**The Review** — Nov 21, 2022

**Feedback Summary**: Avenga consistently delivers high-quality solutions, much to the satisfaction of internal stakeholders. The team excels in project management by adjusting to the client’s needs, and their expertise and hard work make them stand out from their competitors.
""They're very open to feedback, which makes them a robust partner for our organization.""

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m the program manager at Fidelity International, a financial services company.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with Avenga?

We needed help optimizing our cloud sales.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?

Avenga provides us with cloud consultation and resources we lack within our team. They help us build a number of cloud solutions to help us onboard strategic data we can implement into our data lake platform.

We start by presenting our requirements to them and giving them an overview of the new data we're looking to onboard.

We then come up with a design solution which usually involves understanding how the data will be set, how often it'll be updated, and how it'll be consumed once onboarded.

Moreover, they provide off-site support and utilize AWS, Snowflake, Bitbucket, and NiFi to build custom solutions and troubleshooting support.

What is the team composition?

We work with a senior AWS engineer, junior AWS engineer, and DevOps engineer.

How did you come to work with Avenga?

I joined a year after they engaged with our company.

How much have you invested with them?

We've invested over $500,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

Our ongoing partnership started in August 2020.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

They deliver their solutions successfully, and the data is onboarded and consumed by the relevant internal stakeholders — they also provide documentation we hand over to other support teams.

How did Avenga perform from a project management standpoint?

They do a fantastic job managing the entire project. They're well-versed with the AGILE methodology and accustomed to creating tasks on JIRA.

They also attend daily standup calls, provide regular updates, and consistently adhere to our established timelines. We typically use Microsoft Teams, Zoom, and Confluence for communications.

What did you find most impressive about them?

We're impressed with their knowledge, work ethic, and punctuality. They're also very good when it comes to conducting knowledge transfer sessions before completing each project.

Are there any areas they could improve?

I can't think of anything they need to improve on because we have experienced any problems working with them. They're very open to feedback, which makes them a robust partner for our organization.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Make sure to provide them with enough information about the project and what you want to achieve, to get the most out of your engagement.

CTO, Radium Capital

- Client size: 11-50 Employees
- Review Type: Online Review
- Verified

**The Review** — Sep 28, 2022

**Feedback Summary**: Avenga has delivered the outputs on time and within budget. They've also enabled the client to deprovision their unstable loan collection management system. Moreover, the client feels like Avenga is part of their team. The vendor is engaged, focused on the outcomes, and finds new ways to save costs.
""Avenga really makes it feel like you are working with an existing internal team.""

**BACKGROUND**
Please describe your company and your position there.

Radium Capital provides Research and Development Loan funding to businesses in Australia and New Zealand. We provide loans up to $10 million. As the CTO I provide ongoing strategic platform guidance to the business to ensure our customers can do business easily and without concern for their data safety.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
For what projects/services did your company hire Avenga, and what were your goals?

We use Avenga's services to provide us with project management, technology advisory and Salesforce development. Our goals are to continue to provide customers and internal users with functionality that improves their daily workflows and operational needs.

**SOLUTION**
How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

Avenga is well placed with regards to time zones, has excellent references from other clients, and I have used them previously for non-Salesforce related projects. Choosing Avenga was critical to our speed of implementation requirements and quality of service requirements.

Describe the scope of work in detail, including the project steps, key deliverables, and technologies used.

They designed a Salesforce based solution to provide loan funds collection management using tried and tested ideation, discovery, and delivery methodologies. Avenga used our existing project management solution - Jira - and delivered the source code for their work directly to our Salesforce development and production environments. Avenga continue to provide insights to manage our Salesforce instance and are now working with our entire group of companies.

How many people from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?

There were 5 people in the core team - their roles included:

Solution architect
	Scrum master
	Senior and Junior Developers
	QA Specialists
	User Experience Practitioners

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

We were able to plan the deprovisioning of our existing Loan Collection Management system which was unstable and had too many manual processes. Avenga always delivered on time and to budget.

Describe their project management style, including communication tools and timeliness.

The way Avenga were engaged by us made it feel as though they were simply an extension of our own team - they understood the business, were focussed on outcomes as much as we were, and they were not simply trying to find new ways to uncover revenue for themselves -- instead focussing on delivering cost savings to Radium Capital.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

Avenga really makes it feel like you are working with an existing internal team.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

None that come to mind

CTO, Fintech Company
- Industry: Financial services

- Client size: 51-200 Employees
- Review Type: Phone Interview
- Verified

**The Review** — Jul 15, 2022

**Feedback Summary**: The client is satisfied with Avenga’s high-quality work and performance. They’ve been in charge of three major rollouts and dozens of minor ones, and they’ve succeeded at all of them. They lead the project management seamlessly and stand out for their experienced and skilled resources.
"“Their bench is full of experts; they provide a service we couldn’t get anywhere else.”"

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m the CTO of a fintech company that operates in the accounts receivable, supply chain, and other B2B financing products.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with Avenga?

We had a complex platform that needed to be completely re-architected. It was built inside the Salesforce portal as a PaaS (platform as a service), so we needed a specific skill set.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?

Avenga provides custom software development services. They’ve developed an application using the Salesforce platform. It’s an internal-facing application with some components that face external users, and they’ve revamped the existing system.

Initially, we developed the requirements and new architecture. We’ve used many of the Salesforce-provided functions. Avenga has done a bit of coding, but we’ve also used declarative automation, customer customization, better metadata, and so on. All in all, the project has lots of complications and a very complex workflow.

What is the team composition?

We just have one Salesforce developer.

How did you come to work with Avenga?

They were a referral. The Salesforce environment required a broad and deep knowledge of the industry and our application, and Avenga was the only resource we could find.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working together in July 2020, and our partnership is ongoing.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We’ve done three major and dozens of minor rollouts, all of which have been successful.

How did Avenga perform from a project management standpoint?

They use our project management tools, and we mainly communicate through Teams.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Their resources and talents are outstanding. Their bench is full of experts; they provide a service we couldn’t get anywhere else.

Are there any areas they could improve?

No, their business continuity plans are flawless. It would’ve been reasonable if their service was impacted due to the Russian Invasion of Ukraine, but there hasn’t been an interruption.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Trust their experts. Their team is highly qualified, and you should trust their advice.

