Deliverable: Visual Design‌

Creative Kickoff Conversation to discuss business goals, messaging and aesthetic guidelines for the brand and the new website.

Homepage Design. We will create a design for the homepage based upon the outcome of the creative kickoff conversation. Included: Initial design concept with up to 3 rounds of revision if needed.

Interior Page Template Design. Upon approval of the homepage design, we’ll create an initial web design for four different interior page layouts. Which pages will receive this level of attention will be mutually determined as part of our work together. These layouts will create the theme to be used on every other page of the site. (Your designer doesn’t individually sketch every single page before programming; the other pages are created using modular design elements defined by these layouts.)  Included: initial design for four page layouts, plus up to 2 revisions for each page. 

Custom Graphics. We'll develop custom production header graphics, art or photographic banners for up to 8 additional pages of the site. (After launch, you can also add additional art to the site and update the header images using the CMS as well.) ‌

Deliverable: Programming‌

We will program the website using a clean, modern HTML style favored by search engines. 
We'll build up to 12 pages as defined during the course of development, using the templates defined above, content and photos provided by you (some additional stock photos provided by us if needed), and a mix of design elements defined during Visual Design work. The website will be fully integrated with Wordpress and its functionality will be based on that available from Wordpress and a handful of plugins as required during the course of development.
Deliverable: SEO Research + Onsite Optimization

Strategy & Implementation
We will research your target audience, plus online and local competition. (In Google’s linear search results, everyone currently outranking you is a “competitor”.) We’ll generate a list of targetable search keywords based upon measurable search traffic volume and competitive analysis. We'll track your rankings for these keywords, and we'll present that list to you and work with you to develop the on-site plan. We’ll integrate selected keywords into your site's architecture, metatags and URL structure where applicable, optimizing up to 12 pages. You understand and acknowledge that we do not have the ability to directly control the order in which Google ranks businesses.

Deliverable: Mobile Optimization
The entire site will use the principles of Responsive Design to ensure it is easy to read and navigate on the most popular mobile phones and touchscreen devices. 

Prelaunch Tutorial and Review‌
When we've built the site we'll provide you with access on a private server. We will also schedule an online tutorial via screenshare, showing you how to manage the site. ‌Prior to giving your approval to launch the site, you'll have 5 business days to review it on the private development server. At that time you'll be able to click through the site and make any final text changes using the editing system. ‌You'll also have the opportunity to provide us with a single, comprehensive list of any issues you've noticed that still need to be resolved before launch. This is called the Punchlist. For pages based on designs that you've already approved, you can let us know anything that doesn't work as expected and needs to be corrected to better match the approved design.  For pages whose layouts were created by us during the build process, you can also request a round of simple layout adjustments to more effectively showcase your content using the design elements we've created. If you request any changes to the design or functionality of the site which are beyond the scope of this project and would result in hourly fees, we'll let you know at that time. We will never perform any work that would result in additional charges without your written approval in advance.‌

Launch
Once you’ve approved the site, and you’ve signed up for hosting, we’ll configure the site and server to make the site publicly-accessible at your own web domain. We’ll help you modify your DNS settings to ensure that web visitors who type in your domain are taken to your new site.

From day one, the Bizango team was rare in their ability to understand our business, identify how we could simplify our digital story telling in a website, and in assisting us in developing a vision to bring that story-telling into reality.

They stayed ahead of schedule in every single milestone and kept expectations and communication crisp and clear. Their team was well-integrated and always showed up aligned and prepared. They took edits + feedback back into their creative process in a way that felt seamless on our end.

We will be using this team again and are huge proponents of their creative style and value in a landscape full of disjointed, overpriced web design teams!

They delivered on our ambitious ask, ahead of schedule. The Bizango team noted it would be tough to get everything done prior to the holidays but they'd do it if we kept to their timeline of requests for information, edits, etc.

Their team is amazingly calm and receptive. Bizango's team has strong opinions about design and how best to bring a story to life. They're the ideal partner to bring a vision to life because they "hear" the most important, non-negotiable aspects of our businesses while being creative with everything else!

Are there any areas for improvement or something Bizango could have done differently?

There really is not. We've worked with many digital agencies and almost always feel disappointed or underwhelmed. This is the first time, in 8 years of businesses, that we've walked away feel like our expectations were not only met but exceeded!

When the ball was in Bizango's court, they provided us timelines and completed their deliverable in their promised time line. When the ball was in our court, Bizango's project manager was there as needed walking us through the steps and checking in on our progress so their team could be ready for next steps.

Project management was tight, well performed, on time, as well as very considerate and patient with us as we are running a business as well as coming up with content for the site. We never waited for them, on the contrary, they were patiently waiting for our part, the content.

It was great working with people who were very technically smart and good at what they do and also very understanding and empathetic to our business. Techie and customer service in one package?! It was great. Other companies we have worked with had one or the other, Bizango has both at a high level!

Are there any areas for improvement or something Bizango could have done differently?

I don't think so... they did every they could for us... even offered to help with the type and hire a photographer for the photos. Any trouble we had was entirely on our end getting the type and photos.

I’m the director of business development for Foushee & Associates, a general contractor in the greater Seattle area.

