Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m the director of marketing for the EMEA region at 5.11 Tactical. We’re a global company with headquarters in California, and the EMEA offices are located in Sweden. We design, manufacture, and sell tactical gear. We started selling to the law enforcement community but expanded to all first responders and the retail market.

What challenge were you trying to address with CHUKSTER Creative Studio?

We needed assistance with branding and graphic design for our social media channels.

What was the scope of their involvement?

We’ve worked on different projects with CHUKSTER Creative Studio throughout our engagement. Initially, they designed our brand identity.

Moreover, CHUKSTER Creative Studio has assisted us with graphic design, including work catalog designs and social media assets. They also manage our social media content strategy and community management on Facebook and Instagram.

Some of the tools CHUKSTER Creative Studio has used are Sprout Social for social media management and graphic design. They’ve used the Adobe Creative Cloud suite, including Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, and Adobe XD.

What is the team composition?

We initially started working with Rebecca (Creative Director). Steven (Owner & Creative Director) used to work with us as a graphic designer, but he then started working for CHUKSTER Creative Studio since he lives in Copenhagen and we’re located in Malmoe.

CHUKSTER Creative Studio has recently hired two other graphic designers.

How did you come to work with CHUKSTER Creative Studio?

Steven started working at our company about eight years ago. We contacted him through a referral from our sales team.  

How much have you invested with them?

We invest around €17,000 (approximately $18,000 USD) monthly with CHUKSTER Creative Studio. We pay a slightly higher fee if we need to make any additional changes.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working with CHUKSTER Creative Studio around seven years ago, and Steven changed companies in 2020. Our partnership is ongoing; however, we’re downsizing our team since we hired an in-house designer to help us with urgent assets. 

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

CHUKSTER Creative Studio has helped us build our social media from zero. We now have 216,000 followers on Instagram. We have only two years since we started selling to direct consumers through e-commerce, so we don’t have many conversion rate metrics yet.

We’ve also just started selling to all countries in EU, and CHUKSTER Creative Studio has contributed hugely to our brand awareness.

How did CHUKSTER Creative Studio perform from a project management standpoint?

We treat CHUKSTER Creative Studio as part of our team. They’re present at our important meetings and have a tactical email that gives them access to our systems. 

We use Asana for project management and Adobe Workfront Proof (formerly known as ProofHQ) to approve designs. We also communicate through email, WhatsApp, and Microsoft Teams many times throughout the day. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

I’m most impressed with CHUKSTER Creative Studio's design skills. They don’t only create what you ask them to, but they also understand how to strategize and think about all the different aspects of a marketing campaign, including the target audience and marketing messages.

Are there any areas they could improve?

With them being perfectionists and wanting to always over-deliver, sometimes you need to tell them that what they have delivered is all what is needed for that specific task, it's good enough.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Don’t think about CHUKSTER Creative Studio as just a design firm. They can help you grow your brand because they think about all the aspects involved in a marketing campaign, including getting the right message and speaking to your community. If you let CHUKSTER Creative Studio help you, they will give you much more than other design firms.
