The team used to fluctuate in numbers depending on the workload, so we had discuss with ~ 3-5 Berg Software developers which we counted on. Probably other specialists were behind.

We have improved our internal processes, no doubt about it! The vendor was already working with the team when I joined. Later on, I was involved in decisions about whether to continue with Berg Software or move to different vendors, and I always chose them based on our experience working together.

They did maintenance for our applications, with the purpose of closing down our ever-growing business backlog. They implemented new projects throughout their life cycle, from design to implementation, testing, and deployment. They also provided L2 support for those applications.
What was the team composition?
The team used to fluctuate in numbers depending on the workload, but we had at least five developers at any given time, and up to 20 when multiple projects ran in parallel. We worked with both lead and junior developers. We had lead developers as full-time employees on-site, while the rest of the team was off-site. Berg Software also provided a QA resource.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?
Our projects and maintenance ran efficiently with excellent outcomes. Our business partners and customers were always impressed by the speed with which we delivered, as well as the high level of quality and support we offered.
How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?
We had a very good working relationship with both of the company's managers, as well as the resources working in our teams. We worked with the developers directly, and therefore our communication was highly effective. The managers worked on-site, which helped with administrative and organizational matters.

I’m the CEO of Perry Systems, a New-Jersey-based provider of system integrations and end-to-end solutions to customers in the financial, online marketing, and medical industry.

What challenge were you trying to address with Berg Software?
They provided programming, database, and UI/UX resources to us, for Microsoft products, among others. They’re good people providing good services, so our relationship with them has stuck.
SOLUTION
What was the scope of their involvement?
Berg Software provides services around internet technologies, most of them Microsoft, including SQL Server and .NET. There’s also been a lot of HTML, JavaScript, MySQL, and several PHP framework programming projects in the past few years alone. We’ve been working with them for 20 years and have used many different technologies.
What is the team composition?
We’ve used around 30 developers from their team throughout the years. There are two at the moment who have been working with us consistently for a long time.
How did you come to work with Berg Software?
We were looking for reasonably priced, well trained, and disciplined resources. I had some contacts in Romania, which suited us as we were looking for places that offered cheaper resources than the US. I took a trip there and met with about 12 providers. I started working with 4–5 of them and narrowed the options down to Berg Software from that. We’ve stayed with them since.
What is the status of this engagement?
We’ve been working with them for over 20 years.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
We’ve developed multiple platforms with them, and the impeccable quality of their work is why we’ve stayed with them for over 20 years. Several of the platforms sold as exits. Berg had a nice part in the development of some that were purchased for a lot of money. They did well in terms of quality and longevity.
They understand the business and what’s required, and they execute. They provide good feedback and on-time delivery throughout. Plus, if there’re any hiccups or issues, we’ll know about them. If I need to deliver something mid-morning, they won’t call me first thing to say that it’s late.
How did Berg Software perform from a project management standpoint?
We have our own project management system, and we’ve also used Jira and ActiveCollab with them. Berg is very responsive, and they fill up their timesheets with descriptions and completions as-expected.
What did you find most impressive about them?
They’re very good with Microsoft technologies as a whole, and with e-commerce and website applications. Berg is the go-to place for us, for those areas.
Are there any areas they could improve?
No. The issues that have come up are normal, standard things, and they’re being addressed. Berg is very responsive, and I have no complaints.

They fix users’ issues quickly. The team is flexible and produces quality work, communicating via a collaboration tool. They’re also within driving distance for face-to-face meetings. Overall, the team is personable and we are happy with them.
