What challenge were you trying to address with BED Productions?

We were trying to create media content to tell about the cancer services we offer to our patients, as well as create some storytelling content around the patients we help at our cancer center.

What was the scope of their involvement?

BED has helped us create the video content we needed, and they’ve become our go-to video production company. Their team has been involved every step of the way in our video production projects, including identifying the goals and the stories we’re trying to tell, setting the timelines, crafting questions, meeting with patients, filming, editing, and producing the videos.

We’ve done several projects with BED, both for animated and film videos. A lot of the videos we produce are featured on our website and social media, but we’ve also done some videos for national TV commercials. The social media channels include LinkedIn and YouTube TV.

In the beginning, they worked with our patients and physicians to interview them and film the stories of patients who have had a great experience with us or received cutting-edge treatment.

As for the animated video production portion, they’ve produced an animated video for us to explain a certain type of treatment for prostate cancer patients. For this project, they worked closely with their animator to craft the video, and they also met with our clinical team to get the idea for the video and lay out the storyboard. Additionally, they wrote the whole script for the voiceover actor.

What is the team composition?

We work with the three main people from BED: Bryan (Director & Cinematographer), Ed (Creative Director), and Dan (Executive Producer) — their initials is where their name comes from.

How did you come to work with BED Productions?

One of our staff members had worked with them prior to when I joined the company. Originally, our then marketing firm referred them when we were looking for video production services.

How much have you invested with them?

We’ve spent over $50,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working together in early 2021, and our engagement is still ongoing.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

The videos produced by BED have received a lot of clicks, views, and shares, resulting in increased business leads. Additionally, we’ve achieved a 98% rate of people watching the videos entirely on YouTubeTV, which is incredible. We’ve also received positive feedback on social media regarding how informative our videos are.

As for the quality of their work, BED’s videos are informative and compassionate, and they excel at storytelling. Additionally, the quality of the animated video is incredible.

How did BED Productions perform from a project management standpoint?

BED has met their deadlines and stayed on budget, and they’re very communicative overall. They frequently communicate with me through phone calls, scheduled meetings, emails, and in-person meetings. We’ve even gotten to the point where we meet to talk about upcoming projects to plan around our current and future needs.

What did you find most impressive about them?

BED has shown true investment in the project from beginning to end. Their best strength is understanding our organization as if they were an extension of our team. Thanks to this approach, they’ve been able to produce videos that explain our culture, core values, and mission. Whenever I meet with them, I’m confident they understand our goals, so I don’t have to reeducate them about our organization.

Are there any areas they could improve?

No. I only wish they keep doing what they always do.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Give them a big-picture idea of your project and talk with them about your overall goals for the video, your culture, and your organization's core values. They’re very creative, so it is best to let them bring their ideas to the table.

Elevate Wealth Advisory was founded in 1982 as Vickery Financial Services with the goal of helping people make smart decisions with their money. Since that time, our team and client base has grown, and our name has changed, but our mission remains the same. We offer our clients Wealth Advice For Your Best Life.

We're more than an investment firm. We're here to understand what you want out of this life, and help ensure you have the financial resources to get there. As a fiduciary, we put our clients' best interests ahead of our own, and we do that through a team approach and an evidence-based investment philosophy.

My role as Marketing Coordinator is to reinforce our brand as one you can trust to ensure your assets are protected and will carry you through the long-haul. One of our core values is lifelong learning, so producing informative content via Webinars, reels, blog posts, newsletters, articles, and presentations is so important.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

For what projects/services did your company hire BED Productions, and what were your goals?

Not everyone finds financial information exciting. Some people find it downright intimidating. Our goal is to educate clients on subjects ranging from investing to estate planning to charitable giving to tax savings in a way that everyone can understand.

We needed a creative approach to this idea that would not only engage people, but incite them to reach out to us for more information.

SOLUTION

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

We put some feelers out into the community that we were seeking a video production company. BED Productions came back highly rated, and we loved the commercials and other videos we saw that they had produced.

Once we met Dan, Ed, and Bryan, their enthusiasm for what they do, the ideas they brought to the table, and their overall positive energy and vibe sealed the deal.

Describe the video(s) and the process in detail, including the project steps and all stages of production.

Our first project was creating a branding video of several lengths--one for our web site, one to use on cable TV, and one to use on social media. We also needed new headshots, group photos, and candid office shots for our web site and social media.

•  The BED team chose a beautiful location for our group shots and headshots with gorgeous lighting and accessories that communicated the look and feel of our company.
• The BED team came to our office location to film for an entire day, bringing with them a box truck with lighting and sound equipment, a makeup artist who did everything from full-on hair styles to makeup application, and touchups. They also brought catering to feed us all throughout the day. They assisted with finding some actors to play our clients, and they also assisted with creating scripts. We filmed each team member talking about the company and what we do. We filmed each team member in their environment, either presenting to clients, greeting people as they enter the office, doing a Zoom presentation, and even our weekly Zoom team meeting. Finally, we ended with some video footage outside in front of our office building.
• BED went through and added stock video footage of people doing things our clients tell us they want to do in retirement...fishing by the lake with grandchildren, paying for their daughter's wedding, buying an RV and traveling the country. The final assets were used on social media. The best traction we received was the 30-second commercial that was played during Atlanta Braves games throughout the 2022 season.  