**The Review** — May 9, 2022

**Feedback Summary**: Avenga can ramp up their team quickly and manages team turnover very well. They invest in their team to ensure they deliver for their client — they relocated teammates to Poland during the Russian Invasion of Ukraine. They work in agile methodologies and the partners communicate daily.

**BACKGROUND**
Please describe your company and your position there.

I'm the VP Quality Engineering and Release Management

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
For what projects/services did your company hire Avenga?

Avenga is one of our partners helping us implement our product's roadmap as a team's capacity extension .

**SOLUTION**
How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

We started our partnership in April last year, with only a few resources.

Describe the project in detail and walk through the stages of the project.

Following our first experience, with quite good feedback from teams such as; qualified developers and testers, good soft skills in terms of communication and engagement. Since we never stopped expanding our collaboration, currently we do have 22 HCs.

How many resources from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?

22 HCs, Daily contact with all team members, and with the Account Manager

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

We do particularly appreciate their reactivity to ramp up, also their ability to manage the turnover when this happens ; a notice in advance, with overlapping periods of time, and a minimum of team velocity impact. Most of the resources are based in Ukraine, after the recent events, they relocated few members to Poland, and they are still seeking to build a shadow team in Poland. This looks like a challenge for them since the Polish market is also impacted and under pressure. They do care really well about their people, which is really key in their engagement to get them motivated and productive for their customers.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

Daily collaboration as they are pat of the same Agile teams

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

In conclusion, I do really recommend Avenge as a partner you can rely on. The main challenge is with Ukrainian ressources location, which is in a war zone unfortunately, with the risk associated with that. Hope this is useful for your consideration.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

Relocation challenges they are facing while requested to relocate ressources from Ukraine following recent events

- Review Type: Online Review

**The Review** — Apr 12, 2022

**Feedback Summary**: The new platform Avenga (formerly IncluIT) redesigned improved the client's agility in delivering services in a short time frame. The insurance company's customers also expressed their positive feedback, recognizing the improvement in usability and the effectiveness of the new features. Overall, they were satisfied.
""Avenga (formerly IncluIT) promoted the inclusion and evolution of agility in IT projects, which had been difficult to implement.""

**BACKGROUND**
Please describe your company and your position there.Grupo Sancor Seguros has been in the market for 76 years and is an economic group that manages 27 companies in Argentina, Brazil, Uruguay, and Paraguay. In our main operation in Argentina, we have been the most important insurance company in the country for several years, being in 1st place in the production ranking as well as having the recognition of our commercial network as being the best insurance company in the country in terms of solvency, transparency, and honesty. We operate in all branches of property insurance, people, health, and work risks. We have a digital bank called Banco del Sol and many other companies.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
For what projects/services did your company hire IncluIT, and what were your goals? The largest company in the Sancor Seguros Group, which contributes approximately 53% of insurance premiums, is called Prevention ART. It is the main ART in Argentina with a market share of 20% of the market, double that of those who support us in the ranking. For many years, ART has been a pioneer in the relationship with clients and companies through self-management. The said self-management is more than 10 years old and required an update and complete restyling.Since it is one of the critical mission systems for ART, we needed to go through a very challenging process with a strategic partner that can accompany us, understand us, comply and add value from technology and industry knowledge. Moreover, the partner should adapt to our needs, and accompany us on a new path, showing us the way through empathy and permanent dialogue. They should also be willing to continue to accompany us in the future.

**SOLUTION**
How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors? After an extensive decision process, wherein the main national and international technology providers participated, where much of our responsibility was to understand the dimension of the solution that we wanted to develop, we decided on IncluIT for many reasons that were key factors:They did not come to sell us professional services and then understand the problem, but rather they came to listen to us, to understand our needs, also to listen to the inconsistencies that they showed us with great patience and respect to rethink. They proposed us a work methodology in total coherence with our needs, which despite being disruptive for us, they dedicated the necessary time to show us that it would be the one that best suits our needs and the best to deliver the results we expected. They were always very present, and open to co-create with us.They presented a team of professionals who were able to attend to each query from all of our internal IT specialists, and convey confidence in each layer of the solution that required specific knowledge and experience. The honesty and total transparency allowed us to build trust and links that could transcend beyond this solution and consider them long-term partners.Describe the scope of work in detail, including the project steps, key deliverables, and technologies used. The scope was the end-to-end redesign of the ART Prevention self-management used by Clients and their different roles with different needs within a company, for example: Employer, HR Department, Occupational Physician, Administration. Also the insurance intermediary and internal resources of the company.IncluIT brought a very important concept that was installed within the company and today it continues to deepen at the organizational level, which is the ONE TEAM. This configuration allowed us to grow in a process of technical and functional integration between IT and the various business partners, increasing agility, achieving safe and quality evolutionary deliveries in the short term, and providing us with strong added value.IncluIT covered all the stages of the Design and Development process. Starting with the creation of a solution that meets the needs of the business, designing the experience of the different users (user research, interaction design, information architecture, flow design, user experience development, ux validation, etc. ), prototyping and validation, cover security layers, middleware, component development, integration, testing, UAT, project management, agility coaching, and team building. All the dimensions that allowed us to create a high-quality product for ourselves and for the user, meet deadlines and make successful deliveries allowed us to make a leap in quality in customer service. How many people from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions? On the part of the supplier, more than 20 people worked on average. The staff was growing depending on the stage of the project. On behalf of ART Prevention, some 10 people were also directly participating, and partially more than 20 gave support to each need of the project.Additionally, due to the relevance of the project, all ART and technology managers were always present, closely following the project and actively participating.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables? We achieved the successful delivery of a product that accompanies the ART process, contributing and experiencing the One Team concept together. Adding value to the product, through the development of a secure application, with a renewed user experience. During this process, we grew in agility to achieve quality evolutionary deliverables in the short term. From the point of view of results and feedback, our clients expressly recognized the improvement of the tool both in usability and in new star features that emerged from research with users, which allowed them to manage much more efficiently obtaining information, self-management without the need for telephone communication or writing an email and waiting for a person's response. This had a direct impact on greater satisfaction, and a reduction in response times, calls, and emails resulting in a reduction in the internal cost of operation and customer service.Describe their project management style, including communication tools and timeliness. The management style was one of the main characteristics of this project.IncluIT promoted the inclusion and evolution of agility in IT projects, which had been difficult to implement. It brought an adoption and coaching model that we call ONE TEAM that allowed us to adopt it painlessly, quickly see the benefits, reduce friction, make decisions faster, include key people at the conversation table, be agile in decisions, in the communication, analysis, and product delivery. The IncluIT people who were in charge of the project were decisive for the success of this solution, which was not only a technical solution, but also a network of human relationships that had to be aligned to create value and think of a solution that would create value for our clients, and for that IncluIT made the difference. What did you find most impressive or unique about this company? The project management, the issue management, the way to generate internal dialogues to make decisions, the way in which he introduced us to agility and showed us the way to implement it during the project and without great pain and the spirit of collaboration to co-create solutions that add value. Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently? At the beginning of the project, we realized that it is better to make prototypes including UX to avoid future changes. We quickly adopted it and it greatly improved the process. The members of the project have priority in the project and the rest of their activities are secondary. We managed to handle it with internal difficulties but we took care of it.Activate and deactivate PO (key user) (sector referents) so that they can make quick decisions.Recording each change request, no matter how small, was a process that we included to give visibility to the work of the development team and increase the scope.Participate in Information Security in all progress meetings and keep the thread.Have a help desk available ready for the exit of the project and apply Change Management techniques to make it effective. The architecture issues must be defined in advance, the internal architecture team must be at the table from the beginning even if they do not consider it.

