I’m the CMO of a startup called Karamel; we’re a career platform that connects candidates with companies who are hiring.

What challenge were you trying to address with Boil® - Branding agency?

We needed help to develop our brand. Our previous agency wasn’t meeting our expectations, so we reached out to Boil.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

We worked with Boil to define and develop our brand identity and story. First, they conducted marketplace research and analyzed our competitors to help us determine where we could fit best within the landscape.

Then, they orchestrated a one-day workshop to learn about our goals and brainstorm ideas to define our brand. They asked questions, shared feedback, and challenged us to dig deeper and highlight important moments within our brand’s story. They also helped us design visuals and built a specific tone of voice to drive our brand messaging. 

Once we wrapped the workshop, the Boil team met internally to put everything they’d observed on paper. They came up with a thorough document outlining different aspects of our brand, which they presented to us. We weren’t completely happy with all the brand components, so we shared our feedback, and Boil returned to the drawing board. 

They implemented our suggestions and created a final brand book that captured our entire brand identity. The brand book included three logo propositions and a color palette. Per our request, they merged two of the logo propositions to create the final design and then rolled out the definitive brand guide. 

After they executed the final brand guide, we worked with their copywriting team to develop our brand story. The Boil team also created a six-month content calendar that outlined what we should post and when.

I previously worked with Boil and liked their strategy, so I knew they were capable of helping us. When our previous branding partner was not delivering what we asked, I quickly reached out to Boil.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

We’re very happy with the branding services Boil provided us. They effectively helped us define our go-to-market approach and delivered high-quality results. 

How did Boil® - Branding agency perform from a project management standpoint?

We had a hard launch deadline, and Boil executed results quickly. We put pressure on them to meet our deadlines, and they delivered. We were pleased with how they managed the project; they were good communicators, and we kept in touch via phone and email.  

What did you find most impressive about them?

Boil’s biggest strength is their expertise with brand strategy; they’re good at what they do. They helped us effectively position ourselves within the market by creating a name that stands out. 

Are there any areas they could improve?

It would be great if they could hire more experts who focus on growth marketing. That way, they can become a full-service, one-stop shop for branding and marketing.

If you have a great idea and aren’t sure how to position yourself in the market and develop a brand identity, I’d recommend reaching out to Boil.

They take care of our branding.

What was the scope of their involvement?

They’ve helped us develop our brand from scratch, including our name. Other tasks include trademarking, designing our logo, securing our domain, and building our visual identity. They were instrumental in setting our tone and voice, as well as creating our packaging. Finally, they developed our website. In the future, we’re going to partner with them on marketing campaigns.

We came to them for wireframes ahead of time, but we mostly communicated our requirements via interview. I helped them with a lot of the copy for our site, too.

What is the team composition?

I worked with the owner, who helped us with our strategic branding, the web developer, and a designer.

How did you come to work with Boil® - Branding agency?

They came recommended by friends, and one of my friends had actually worked there in the past. After looking at other branding agencies, I received a few quotes, and Boil’s was far and away the best.

How much have you invested with them?

The total cost is around €15,000 (approximately $15,000 USD).

What is the status of this engagement?

We’ve been working together since October 2021.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

We’re not live yet, but they’ve done a great job of producing a brand that fits in with what we’re trying to create. Boil has also been very receptive to our feedback, which is crucial to me.

How did Boil® - Branding agency perform from a project management standpoint?

This is a minor point, but we would have preferred another communication method to be added instead of just speaking over email. It sometimes gets hard to ask all the questions we need in that medium, as well as keep threads and the information in them organized. We also have regular meetings to go over the software

What did you find most impressive about them?

I’m especially happy with how their designers execute their work. The designer we work with is very diligent and goes the extra mile when he needs to. Additionally, their whole team is very receptive to feedback. 

Are there any areas they could improve?

Their project management could improve a bit, specifically around open communication and providing timelines at the outset. Additionally, I would really have liked a bit more detail and transparency in their initial cost quote. They provided a few lines that didn’t offer much explanation, and the situation required a lot of back and forth to clear up.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Ask plenty of questions beforehand and set clear expectations.

I'm the CEO and owner of a company that produces devices to enhance health and wellness. We just finished one of our products, which we’re now marketing in Europe. Hopefully, we will eventually market it worldwide.

I needed help with branding awareness and marketing. Our new product is an innovative technology and a new way of addressing aging, so getting our message out was quite challenging.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Boil® has helped us with our branding awareness and marketing, providing us with outstanding ideas. Their marketing efforts focus on gaining credibility by gathering reviews and testimonials, as well as creating videos to explain to people how our technology works.

As for our branding, Boil® has created a full branding package for us, including the logos, colors, names, key phrases, key visuals, fonts, and more. Additionally, they’ve implemented all those different branding assets into our messaging by creating one-pagers on our website, flyers, brochures, and, of course, the explainer videos.

What is the team composition?

I work with Philippe and Jordy (Co-Founders), as well as with Tom and Laurens (Brand Designers). Tom creates the pictures and visuals and edits the videos, and Laurens designs our brochures.

I had a previous friendship relationship with them.

We’ve spent around €20,000–€30,000 (approximately $20,000–$30,000 USD).

We started working together in January 2022, and the partnership is still ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Boil®’s branding ideas have outperformed the market. Thanks to the visuals and branding they’ve created, people I know in the industry are willing to purchase the product, even though we haven’t even launched it to market.

How did Boil® - Branding agency perform from a project management standpoint?

Boil® has matched the pace with my production and sales cycles, and we’re expecting to have everything ready to launch my product in September 2022. As for communication, I communicate with their designers via WhatsApp, and I send them emails whenever I need to provide them with more extensive information. Additionally, we have regular Zoom and Microsoft Teams meetings to elaborate on ideas and talk about strategies.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Boil® is placed among the people who disrupt the market. They offer innovative ideas instead of delivering me-too products.

Are there any areas they could improve?

It would be great if Boil® had a more hands-on resource for creating basic designs and making quick corrections, no matter if it were a lesser-qualified art designer.

Any advice for potential customers?

If you have a me-too product and you're looking to raise awareness, work on the message first before spreading it.

After a detailed briefing on the goals, Boil created a brand concept that showcased a full comprehension of my needs. After a first check, we immediatly were on the right spot. The packaging design needes a few more iterations, but it was ok after e couple of days

My first pitch at a retail store, was immediatly a success.

Yes, after two meetings, they came back with brands concepts to see if they were on the right track and they were. The next meeting, only one week later, we were totally ok with the brand concept.
