What challenge were you trying to address with DCV – Digital Creative Visionaries?

We are the largest volunteer group within our organization, but we didn’t have the visibility that we deserved. Our goal was to bring more awareness to all of the impactful programs that we have internally and externally. In our opinion, the best way to gain exposure was to create an engaging audiovisual experience.

What was the scope of their involvement?

DCV – Digital Creative Visionaries helped us make a promotional video that showcased our volunteer group and its purpose in a new light. Our team was responsible for creating a narrative for the video, but DCV was in charge of writing the actual script.

Once the story was finalized, they began filming content for the video. Post-production was the final stage, where they edited several different versions for us to choose from.

We only interacted with two people within their organization, but I’m sure they had more people working in the background.

They were recommended to us by a colleague who had done some work with them in the past. We did some research online before getting in touch with them.

One of the first things that we noticed in our initial meeting was that their positive energy. This, coupled with their transparency and conciseness, influenced our hiring decision.

The project was in the range of $30,000 or so.

Our initial conversations started in March 2019, and they were finished with the project by June 2019.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

DCV – Digital Creative Visionaries was everything that we hoped for in a partner. They helped us narrow our focus and create a message that was engaging and to-the-point. When we shared the video with people within our institution and our network, the response was overwhelmingly positive. Many people became eager to learn more about our group after watching the clip.

The moment we shared the video with a broader audience, our membership base increased by 10 percent. We've also secured meeting and events with high-level executives within our organization. Our goal was to raise awareness, and DCV helped us achieve that. From a quality perspective, they exceeded our expectations.

How did DCV – Digital Creative Visionaries perform from a project management standpoint?

They managed to complete the video within three months, which was incredible. Their punctuality, coupled with their streamlined procedures, made the entire engagement effortless. When our team had trouble focusing on the message, they scheduled a lot of meetings and phone calls to reconcile our issues.

What did you find most impressive about them?

DCV has an infectious energy that carries over into every aspect of their business. Their ability to connect with us on a personal allowed them to deliver high-quality content that met our specific needs. We look forward to working with them again.

I’m a director and producer at VIVA Creative. We are a digital marketing and live events agency. We do global projects for brands and other associations.

What challenge were you trying to address with Digital Creative Visionaries (DCV)?

We hired them as our production partner for a series of television commercials for one of our clients.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

They helped us film 18 television commercials in four days. We needed a robust and talented team to help us shoot these commercials. We also had to work at a very aggressive pace in order to get them done in the timeline that we needed.

We used a wide assortment of filming tools, such as jib, gimbals, and dolly track.

What is the team composition?

We worked with their two founders and had a crew of eight people.

How did you come to work with DCV?

I knew Shane (CEO, DCV), from prior engagements and I saw their work being shared on social media. I hadn’t spoken to them in a while, so I reached out to them based on their commercially appealing work; I definitely wanted to replicate that success for my own project.       

How much have you invested with them?

I’ve invested approximately $25,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We began working together in April 2019, and our project wrapped up in May 2019.

We haven’t had a new project since then, but we hope to do more projects with them in the future.

Our client was very happy with the professionalism of their crew.

DCV always brings really interesting ideas and techniques to the table. They were willing to improve on the experience to ensure that our product was going to meet expectations, which I found helpful.

We were very pleased with their project management skills.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Their team was very enthusiastic and had a great attitude. They had great collaboration skills and were very easy to work with.

I'm the senior videographer at the National Restaurant Association.

What challenge were you trying to address with DC Visionaries?

We had a need for additional support on video projects that were too large for our in-house to manage alone.

What was the scope of their involvement?

DC Visionaries provides video production support on projects as needed, which involves creative direction planning, scripting, and conceptualizing as well as providing camera operators, post-production editing, and sometimes animation. 

What is the team composition? 

In addition to Shane (CEO, DC Visionaries) and Celene (COO, DC Visionaries), we've worked with as few as one camera operator to as many as 10 people from their team on any given project.

How did you come to work with DC Visionaries?

We were looking for experienced individuals with a demonstrated ability to produce high-quality work, so a colleague recommended them and we reviewed their demo reel. After giving them a small project, we were happy with their work and kept going back to them for more projects.

How much have you invested with them?

We spend around $70,000–$80,000 a year on their services. 

What is the status of this engagement?

The first project we worked with them on was probably in 2015 and the relationship is ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We're so happy with their work that we keep going back to them for more; they've now worked on several different projects for different departments within our organization over the years. The videos they've produced have helped garner many thousands of views. 

How did DC Visionaries perform from a project management standpoint?

We have a very good working relationship with them at this point. They've always been able to deliver on project requirements and provided great results, following direction with ease and bringing a lot of good ideas to the table in the process.

For large-scale projects, they usually come to our office for meetings, but they're also easy to reach by phone or email whenever we need anything.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Shane and Celene are very creative, talented, and enthusiastic. They've helped take a lot of our work to the next level by bringing new ideas and creative solutions to the table. 

Are there any areas they could improve?

As a smaller organization, they're still experiencing some growing pains they can work on as they bring in bigger clients. They've had a few minor hiccups when it comes to managing projects smoothly.

Be open to the creative process. DC Visionaries may be able to come up with different ideas that are worth trying out to help break the mold.

Shane (CEO, DCV) and his team helped us shoot promotional material for an annual gala, as well as an all-day event for an Auto Makers Association event. The team also helped us find qualified staff for a high-profile project. They bring devices, such as remote-controlled dolly sliders, that have been integral to some of our shoots.

Although they are a smaller company, they’ve always gotten back to me within an acceptable time frame. They are more than willing to do exactly what you want, whenever you want.

I look at them and see people who truly love what they do. Whatever time they don’t spend working they use to perfect and hone their craft.
