For Phase 2, our focus was getting FINERA ready for actual customer use. FINERA is our accounting and invoicing product, and we already had existing clients who were interested in moving onto the platform. Because of that, the main challenge was not only building the required functionality, but getting the product into a usable and deployable state within a short timeframe. 

CodeNinja used its Hyper AI platform to accelerate the product development cycle and worked with us on the core FINERA workflows, including invoicing, VAT, ZATCA-related processes, payment tracking, and reconciliation. They also handled the AWS cloud deployment so that the product could be rolled out to customers on a proper production environment. The work also covered the multi-tenant setup needed for different customer organizations, user access, and the automation required to reduce repetitive accounting and invoicing steps. For us, the important part was that these pieces came together as one working product rather than being treated as separate technical tasks.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

The clearest outcome was speed to customer adoption. We already had clients lined up, so once FINERA was ready we were able to start moving them onto the platform quickly. Around 20-25 existing customers were moved onto FINERA within days of the rollout. The product was also deployed on AWS, which gave us a more reliable base for operating FINERA and onboarding additional customers. From a business perspective, this was important because the engagement moved FINERA from a product we were still preparing into something we could actually start using with our client base. We also reduced manual effort in a number of day-to-day workflows through the invoicing, VAT, payment-status, and reconciliation automation built into the product.

Timeline was fairly tight because we had customers waiting, so we worked closely with the CodeNinja team and had to make decisions quickly. They were responsive throughout the project and kept the work moving without adding unnecessary process. There was some back-and-forth as a few product requirements became clearer during development, especially around how we wanted certain FINERA workflows to work for our customers. 

The team adapted to those changes and continued to move toward the launch rather than letting the changes create long delays. Communication was straightforward, and when something needed clarification we could discuss it directly with the team and reach a decision. That was useful in a project where the business timeline mattered as much as the technical work.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

What stood out for us was their ability to work against a real commercial deadline. We were not building FINERA as a concept or an internal prototype; we already had customers who needed the product, so getting it into production quickly mattered. Using Hyper AI helped shorten the development cycle, while the same engagement also covered the AWS deployment and the product work needed for the rollout. Having those pieces handled together made the launch easier for us and reduced the coordination we would otherwise have needed across different teams or vendors. They also understood that FINERA had to reflect Saudi accounting and compliance requirements rather than being a generic invoicing application. That combination of product delivery, cloud deployment, and understanding of the operating context was valuable for us.

Are there any areas for improvement or something CodeNinja could have done differently?

Some requirements could have been finalized earlier, which would have reduced a little of the back-and-forth toward the end of the project. Part of that was also because we were moving quickly and refining some decisions as we saw the product take shape. A little more structure around locking the final workflow decisions earlier would have made the last stage smoother. That said, the team was responsive when those changes came up and they did not materially affect the overall rollout.

3. Bank Reconciliation Reliability: Successful and consistent reconciliation of imported bank statements against recorded transactions was established as a measurable indicator of the system's financial accuracy and operational integrity.

4. Multi-Tenant Platform Stability Stable: uninterrupted operation across all tenant organizations with full data isolation and no cross-tenant data leakage was defined as a non-functional success criterion, essential for the viability of the SaaS delivery model.

We also rolled out additional user administration features and access rights to ensure the appropriate information is shared with the appropriate users. 

In addition to system updates, we also rolled out an iniital batch of features to allow fund administrators to support their capital raise using the Impact Index. This functionality provides the back end support to further extend these services.

The Director General of Health Services (DGHS) has the ability to upload the MCC vendor list and the standard medicine list (SML), which outlines the minimum required quantities of each medicine for different types of facilities. This foundational data ensures that all orders adhere to established guidelines. 

District Health Officers (DHOs) enter their medicine budgets into the system and specify the number and types of facilities they want to place orders for. Based on this information, the application generates a suggested order sheet that can be customized by the DHOs. They have the option to select specific vendors or medicines, and they can adjust quantities as needed. Any adjustments that exceed or fall below the SML guidelines require justification, promoting accountability and transparency. Once the order is confirmed, the system generates a digital supply order (SO) that can be printed and manually sent to vendors. Once orders are delivered to the warehouse, storekeepers update the application with a copy of the delivery challan for each order.