What challenge were you trying to address with Bizango?

Our website was extremely old. It needed to be completely dismantled and rebuilt.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Bizango began the project by conducting an in-depth interview about our company’s culture, values, and goals for the website. As a general contractor, we wanted our site to be an informative tool that encourages referrals to partner with us. Afterward, we gave their team content and asked them to build the site around it.

In the rebuild, we maintained a lot of the functionality of our old site, focusing our efforts on revamping the design. We wanted less text and more graphics, to hold people’s attention. Bizango was responsible for collecting the text that we did need and integrating it onto pages, along with photos we provided ahead of time. 

The team offered their own platform for the website platform as well as for website maintenance, and the software allows for very simple updates. They did all of the page creation in InDesign before converting it onto the site.

What is the team composition?

Mark (Co-Founder & Creative Director) handled the design aspect of our project, while Elise (Project Manager) was one of our main points of contact. I coordinated our contract with Stewart (Head of Sales), and a few other folks that I wasn’t in contact with were assigned to our account.

How did you come to work with Bizango?

We had a few referrals, but they didn’t seem to be the right fit. I ended up searching for local web creators, and Bizango was one of the results. Their company culture seemed really positive, and we were confident they would provide us with the focus and attention we wanted.

How much have you invested with them? 

We spent about $30,000 on the project.

What is the status of this engagement?

Our engagement took place from January 2019–February 2020. The actual project only took about six months, but we put it on hold for some time while we had some internal staffing changes.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

We haven’t announced our launch yet, but the website is live. Plenty of people have navigated to it so far, and the feedback we get on it has been overwhelmingly positive.

Internally, we’re ecstatic. The site is much more representative of our company and culture than the old one was. Essentially, that was exactly what we were looking for — a platform that visualizes that we’re a top-notch contractor who takes good care of our customers. 

How did Bizango perform from a project management standpoint?

If Elise had a construction management degree, I’d hire her in seconds. She was very responsive, pleasant, and concerned with making sure we were happy with the project. We kept in touch mainly over email and phone calls. 

At one point in the process, we weren’t happy with some of their deliverables, and they immediately set up a meeting in our office to reach realignment. It was a very impressive, positive experience, and from that point on we were completely satisfied.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Their ability to listen to our ideas and implement them on a website was really outstanding. We lacked a technical vocabulary, and the fact that they were able to form what we were communicating in terms of culture and values into a website was incredible. We were also really appreciative of their level of responsiveness.

Are there any areas they could improve?

We enjoyed working with them. There was nothing we were overly disappointed in at all.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Be as open and transparent as you can be. Invest a lot of time in discovering what you’re trying to communicate with your website before you meet with the team, because they’ll do a great job of listening to you and executing it. Bizango wants to know what your values are, what you want your website to feel like, and how your company operates.

What challenge were you trying to address with Bizango?

Our website was extremely dated, so we searched for a local web developer who could develop a new site with a modern design.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Our industry is not particularly high-tech, so we didn’t need cutting-edge features; we only needed a clean platform that displayed our company’s bio and contact information. Although it would have been more thrilling for them to implement cutting-edge features, they never challenged our preference for simplicity. They interviewed us at our office to get a sense of what we wanted to achieve with the new website. After creating an initial design, they sent us the draft to review. We gave them feedback, and they went back to make updates and revisions. This cycle continued until our teams were satisfied with the website.

What is the team composition?

We had three contacts at one point, but we worked with two people for the majority of the project.

How did you come to work with Bizango?

We had a preference to work with a local company so that we could easily meet up with them when necessary. Bizango was one of the top companies that appeared in our web search. Their office was five minutes away from ours, and they had stellar reviews, so we reached out to them and eventually hired them.

Their web development services cost us $8,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

They started building the website in February 2017, and we launched it in May 2017.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Our website hasn’t amplified our audience, but that wasn’t our goal. Although many companies are using their sites to generate business, we only wanted to provide a resource for our existing clients. They built a simple website with straightforward functionality, just as we requested.  

How did Bizango perform from a project management standpoint?

Despite their advanced technical background, they patiently explained their work in a way that we could comprehend; this also helped us articulate our goals more eloquently. Most of our interactions occurred during the reviewal stages, whereas communication was sparse during the development stages.

What did you find most impressive about them?

It’s hard to say what we love most about Bizango because they have so many great qualities. We appreciated their friendliness, but we also admired their honesty. Perhaps their competence is their best characteristic, considering their skills were the primary factor in our website’s success.

Are there any areas they could improve?

Working with them was great; their prices were fair, they were friendly, and they allowed us to be ourselves with a simple website. We don’t have any suggestions for improvement because they did a great job all around.

Give Bizango a chance. We had a great experience, and you probably will too.

I was the CEO of Blue Oak Energy, a solar engineering and construction provider for commercial and utility-scale facilities, during the duration of this project.

We contacted Bizango based on their reputation. After an initial phone interview and an in-person meeting, we were impressed with their full-service marketing team. They had the capabilities to produce graphics, perform SEO, and could provide a well-rounded solution for all our marketing needs.

Bizango developed a new website for us with the flexibility to easily adjust our marketing language.
