Base X Tech handled the complete redesign of our client's Shopify website from beginning to end. They started with a discovery phase to thoroughly understand our client's brand, audience, and goals for the new site. Then, they moved into UX/UI design, creating wireframes and then detailed visual mockups for all the core pages, which we reviewed and approved together. As a result we got a proffesional design within a discussed timelines.

The most significant measurable outcome was the successful delivery of a comprehensive and high-quality set of website designs that precisely met our client's vision and the project requirements, delivered within the agreed timeframe. We received very positive feedback directly from our end-client on the final designs – they were thrilled with the visual direction and the improved user experience presented in the mockups. Getting their strong approval was a critical measure of success. Additionally, the development team that took over after Base X Tech confirmed that the design files, assets, and documentation were clear, well-structured, and 'developer-ready,' which streamlined the subsequent build phase. So, Base X Tech successfully provided the essential creative blueprint and UX foundation for the project.

Honestly, the project management from Base X Tech was just fantastic throughout the entire design process. Having a dedicated contact person made everything so much easier, and we mostly kept in touch through chat and scheduled calls, which worked perfectly for us. We really appreciated the regular progress updates – we never felt out of the loop about where things stood with the wireframes or mockups. I was particularly impressed by how clearly they stuck to the agreed deadlines for every single design phase; punctuality is so important to us. And whenever we provided feedback, even minor comments from our end-client, they were incredibly responsive and just really pleasant to deal with. They genuinely listened and were very flexible with making revisions, which made the whole thing feel truly collaborative.

Are there any areas for improvement or something Base X Tech could have done differently?

Honestly, it's difficult to think of anything major. The collaboration was excellent and we were thrilled with the final designs. Maybe providing slightly more detailed annotations on some of the very complex UI interactions could have been a small plus for the development handoff, but it wasn't a significant issue at all. Overall, we were genuinely very satisfied with their process and the outcome.

I hired the BASE X team to build a fully custom Shopify website from the ground up, with a unique design tailored specifically to my client's brand. The process began with an in-depth discovery phase, where the team took time to understand the brand, audience, and business objectives. They conducted competitor research, gathered design references, and developed a detailed site structure and sitemap.

From there, the design team created a complete UI Kit, including typography, color palette, and reusable components. They designed wireframes and high-fidelity mockups for all the pages, ensuring everything was fully responsive and visually aligned with the brand. Feedback was incorporated at each stage to fine-tune the visual direction.

Once the designs were finalized, the development team began building a custom Shopify theme from scratch—no pre-made templates were used. They transformed the Figma designs into responsive code, developed flexible and reusable sections, and implemented custom functionality where needed. All components were built with ease of management in mind, allowing the store to be updated easily from the Shopify Admin.

Several advanced features were implemented, including a "Drop a Hint" function, reviews integration, wishlist functionality, announcement bars, and email capture pop-ups. Navigation menus were thoughtfully designed for both the header and footer, and the entire site was optimized for mobile devices.

On the backend, BASE X handled the full Shopify setup— creating collections, configuring currency, shipping, tax, and payment settings, connecting the domain, and integrating apps like Klaviyo, Wishlist, and ParcelPanel.

The project wrapped with full QA testing across devices and browsers, final adjustments based on feedback, and a smooth launch. Post-launch, they also provided training and support to help  manage the store with confidence.

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

First, the launch of a fully custom Shopify store resulted in a significant improvement in the overall user experience and brand presentation. The new design increased user engagement and time on site, thanks to the intuitive navigation, visually appealing layout, and responsive structure.

After launch, client saw a noticeable improvement in conversion rates due to the optimized product pages, clear call-to-actions, and streamlined checkout process. Additionally, the introduction of custom features like the “Wish list” page and “Drop a Hint” functionality added unique touchpoints that encouraged interaction and boosted customer interest.

Overall, the user experience on the site significantly improved, enhancing customer satisfaction and conversion rates.
