I serve as the project manager for a $1M+ project designed to help one of our clients digitalize their in-person learning to elearning and videos that can then be more broadly distributed and have a consistency in the messaging to learners

Ian fills a wonderful niche for our global client base as the client team typically wants some diversity in the range of pro talent represented across deliverables

Our team produces narration scripts for up to 5 minutes of animated video or up to 20 minutes of eLearning coursework and provides this for client approval before we proceed with professional voice talent. Edited final professional voice talent files are then inserted into either video or eLearning deliverables and synced to the animation before being sent to the client for final approval

General client feedback is very positive - the client loves Ian's range range and tone in support of our eLearning and video development

Ian partners with us closely to work within Jira using templated scripts that denote file naming conventions and specified tone, speed, energy, etc. Ian joins us for recording sessions and then sends over labeled mp3 files for our audio engineering team to work from

Ian is very friendly and personable, highly responsive, and has always delivered what's been asked of him on time.

Our company develops e-learning and training videos for our clients. We needed a company that could provide us with voiceover services.

My colleague discovered Ian on a voice talent website. We reached out to Ian to see if he would be willing to work with us on a very large project for a client, and we’ve been working with him since then.

We worked together from August 2021–January 2022.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We don’t have any quantitative data for this engagement, but the fact that our clients continue to request The British Voice LLC from our talent pool is a good indicator of this project’s success. We also really enjoyed working with them, so we continue to recommend them to our clients for upcoming projects.

How did The British Voice LLC perform from a project management standpoint?

The British Voice LLC has performed exceptionally well in terms of project management. They were very flexible — they were always willing to work with us on short notice if we needed to pick up or something needed to be rerecorded. They were highly responsive, had great availability, and always showed up for sessions well-prepared and on time.

We typically communicated through email, and we used Smartsheet and Jira for project management.

What did you find most impressive about them?

We were most impressed with the quality of The British Voice LLC’s voiceover services. They required very little direction or coaching on our end, which made all of our sessions go smoothly.

We were also awed with how knowledgeable they were in the industry — they were able to provide us with some guidance around the rates for various types of recordings and how the industry views those types of voiceover recordings differently from each other. Overall, it was a fantastic experience with The British Voice LLC.

Are there any areas they could improve?

No, we have no complaints. We love working with them.

Make sure to be consistent and to provide them with as much direction and information upfront as possible.

We searched online and invited voice over artist and companies to submit auditions, conducted interviews, and made our selection after review with our stakeholders.

We discussed the project scope, timeline, and voice over needs together. We determined the best workflow to achieve our goals and continued to have meetings throughout the project to maintain a high standard product deliverable.

Ian was our main contact and he managed several other voice over artists and sound technicians.

All shareholders were extremely happy with the quality of service and deliverable.

Ian and his team are very communicative. Very easy to get in touch with and forthcoming with information and suggestions to improve the production of voice over. We never had an issue with schedule or quality.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

One of the most impressive things about the team was the quality and easy service. I never had to worry or chase down any milestone. I knew that once I handed the request to Ian that it would be done up to standard, or better, and would be ready on time.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

None that I can think of.

Tim Plowden is a wildlife conservation filmmaker based in Singapore specialising in the wildlife trade and urban wildlife coexistence in Asia. Tim works on assignment for NGOs and media outlets on conservation causes for a wide range of endangered species.

For what projects/services did your company hire The British Voice LLC, and what were your goals?

We hired Ian of The British Voice LLC for the narration of wildlife conservation films. Our goals were to raise awareness and funds for wildlife conservation causes. The films were screened at fundraising galas and as digital campaigns on social media.

SOLUTION

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

I searched for professional voice over artists on Upwork and carefully selected a shortlist of vendors. I requested a demo based on a short script I provided. The demo by Ian of The British Voice LLC was by far the best in terms of the tone of voice and emotional delivery needed for the subject matter and audience. On a technical note, the audio quality of Ian's demo was of a very high quality too.

Describe the video(s) and the process in detail, including the project steps and all stages of production.

We start with a call to discuss the brief. I provide Ian with the final script and he records the first read through. I review the first take and provide feedback. Any minor changes are provided by Ian. We now do live recordings where I can provide instant feedback via videoconference.

Who did you work with and what was the feedback process like?

I work directly with Ian. The feedback process is superlative. Ian's live recording sessions provide an excellent experience as a customer, not just seeing the professional voice artist at work but also being able to test variations in the reading.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

My NGO clients have all been very impressed when they hear the quality of Ian's voiceover on the final video. Our latest collaboration for my independent wildlife film has so far won 5 film awards and been selected for 14 film festivals around the world. This is thanks in large part to the narration by Ian.

Ian is an excellent communicator. They always deliver on time, exceed quality expectations, and are dedicated professionals. He keeps up-to-date with communication tools.

Ian is a creative professional with an impressive work ethic and dedication to his art. Totally reliable and when I write a script it his voice I have in mind.

We needed a South African militant voice for our Payday 2.

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

Initially we enjoyed the performance. When we continued to work with the character, Ian helped us finetune him over the years. Talent mixed with a stroke of luck.

Payday 2 is a videogame where players perform heists together. Ian's character helps the players figuring out what to do during gameplay.

Well, it's only Ian. So, 1.

I believe his character helped a lot for the games continued success. Taking over for other lead characters.

Always transparency and quick turnarounds. We never had any issues.

There's never really been any friction with the process or performance. Understanding a character so well, I don't need to help out during sessions.
