Brand Salt needs to create and optimize our listing based on our type of item and competitors. Brand Salt also manages all our Ads and PPC and customer follow up management. They monitor the levels of our spending and how it pertains to our sales to be able to utilize our Ad exposure properly.

Steve setup a Zoom call with me and listened to all my needs to better understand the project and immediately was able to form an actionable strategy ready for deployment. I had immediate success as I was able to sell off all my merchandise that was sitting for a year within two months of Brand Salt Marketing's consultation.

I'm the co-owner of Coaching FBA, which is a holding company based in Canada. We primarily coach people on how to sell online, but we have our own brands as well. We also have an agency where we help investors launch their products online.

We needed help with everything related to SEO. Primarily, we needed someone to provide descriptions of our products using specific keywords.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Brand Salt Marketing handles everything related to copywriting. First, our internal team works on product development, R&D, and product acquisition. We then provide the Brand Salt Marketing team images, specifications, dimensions, colors, and so on. Using that information, they write the story of each product, making sure to appeal to customers. They also conduct keyword research to optimize the product descriptions. Most of their research is based on Amazon SEO because most of our products are listed there. After they send us their work, we upload the content to the Seller Central on Amazon, Walmart, and other platforms.

We primarily work with two teammates, Steven (Amazon Expert) and Golda (Marketing Copywriter).

We have many contractors we hire regularly. My partner knew Steven from previous projects, so he contacted them. We hired them because they were readily available, which was essential to us.

We started working together in August 2019, and it’s still an ongoing partnership. Our contract has a minimum of two years.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

My employees and I are not that fluent in English, so I don’t have any in-house writers and editors. The expertise that Brand Salt Marketing provides is valuable. I can’t say how much of our growth was driven by their work, but our collaboration has been good so far.

How did Brand Salt Marketing perform from a project management standpoint?

The team has met all deadlines we set, which is good. Things change so fast in the business world, so I appreciate how quickly they deliver their work. For example, if we start a project on Monday, they’ll have the first draft by Friday. We work with freight forwarders, photographers, inspectors — we don't want to wait weeks for the content, and Brand Salt Marketing has been great about that. They’re also very autonomous; we don’t have to discuss the product too much for them to start.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Their biggest strength is the quick delivery time. The team is good at conducting keyword research, as well. The keywords are always really relevant to the product, so that's great.

Are there any areas they could improve?

They could sound less serious in the content they produce. We want to send a joyful vibe to our customers, so we want the listings to have more humor.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Make sure they have expertise in the platform you’re using before working with them. If you need an expert in product descriptions and keyword research for Amazon, we recommend them.

I’m the COO and general manager of a female-oriented natural herbal relief company. We sell herbal products that are designed to speak to the synergetic interconnectivity of the female pelvic region.

We’re a product-based company, so we were trying to get our product on Amazon and sell it through there. I tried to do all this work by myself for six months because I thought it was something I could deal with, but it was too confusing. I had no idea how to deal with the PPC, and that’s when I was introduced to Brand Salt Marketing.

What was the scope of their involvement?

They immediately stepped in and brought a product with variations and optimized our listings. They explained everything to us because we were novices in terms of our Amazon experience and, to this day, they’re handling everything on our Amazon account. 

They create the listings and give advice on optimizing product photos. Additionally, they take care of any errors we could have on shipping, and they remind our shipper in the US to get new products to the Amazon warehouse.

They also provide reports to us regarding our sales and campaigns. Additionally, they provide keyword research, but mostly, they’re in charge of advertising — that’s what generates sales.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We started at zero sales because we were a new product. After three months working with them, our numbers are now up to 200 monthly sales. We have a complex product, and they were able to reach our target audience despite that.

How did Brand Salt Marketing perform from a project management standpoint?

We communicate through WhatsApp in a group chat with their team. I can message them whenever we need something. We also have weekly meetings where we optimize our site based on the insights of our business.

What did you find most impressive about them?

It’s crazy how professional and on top of things they are communications-wise. They respond almost immediately, and they’re consistently available to answer calls. They also walk us through everything, showing us what they do and how they do it. Nothing’s a secret because they keep us involved with our business.

Are there any areas they could improve?

I don’t think there’s something they can improve.

Any advice for potential customers?

I recommend they know their audience and be prepared with the initial elements of the products; work’s faster if they give Brand Salt Marketing all of the supplies. Also, it’s always helpful to do research before the engagement in order to understand what they’re talking about when they explain the advertising campaigns.

The last two handle everything that needs to be done with the content on the backend. There’s also Josh (PPC Management), but we don’t have direct contact with him — we reach out to Steve for that, too.

I found them in Jungle Scout’s marketplace last year. Their listing was appealing to us, so we reached out to them. They offered PPC account management and optimization.

In the end, we decided on working with another provider first, and we hired them for three months at the end of last year. We were happy with the other provider, but the issue was that they only offered PPC management, and we wanted a team. At that time, I received an email where Brand Salt was featured as the freelancer of the week, and that reminded me of their more robust services.

Our initial conversations with Brand Salt Marketing were thorough and explicit about the process and what we could expect. They took a look at our account and pointed out particulars where they saw room for improvement — that was when we knew they were paying attention and responding specifically to us rather than giving just a generic response. As far as results, they’ve been fantastic. The team is greatly experienced, and our sales increased substantially from the moment we hired them. It’s been a great ongoing relationship.

How did Brand Salt Marketing perform from a project management standpoint?

Everything’s smooth. Anytime we have an issue, we can reach out and get immediate response. We do monthly meetings to go over our plans, product launches, and the future of our business. Usually, we communicate through video chat, email, and text threads. We have one text thread with Steve and another one with the entire group.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Their most redeemable quality of their team is that they take responsibility for their errors — I love that in a partner! It’s important to focus on solving the problem rather than making excuses. They do a good job in everything that we request. I’ve had a couple of things that I didn’t know how to deal with, like policy violations, and they fixed that for me immediately; that would’ve been a challenge for me in the past.

They know the ins and outs of how to fix things and keep our accounts cleaned up. Sometimes our competitors mess with our account and listings for no reason, and I’m impressed with how Brand Salt has rewritten those listings; they look much better now.

Are there any areas they could improve?

I think Brand Salt needs to improve on their PPC reporting. I’ve told them that I couldn’t care less about the reports because I don’t know how to interpret them. They try to explain the process to me, and I appreciate them trying to give me the knowledge, but I’m happy as long as the sales are good. I think they said they needed to improve on that but, in the end, this doesn’t affect me one way or another.

Any advice for potential customers?

It’s good to have a list of objectives because they need to know the business. You know your business better than any stranger would. It’s also important to be organized and know what the scope of the project is going to be, rather than just telling them to fix your company without establishing the goals and objectives of onboarding them. That way, you’re on the same page from the start.

They’ve been excellent in their project management. We communicate with them through emails and WhatsApp. They follow up on their work and are constantly improving. They’re always looking at metrics and what needs to be adjusted so they can work accordingly.
