I am head of marketing in company which works in a field of decentralized applications. Our team develop dApps, consults and provides support of other dApp developers from technical and commercial side. I am dealing with marketing part.

We have a partnership with a third-party online game company and are providing some technical and marketing support for them. We were needed a promo video to spread the word about the game to new users

What were your goals for this project?

To get 10 and 30 sec high quality video with 3D effects, game lore and gameplay part.

Bambuk studio got in our shortlist as a professionals who was reccomended by our partners, they have a great portfolio as well. They made the best price-quality offer among other 3 companies we requested for an offer.

Describe the video(s) and the process in detail.

We gave them a story, What we want to see in general. Also we had some graphic materials to use in video production. Bambuk studio showed us an expert approach, they prepared a detailed plan of work.

During all production process we had 4-5 meetings with checkpoints discussions. We had some misunderstandings in animatic preparation so we got a little out of schedule. Overall process was built nicely, everything was clear.

What was your vendors' project management or feedback process?

We had our project manager in Bambuk studio. He was responsive and consistent all project long. Few times we had some delays with answers, looks like there was an overload in our vendor's process. Overall feedback was good, without special problems

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

Video was made perfectly, it gives a feeling of totally game engagement. Unfortunately we have some delays with our marketing campaign due to the technical issues, so this video will be published in the end of november 2019.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

Overall workflow was good, all our wishes were immediately taken into account. We had an option to use trello for process managing, but it was decided not to do this. Our offices are located in the same city and we had an option to communicate live.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

Bambuk team is very creative one, they have a great feeling what they need to do. This fusion of creativity and huge experience gives great result. You just need to give them info what audience you need to cover, product details and they will give you fantastic result

Are there any areas for improvement?

Guys need to work on their timing, cause we had some delays during the process that caused extension of project delivery deadlines and little budget growth

I worked as a Creative producer for Azerbaijani delegation at Eurovision Song Contest 2019. All the team of the Delegation was international: Azerbaijan, Ukraine, Denmark, Austria, Sweden, Cyprus, Germany. The preparation to the contest was held in January-May. The project was consisted from few stages: artist scouting, song scouting, song recording, artist image development, PR and marketing strategy, staging development, participation in Song Contest. The project was successful for the Delegation as Azerbaijan achieved 7th (top 10) place in the Contest.

The project itself is very challenging as all its stages are being done with hard deadlines. Promotional campaign for the Azerbaijani participant started from the presentation, created by Bambuk Studio. Their team offered a unique visual design style, which was used through over the project.

What were your goals for this project?

The main goal was to make sure that the artist’s fan base increases and getting through the Eurovision Final. To make all the artist's visuals recognisable and catchy.

SOLUTION

How did you select this vendor?

My team searched the design studios online and via recommendations. There was also held an internal tender. Within the week we received visual concepts from different companies. The creative approach from Bambuk Studio fulfilled our need best. The company started from doing the presentations and then followed creating cover for the song and all the online visuals for the project and the artist in particular style.

Once we selected Bambuk Studio we started our collaboration for the whole project. As we were located in different cities all the communication was done online. The contact person from the company was their Creative Director Oles Kucherenko, who literally became a part of our delegation as a creative consultant. He with his team learned all the details about the artist, song, staging, PR strategy and then came up with the visual ideas for the campaign. All the visuals were linked to the futuristic style of the project which made the participant and his entry in the Contest recognisable and increased the fan base. Bambuk Studio was very flexible with overtime work and provided all the materials before the deadline.

What was the team composition?

We were assigned two specialists to work on the project. As I already mentioned before Oles Kucherenko was our creative consultant same as he controlled the project flow within Bambuk Studio and made the final adjustments. Also we had a production manager who controlled the deadlines and the timing of the project. Behind these people there was a team of designers behind.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

Thanks to our collaboration with Bambuk Studio we achieved higher results than expected. Our goal was to make sure that the artist gets through the Eurovision Final. The participant achieved the TOP 10 place in the Final which didn't happen for Azerbaijani Delegation for the last 6 years.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

The communication with Bambuk Studio was very constructive and built on trust. The team is always willing to help and find the solution in any extremely burning situation.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

The creative potential and its realisation are enormous. Bambuk Studio would always come up with better ideas that you ever expected. The company provides very high quality services. I was blown up with their Ricker Lyman project. There is a stereotype that Eastern European companies provide no-winning content. I as a specialist, who worked with many international companies, would say that this stereotype fails here. The task was done perfectly and got great feedback from international community.

Are there any areas for improvement?

There is always no limit of perfection. However when it comes to deadlines and no specific vision from the Client except "Just make it beautiful" you would be left with more than perfect collaboration experience with Bambuk Studio. This actually happened to me and our whole delegation.

IT Weekend - is a series of our main conferences that we hold for 7 years in a row with more than 7 000 participants overall. The challenge was in refreshing our style, creation of a new website and merging 2 websites into one.

Our goals were to refresh style as part of the attraction of the visitors to the conference and merge 2 websites in one with not loosing of main goals and functionality.

Our team was searching for an agency in our area, then created a tender and suggested 5 agencies to participate. Bambuk convinced us by their ideas, process and deep design and technical expertise.

Once we selected a vendor and passed all documental part, we started with a couple of briefing sessions, then Bambuk suggested us a general idea and we agreed on references. After this, we moved to the functional part with a sitemap and functionality. In a month, we received the first mock-ups. The next presentation was after the feedback given, and on the third sprint, we came to the desired solution and release.