Perfectial was selected via our CEO. Major deciding factors for us was availability, communication and costs. All we're met with Perfectial at the time of setting up the partnership.

Describe the scope of work in detail, including the project steps, key deliverables, and technologies used.

Perfectial helped us begin the process of building our code, as well as creating the UX and UI for our mvp. Project steps were based on the desired functionality of the platform. Some engineers even went beyond this to help us with other issues we incurred along the way. Technologies that we integrated to help achieve the aim of our website we're twilio, pubnub, stripe etc.

The maximum number of team members that we worked with were 3 people. One senior engineer, one engineer and a senior ux designer.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**

We almost completed the mvp for our website on the development side. UX was completely finished by the end of our time with Perfectial.

Describe their project management style, including communication tools and timeliness.

The project management was really great. We really appreciated their ability to be so flexible. On a daily basis, the team communicated over teams and slack. Tasks were delegated through platforms such as trello and github.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

What I found the most impressive was their devotion to making sure our needs we're met. They understood our demands, and tried their upmost to fulfill these. They we're also super communicative, easy to reach at all times and had a positive attitude through out the whole project.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

The quality of the work achieved by their team was great and we are extremely happy with them. The only recommendation I have, is to create a better process to onboard using testing (our requirement). That being said, I could tell they really tried their absolute best to bring in top talent for us whilst using this method.

Sr Director of Revenue, Media Software Company

- Review Type: Phone Interview

**The Review** — Nov 2, 2021

**Feedback Summary**: The leadership at the client's company is very pleased with the video player's high-quality codebase and architecture. Avenga (formerly Clearcode) was able to turn around requests quickly and the entire project process was transparent — they had a shared Jira board and weekly collaborative meetings.
""We tracked project progress very well across the entire duration of the project.""

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.I am the senior director of revenue operations for a media software company that builds software to help television stations with traditional and digital broadcasting. I work in the division responsible for digital television distribution.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with Clearcode? One of our digital products is a video player. Like any other technology, our software can integrate with third-party solutions, but we also offer our own video player. When we provide our video player, we can ensure that our systems all work together, but with third-party systems, sometimes issues occur.  We work with publishing partners with their own video players, but some don't and look to us for suggestions. However, our video player product needed some upgrades — we needed a partner to rebuild the product who understood digital advertising technology.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?Clearcode completely rebuilt our video player system from the ground up. We worked on it internally for a while, but it had never been a major focus. The video player is more of an auxiliary service we offer, and it has been on the same codebase for a long time. We provided Clearcode with a full project proposal that outlined what we wanted the player to do, how it needed to work, and the program intricacies so it could connect with our core platform. They came back to us with a rough outline of the timeline, costs, and resource allocation. They then built the video player and included the features we wanted. Since initial completion, the Clearcode team has done a few maintenance updates. What is the team composition? We consistently worked with 4–5 teammates, and over the entire project, we connected with about 10 teammates. One teammate managed the business relationship and there was also a centralized project manager, a few engineers, and QA teammates. How did you come to work with Clearcode? One of the senior executives on our team did due diligence on a lot of different firms — they shopped around for a vendor that had the right knowledge set we were looking for, could put together good work and had a competitive price. From there, Clearcode was recommended to our team. After our first two interactions we were pleased with the project's direction, so we stayed with them. What is the status of this engagement? We worked with Clearcode from March–September 2021.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? There aren't any specific metrics at this point. We're still rolling out a couple of features to our partners and haven't been able to measure their impact yet. However, we've been very happy with the quality of the work — our CTO is impressed with the quality of the codebase and the way it was architected. How did Clearcode perform from a project management standpoint?Their team approaches challenges well. The collaboration between us was great, and turnarounds were very quick — we'd get about five codebase updates in a given week. As part of the QA process, Clearcode built a testing and QA site where they would update all changes made for each subversion of the codebase — that allowed my team to easily track what was being done and its impact. We also shared a Jira board. At any given time, we knew precisely what the Clearcode team was working on, their priorities, and when items were going to be delivered — we tracked project progress very well across the entire duration of the project. We had a weekly status call where they provided us with updates and pulled us into particular aspects of the project to collaborate on. When we did collaborate over the phone, the solution would be implemented by the next meeting, and we'd be able to see the results. What did you find most impressive about them?Other firms often don't communicate as much as Clearcode did, they'll go dark and a client will get an update every month or so. But Clearcode was great at communicating and updated us regularly. Their quality of work was really great as well. If we decide to do any enhancements to the codebase, we're happy to go back and work with Clearcode again. Are there any areas they could improve?I would have liked it if they'd been more upfront and communicative about the billing process. We worked on an hourly basis, and there wasn't a great way to track how large are tab was growing until the end of each month. They need a better communication process there. Do you have any advice for potential customers?Clients need to ensure that they have a consistent engineering resource throughout the process. Their company is structured so that they constantly shift engineers around, which can be difficult because then clients are working with someone new who hasn't worked with the project before. However, Clearcode does do a good job onboarding new resources, but it's never quite the same as working with one person who has been on a project from the beginning.

