i am the founder of the birmingham youth sports academy that promotes sports, mentoring and education to the youth and the entire community - we have been serving the community for the last 20 years and continue to do so.

we were introduced to Jay by our ambassador Naeem who had worked with him on numerous occasions and only held him in high regards as to the work and effort he does and for charity also to which he carried out effectively and costly beating everyone quotes that were put in front of him.

He carried out all the interviews and pics for the event and set up our youtube channel.

we searched around to get the best quote but ended with Jay who has been outstanding throughout since he came on board and offered his service and went above and beyond seeing the work we do.

we are a charity trying to keep funds down after the few years we have had due to covid-19 and Jay helped massively to accommodate and share our goal which is to believe in the cause and give a little extra to which he did and has helped and shared vital information with us to expand and move forward.

Jay came with his own team and equipment which helps massively knew what he was doing and asked of him and did his job and then delivered days after the vent making sure the videos and pics etc were ready for social media so fast service and turn around in making sure whilst the iron is hot on social media he had all the stuff and material in place to send it over for it to be uploaded.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

well having a successful charity dinner with high profile guests its made memories and set the bar high within our 500 plus guests that attended and enjoyed the event and also to those who didn't attend and now looking to book on for next year so that's a positive outcome over all.

no issues smooth as a whistle they knew what they were doing and asked of them and executed it very well professional set up.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

the help and support really catering and offering there services to try and help us to make life easy both sides so. Their customer service was great and easy to get on with was the best and the price match and service they did for us was amazing couldn't ask for anything more.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

NONE will recommend to anyone and everyone and we hope to partner up with them in order for them to have access to all our events for the future.

I have been at events and seen Jay's work, I was impressed and therefore hired him for this project.

We had a brief chat about what the content needed to include and the importance of a call to action, deciding that the call to action element could be text on the screen at the end of the video. We set up in a room & attempted to get it done in one take.

We worked with Jay, he has a very calm way about him to get the best out of someone who isn't that confident in front of screen.

The video did what it needed to do. I am looking at ideas of video content we could pre-record and just add different dates/times by text at the end of each one so we have video available for differing businesses.

This was a small ad hoc video for a specific event so didn't need all that much planning. Jay was calm in directing me to get the best out of me for the short video.

We hired Cineworkz to complete video production for us.

What was the scope of their involvement?

For this project, Cineworkz produced a video to augment our customer’s social media marketing assets. We completed several interviews over Zoom that Cineworkz then edited together. However, we’ve been working with Cineworkz for a long time. Before the COVID-19 pandemic, they completed several location-based videos for us. That work included storyboarding, shooting, and editing.

We began working with Cineworkz in January 2019 and our partnership is ongoing.

For this project, Cineworkz completely transformed the raw footage from the Zoom interviews we conducted into a high-quality, usable product for our customer. 

How did Cineworkz perform from a project management standpoint?

Jay is reliable and friendly — he works well with our team and our customers. Cineworkz’s project management and quality of work are excellent. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

Jay is extremely knowledgeable, and Cineworkz’s services are great value for the money.

Their video captioning could use some improvement, but they are more focused on the visuals, so we generally handle the copyediting work.

New customers need to clearly define their video brief so Cineworkz can understand what they want to get out of the video project — the more precise the brief, the better the results.

Me and cineworkz would discuss each property and the key features, we would shoot room by room and then external before we carried out the audio videos to describe the house. The video would then be edited within the timeline given with revisions if needed.

I worked with Jay from cineworkz on each project, i have now used Jay for 10 projects and will continue to use going forward, professional, punctual, focused and fully understands the brief and the best way to achieve those goals to build my business.

Each video has been viewed hundreds of times by potential home buyers and are always a talking point when carrying house viewings, by using Jay of Cineworkz this has contributed to the sale of the properties, shared on social media, housing portals and youtube we are reaching more people and achieving better sale prices.

The track was was sent to the company with a description of the type of stock samples I was looking for. I wanted to prove, that with the right expertise stock samples can have a wonderful effect. The company interpreted my description perfectly and with just 6 very minor changes the video was completed.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

The video has not yet been released. It has however, been played to a number of business professionals who have requested Vivid Colour Studios contact details and also permission requested to be played at a wedding ceremony.

Extremely good. No fuss, instructions well interpreted and timescale was more than acceptable. 4 emails in total.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

Their ability to interpret what was required was impressive.

I am not an expert in video production and would not comment as I was given exactly what I asked for, in the time scale agreed and with in budget.

How did you select this vendor?

