Magda Butrym is a luxury womenswear brand operating internationally. I'm the CEO of the company.

For what projects/services did your company hire commerce-ui, and what were your goals?

We hired commerce-ui to build our new ecommerce on the Shopify platform.

How did you select commerce-ui and what were the deciding factors?

Our network recommended commerce-ui as a team with experience in luxury and high-fashion projects. We also involved our creative agency Ania et Lucie to advise us in the discovery stage before we decided to work with commerce-ui. We had a few initial calls to discuss their workflow, experience, tech stack. Taking everything into account, we were excited to partner with them.

Our design studio shared designs via Invision. We divided our workflow into stages. Commerce-ui was responsible for: front-end development (React) setup and integration of Shopify data migration implementing Prismic (headless CMS)

How many people from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?

We worked mainly with Marcin, who was the primary touchpoint for communication and management. On the technical side, there were two senior frontend developers and one backend developer.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

The most important fact was that commerce-ui managed to face tight timeline expectations. (We planned to launch the new ecommerce together with our pre fall collection). The general feedback from our customers and partners is very positive. Recently we have been present at Paris Fashion Week, which was 100 % online due to Covid-19, and we exceed our sales expectations. We see tangible results in shifting towards rebuilding our ecommerce.

The communication was excellent. We had daily communication through Slack, Google Meet. Each week we planned the priority of tasks. By the end of the week, we were given a report from Jira with completed tasks and time allocated to each of them.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

Finding a development team with such a high sensibility to design is very rare! Having Marcin (co-founder and lead designer) on the management side is a secret sauce for high-quality standards. Also, they were fully dedicated to our success, spending some after-hours before our launch. We appreciated it a lot!

Are there any areas for improvement?

We were very happy with this partnership and plan to continue working together.

For what projects/services did your company hire commerce-ui, and what were your goals?

We needed a team experienced in React.js. The client is a tech-savvy SV startup, and they’ve asked specifically for this tech stack on the front-end.

How did you select commerce-ui and what were the deciding factors?

Commerce-ui reached us some time ago to ask for our Shopify expertise in one of their projects. We had a great chat and a very common vision of quality that we both represent. I kept them in mind for possible future cooperation. I knew that they had strong experience with React and ecommerce, so once the opportunity arose, it was a snap decision to partner with them.

Oura Ring received significant financing round, and they decided to rebuild their e-commerce experience completely in order to augment some key KPIs. The old store relied on legacy tech stack (WooCommerce), which was a substantial blocker for future growth. Oura engaged Black & Black to build a new site that is futureproofed with incredible performance.

One Project Manager, Two front-end developers (one senior) and one designer providing in-house feedback.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

Despite working under an extremely tight timeline, commerce-ui delivered an incredible headless eCommerce site that met all of our project's goals. The client was incredibly please with the outcome and I am pleased with how the cooperation went.I would not hesitate to hire the Commerce-ui team again.

The commerce-ui team was dedicated, skillful and good at communicating. We used Slack & Jira to communicate and manage the project.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

The commerce-ui team was the best frontend react team we have ever worked with. They executed pixel perfect frontend templates without much feedback. Rare!

Are there any areas for improvement?

Nothing major. The guys are a pleasure to work with! If they could replicate more of their people that would be great!

I'm the Partner & Creative Director at Ania et Lucie is a multi-disciplinary creative agency based in New York City.

For what projects/services did your company hire commerce-ui, and what were your goals?

Commerce-ui was responsible for end-to-end ecommerce development. The goal was to create an ecommerce store based on our designs. We wanted a collaborative team who would take on new challenges, implement designs to be pixel-perfect with refined animations.

How did you select commerce-ui and what were the deciding factors?

We were involved with the client during the development partner selection. Marcin (co-founder) of commerce-ui is a designer, sowe felt that we have a common understanding of what we are trying to achieve. Their portfolio seemed most in line with what we were looking for in terms of refinment.

The client had an incredibly tight timeline. The designs were broken out into 2 batches and handed off to the team in parts. They started by coding the homepage, product listing page, product description page, and core ecommerce features, while we were finishing batch 2 of designs.

Their flexibility was crucial for meeting deadlines. We handed our designs via Zeplin and Invision. Overall the process was great, and we feel that commerce-ui is a great and reliable team for ecommerce development.