They hold weekly check-ins on products, delivery, and performance. Moreover, their keenness in providing talents and effective solutions stands out.
""We've never encountered a problem in bringing additional people with new skillsets on demand.""

**BACKGROUND**
Please describe your company and your position there.

We are a world leader in the Arts sector, based in London, UK. I head up the Digital Products team, responsible for all digital touchpoints with our global audiences.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
For what projects/services did your company hire Perfectial, and what were your goals?

We wanted to augment our in house team with an additional team of software engineers, quality assurance, delivery managers and designers. Initially we engaged with Perfectial on a small part of our digital offering to deliver a discrete piece of work. The relationship grew organically from there.

**SOLUTION**
How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

We looked at a number of vendors, eventually shortlisting four based on their responses to our RFP. We ranked them on a number of standard factors including technical skills and design capabilities.

Describe the scope of work in detail, including the project steps, key deliverables, and technologies used.

The Perfectial team augment our in house team, aligning with our ways of working, led by our people. We try to work on products, rather than projects, so the team shift focus according to our needs across our suite of products. They are able to offer candidates to suit all of our needs but our tech stack largely consists of JavaScript (in various flavours) right now.

How many people from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?

We have a standing team which consists of a mixture of junior, midweight and senior developers (some fullstack), QAs, a delivery manager and a UX designer. Occasionally this flexes up or down, based on our needs.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

The deliverables are consistently to a high standard. The team's excellent support has helped us build our credentials internally with our stakeholders.

Describe their project management style, including communication tools and timeliness.

The team aligned with our existing ways of working, which was perfect. They also run their own internal stand-ups to make sure they are aligned and feel part of the wider Perfectial community. We use Slack and Jira as our standard toolset, with Teams for video calls within the product teams day to day. The combination works well. We also have weekly checkpoints with our project/delivery/account manager for service checks and general engagement.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

Their talent identification and onboarding. We've never encountered a problem in bringing additional people with new skillsets on demand. They're also keen to push their internal talent pipeline and are always looking at effective ways to bring junior staff onboard.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

They're a terrific partner but as the relationship grows we'll expect to see more technical and thought leadership.

**The Review** — Jun 25, 2021

**Feedback Summary**: The product was developed according to the client’s requirements, and user feedback was overwhelmingly positive. Overall, the Avenga (formerly Clearcode) team leveraged their expertise in the company’s business domain to provide great value. Their communication and innovation skills were also highly commended.
"“Their team members were highly knowledgeable in our domain and technologies, so our overall experience was positive.” "

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there. We’re an advertising technology company that provides a few products in the ad tech space. Our primary product is an order management system for publishers to manage their online ads and sales operations.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with Clearcode?Clearcode helped us develop a new supply-side platform (SSP) product. We didn’t have deep in-house expertise in our business domain, so we needed Clearcode to provide that knowledge and fill in the gap for us.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement? When we first engaged with them, we talked about what we wanted to do at a high level. Our team figured out that they had the expertise to help us, and the project was right in their wheelhouse. As a result, our product manager and I flew to meet with their team in person. Together, we went into deeper detail about the new system’s requirements and our development expectations. After that, they embarked on developing the product, and we worked with them for almost a year and a half until we finished building it. In terms of tech stacks, the platform was built on Microsoft Azure, and its programming language was Node.js. It also used various Azure resources such as Azure Storage, Azure Data Bricks, and Kubernetes services. What is the team composition? We mainly worked with Filip (IT Project Manager). We were also in contact with their broader team as needed throughout the course of the sprints. How did you come to work with Clearcode? We found an article that Clearcode wrote, and it described how they implemented a product that was similar to what we wanted to create. Our team thought they were a good fit and that they clearly already had the expertise in our business domain, so we went for them. How much have you invested with them?We spent about $250,000. What is the status of this engagement? Our engagement lasted from February 2020–May 2021.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? Anecdotally, the Clearcode team was able to develop the product as we wanted it and to provide expertise around our business domain and solution. As a result, it was a great experience working with them. Their team members were highly knowledgeable in our domain and technologies, so our overall experience was positive. At present, we’re in the process of launching this new product. Our team has also been showing the product around to prospective partners and customers. So far, the feedback has been overwhelmingly positive; our partners and publishers have expressed the belief that they can get good value out of the product. How did Clearcode perform from a project management standpoint? We met with Filip once a week and with the whole team once every two weeks for sprint demos. We also used a few tools to facilitate communication between our teams. For ad hoc conversations, we used Slack pretty heavily. The emails and the project itself were tracked on Jira, and they were documented in Confluence. Overall, Clearcode was a great team, and their communication and innovation skills were good. What did you find most impressive about them?Clearcode had the expertise on the platform that we wanted to develop. On top of that, they had deep experience in the ad tech stack that we targeted, enabling them to provide a lot of value in that area. We also worked with other outsourcing partners, but those firms didn’t have the experience we needed in the business domain. Are there any areas they could improve? No, there weren’t any.Do you have any advice for potential customers?Do what we did: dig into the details of the project at the beginning and make sure the team is up to speed with the requirements of the application. Apart from that, keep in frequent contact and work out any issues that come up.

**Feedback Summary**: As of now, the system is in production and works well. Avenga (formerly Perfectial) follows an agile methodology and continues to add functionalities to the platform. Moreover, their project management style is great. They communicated promptly.
""The personalities of all team members are friendly with a shared desire for success."
"

**BACKGROUND**
Please describe your company and your position there.

I am a Sr product Manager for Mirantis. Mirantis provides enterprise grade Cloud Native Platform providing Container and Virtual Machine platforms built on Open Source technologies such as Kubernetes and openStack.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
For what projects/services did your company hire Perfectial, and what were your goals?

We needed a Big Data savvy partner to help design and implement a multi facited project which captures valuable product usage insights for internal consumption as well as the architecture required to support usage based billing.

**SOLUTION**
How did you select Perfectial and what were the deciding factors?

They were required to submit a proposal with initial architectures from a SOW and use case based requirements. Constrains were that the system must be built purely with Open Source components and be horizontally scalable.

Perfectial proposed a data ingestion pipeline, feeding a data lake with processing via Spark to populate a reporting DB that supplied telemetry to a web portal front end. They were chosen based on their proposal, which fit our notion of how we wanted the solution to look, as well as competitive pricing.

