Describe the scope of work in detail. Please include a summary of key deliverables.

Coding Duck acted as our end-to-end technical partner. Their work covered product discovery and feature scoping, design and development of the platform, infrastructure setup, and ongoing maintenance. They also handled project management, translating our business needs into technical requirements and coordinating the development team.

- Booking platform: a live web platform where pet owners search for veterinarians, view their availability, and book visits online. It supports both freelance vets and clinics with multiple professionals.
- Veterinarian dashboard: a management area where vets set up their professional profile, services, pricing, and availability slots, and manage incoming appointments.
- Video consultations: remote visits between owners and vets, integrated directly into the booking flow.
- Online payments: instant payment at booking, built on Stripe, with the option for vets to receive payments through their own connected account.
- Quality assurance and support: ongoing bug tracking and fixing, including mobile layout and availability-calendar issues, with structured task lists for the development team.
- Roadmap scoping: discovery and requirements for upcoming features, including home visits (coverage areas, scheduling, travel costs, multi-animal visits), a digital pet health record, and an improved onboarding flow.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

Platform launched and live: VetBook is in production, with the core booking flow validated with real users.

Key features delivered and working: online booking, video consultations, and instant payments are all operational.

Online visibility achieved: the site and the veterinarians’ public profiles are indexed by search engines.

Funding secured: VetBook was awarded funding under Invitalia’s Smart&Start programme, with the working platform supporting the application.

Describe their project management. Did they deliver items on time? How did they respond to your needs?

Coding Duck ran the project in a structured and transparent way. Alek Devetak acted as our project manager and single point of contact, translating our business needs into clear technical requirements for the development team. All project documentation, features, and bugs were tracked in a shared Notion workspace, so we always had visibility on what was in progress and what was coming next. After each meeting we received a written recap with decisions and next steps, which kept everyone aligned. For new features they worked through structured discovery: before building something like home visits, they prepared detailed question sets and ran calls with us to understand the real use cases. This avoided rework and meant features matched how vets actually work. They were responsive to our needs, handling bug reports quickly and adapting the roadmap as our priorities changed.

What was your primary form of communication with Coding Duck s.r.l.?

• In-Person Meeting
• Virtual Meeting
• Email or Messaging App

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

What stood out most was how well Coding Duck understood the business side, not just the technical one. They didn’t simply execute a list of features: they asked the right questions about how veterinarians and pet owners actually behave, and often raised scenarios we hadn’t considered, such as multi-animal home visits or clinics with several professionals sharing a calendar. Their structure is also unusual for a small agency. They cover the whole journey, from product discovery and scoping to development, payments, infrastructure, and SEO, so we never had to coordinate multiple suppliers. Having one project manager who knew the platform in depth made decisions much faster. Finally, they behaved like a partner rather than a vendor. They were genuinely invested in VetBook’s success and supported us beyond development, including feedback on our pitch deck.