As far as we know, four people were involved. Two senior front-end developers, one back-end developer and Marcin, who was responsible for communication and management.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

The ecommerce store functions very well, and we have very positive feedback across all involved parties. It was vital for us to have a development partner with the highest quality because it helps us attract new customers.

They’re cooperative, talented, and easy to get in touch with. We used Trello to report tasks/bugs. For daily communication, we used Slack and Google Meet. Marcin suggested some solutions which could keep our design vision, meanwhile reduce the development cost. I think it’s a great customer-centered approach.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

Commerce-ui clearly understood our vision. They were insightful and willing to push the bar high—all under very high time pressure. We haven’t seen ecommerce developed so fast.

Are there any areas for improvement?

This was our first project together, and think it was a great collaboration.

To build a pre-release page for one of the biggest office investments in Warsaw. We had to deliver a highly-performant website for one of our biggest clients - Ghelamco. Ghelamco Group is a leading European real estate investor and developer operating in the office, residential, retail and logistics markets. The site was the main touchpoint for future enterprise customers. The main goal was to market and drive leads for sales.

We had to deliver a highly-performant website for one of our biggest clients - Ghelamco. Ghelamco Group is a leading European real estate investor and developer operating in the office, residential, retail and logistics markets. The site was the main touchpoint for future enterprise customers. The main goal was to market and drive leads for sales.

We needed an experienced team as the deadline was tight and we couldn’t afford postponing the release (marketing campaigns, business events etc.). We knew commerce-ui had lots of experience in this field, also we liked their designers-first approach and attention to detail.

How many people from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?

SUPER SUPER was responsible for the design part, whereas commerce-ui for development and further deployment. They’ve build it on top of React.js, which allowed for superior website speed.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

Our customer was delighted with the end result of our work, though last few days were tough due to tight time span. Eventually we managed to ship the project on time.

We used Slack and communicated real time, every day. Frequent updates about things that have been done and upcoming tasks to resolve gave us a comfort to be updated at any stage.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

The team was very conscious in terms of design and implementing it. We usually face lots of issues when feedbacking the development, however it wasn't the case here.

For what projects/services did your company hire commerce-ui?

Implementing our corporate website based on design prepared by an agency.

What were your goals for this project?

This activity was a part of a big rebranding project with the goal to strengthen our outreach to border European markets. New name, new logo, new language to describe our service - yet, the fundamentals remained the same. So the key goal was to establish an effective channel of communicating all this.

How did you select this vendor?

We worked together closely on a couple of projects before. The team has experience in implementing high-end designs, working with high-profile design agencies, so it was an excellent fit for us.

Describe the project and the services they provided in detail.

We formed a project team consisting of our internal staff, the selected design agency and commerce-ui guys. After establishing the initial design of the web page, commerces-ui helped to optimise and simplify some of the elements in order to accelerate the development.

After that a coding started initially using React + next.js on the front-end + Wordpress used as a headless CMS (API integration). Deployment was done on Zeit Now. After completion the source code was handover to our internal development team fur future maintenance and improvements. All this worked very well.

What was the team composition?

Marcin, a partner in commerce-ui was our primary touchpoint and a designer. In addition the team consisted of three developers (2 x front-end + 1 x back-end).

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Can you share any information that demonstrates the impact that this project has had on your business?

The results achieved by the project met our expectations. Our website was launched on time, and performance is very good! Instant load and superior mobile experience is something worth highlighting.

How was project management arranged and how effective was it?

We worked under a T&M agreement and followed agile approach. Quick prototyping sessions, frequent feedback and demos. Slack was our primary communication tool, and Jira was a place to assign and describe all tasks. All the tools and environments used by commerce-ui were accessible to all the team members.

Despite the short deadline of the project, commerce-ui managed to ship their work on time. The whole team was transparent and communicative, so it was always very easy to get in touch whenever we needed a timely response to our questions.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

The commerce-ui team has shown integrity and devotion to the project. Looking for, and suggesting relevant and useful UX patterns. They managed to meet technical requirements and deadlines.

Are there any areas for improvement?

It is hard to find big areas for improvements. The project was very challenging with frequent requirements changes and a lot of brainstorming, live prototyping and testing. Overall they did a good job, taking into account all the external factors.