Their expertise in this area was also a strong contributing factor to their selection.

Describe the scope of work in detail, including the project steps, key deliverables, and technologies used.

They designed and developed the system, working with Mirantis Product experts based on the initial design from the proposal. Additional requirements were communicated with design reviews prior to the start of incremental implementation.

They also researched and selected the Azure cloud using Deltalake as the data lake and Azure's Kafka compatible ingestion layer and Spark offering, as well as the Time Series DB and web =server infrastructure,

How many people from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?

Team of 6:

Big Data Architect
	Spark developers
	DevOps engineer
	Web Portal developer
	QA Automation engineer
	Project Manager

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

The system is in production today, working well. Agile development continuously adds capability to the platform.

Describe their project management style, including communication tools and timelines.

Very good, PM handles most Jira management, team dynamics, monthly team work summaries. Communication was via Slack, Google hangouts, email. All communications were done in timely manner. For example when a key team member decided to leave they immediately informed us with a transition plan to a new hire.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

They are easy to work with, stemming from core competence in the projects main area, good project management, and perhaps above all - they are easy to work with. The personalities of all team members are friendly with a shared desire for success.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

None

**Feedback Summary**: The staff that has been provided by Avenga (formerly Perfectial) continue to take on significant IT roles in the company, being an official part of their team. The team is dedicated to supporting the client in their journey of achieving business milestones. All members are commended for their integrity and expertise.
""We have evolved as trust was built, and the team has started making an impact in other areas."
"

**BACKGROUND**
Please describe your company and your position there.

I am the VP of Product and Engineering at Klara. I manage a team of 40 including Product, Design, Engineering, DevOps/SRE. We are a SAAS service that aims to improve communication between a doctor and a patient.

We are founded in Berlin, but our target market is 100% US based. We are funded by Google Gradient, FristCressey Ventures and Firstmark

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
For what projects/services did your company hire Perfectial?

We originally hired a team of 5 people to take on our EHR integration challenges. The intent was to build a team that would focus exclusively on integrating with these health systems

What were your goals for this project?

We started the project with the intent to build a team for the long-term. My business goal was to establish a staff-aug partner to assist our staffing efforts and provide additional options and flexibility for us as a company for engineering talent.

On the technical side, the goals were to build out an integration roughly every 3 mo.

**SOLUTION**
How did you select Perfectial?

I did a vendor selection process. I had worked with Perfectial before, but only a small project. I narrowed this down to 3 companies.

At this point it came down to who could provide the candidates fastest that would pass our interview screen. Perfectial won this.

Describe the project in detail.

The project was mostly backend work in Ruby. the engineers h ad to learn proprietary apis from EHR companies like Athena, Allscripts etc. They had to learn the FHIR standard.

They build an initial integration (Nextech) and then followed up with one pretty much every quarter thereafter....

Since then, we've introduced partner apis and other integrations to this team and expanded their scope. Our stack was Ruby/PostGres with React front end. All webbased

What was the team composition?

1 project manager 4 backend engineers. (2 Sr, 2 intermediate) we now are at 1 project manager 1 TL 5 Sr 3 Intermediate 2 QA

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

Today, this team is fully integrated into our business, and every day they play a key role in the Klara team.

They have subject matter expertise and component ownership over a critical piece of our software: 5+ successful EHR Integrations have been key to this team’s success and Klara’s success.

Each one has been a revenue driver for us. Additionally, during this time, we’ve only lost one engineer (who actually decided to return to our team during COVID). This team also supports requests from our most strategic and important customers.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

The team is fully integrated now. From a workflow perspective, they act like any engineer on our team and you wouldn't know they are part of Perfectial unless you asked them Early on, we had a separate track for them and a dedicated Product manager.

We had the Lviv team and the Berlin team and there was a clear separation with regard to meetings etc....We have evolved as trust was built, and the team has started making an impact in other areas.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

Our project manager. She is totally totally awesome. Team cohesion. I think their team has a very positive attitude Support on business issues...like HIPAA compliance and security reviews

Are there any areas for improvement?

not really

**The Review** — Oct 5, 2020

**Feedback Summary**: Avenga pulled together qualified and reliable engineers, providing a diverse pool of experts for the project. They’re all engaged, communicative, and transparent as well. Overall, the client is very pleased with the team’s work and their partnership with Avenga.
"“We have found some really good people through Avenga; we now have some awesome people working on our account."
"

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.

I am responsible for global delivery and software engineering taking place outside of our local markets. I am also the managing director of our Polish entity where we have an engineering center.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with Avenga?

They helped augment our staff.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?

Avenga found candidates to support our IT projects in Poland. We needed .NET and Java developers to support one side of our business. We also are looking at Microsoft Dynamics because we are building several solutions on Microsoft Dynamics in finance and operations, and also business central.

Avenga compiled profiles of candidates with either a general engineering background or more specific, niche expertise for us to consider.

We also use their consulting services and asked for technological advice on products that we are rolling out internally.

What is the team composition?

We have about 20 people on contract right now.

How did you come to work with Avenga?

We found them through recommendations.

How much have you invested in them?

We spend around $1.5 million per year (approximately $3 million in total).

What is the status of this engagement?

The first contract was from in February 2018.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We have found some really good people through Avenga; we now have some awesome people working on our account.

Overall, we're very happy with the collaboration with Avenga. There were two people that we had to get rid of and one person found another job. Apart from that, we retain more than 96% of the people they send us.  They hit the mark and are able to find the right consultant for us.

How did Avenga perform from a project management standpoint?

It has been very good. The people we have had the pleasure of working with have all been very engaged. They've been very good at communicating, and have been open and transparent about various challenges.

They are very attentive, honest, and transparent which were all important factors at the beginning of our engagement.

What did you find most impressive about them?

We work with a lot of talented people and it is also a pleasure to see that a lot of females are sitting in higher management positions in Avenga. I think it sends an awesome message to the whole of IT because there are a lot of men in IT. I couldn’t be happier with the performance of the developers and engineers that are female.

I think it sends a strong message to everyone. Avenga does not only talk the talk about equal opportunity they also walk the walk which is super important for us. In our engineering center, we might not reach 50/50 men and women tomorrow. However, we are working hard to be an attractive workplace for girls in IT and it's essential that our strategic partners align with us strategically as we are rapidly growing the female ratio of our IT talent. Avenga is leading the way in this aspect.

