For what projects/services did your company hire Codahead, and what were your goals?

Our app was in place but we always have updates and maintenance so we were looking for someone to help with that on a part-time basis.

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

We were referred to them from colleagues.

We work with a project manager to discuss the needs, PM goes back to team (front-end and back-end on our iOS app), solves issues. We have a very large list of tasks and deliverables that we go through with the team. Slack is used for day-to-day communication with one telephone meeting per week.

How many resources from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?

We have a project manager and about three developers.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

We started part-time but were happy with the work and the developers' abilities so after 6 months we increased to full-time. We have been extremely happy with the speed and quality of work.

Describe their project management style, including communication tools and timeliness.

The entire team is very responsive. Appropriate team members presenting were always on weekly calls. Calls were efficient and clear. Day-to-day communication in Slack. Also clear and easy.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

The COO's communication, care, and availability when needed. PM and dev's efficiency. Ability to learn our code quickly as we are not a typical business so our business model must be learned along with the code.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

Sometimes there is a language barrier but it is so rare it is barely worth mentioning.

What challenge were you trying to address with Codahead?

We were looking for a vendor to partner with us on a WebRTC project. We needed a team to understand the project, do research, and develop software.

What was the scope of their involvement?

They developed a WebRTC engine that was cloud-native. They developed the software and integrated it into the technology aspect of the project, as well.

What is the team composition?

There were 6–8 people. There were 4–5 people who were involved in technology and hands-on work for the project.

How did you come to work with Codahead?

I met them at an exhibition. They presented their capabilities and followed up, which impressed me.

How much have you invested with them?

Our total investment was $100,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We worked together from March 2019 – January 2020.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

We kept track of our review meetings and timelines. There was only one timeline missed, and it was due to us, not them.

How did Codahead perform from a project management standpoint?

We led the project. However, whenever we gave any feedback to the Codahead team they received it positively and worked on any changes required.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Their quality of code and documentation exceeded our expectations. They made it easy for us to take the project to the next level.

Are there any areas they could improve?

We felt they were overpriced on some aspects of the project. There is a difference in currency, as they are offshore. We have asked them to reconsider their pricing before we start our next project.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

If you know what you want to do in a project, they make a great partner. If your requirements aren’t clear, the project may face some challenges as Codahead isn’t a very structured organization.

I'm a mobile app developer working for Langia, an e-commerce, Java, and mobile app development company.

For what projects/services did your company hire Codahead?

We were in the final stages of developing a mobile application for Android. We wanted an iOS version that’s similar to our Android version as possible.

What were your goals for this project?

To be able to offer our new mobile application for both Android and iOS.

SOLUTION

How did you select this vendor?

I had a personal reference.

Describe the project in detail.

We began by sharing our app’s general specification with the developers, then arranged an onboarding session, on-site in Sweden. During that session, we introduced them to the Android version and the backend of the application in greater detail, then discussed how to most efficiently implement the iOS version. They oversaw the development process and included testing of the application on their own initiative.

The development of the app’s foundation began on-site. The rest of the project was completed remotely, with daily discussions regarding status, complications, and suggestions from the developers. A couple of months into the project, it was handed over from one developer to another, without any complications. They did a great job introducing the new developer to the application and the current state of development.

What was the team composition?

There was a project manager, an iOS developer, and a QA.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

Codahead delivered a final product that felt very similar to our Android version, but at the same time staying true to Apple's human interface guidelines. Though the final app contained minor bugs, they addressed them without hesitation. They also did excellent work in explaining the process of releasing new versions of an app to the App Store, including providing documentation for our future reference.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

For the most part, our communication was good. The developers were always quick to give us progress updates and we had daily discussions. They always made sure to run even small details regarding the design or functionality by us.

For workflow management, we introduced a Trello board with some pre-defined tasks. As the development progressed, the developers added tasks based on what they found necessary, making it simple for me to always stay up to speed with the development status.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

They quickly grasped our concept and gaining a clear idea of how they wanted to implement the iOS version. Generally, they had great understanding of our needs as well as solid iOS and Swift development knowledge.

Are there any areas for improvement?

On rare occasions, the developers could be difficult to get in contact with.

One main project manager runs the job and assigns tasks. The same backend developer has completed everything from the start. A few other developers take care of frontend development and design.

Can you share any information that demonstrates the impact that this project has had on your business?

Building my website has been a long process since I continuously add elements based on user feedback and my own vision. Now the software is exactly how I want it. The products they have developed will benefit me greatly. Working with them is great.

How was project management arranged and how effective was it?

My project manager has been with me from the start, which makes it easy to communicate what I want. They attend to every detail and are always available when we need them.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

I appreciate their attention to detail and suggestions about implementing new strategies.

XD Innovation is a Dassault Systèmes reseller of which XDI Cloud for which I am the VP of Cloud Technologies.

I hired Codahead for creating my static website. I had a deadline in early February so they were running against the clock.

What were your goals for this project?

The goal was to explain what the business was intended to do and what products we offer on the cloud in an intuitive manner.

How did you select this vendor?

I met Jacek, their sales guy, at WebSummit and contacted him once I had the project budget. I put out a small RFQ to three companies and Codahead won the bid due to their reactivity and guarantees on delivery schedule.

We needed static pages for each product as well as a contact sheet and a couple of teasers. They were responsible for the design and coding of the website itself. I guided and edited the textual content.

What was the team composition?

The team was Jakub (Codahead architect) with a few in-house developers and myself on the XDI side.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

The site was delivered on time and looked great. That made us quite happy. That being said, later analysis found some of the code to be buggy and this required some postfixing.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

They were fine given the short scope of the project.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

The creative content was great.

Are there any areas for improvement?

The code itself under the covers was unoptimized and I should have had a coder on my end reviewing it day to day.

We aim at building the most robust trading platform available.

How did you select this vendor?

We went through numerous consultants and full-time developers but found that Codahead delivered the flexibility we needed.

The designed, developed, and tested an entire trading platform. This started with normalizing API feeds (market data) and then writing feed handlers and a frontend.

What was the team composition?

Project manager, designer, backend developers, frontend developers, and QA.

Can you share any information that demonstrates the impact that this project has had on your business?

There is no way we could have developed the robust TickPredict platform without the deep bench that Codahead has. We needed short spikes of devops, designs (logos/website), and security.

How was project management arranged and how effective was it?

The project manager was the captain of the ship. Everything went through him and he managed the entire process. He dealt with numerous changes in scope and deliverables, enabling my team to focus on finding product/market fit.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

Codahead's ability to completely integrate with our team was most impressive. From day one, they were our team. There were no cultural or language barriers to speak of.

Keep up the great work. And open an office in Chicago!