Vivid are local to us and our paths had crossed previously. We liked Jay and Ben and were confident they could do what we wanted.

We met with Ben and Jay and discussed what we wanted and we brainstormed ideas together and they offered their advice and expertise to help us manage the process, eg how to manage the timetable so that the day ran smoothly. We booked in our clients according to a day we could all do and we notified Ben and Jay. Ben and Jay organised everything technical at their end and advised us to give our clients questions to prepare for.

On the video production day, Ben and Jay arrived early and set up and the production day took place. Post production, Ben and Jay compiled the videos and we were able to offer feedback and tweaks and they amended and sent back to us to check. Final videos were approved and sent over to us digitally.

What was your vendors' project management or feedback process?

They kept us fully informed at all stages and came back to us promptly, even out of hours, with answers to any questions or queries we had. The feedback process was fantastic and nothing was too much trouble. The whole process was stress free and productive.

We haven't yet marketed our website and videos yet but the small sample we have shared with have said how good they are and how much better they are than written testimonials and how seeing the office so professionally is really helpful.

We worked so well together and it felt like they really understood what we wanted. No issues at all. Just positive ones!

What did you find most impressive about this company?

Their level of responsiveness, flexibility and calm working practices. Everything ran smoothly and what could have been stressful was made really enjoyable. They put everyone at ease.

We cannot fault our experience at all with Vivid. So impressed.

I’m an artistic director of a group of choirs called Singing Community Choirs based in North Birmingham. We have five different choirs and a team of conductors in the companies.

What challenge were you trying to address with Vivid Colour Studios?

We wanted to make a promotional video to market our choir. We needed a five or ten-minute video to sum us up, which could be featured on our website and posted on social media such as YouTube.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Vivid Colour Studios produced a promotional video for us. We had a couple of discussion sessions— first on the phone and then in person. Their team attended one of our rehearsals to talk about the video and view the location of the shoot. We informed our members of the initiative and prepared them with questions that they would answer during filming, which Vivid Colour Studios suggested. Then, their team came to our rehearsals to film. They spent the entire four to five-hour evening with us, filming pieces of rehearsals and interviewing choir members. The video involved a mixture of content: half interview style and half showcasing the choir. Their team also integrated excerpts from concerts and competitions that we participated in.

After the shoot, the process took slightly longer than we’d hoped but their team did a really good job in the end. While Vivid Colour Studios edited the video themselves, I went to the studio a couple of times. We had discussions, building the video together. Their team did all of the technical work but welcomed suggestions too. They implemented all the edits or changes we needed—nothing was too much trouble for them.

We worked with two people from Vivid Colour Studios. We collaborated with one person in particular, but two teammates attended the shoot.

How did you come to work with Vivid Colour Studios?

A colleague recommended Vivid Colour Studios. We got in touch and the rest is history.

How much have you invested with them?

We spent about £400 (approximately $497 USD) on the project.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started the project in June 2018, and it ended in July of the same year. From start to finish, the video took about six weeks to make.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We were very impressed with the quality of the video. Everything was impressive. Our team was pleased with the product. It illustrates why people should come and sing with us. It’s a good snapshot of our activities.

All of the filming was done on the same day. Their team lost the picture to some of the shots. There were a couple of frames when a person was speaking but isn’t visible. It works because they overlaid other pictures. It was a shame because you couldn’t see the people talking.

Having said that, the video was very good and professional. The quality of the product was excellent. I’m sure we’ll collaborate with Vivid Colour Studios again. Some members who were featured in the videos have moved on, so we’ll have to shoot a new video.

How did Vivid Colour Studios perform from a project management standpoint?

It was a collaborative process; Vivid Colour Studios made sure the video was correct before it was published. Their team was very approachable.

Vivid Colour Studios communicated well and responded by e-mail quickly. Most deadlines were met. In terms of meetings and the day we filmed, their team was on time. After filming, the editing process took a few weeks to finish. It could’ve been completed sooner because we didn’t get the finished product until the end of the summer term.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They’re a great team that clearly enjoys what they do. Vivid Colour Studios was keen to come and promote the video, which they’ve posted on their social media pages. It’s helped us and them too hopefully. We would certainly partner with them again.

Are there any areas they could improve?

Besides scheduling and losing a bit of footage, no. We were very happy with the finished product.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

This is more from a planning point of view: have a good idea of who you want to speak and what questions you wanted answered. We made those decisions before and gave members questions the week before the shoot, which made filming more efficient. This was a plan Vivid Colour Studios suggested. Talk with their team before the day of the shoot so you have a clear idea of what you want.