Are there any areas they could improve?

One of our other partners has a pretty fantastic online administration system that we wish Avenga would use. The tool lets them manage all the consultants that we have on contract with them, view the data regarding their rates, and monitor the expiry of the contract. Everything can be called out electronically from this portal.

When we ask, they will send all that information to us and it doesn’t take very long. Still, I believe in self-service so if I can log in to a portal a see all of that, then I don’t have to disturb anyone on the team.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Be absolutely transparent about your needs, what kind of success factors you have, and the type of candidates you are looking for. Transparency will help them deliver what you want.

**The Review** — Sep 3, 2020

**Feedback Summary**: Avenga provided access to highly qualified subject matter experts in a variety of areas, from information security to test automation and web analytics. Although their internal coordination could’ve been better, they excelled at leading scrum ceremonies and professionally executing sprint reviews.
"“They had a number of people who were really subject matter experts in very specific areas.”
"

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.

I work at a large multinational industrial company with operations in more than 100 countries. We have around 110,000 employees. I work as part of the communications department, and I’m responsible for our websites, including our public website as well as our corporate intranet.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with Avenga?

We used Avenga as experts to develop our website and then the intranet.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?

Initially, we used them under more of a staff augmentation model. We had people from Avenga who worked for us as contractors, so they worked for us as if they were our own employees. The resources we employed from them were mostly from the developer side, but also UX designers and other technical subject matter experts.

They took care of the maintenance of the web platform from a technical point of view. That entailed developing new features for the website, which ranged from conceptual and UX design to technical implementation. They also did testing and were responsible for keeping the website up and running.

The CMS we use is Sitefinity, which is based on Microsoft .NET. Most of the competencies on the technical side were on Microsoft .NET. We also have some smaller WordPress websites, so they provided developers with WordPress competencies.

What is the team composition?

We worked with an average of 30 people; it varied a bit, depending on the phases of the project. We set up the team so that we had a number of product owners onsite at our company headquarters, and then their counterparts were at Avenga’s site. The team members offsite acted as both scrum masters as well as application managers, so in addition to running the daily scrum, they also oversaw the products or software that they were developing.

We also interacted with the functional analysts on their side, as well as UX designers. We didn’t interact directly with the rest of the people on their team.

How did you come to work with Avenga?

We have a very long history with them. We originally started working with them because our company had a strategic setup where we were using internal resources based in Poland for some of our IT projects. Then, we decided to outsource. Many of those internal employees formed a company called Solid Brain, which was acquired by Avenga.

What is the status of this engagement?

Our work together began around late 2015, and the project finished in June 2020.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

They had a number of people who were really subject matter experts in very specific areas, like information security, test automation, or web analytics. If we needed support in an area for which they had an expert within their company, the expertise was really good. On the negative side, they sometimes didn’t necessarily have all of the competencies and expertise, so for some other areas, we’d have to pull the expertise from elsewhere.

How did Avenga perform from a project management standpoint?

Project management was generally okay. We used the scrum methodology. I think communication could’ve been a bit bitter. They were a bit weak in terms of internal collaboration, but that could’ve had to do with our model, through which we were hiring people from them to then work for us like they were part of our team. A problem was that they weren’t very good at communicating with other parts of their own company; for instance, if there was a particular challenge where we were looking for specific expertise, they weren’t very proactive about finding that expert within their own company. We’d have to go to the account manager.

Some of the subject matter experts were really good, but they were like isolated hero characters, whereas the average person that we worked with wasn’t that strong. When we were dealing with a subject matter expert, we got exactly what we wanted from them. However, some of their team members weren’t able to work as a team. The coordination didn’t always work out very well.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They were pretty good at running some of the scrum ceremonies, such as sprint reviews. During the reviews, they demonstrated the work they’d done over the previous two weeks. I thought those were usually professionally executed, especially compared to some other companies we’ve dealt with.

Are there any areas they could improve?

When we worked with one of the individuals on their side, that usually worked really well. However, as soon as that individual needed to involve other people from their company, it didn’t work as well.

Any advice for potential customers?

You have to know pretty precisely what you want and be able to specify that upfront. They do have some people who are best-in-class in their specific areas, but it’s important that you know to ask for specific competencies; you can’t just expect that you will get the best people by default. It also helps to know their organization and the references of their resources, so that you can pick the best people that they can provide.

**Feedback Summary**: Avenga facilitates a thorough preselection process to ensure they’re providing high-quality resources that fit the needs of the client. They supplement a long-term partnership by working quickly and proposing beneficial solutions. Diligent and honest, the team communicates seamlessly.
"“Avenga has become one of our trusted service providers.”
"

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.

We’re an IT provider for a group of companies. We’re active across the globe and have about 500 tech employees in Austria. We provide software solutions and services to the group’s different organizational entities. In Austria, we’re developing a software system that provides all of the critical business processes for any type of insurance company. The system has been developed for nearly two decades, and it serves as a strategic solution for the entire group.

In Vienna, we have three different delivery centers. One provides the core solution, a generic version of the system that is adapted by different optimization units to the specific needs of our end-customer. I am involved in one of these customization departments, so I’m adding the delivery and cross-functional teams for our end-customer, a partner of the group. We are taking over the system’s core and are developing it, customizing it, and changing some requirements and features to enable the system to work for the end-customer, a global organization focused on travel, event, and device insurance as well as assistance services.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with Avenga?

We have a high demand for external contributors. We’re always looking to fill specific positions — sometimes on a temporary basis — for experts in various areas, such as business analysts, developers, testers, test managers, and specific specialty positions. Since we’re growing very fast, we have to react very flexibly to the demands of our end-customers.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?

Avenga has become one of our trusted service providers. They regularly work with us to fill the expert positions we have open. They work with us in the same way as our internal employees: they’re part of the team and contribute like all of the other team members. We have two separate streams of development for the different needs of our customers. We have teams that work on the travel insurance side and on the assistance business. However, they both work on the same code base.

Our teams consist of both internal and external contractual partners that work closely with our product owners. Our product owners come from our customer audience partners and define the requirements for the teams. We’re currently working toward three major releases of our system per year. We work in two-week sprints, and we have intermediate, bi-weekly minor releases for the customer as well.

What is the team composition?

