One of our U.S.-based clients needed a visualization tool developed from scratch. They had evaluated a lot of other tools available in the market, but they wanted to build something on their own.

What was the scope of their involvement?
They developed and designed the visualization tool, which consisted of all the charts for analytical solutions. I gave them the business requirements and they built the solution in Java. It had a multi-payment feature which would allow clients to assign the reports or the dashboards based on their organizational hierarchy.
The vice president of sales wanted to evaluate the personas of the sales reps working under him and then he would be able to see the performance of all the team members. The individual salesperson would be able to see the business analysis for the region he’s responsible for. There’s an export functionality and sharing of the dashboards and KPIs with other users in the system.

I was coordinating with their manager. He oversaw a team of 10 people, including UI designers and other designers, developers, and testers.

They did an excellent job building a tool according to our requirements. They were very professional in their approach, understanding my requirements and providing lots of ideas. They came up with 30% of the solutions on their side. The final outcome of the engagement included additional features that they had suggested. My client was extremely happy.
They took a very detail-oriented approach. I didn’t have any major issues during my unit testing because they had already shared all the user cases, the case scenarios, the case results with me when they delivered them to my team for testing. The user testing of the tool went extremely smoothly. When I delivered it to clients, there were absolutely no issues when they tested the product.

We used to evaluate the project status weekly with the project manager, the technical lead, and the entire team on the call. They were always up to date before the scheduled call. There were no delays from their side, and the entire project was completed within the time frame. Everything was well-managed. I monitored the entire process on a weekly basis.
The CEO is extremely approachable. Whenever I had any particular request, he was always there to help me out and talk to his team. They sometimes worked more than 14-15 hours per day just to meet deadlines.

We’re now in the development phase, putting in all together. The product is cross-platform. We have a patient-facing mobile app that is native for iOS and Android, a doctor web portal, and a marketing website for customers to visit and for existing users to log into. Their team provides full-stack development on the web side. The fourth aspect of our project is a master-admin portal that allows us to control doctor and patient information for our end, along with managing subscriptions.

This is an improvement point for side; these projects require a lot of collaboration. For the most part, we communicate weekly, if not daily. We use Skype, which has been great overall.
What did you find most impressive about them?
Along with their extensive portfolio, I appreciate their willingness to work with our team. We’re building a healthcare platform, and their company has made a lot of great products in this space. They have the experience, which includes being quite knowledgeable about HIPPAA compliance. Brainvire Infotech Inc’s experience building products for the US market was a big checkmark for them.
Are there any areas they could improve?
Since we’re not on the same schedule, the time difference can slow down work. It’s expected when working with offshore companies. In the early stages of our development, I spent three weeks working nights, but their team wasn’t available to answer questions. They have other clients, lives of their own, and located on the other side of the world. This isn’t something that they can improve on, but it is a challenge for a business based in the US.

Clients need to be prompt and flexible. Brainvire Infotech Inc has a team that will travel to clients’ locations to make sure everything’s good, but people working with them have to be willing to have all-nighters or work night shifts, even if just on a temporary basis.

Our app has an individual side and commercial side. Customers using the app can log-on and see a gallery of pictures. We make it simple for users to send a gift card that comes inside a gift box that runs with a timer. Users can’t see what’s inside until the timer is up. They can also see the countdown timer in their inboxes. We also work with franchisees and corporations where our team builds out templates for their email ads.

We’re a lab investment manufacturing and distribution company with offices in India and now in the US. I’m the CEO of the US office.

We are expanding our presence in the Western market. Because of this, we decided to approach Brainvire Infotech Inc to develop our online e-commerce platform for sale in those markets.
SOLUTION
What was the scope of their involvement?
There were various aspects to the project. We started with the UX/UI design before moving into the core development using WordPress. There were a few complex features needed that had to go through HTML and CSS. They created a landing page with a rotating carousel that showcases different products, events, and awards we’ve received. This dynamic aspect is to attract users to the promotions and products we offer.
They built a product and category page that is pretty standard. We have product cards listed with a summary of reviews, the actual review, and ratings for each product. Users can choose what they want to purchase and search within that product category. With the search functionality, users can find the items they’re looking for and explore the relevant product categories. We also have a product detail page where users can zoom in when they hover over the image. Users can see the features, and then at the bottom of the page, find multiple tabs with specifications and instruction manuals. Users can view and leave reviews, which are reflected instantaneously on the platform.
There are payment processing and checkout functionalities as well. Once users add products to their cart, they can view, apply for promotions, and provide their addresses and payment information. Stripe was used for that integration, and at the time, the order is placed, and users receive a confirmation email. Once the product is shipped, they receive another email with tracking information. Any time, users can chat with a customer service representative through the Zoho chat function.
With the blog, we can add articles with images and promotions. We write about the products and link them within the articles. Users can read the blog post and then view the referenced product. The same blog posts are used for our email marketing campaigns. All of this is also optimized for mobile with the same functionalities in a different UI.
What is the team composition?
During the project, I’ve been assigned a project manager and technical lead. We have someone in charge of web and mobile optimization, and a person who focuses on SEO and social media marketing that works independently of the team. There were between five or six developers that worked on the project during its lifecycle. There are WordPress developers, developers in charge of the payment and live chat integrations, and a few blogging experts.

