We hired Compas Agency to improve our visibility in both organic search results and AI-powered search experiences (such as Google’s AI Overviews and chatbot responses). The main goals were to increase organic rankings, grow targeted traffic, and ensure our brand appears in AI-generated answers through strategic content optimization and AI-ready SEO implementation.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Compas Agency handled end-to-end SEO optimization with an AI-visibility focus. This included conducting a comprehensive site audit, optimizing existing content for AI discoverability, implementing technical SEO improvements, creating new AI-optimized content, and setting up tracking for both traditional and AI-generated search results. Main deliverables included restructured content, technical documentation, performance reports, and strategic recommendations for ongoing optimization.Compas Agency took a balanced approach, focusing on both content and technical SEO in parallel. On the content side, they restructured our existing pages and created new material specifically optimized for AI discovery — making sure our information could be easily understood and referenced by AI systems. On the technical side, they implemented structured data markup, improved site architecture, and ensured our website was properly configured for both traditional search crawlers and AI platforms. I’d say it was roughly 50/50 between content optimization and technical implementation, as both were critical for achieving visibility in AI-generated answers.

We worked together from June–December 2025.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We saw significant measurable improvements across several key metrics. Organic traffic increased by approximately 45%–50% over the six-month period. Our keyword rankings improved substantially — we moved into the top 10 positions for 15+ target keywords that were previously ranking on pages 2–3. Most importantly for our AI visibility goals, we started appearing in Google’s AI Overviews for 8–10 industry-relevant queries, and our brand began showing up in responses from ChatGPT and other AI platforms when users asked about our service area. Conversion rates from organic traffic also improved by about 20%, showing that we were attracting more qualified visitors.Honestly, tracking AI visibility is still an emerging area, so we used a combination approach. For Google’s AI Overviews, Compas Agency monitored our target keywords manually and used SEO tools that have started adding AI Overview tracking features. For chatbot responses, it was mostly manual — regularly testing relevant prompts in different AI platforms to see if our brand appeared. It’s not as straightforward as traditional SEO tracking yet, but we could clearly see the improvement over time.For us, the most important metric was AI visibility — specifically, whether our brand was appearing in AI-generated answers for relevant industry queries. That was the primary goal from the start. Traditional SEO metrics like organic traffic growth and keyword rankings were important as foundational indicators, but the real measure of success was breaking into that new channel of AI-powered search. We also closely watched the quality of traffic — not just volume, but whether visitors from these new sources were engaging with our content and converting into leads.

Their project management was solid. We had clear timelines from the start, regular status updates, and they generally hit their deadlines. There were a couple of minor delays — mostly related to waiting for our internal approvals or content review — but nothing significant. Communication was good; they kept us informed and were quick to respond when we had questions.

What did you find most impressive about them?

What really stood out was their expertise in AI-driven SEO. This is still a relatively new and evolving area, and they demonstrated a genuine understanding of how to optimize for AI platforms, not just traditional search engines. That specialized knowledge in AI visibility was exactly what we needed and what made them unique compared to other agencies we considered.

Are there any areas they could improve?

A couple of small things: The initial onboarding could’ve been slightly more streamlined — there was quite a bit of information gathering at the start. Also, while communication was generally good, there were occasional gaps where we weren’t sure what was happening week-to-week during the implementation phases. More proactive updates during those quieter periods would’ve been reassuring. But these are minor points in an otherwise successful project.
