I am the managing director of Walsall Alliance, a GP federation working in primary care within the British NHS.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What challenge were you trying to address with Centricweb?

We wanted to develop an easy-to-use app for clinicians, using COPD guidelines developed by consultants. We were utilizing an application system to publish the guidelines in an accessible format.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

They developed a cross-platform app for iOS and Android. We gave them the clinical pathways and they took care of everything, including designing the wireframes and layouts. The whole interface and design is very intuitive, and it works quite well.

What is the team composition?

The owner of the company was our main contact.

How did you come to work with Centricweb?

I met and chatted with their director at an event. He seemed very knowledgeable. He sent me some information about their previous work, and we commissioned them to work on this project.

How much have you invested in them?

We spent around £5,000 ($6,864 USD).

What is the status of this engagement?

We worked with them from February 2017 to October 2017.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We have received very positive feedback from clinicians. General practitioners aren’t very IT savvy, so it’s great for them to tell us that the app is well-designed and intuitive.

How did Centricweb perform from a project management standpoint?

They did very well with project management. They delivered everything on time. We had some delays on our side, but they were accommodating when we had to change a few things.

We mostly communicated through email and phone, but we also had face-to-face meetings with them.

What did you find most impressive about them?

I was impressed with their flexibility, adaptability, and ability to accommodate at short notice. Their adaptability with timelines was also helpful.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Be clear about what you want at the beginning. Having a session beforehand is a good way to do that.

I’m the clinical director of hematology and oncology at a hospital.

What challenge were you trying to address with Centricweb?

We needed a tool for general doctors and specialists to know exactly what investigations were needed for patients coming in with hematological problems before they reach the hematology department.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

They designed and developed a mobile application for iOS and Android using Java. The hematologists provided a flow chart and Centricweb built it into the app. Depending on the abnormality of the blood sample, doctors can click on it, go through different paths, and request various investigations.

What is the team composition?

I only worked with their managing director.

How did you come to work with Centricweb?

I heard about their previous work and decided to engage with them.

How much have you invested with them?

We have invested £2,000 (US$2,781).

What is the status of this engagement?

We worked with them from January 2016–January 2017.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

All comments about the app have been very positive. We’re thinking about working with them again for another application.

How did Centricweb perform from a project management standpoint?

They were very good in this aspect, following timelines and executing tasks appropriately. We communicated via phone and email and had occasional meetings.

Are there any areas they could improve?

They did what we asked of them very well.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

I would definitely recommend them for developing any similar app for other specialists. They can help clinicians and patients get the right outcome.