We had a project manager, web designer, backend developer, qa and art director who was also involved in the project.

As lots of conferences and events have the same look and functionality, together with Bambuk agency we created a website that differentiates us on the market of events.

There is always room for improvements but in general we were satisfied. Maybe deeper dive onto our business problem on each stage but thats something that depends on the project.

Usually, it was a single POC, who I communicated with, which was very convenient. There was a team of creative specialists managed by the POC.

All projects involving Bambuk’s creative contribution went live, were used in the field, and gained high appreciation among the stakeholders.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

Day-to-day communication was done via Skype calls and emails. Trello was a great way to handle project documentation and creative deliverables.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

The great atmosphere and flat company hierarchy led to high levels of creative output. The enduring spirit and positive attitude even in the most challenging situations, i.e., tough deadlines. Overall – great working culture.

Are there any areas for improvement?

Guys should be more realistic at setting up deadlines and at providing effort estimations.

We had two people working with us. Most of my contact was with the designer who served as a project manager as well. I am always impressed by his ability to be both an excellent strategist as well as amazing executionist.

We were aiming for three commercial contracts, that we pitched with the demos Bambuk designed. We got all three.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

Oles, the designer, and my main contact is extremely professional. I always come in the last minute, with a tight deadline. He always finds the time to have the first Skype call on the same day and starts immediately. We then talk every one/two days, when he has something to show me and needs feedback. His English is very good and he is very easy to communicate with. I'm always impressed by their ability to manage tight schedules, while still provides amazing service and outstanding outcomes.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

First of all, they always demonstrate amazing customer support and service. They are always there for me, no matter what I need and how fast I need it. Second, I'm always blown away with the outcome. They are doing an amazing job, starting from the strategy and brainstorming and up to the final design detail.

I look at them as my own design team, and I know that they would excel in whatever task I would give them. By now, I've recommended them to about 8 more startups. No doubt I would come back, and in fact, I have no desire to work with anyone else on any design-related gigs.

Are there any areas for improvement?

They don't always deliver on time, but to be fair, the deadlines I give them are almost impossible. It should be noted that when they are late, they always communicate it and it always because they dive extremely deep and want to make more corrections to perfect the design. They are very diligent in providing outstanding design.

We got a recommendation from our other vendor in the Ukraine. And we never regretted our decision to cooperate with Bambuk on a steady basis for over 4 years already.

The project was very important as it was to show our capabilities at the CES trade show in Las Vegas. We had a general idea what we want to see. and Bambuk came up with numerous design and implementation ideas for graphics, functionality, UI and UX.

The team was concise, and we were exposed just to the team manager. This was very convenient and efficient to have this one-stop person for all the questions and discussions.

The MoodCall app proved to be a great success in the trade show. Due to this launch campaign, we got lots of interest, but - what is more important - engagement of our target audience.

it was very easy to communicate via Skype. The project manager was always online and ready to jump on a call whenever needed. The deadline was met successfully as well.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

I was blown away by their creative thinking and vast knowledge of different graphic and marketing tools. They also have a great attitude about their job. Always can-do attitude and lots of flexibility.

What challenge were you trying to address with Bambuk Design Studio? 

We wanted to create a unique image for our company that conveyed an ideal of technology.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement? 

Bambuk Design Studio is developing our entire corporate image. We gave them a hard constraint of a particular emotion that we want to achieve. In terms of look and feel, we want a retro yet futuristic look. They did a conceptual design of the imagery for our company, and then they implemented that in a new website. They also produced a book that we published, brochures that we hand out at events, and a booth that we use at conferences. They even helped revise our logo. 

What is the team composition?

Viktor (Project Manager, Bambuk Design Studio) is our main point of contact. I don't know how many people work on the project. They keep our interaction to 2–3 people for continuity. 

How did you come to work with Bambuk Design Studio? 

They're based in Ukraine and we have a wholly-owned subsidiary in Lviv. They came highly-recommended through the president of that subsidiary. 

What is the status of this engagement?

Work started in 2017 and the engagement is ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

We get nothing but praise for their work. Bambuk Design Studio had posters made with brilliant illustrations. They went and found the artist that could achieve our objective. We're hooked on Bambuk Design Studio. We don't want to use anybody else so we have them on retainer.

People are always blown away by the brochures and business cards they designed. The brochure has a wonderful design to make them look like punch cards. People always grab our business cards because they’re so unique. Anything and everything that they designed for us gets a positive reaction when we hand it to a customer or prospect. Their work is awesome, and makes us look fantastic.

How did Bambuk Design Studio perform from a project management standpoint? 

Their team never misses a deadline or goes over budget. More important, Bambuk Design Studio always delivers exactly what they say will when they say it will be done. Viktor is awesome to work with. We tell him what we're trying to achieve and sends back an estimate of how long it's going to take.

If it’s a big project, we usually schedule it so I'm in Lviv and we can talk about it in person. That's maybe once a year. We kick off minor projects over Skype, and then use emails and chat. They also have access to our Jira. They use it to send sketches and we provide feedback. It works out quite well.

We knew our request wasn't easy. They go beyond my expectations. Bambuk Design Studio always comes up with a better way of doing a task than I could imagine. They continue to surprise me with their creativity.

No, I don't think so. They do everything we ask them to do.

Tell them what you're trying to achieve but not how to achieve it. Don't constrain them. Unleash them and their creativity, and they'll blow you away.
