The prime-ing GmbH is a company in the service environment, for the outsourcing of HR, legal and purchasing tasks in a company regarding external suppliers. In addition, prime-ing administers everything that has to do with temp labor employment in companies. We are a subsidiary of the ABLE Group, which is the largest company in the engineering and IT services sector in Germany. I'm the the CEO of prime-ing GmbH

We develop a collaboration platform to bring several stakeholders together in projects - but still respecting the legal requirements.

Time, availability of development teams that work as a team and the money.

How did you select this vendor?

We have scanned many international companies and assigned them technical tasks. Berg Computers were not the cheapest, but they understood the task best. They told us clearly what they could and could not do. So Berg Computers became clearly "calculable" for us

What was the team composition?

We have a small development team in Germany. The rest of the team works in Romania at the company Berg Computers. We work in two Scrum teams.

Can you share any information that demonstrates the impact that this project has had on your business?

How was project management arranged and how effective was it?

We are working in two scrum teams. Some of them are in our company in germany and the others are in romania.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

there "german" touch in this company.

fewer bugs - but that is the wish of every client.

For what projects/services did your company hire Berg Software?

The cooperation started with the development of some modules in the economical field, which had to be aligned with the Romanian legislation. Further on, we used these modules to also report to the headquarters. Another application that was developed by Berg Software for us was an interface with the production machines, for planning and follow-up

The fulfillment of customer's request, flow optimization and a better user experience . Fulfill requests imposed by Romanian legislation ( eg Fiscal )

in 2002 we have made a research on software developer in Timisoara and they fulfill better our needs at that time

Berg Software provided and maintained economical modules which were all integrated in a personalized ERP. They have built new applications for particular requests, integrating them with 3rd party requests (like banks, automation or warehousing)

What was the team composition?

The team used to fluctuate in numbers depending on the workload, so we had discuss with ~ 3-5 Berg Software developers which we counted on. Probably other specialists were behind.

Can you share any information that demonstrates the impact that this project has had on your business?

We have improved our internal processes, no doubt about it! Because of Berg Software's employees' experience, seriousness and professionalism, most of our company's workflows have been automated, reduced time wise and optimized. We have a good connection with them and all these 18 years in which they were at our disposal is proof for both our companies' success.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

I have to underline the flexibility upon requests : different changes , requests. The quality and longevity of their work are undoubted, considering we've used their applications for 18 years now.

I work as an IT Software Development Manager for a large IT firm. I manage and participate in development for various internal applications within the company.

We needed maintenance and new project work for the various applications under our ownership.

What were your goals for this project?

We wanted to maintain our applications and efficiently close out our backlog. We also wanted to implement new projects and offer L2 support to users.

How did you select this vendor?

The vendor was already working with the team when I joined. Later on, I was involved in decisions about whether to continue with Berg Software or move to different vendors, and I always chose them based on our experience working together.

Describe the project in detail.

They did maintenance for our applications, with the purpose of closing down our ever-growing business backlog. They implemented new projects throughout their life cycle, from design to implementation, testing, and deployment. They also provided L2 support for those applications.

What was the team composition?

The team used to fluctuate in numbers depending on the workload, but we had at least five developers at any given time, and up to 20 when multiple projects ran in parallel. We worked with both lead and junior developers. We had lead developers as full-time employees on-site, while the rest of the team was off-site. Berg Software also provided a QA resource.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

Our projects and maintenance ran efficiently with excellent outcomes. Our business partners and customers were always impressed by the speed with which we delivered, as well as the high level of quality and support we offered.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

We had a very good working relationship with both of the company's managers, as well as the resources working in our teams. We worked with the developers directly, and therefore our communication was highly effective. The managers worked on-site, which helped with administrative and organizational matters.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

The quality of resources the company attracted was always impressive. We had highly skilled people working on our projects, which is the reason why they were so successful.

Are there any areas for improvement?

Sometimes we wished they could have hired new resources faster, but we understand it’s a competitive market.

I’m the CEO of Perry Systems, a New-Jersey-based provider of system integrations and end-to-end solutions to customers in the financial, online marketing, and medical industry.

What challenge were you trying to address with Berg Software?

They provided programming, database, and UI/UX resources to us, for Microsoft products, among others. They’re good people providing good services, so our relationship with them has stuck.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Berg Software provides services around internet technologies, most of them Microsoft, including SQL Server and .NET. There’s also been a lot of HTML, JavaScript, MySQL, and several PHP framework programming projects in the past few years alone. We’ve been working with them for 20 years and have used many different technologies.

What is the team composition?

We’ve used around 30 developers from their team throughout the years. There are two at the moment who have been working with us consistently for a long time.

How did you come to work with Berg Software?

We were looking for reasonably priced, well trained, and disciplined resources. I had some contacts in Romania, which suited us as we were looking for places that offered cheaper resources than the US. I took a trip there and met with about 12 providers. I started working with 4–5 of them and narrowed the options down to Berg Software from that. We’ve stayed with them since.

What is the status of this engagement?

We’ve been working with them for over 20 years.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We’ve developed multiple platforms with them, and the impeccable quality of their work is why we’ve stayed with them for over 20 years. Several of the platforms sold as exits. Berg had a nice part in the development of some that were purchased for a lot of money. They did well in terms of quality and longevity.

They understand the business and what’s required, and they execute. They provide good feedback and on-time delivery throughout. Plus, if there’re any hiccups or issues, we’ll know about them. If I need to deliver something mid-morning, they won’t call me first thing to say that it’s late.

How did Berg Software perform from a project management standpoint?

We have our own project management system, and we’ve also used Jira and ActiveCollab with them. Berg is very responsive, and they fill up their timesheets with descriptions and completions as-expected.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They’re very good with Microsoft technologies as a whole, and with e-commerce and website applications. Berg is the go-to place for us, for those areas.

Are there any areas they could improve?

No. The issues that have come up are normal, standard things, and they’re being addressed. Berg is very responsive, and I have no complaints.

Do you have any advice for future clients of theirs?

No.

I am the CEO of ProLion. We sell products to enterprise storage customers and provide data management software for those storage systems.

What challenge were you trying to address with Berg Software?

We needed software development for our company.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Berg Software develops standard software components for the hardware products we produce. Deliverables include ransomware and malware protection for storage systems. They also build data analytics software, which can identify the owner, the type and age of data, and who is accessing it. As part of ongoing coding services, Berg Software has delivered a backup and restore product that can be used within the storage system; users can browse through snapshots and apply filters to find deleted files.

What is the team composition?

The team includes three full-time developers.

How did you come to work with Berg Software?

One of our clients recommended them after a successful project. We tested Berg Software with a rough prototype project. The team produced a high-quality result.

How much have you invested in them?

We have spent around $200,000–$250,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working together in July 2017 and the partnership is ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Our sales are strong because customers like the standard software components, which are now our core revenue stream. We give Berg Software a lot of freedom to develop the software on their own and they come back with great results. We are happy with the quality and quantity of their output. The products are user-friendly and have a modern design.

How did Berg Software perform from a project management standpoint?

They fix users’ issues quickly. The team is flexible and produces quality work, communicating via a collaboration tool. They’re also within driving distance for face-to-face meetings. Overall, the team is personable and we are happy with them.

What did you find most impressive about them?

The team generates ideas for individual design elements based on our corporate design guidelines. The resulting visuals are noteworthy. Also, the team has integrated the license management proactively.

Are there any areas they could improve?

No, we are satisfied. The price could always be a little lower, but we get quality in return.

I recommend them to everyone because they are a good partner to work with.