I’m responsible for staffing the developer side of things, so mostly Java and phase one developers. If we have a requirement for business analysts or project managers, another department handles that.

We typically have an extensive selection process with two rounds of interviews to ensure the consultant or specialist fits with the team. We currently have about 15 contractors that are distributed across different teams and projects.

How did you come to work with Avenga?

I can’t tell you how we originally came to work with them because it precedes my role in the project. However, they were one of the group’s first partners. The quality of their profiles impressed us, as did the experts that they came up with. We were also impressed by their communication.

How much have you invested with them?

I’d estimate that we spent about $1 million–$1.5 million per year.

What is the status of this engagement?

I believe Avenga has worked with the group for 3–4 years, if not longer.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

They have fast reaction times and quickly resolve issues.

How did Avenga perform from a project management standpoint?

The account manager we work with is very helpful and diligent about coming up with solutions that work for us. We have a very open and honest atmosphere. If there’s a problem, we can quickly resolve it and find a solution that is beneficial to us.

The communication style, the experts they provide, and their management style is what has made us stay with them as a partner. They’re close by and can drop by for a face-to-face discussion.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They’re very diligent with their preselection process. Sometimes, providers send all kinds of profiles that aren’t suitable or don’t fill your base requirements. Avenga makes sure that they preselect the appropriate resources that have the skills we need. In general, they have a very solid process.

Are there any areas they could improve?

No, there’s nothing I’d have them improve.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Be open about any problems you encounter or if you’re not satisfied with one of your contractors. They will make sure that problems get solved, such as finding a replacement candidate. Work on building a relationship with them. Maintain communication and provide regular feedback on how the contractors are performing.

**The Review** — Oct 17, 2019

**Feedback Summary**: The platform is still underway, but Avenga's (formerly Perfectial’s) work has met all requirements so far, satisfying the client. The team is a reliable producer of top-notch development at reasonable rates. Constant communication, flexibility, and a wide range of technological expertise make for a smooth workflow.
""Having a single vendor that flexibly offers resources to meet our requirements is incredibly valuable."
"

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m the CTO of Fairfield Marketplace. We’re a startup in the FinTech domain that offers services such as non-performing loan management and debt collection.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with Perfectial?

We needed help with developing our platform. I also wanted a team that I’ve worked with before, particularly one that is flexible, scalable, and reliable.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?

Perfectial developed the frontend of our platform using simple yet portable languages, such as HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and React for multi-platform adaption. They recently started working with me and other resources to build out services and the backend site. For those parts, we’re using Python and AWS services.

What is the team composition?

We’ve worked with a total of seven technical people and one project/account manager.

How did you come to work with Perfectial?

I first worked with Perfectial in 2010 when I was at a different company based in San Francisco. We had a decent-sized internal team, but we were overstretched in trying to build new functionalities and regulatory requirements on our roadmap. A former colleague introduced me to Perfectial. Our first project together involved multi-factor authentication.

Perfectial was always clear on what they could and could not deliver, and they met every commitment that they agreed to. That’s one of the significant values of working with them. This platform will be my sixth or seventh project with Perfectial.

How much have you invested with them?

We’ve spent €150,000–€200,000 (approximately $166,000–$220,000 USD).

What is the status of this engagement?

The project began in November 2018 and is ongoing.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We’ve measured Perfectial alongside our internal team in terms of the efficient and effectiveness of their development. Perfectial has performed well so far—they’re very good at delivering on our requirements. We’re currently in the pre-launch stage.

How did Perfectial perform from a project management standpoint?

As I said before, Perfectial is upfront about what they can and cannot do based on our requirements and expectations. They’re careful to outline potential gaps or risks. We keep in touch with our project manager regularly, who’s been very helpful in managing the whole process.

What did you find most impressive about them?

I’d name several things. First, the breadth of technology that Perfectial can work with is impressive. Running a startup, we don’t necessarily have a lot of time to manage multiple providers to cover our technology stack. Having a single vendor that flexibly offers resources to meet our requirements is incredibly valuable.

Second, their ability to deliver on commitments stands out. Third and finally, because we’re relatively close to each other—we're both in Europe—it’s much easier for me to work with Perfectial than with other providers located elsewhere.

Are there any areas they could improve?

More communication on the project management side can be helpful. That said, when things haven’t gone exactly as I expected, Perfectial is quick to adjust their team or processes so they can still fulfill their commitments.

Any advice for potential customers?

Be very clear, especially with the project manager or account manager, what your requirements are. In any remote collaboration, communicating your needs can be somewhat challenging. You need to interact more with a project manager so that they understand precisely what you expect.

**The Review** — Sep 11, 2019

**Feedback Summary**: Their consistent team produced a working product within only four months, allowing the company to onboard about 500 clients and implement the software in over 1,000 websites. Avenga (formerly Clearcode) has an adaptable staff that is trustworthy and feels more like a partner than just a development shop.
""It has been an overall positive experience and we definitely recommend Avenga (formerly Clearcode).""

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.I’m the CTO of a company working with data privacy. We help firms comply with data privacy laws, particularly the GDPR.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with Clearcode? We needed a development partner to build a SaaS platform from scratch. We didn’t have the necessary knowledge in-house so we hired Clearcode for the task.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?Clearcode helped us create our own platform and web crawler. We used to have an added service from another provider but decided to make something on our own. It’s a business intelligence service that’s connected to Power BI. The crawler needed to find and identify all tracking technologies used by other ad tech providers. It’s very much about what kinds of services are used to track people online for marketing purposes, and how we can find them.              We had an idea and technical specifications for the project we were starting, but everything was kicked off with a meeting and a blank piece of paper. Clearcode was in on it from the beginning. What is the team composition? We’re working with three people from their team at the moment but had 12 at peak performance. We’ve had the same project manager since the beginning, and the rest of the team was appointed based on the skills we needed. This includes designers, on-call testers, and a split between front- and backend developers. We’ve pretty much worked with the same people during the project, on and off.How did you come to work with Clearcode?I found them online and started a conversation with one of their account managers. We then jumped on an airplane and went to Poland for an MVP session. We described the project and started from there. I didn’t really look around because we had a good feeling about Clearcode. How much have you invested with them? The total at the moment is at around €1 million (approximately $1.1 million USD).What is the status of this engagement? We started working with Clearcode in January 2018, and the collaboration is ongoing.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?Clearcode created a viable product that we could go to market with within four months. We were able to onboard around 500 clients and implement the software into around 1,000 websites. How did Clearcode perform from a project management standpoint? We’re really pleased, both with the management team and developers. It has been an overall positive experience and we definitely recommend Clearcode. We’re happy with our project manager, who set everything up and really took the time, in the beginning, to make sure that everything was up and running. We set up a working structure that we could use for the long term. What did you find most impressive about them? They’re really good at adjusting to different teams and situations and can be considered a trusted partner. I’ve been in touch with different people from Clearcode—from management to designers—and everyone has been quite professional. Are there any areas they could improve?I don’t have anything in mind for them to improve. Everything is going as planned right now.Do you have any advice for future clients of theirs? It’s important to stay in touch and consider Clearcode a trusted partner. Meeting the actual developers can also help them when they have a question and need to reach out. They shouldn’t be thought of as just development partners, but also as people that clients can have a chat with about what to do next. It eases the communication flow and the development work a lot.

