo Foundation with the dream of a future in which South African youth in townships can pursue their ambitions, confidently seek to better their lives, and break the cycle of poverty.

Composite came highly recommended to us by one of our directors and after speaking with them and looking at past projects, we were confident in their ability to help with our project.

Our engagement with Composite began by identifying core areas of growth we were looking to improve. Composite designed and presented a logo and identity design that were built on South African imagery and appealed to the wide range of people in our community. We then worked with them through the challenges of building a donation system in the restrictive South African legal system and produced a simple and effective tool for fundraising.

The brand and website have received widespread positive feedback from our peers, allowing us to take the next steps in developing our digital presence.

The communication between our teams was very direct and easy. They were able to plan and execute a photoshoot while working directly with many of our staff. Overall, Composite was very easy to work with and a pleasure!

We were happy with their quality of work and organization throughout the entire process. We were able to see how our feedback and direction were directly implemented in the work they produced.

Due to time constraints, we wish we could have worked with Composite longer. However, we're very happy with what we accomplished in the short amount of time!

I selected Composite because of the other work they had done as well as their familiarity with Webflow as a whole.

First, we had an introductory call for them to walk me through the process, then we had a brand voice meeting where we went through how the target customer would be reached. Then it was on to mockups in Figma. After approval, it was one week of web flow development and the project was ready to go.
