We were working on building out a complex website and we needed to expedite the build. We hired Cognits to help us complete the project and deliver on time.

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

We needed a team to start right away and they had a fully staffed team ready for us in a little less than 2 weeks. They delivered on time and on budget.

Our project manager was very responsive to us. We had weekly calls where we reviewed progress on the deliverables, but we also were given access to a timeline that was updated daily with progress so we always knew the latest.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

The team was consultative with us. Unlike other outsourcing companies that are more “order takers”, Cognits helped us think through problems ahead of time and proactively helped us get ahead. Their pricing is really reasonable too which helped us manage our budget.

Are there any areas for improvement or something Cognits could have done differently?

They don’t currently work in AEM, but I know they have good partners that can help.

Describe the scope of work in detail. Please include a summary of key deliverables.

Cognits provided front-end UI development based on a pre-designed experience, and delivered integrations of that UI into the Threekit 3D configuration SAAS platform as well as the end clients' ecommerce systems. Across multiple similar projects for various end clients, the work is nuanced and different project to project.

We have appreciated the collaborative nature of the Cognits team, and their ability to navigate unknown obstacles with a solutions-oriented mindset. We'll expect to continue this partnership into the future.

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

Projects were delivered on time, with regular progress reporting including showing in-progress development work which built confidence in the timeline and clarified the path to completion for all stakeholders.

Project to project, we engage in regular meetings - either daily or weekly depending on the project plan - that helped highlight progress and identify gaps. Most valuable was our interface with the development team itself in addition to a project manager.

That mitigated a lot of technical asynchrous back and forth that can create inefficiency in delivery.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

Generally speaking, they are easy to work with, which removes friction in delivery. They asked questions when they need clarity, listened to our feedback, and communicated concerns or obstacles clearly. 

Are there any areas for improvement or something Cognits could have done differently?

While it's impossible to predict all the nuances of a project, we are always encouraging the Cognits team to document assumptions clearly at the outset of a project. The more assumptions we can capture and circulate to stakeholders, the better positioned we are to manage expectations as the work unfolds.

This has never been a significant sticking point, but something that can always be improved upon.

Cognits provided a full creative team to support the redesign and website build effort. Key deliverables included: Complete UX and UI design as Figma prototypes, Content Strategy, SEO recommendations, and complete copywriting for the new brand experience.  Rich media and interactive content with storyboards and animations were provided for multiple product pages.

Project planning was challenging early on, but as stated earlier they were willing to change resources to close the gap and the replacement team member was outstanding and highly skilled at her job.
