Despite our long history and institutional relevance, our digital presence did not reflect our organization's dimension or mission. We engaged Bluesoft with two clear objectives: develop a new website that accurately represented our identity, work, and values, and implement an SEO strategy to improve our organic visibility in search engines.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We tracked the outcomes in two categories: technical and organizational. On the technical side, the new website delivered a measurable improvement in organic search visibility. We began appearing for key search terms related to nature conservation, environmental NGOs, and our specific programs in Portugal, terms where the previous site had little to no presence. Page load performance, mobile usability, and site structure scores also improved significantly compared to the previous platform.

On the organizational side, the impact was visible in the quality of inbound contact. Requests from partners, researchers, and institutions increased, and those reaching out arrived with a clearer understanding of our work, which we attribute to the improved content structure and visibility. For a nonprofit of our nature, this kind of qualified engagement matters more than raw traffic numbers.

The broader outcome, and the one that is hardest to quantify but most significant, is that our digital presence now reflects what we actually are: the oldest nature conservation ONGD in the Iberian Peninsula, with over 75 years of work and a mission that deserves to be found.

Deadlines were respected. Where adjustments were needed along the way, as is normal in any project involving content, institutional approvals, and iterative refinements, the team communicated proactively and adapted without losing momentum. For an organization like ours, where internal capacity is focused on conservation work rather than digital projects, having a partner that manages the process without requiring constant oversight was particularly valuable. Bluesoft handled the complexity on their end and kept things simple on ours.

What did you find most impressive about them?

What stood out most was the combination of technical competence and genuine understanding of our context. Many agencies can build a website. Fewer take the time to understand what an organization actually is before deciding how to present it digitally. Bluesoft approached our project with curiosity, asking the right questions about our mission, our audiences, and the work we have been doing for over 75 years in nature conservation in Portugal.

That understanding shaped everything: the structure of the site, the way content was organized, the SEO strategy, and the terms we chose to be visible for. The result was not a generic institutional website; it was a digital presence built around what we genuinely represent.

I'm the marketing director of Recordati, a pharmaceutical company focused on specialty therapeutics. Through our Área HBP brand, we provide healthcare professionals and patients with trusted information on benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) management.

We needed to design, develop, and launch the Área HBP website from scratch. The platform is dedicated to providing reliable information on BPH for both patients and healthcare professionals.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Bluesoft handled the full scope of the project end-to-end. 
The main deliverables included the complete UX/UI design of the website, tailored to healthcare audiences with a focus on accessibility and clarity; the full front-end and back-end development of the platform; a comprehensive SEO strategy covering keyword research, on-page optimization, technical SEO, and content structure; and an AEO strategy to ensure our content was optimized for AI-generated answers and large language models. 
They also provided ongoing guidance on content architecture, ensuring that medical information was structured in a way that performed well both for users and search engines. Bluesoft delivered the entire website themselves. They handled all the coding — both front-end and back-end development — as well as the full UX/UI design, from wireframes to final visual implementation. 
They were also responsible for the complete SEO setup, including technical configuration, keyword strategy, and on-page optimization across all pages. On the AEO side, they structured and optimized the content specifically for AI visibility. The only part managed internally was the medical content itself, which was reviewed and approved by our medical team, but Bluesoft guided us on how to structure and format that content for maxisearch and AI performance.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Since launching the website, we've seen a consistent growth in organic traffic, with Área HBP ranking on the first page of Google for key terms related to BPH in Portugal. Our content is also being referenced by AI-powered platforms such as ChatGPT and Perplexity when users ask about BPH, which was a core objective of the AEO strategy. 
User engagement metrics, including time on page and pages per session, have exceeded our initial benchmarks, indicating that the content structure and UX design are performing well. Overall, the platform has established itself as a credible and visible digital resource in the Portuguese healthcare space. Organic traffic increased by approximately 150%–200% within the first six months post-launch compared to our initial baseline. 
Average time on page was around 3–4 minutes, which is well above industry benchmarks for healthcare information websites. Additionally, key target keywords moved from no ranking to the top five positions on Google.pt within the first quarter. The AEO results were also impressive; our content began appearing as a referenced source in AI tools within weeks of the optimization being implemented.

How did Bluesoft perform from a project management standpoint?

Bluesoft's project management was excellent. They followed a well-structured process with clear milestones, regular check-ins, and transparent communication throughout. Deliverables were presented on time, and whenever adjustments were needed, particularly around medical content review cycles on our side, they adapted quickly without letting the overall timeline slip. 
They were also proactive in flagging potential bottlenecks early, which kept the project on track. Overall, the collaboration was smooth and professional from start to finish.

What did you find most impressive about them?

What impressed us most was Bluesoft's ability to think beyond traditional web development. They didn't just build a website; they built a digital asset designed for long-term visibility. Their integrated approach, combining UX design, SEO, and AEO into a single cohesive strategy, was something we didn't find with other agencies. Particularly unique was their expertise in AEO and positioning content for AI-powered platforms, which is still a very new discipline in Portugal. 
They understood the healthcare space well, respecting the sensitivity and accuracy required for medical content while still pushing for max digital performance. It felt like working with a strategic partner, not just a service provider.

Are there any areas they could improve?

Given the complexity of the AEO strategy, we would have appreciated a bit more structured reporting on the AI visibility results, such as regular tracking of where and how our content was being cited by AI platforms. However, this is more a reflection of how new this discipline is rather than a shortcoming from Bluesoft.

Overall, the experience was very positive, and we wouldn't hesitate to work with them again.

We’ve seen a 30% annual traffic growth. The website has a large amount of traffic, many monthly visits from organic sources, and recently also from recommendations by ChatGPT, Gemini, and Claude. It has very strong SEO and AEO.
