I am the Operations Manager for Kiemle-Hankins, an emergency services and maintenance company servicing major industrial customers across OH, MI, IN, IL, and KY. I mainly am involved in a lot of the internal projects for employee satisfaction, procedures, and programs land on my desk for me or my team to knock out.

Beverly Boy was tasked (on short notice to boot) with bringing in video and audio techs to produce a high quality streaming video with interactive capabilities for our cornhole championship associate event.

What were your goals for this project?

As a welcome relief to the ongoing pandemic, we wanted to bring all locations together for a fun, relaxed time that was better than a normal meet and greet lunch or dinner.

Since we couldnt bring everyone to us, we wanted to have the whole event be fun and engaging (a cornhole championship) and we wanted to have the whole company able to watch online with fairly high production value and interaction.

When we realized the scope of the project was over any internal capabilities we did some quick research and Beverly Boy jumped out at us as capable of doing what we wanted, and after a few phone calls to discuss the project during which Felice (our contact Beverly Boy) asked some great questions we knew we had the right vendor.

This needed to be a live stream; we had a number of discussions leading up to the event to describe in as great of detail as we could what we wanted to have happen, and Josh C and Wade did a great job pulling it all together and coming up with a plan to ensure all of our wants and needs were met.

On the day of the championships Beverly Boy brought in a team that did a great job capturing the event. This included live cornhole games (2 simultaneously for a good chunk of the time), an MC who moved around a lot and did a number of spontaneous things (off script), and 2 live announcers.

They coordinated 3 steady cameras, a roving camera, multiple mic's, 4 remote connections via Zoom, and pushing all of it to Youtube so those not able to get on Zoom could still at least watch the action.

What was your vendors' project management or feedback process?

They provided a 5 person crew who handled the streaming, technical coordination, sound, and camera operations. Leading up to the event we had several discussions about setup.

During the event they were in constant communication with me to let me know if there were any necessary adjustments or if we had heard of any issues from the remote viewers. They flowed very well when we needed to make adjustments or wholesale changes, offering suggestions on what they could do to capture it all.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

The stream and subsequent production was a smashing success by the only metric that mattered to us - our remote locations were able to see and hear everything perfectly, and interact with the event location.

This was purely an internal event for boosting associate morale and just trying to have fun as a company. Beverly Boy made it a truly memorable experience for everyone involved.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

I could not have had an easier time managing this project. Once the vision was described to Josh C and Wade they told me what they were thinking, incorporated our ideas seamlessly, and ran with it. The outcome was even better than we could have hoped to achieve.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

They absolutely took care of every bit of the production except the vision itself. Took a huge load and concern off me and my staff and allowed for just a stellar production.

They showed up on time, setup the basics, adjusted what needed adjusted, communicated with me and my team clearly and precisely, and knocked it out of the park. I have never worked with a different production crew but I cannot imagine any would be better and for any future projection I will not hesitate to contact Beverly Boy first!

This was a 11/10 production from our standpoint, not sure what they could improve on.

BBP’s team filmed interviews with our customers, contractors, and personnel, and then they edited them for a variety of uses. Sometimes their team films on job sites. We’ve used the videos for educational purposes, and celebrations and conference.

They’ve done more than a dozen videos for our company, and we will continue to use them in the future.

What was your vendors’ project management or feedback process?

Finding BBP was a sign of complete serendipity! I am in frequent contact with our assigned producer, who promptly answers any message or call. He devised a tracking system for our projects without any prompting.

Filming at job sites can present a challenge when it comes to lighting and sound. BBP does an excellent job during the filming and editing process.

Our CEO loves the content BBP produces. The videos are an excellent way to introduce our company to prospective partners. We recently showed one of our complex videos at an event, and it was extraordinarily well-received.

We were curating the King of the Club campaign for Club WPT, our subscription-based game. We ran a promotion that allowed users to win – through a qualification process – a seat at a televised final table. Since this format differentiated from past tournaments, we needed commercials to support the digital advertising campaign.

What was the scope of their involvement?

We collaborated on storyboards for two concepts. The first featured a ‘king of the club’ displaying his poker skills; viewers would want to emulate him. The second concept was a narrative about an average player winning his way into the televised tournament.

They scripted both commercials while coordinating with our production team; I worked on music and overall direction. In the end, they produced a 15-second and 30-second cut for each commercial.

We achieved many of our goals, including increased subscriptions for our vertical. Although it’s unclear how those results directly correlated to the commercial assets, the campaign was definitely a success.

As a smaller agency, they provided personalized day-to-day service while delivering quality video content. We had extensive an extensive post-production process, but they never balked at our revisions.

They provided comprehensive filming, and pre- and post-production services for a great price. Value per dollar spent was unusually high; spending more at another agency would’ve been inefficient.

Although their shooting and editing skills impressed us, they could’ve been more creative during pre-production. We brainstormed most of the ideas. However, their portfolio largely comprised company testimonials, which aren’t innately creative projects.

My purpose in hiring Beverly Boy Productions was to photograph a run through of my new miniatures game Dinoniche at the Rocky Mountain Dinosaur Resource Center in Woodland Park, Colorado. 

I was hoping to get good photographs and promotional videos to use in my Kickstarter, pre-launch, and advertising.

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

Our photographer Alex Scherer did an phenomenal job. He was very easy to work with and captured more than enough excellent photos and videos to fulfill all my needs. The editing team did an amazing job as well. 

They touched up all the photos and gave me both a 3 minute and a 30 second promotional video. I was blown away the first time I saw the completed 30 second video. There is nothing I can think of that could have made it better. The 3 minute video was equally as well made. 

Lastly, Alora, my contact throughout the project, was very easy to communicate with. Everything I requested was done exactly as I wished and no question was left without a satisfactory answer. Some photos from the shoot can be seen at get.dinoniche.com (for as long as the site is up). 

Any photo that is described as having been taken at the Rocky Mountain Dinosaur Resource Center was taken and edited by Beverly Boy Productions.

Describe their project management. Did they deliver items on time? How did they respond to your needs?

The team I was working with was very efficient, so much so that they were hard to keep up with sometimes. Throughout the time I was working with them I was having my logo designed by a much less efficient company. 

Beverly Boy Productions was able to make both videos and edit all the photos is less time than it took me to finalize my logo.