The second step has been creating a year-long YouTube video series called WealthWise.The BED team created a backdrop for us at their studio that conveys our brand with the colors and look and feel that Elevate stands for. Every other month, we spend 2-3 hours making videos in the studio. They prepare us well ahead of time for what to expect, what to wear, and how to speak clearly.

They make sure we are well hydrated and always look and sound our best. They take several takes until we feel comfortable and our true personalities show through. They work with each team member at their comfort level, as some prefer scripts (which they will upload to a teleprompter) and others prefer to look at a slide and talk about it (in which case they display the slide on a screen for the speaker to see).

After filming, their video production team culls through the footage to get the best takes, adds slides from the presentations, adds graphics, and even adds YouTube Subscribe buttons and End Screens.

I worked directly with Ed James, Dan Jordan, and Bryan Redding. They each bring unique strengths to the team.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

Our social media impressions, new lead generations and YouTube subscriber numbers have quadrupled since producing the videos with BED.

Describe their project management style, including communication tools and timeliness.

The BED team is very organized and clearly communicates expectations, timelines, and items of need. They clearly communicate schedules well ahead of time. I love that they work so far in advance to ensure that everything is taken care of. I can't say enough about timeliness.

For example, we filmed the October and November content in mid-September and it is already edited, produced, and scheduled on our YouTube channel from now (3rd week of September) until the end of November. Such a fast yet professional turnaround!

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

I love how each team member brings their own talents and strength to the team. They all have different creative backgrounds, combining to ensure that creativity remains at its highest at all times.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

Not anything I can think of.

I am the Director of Development and Communications for the Athens Community Council on Aging (ACCA). Our mission is to promote a lifetime of wellness through engagement, advocacy, education and support.

For what projects/services did your company hire BED Productions?

Our needs were two-fold. We wanted to celebrate all we accomplished with our emergency food relief efforts throughout the pandemic. As a result of these efforts, ACCA identified 100 additional seniors in the area who needed our Meals on Wheels services due to COVID-19. This number was a substantial addition to the existing clients we already served. We were looking for a solution to not only highlight our accomplishments but to also reach out to the community for philanthropic support to help us fund these 100 additional seniors for their Meals on Wheels services.

SOLUTION

How did you select this vendor?

BED was recommended by Kaptiv8 who manages our website.

Describe the scope of their work in detail.

We spent a lot of time on the front end discussing our desired needs and outcomes of the project - to inform/celebrate/express our continued need for philanthropic support. We were unsure the best mechanism in which to accomplish this. Through our discovery conversations via email and Zoom calls we were able to lean on their expertise and guidance.

We provided our statistics and they helped bring them to life through scripting and storyboarding for a video campaign. We filmed at several locations over two days and the end result was a world-class video helping us highlight and showcase our continued need for private funding for Meals on Wheels. We were so pleased at the result.

What was the team composition?

Our team dynamic was very collaborative. During the discovery meetings we met with the entire BED team as well as the president of Kaptiv8. From our side it was our CEO, Director of Communications and Marketing and our Outreach Coordinator. As we continued into the logistics of the actual shoot and into editing and such, it was mainly myself and their creative director who communicated and coordinated on behalf of our respective teams.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

We coordinated the dropping of the video with our Meals on Wheels-specific mail campaign and saw a boost in donations to the program.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

Excellent. We were able to accomplish a lot via email and all communications were timely in manner.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

The team and BED are passionate visionaries with each bringing a set of talents and enthusiasm to the table. They listened to our needs/wants/concerns and addressed them head-on with their decades of experience. We truly appreciated their understanding of our needs and made the entire process enjoyable.

I’m one of the owners and brand development president of a restaurant company called Amici Food Group.

Bed Productions provides us with video production, static image design, and radio voiceover services. They’ve helped us leverage all avenues related to our marketing efforts.

How did you come to work with BED Productions?

Through some mutual connections, we were able to meet with BED Productions. We liked what they were doing, and decided to give them a shot. They produced a video for us on a new product we were announcing, and we liked it so much that we further explored what else they could provide for us.

How much have you invested with them?

We’ve probably invested about $150,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working together in September 2017, and our partnership is still ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

As for the general trends, every time we launch a new production we get high impressions on social media, Google, TV, and YouTube.

How did BED Productions perform from a project management standpoint?

They’re a loaded 365-degree group. We start with brainstorming sessions, zero in on our targets, and they’ll then come back to us with a series of ideas to choose from. After that, we take it to the next level where they’ll do the actual production work, and they tend to involve us in video and photo shoots. They finish it up with an editing process and the ultimate delivery of the finished product.

What did you find most impressive about them?

We like that we have a direct connection with the owners of the company. They’re very much involved from the first point of contact, all the way to the end of production and delivery. Other companies don’t often provide a personalized experience as we've had with BED Productions.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

My advice is to let BED Productions do all the work. They take pride in what they do, and the results are usually very good.