For the most part, we communicate at least once a week. I talk with both the project manager and technical lead through email but mainly work with the project manager. The technical lead is always in the know about what’s going on and what needs attention at any point in time. We meet with the project manager and any relevant developers for that week. I share any concerns and changes, or any iteration I want them to execute. The scheduled meetings and consistent communication kept our teams on track. Their team was able to hear our thoughts and feedback weekly as opposed to waiting a longer period.
We used Skype and used screen sharing to share current developments. They used Jira a little to hear my comments on any changes they’re making, and then we also had Excel sheets to track progress. Any changes or recommendations I had were listed in the sheet, and I could follow what was done, scheduled, or in progress. They may have been using other tools internally, but I was satisfied with the sufficiency of the Excel sheet because it kept me up to date.
What did you find most impressive about them?
I appreciated their communication and project management style. It differentiated Brainvire Infotech Inc from other similar providers. They excel in managing the product and their team, delivering high-quality results on time.
Are there any areas they could improve?

Brainvire Infotech is designing and developing our application from scratch. We didn’t provide any documentation or sketches to their team, and they’ve completed all of the initial design work.
The team guided us through the payment gateway feature and showed us how the payment process would flow. They’ve also designed a digital wallet within the app that will let users manage payments. Brainvire Infotech is still working on the UI for the app, and it will eventually be available for download on iOS and Android devices.

We typically communicate through email, WhatsApp, and Google Hangouts. Brainvire Infotech is very proactive and will follow up with a call or a text whenever we are late with our feedback. I appreciate their dedication to expediting the project. I can tell that they are enthusiastic about their work.

I’ve been impressed by their responsiveness. They’re never too busy for me and will always free up time when I need to get ahold of them. We’ve also benefitted from their experience working with other companies in Kuwait.

So far, they’ve been an ideal partner. Nothing sticks out at the moment.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
Make sure that you know what you want before you reach out to Brainvire Infotech. Having a broad scope or adding new requirements after each milestone will make the project difficult for both parties.

The total project is budgeted at $50,000, but I'm not sure how much has been spent yet. They submit invoices for hours worked every couple weeks.

We've been working with them since January 2019 and, although the site just went live in May, we continue to work with them to develop more features.

Brainvire has done an excellent job of understanding and executing our requirements. They ask the right questions before getting started on any phase of work, so it's always done by the next day. Other overseas vendors seem to experience more delays, waiting to ask questions after they get started on the work.
How did Brainvire Infotech Inc. perform from a project management standpoint?
They're highly collaborative and relatively quick to turn around deliverables. We mostly communicate through Skype and track progress in Jira.
What did you find most impressive about them?
I'm very impressed they've been able to meet with us in person and show us some solid examples of different solutions from the start of the engagement. They've also been great at communicating and providing results.

Nothing yet.

Define project specifications as clearly as possible and meet with their team to flesh out requirements. I'd also suggest submitting questions to their team, because they're good about thoroughly responding to any uncertainties line by line.

Brainvire Infotech Inc helped us work with a third-party vendor. Using a PHP framework, they focused on extending an existing single sign-on implementation and secure payment processing for a financial portal. They implemented OpenSSL to manage the single sign-on and exchange of data.

I mainly worked with one full-time developer. Other resources were brought in for specific tasks as needed.

From my perspective, the quality of their work was extremely high. The biggest challenges in the project were working together with both the client as well as the third-party vendor. The vendor’s mobility was limited, and their transparency and cooperation was questionable. Brainvire Infotech Inc was able to work through those issues alongside me.
How did Brainvire Infotech Inc perform from a project management standpoint?
We prepared quite a bit before the project started. We talked about how we'd use Jira so there were no issues in project management. It was a very organic project. Brainvire Infotech Inc did a good job handling the frequent requirement changes. I worked directly with their developer, which worked well. Given the differences in time zone (the client was in Florida and Brainvire Infotech Inc is in India), they were extremely cooperative. They were willing to be available in the middle of night in order to accommodate the project.
What did you find most impressive about them?
Brainvire Infotech Inc’s quality of work, availability, and level of effort were all excellent. More than anything, we appreciated their ability to dedicate a resource with a targeted skill set to our project. The developer didn't simply have the skill set on paper but was competent and communicated well.
Are there any areas they could improve?
There’s nothing I can say based on this project’s specific technical requirements. I can't speak to a larger enterprise project, but I can't get knock them for anything.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
This isn’t specific to Brainvire Infotech Inc, but the biggest challenge is expectation management. Take the time to flesh out the goal of your project, budget, timeline, and functional requirements before work begins.

They also worked on our website and web-based products, updating them to meet our goals and expectations. They even built SQL databases that interact with some of the products we offer. Currently, they’re building a payment gateway that allows people to sign up for our services and pay for the membership with a credit card or PayPal.
