How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

We made calls with some companies that specialize in DevOps and based on the results of comparisons, we have chosen the boredDevOps team. Deciding factors were: good management and in-depth specialization in modern technologies.

Describe the project in detail and walk through the stages of the project.

- Kubernetes cluster setup. The solution for our system is based on building a Kubernetes cluster on the servers. Kubernetes was installed to manage the load at any time to provide enough capacity for our users. It enabled our IT infrastructure to scale automatically. Kubernetes reserves the copies of the infrastructure for its fast recovery on other servers at the time of the malfunction. Therefore, reduces downtime thanks to an automatic reaction. - Logging and Monitoring. The Prometheus formed a proactive monitoring solution that helped our team stay on top of any upcoming malicious events. - Audit of the cluster. The security engineering team performed an audit to reinforce the security measured in the IT infrastructure. The result of the audit was documented recommendations for additional security measures implemented.

Calls were made every week via Google Meet to discuss new and completed tasks. Obtaining the statuses of further actions for working with future services that will be connected to the project

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

They are always in touch and respond to all our requests. The most impressive is how they managed to meet all the requirements and give us recommendations during the infrastructure audit.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

At times there were some misunderstandings in terms of the priority of tasks, but this point was resolved in the shortest possible time.

We were searching for DevOps expertise to migrate to Kubernetes. boredDevOps was hired for building Kubernetes architecture and migration, also, configuration of CI/CD and launch of multiple application e.g. WordPress

Project stages were the following:

1. Design, deployment and maintenance of DEV / PROD environments in one cluster, including training of Сustomer’s engineers:
   • Deploy Full Management Kubernetes Cluster with automation of VPS / Security Group / Policy deployment for each of the DEV / PROD environments, using GitOps practices and Flux 2 solutions
   • Transfer local development to DEV Cluster with differentiation of access rights to code of different projects
   • As part of Kubernetes configure AutoSkaling of clusters and applications
   • Implement the use of Spot-Instans and configure Termination Handler to avoid services drop
   • Implement Service Discovery, Ingress (Certificate Manager) and Service Mesh
   • Configure full monitoring of cluster and applications using Prometeus, Grafana, PagerDuty and Slack notifications
   • Configure CI / CD using ArgoCD, GitLab Runner with differentiation of access rights to code of different projects
   • Configure the RBAC system to authorize and verify users to isolate access between NameSpace
2. Setting up automated processes for WordPress development:
   • Develop a WordPress architecture for GEO distributed points
   • Configure CI / CD automation processes (DEV / PROD) including Docker
   • Configure and automate Varnish - Create HelmChart for WordPress
   • Automate database deployment on RDS

We worked with three team members from boredDevOps, led by CTO and two DevOps.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

Now we can launch multiple applications which optimized time on maintenance. We have more systems stability and also critical parameter for SEO was gained - the speed of page response which became higher.

We communicated effectively via slack, emails. Ra weekly syncs.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

We were impressed with BoredDevOps' timeliness and professional attitude. Also their high expertise in Kubernetes, knowledge shared could be implemented in practice at once: DevOps and GitOps culture and top solutions.

I was completely satisfied with the BoredDevOps approach to the implementation of the task.

I'm CTO of a innovative B2B gaming platform. It is an innovative B2B platform that focuses on generating extra profit from the existing client base and attracting new Gen Z customers.

Their job involved migration from a self-managed environment to AWS with Kubernetes infrastructure for automating the deployment, scaling, and management of containerized applications.

We searched DevOps to our team and meet with boredDevOps's сhief. After some talking, we understand it a good idea to have a strong DevOps team. It decision helped us to save cost and time. It was the right way. Thanks, Leonid for that.

Describe the scope of work in detail, including the project steps, key deliverables, and technologies used.

First, we raised everything as it is to understand the DevOps team on how everything works. After that, the guys helped to containerize the project and deploy the test infrastructure. They configured the delivery of code to different environments.

We released the production infrastructure. We covered everything with metrics. Technical stacks of the project are PHP, NodeJS, MySQL, Postgres, MongoDB, Redis, RabbitMQ, Prometheus, Grafana, Kibana + ES e.g.

The CTO and DevOps team participated in the project.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

Now, we have scalable production environment.

They have their own project manager and we talk in Slack with 24/7 support. We had solved any problem if it happened within 20 minutes.

Our team never use AWS + Kubernetes before... The team helped us to migrate and keep our product stable.