**The Review** — Aug 29, 2019

**Feedback Summary**: The code provided by this project reduces manual entry hours and inconsistencies between products. Avenga (formerly Clearcode) manages projects well and is happy to explain more complicated aspects of their work. Their estimates are accurate from sprint to sprint.
"“They are my preferred outsource company.”"

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there. We are a SaaS provider. We specialize in digital out-of-home networks and work with any screen, from the back of a taxicab to a marquis in Times Square. We create software for clients who run those networks. I'm a product manager, and I am responsible for the direct interactions with Clearcode.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with Clearcode? They helped us create the code between two of our major products and got those products to communicate with one another.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement? One product is a programmatic platform that acts as a portal to buy and sell advertising. We created our own supply-side platform a couple of years ago that lists and sells inventory in another product. Clearcode used our APIs for both products to extract information from one and place it into the other system automatically. That helped keep the information synched and reduced the workload.A few months into the collaboration, we chose an off-the-shelf system to use as a visual platform. We extended that information into that third platform. We pivoted very quickly from wanting to create something from scratch to a buy process instead. They were very flexible as we changed the plan, and everything went smoothly. We use agile methodology, so we do estimations of stories and input that into the system. What is the team composition? At any one time, the team included four or five people. As our requirements changed, we switched out a few developers. Initially, we had two backend specialists, a frontend lead, and a QA specialist. When we changed tactics, we switched exclusively to backend. How did you come to work with Clearcode? We chose them because of their experience in programmatic platforms. How much have you invested with them? We've spent somewhere in the $50,000-$200,000 range. What is the status of this engagement? We started working together at the end of 2018 or right at the beginning of 2019. My project is just now moving into maintenance mode, but we also use them for a few other projects in our environment. We're very happy with their work, and they continue to help us augment our own development.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? It's a small team, so all the estimates were fairly accurate from sprint to sprint. The platforms change a lot, and we did push the date back, but that was due to faults in the products. We were happy with their work across the board. How did Clearcode perform from a project management standpoint? They manage projects well, and we're very happy with them. I would recommend them to any other company. What did you find most impressive about them? They are my preferred outsource company. They're friendly, professional, and they make everything easy. I get along with all the developers on their team, and we can joke over Slack, but they never lose their professionalism. They explain the more complicated issues, and I have a wonderful time working with them. Are there any areas they could improve?About six weeks in, we switched out a developer, which caused some concern at the time. Ultimately, the new developer was better suited to the project, and the change ended up being a benefit. There’s nothing I can think of that they could improve.Do you have any advice for potential customers?Hire them. We're very happy with their work and will continue to use them.

"“They're definitely one of the best development companies we've worked with.”"

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there. We are a platform whose main focus is to organize client data. We have stacks to capture and organize data for online campaigns. I'm a data manager, and I coordinate the new platform we're building with Clearcode.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with Clearcode? We work with Clearcode on a module that is completely aligned with privacy laws and other compliances. Brazilian laws are very complex for our kind of platform, and we had several needs that we wanted help with.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement? They help us organize data in ways that are acceptable to legislation and regulations. From the ground up, they do all the development of the new platform. Their responsibilities include coding, building, and project management. Elements include trackers, databases, user controls, and UI.What is the team composition? The team is about 8-10 people now. During the scoping phase, we used about 15, but that number has gone down for the development phase. How did you come to work with Clearcode? We reached out to them when we wanted to develop this project. They were a good agency for our needs, and they already had experience in our area. How much have you invested with them?I'm not responsible for the financial side, but I think we've spent less than $200,000 USD so far. What is the status of this engagement? The project started around February or March 2019. The work is still ongoing, and we anticipate the project will go on for a while.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? We don't have any formal KPIs yet. We established early on that the first workable deliverables would arrive in September or October 2019, and we're on the right track to meet those deadlines. Everyone on our team is excited about this project, and it's been a good experience for us.How did Clearcode perform from a project management standpoint? They are great project managers. They're well organized, and they help us in areas we lack experience. They're the best partner we've used for several projects, and we're happy with their work. What did you find most impressive about them? They're definitely one of the best development companies we've worked with. They're much better organized than any other company we've encountered. Are there any areas they could improve?I don't think there's anything they could improve upon. We worried that a change in project managers would affect the project, but we had no problems when we got our new manager. Everything is on schedule and going well, and their estimations are accurate.Do you have any advice for potential customers?Follow their lead. Our scoping phase was very detailed, and we followed the steps they recommended. They are good at arranging screens and establishing scope. My only advice is to hire them.

**Feedback Summary**: The efforts of Avenga (formerly Core Value Inc) made the simultaneous development of multiple versions of the platform possible. Their team goes above and beyond to improve themselves, adding members to the team and meetings to the schedule where necessary. They are communicative and talented.
"“Avenga's (formerly Core Value Inc's) willingness to make sure that we are collectively successful stands out.”
"

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.

I am the co-owner and CTO of NBTV, a digital media house with a technology background. We create digital channels and verticals.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with Core Value Inc?

We were building out a new platform for the spirits business and were looking for a development partner that aligned with our thoughts and objectives.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?

Core Value Inc developed the platform from start to finish. This project included delivering three platforms simultaneously: a web, mobile iOS, and Apple TV version. Their team uses Angular, Java, and AWS.

The Core Value Inc team was involved in design and architecture work, as well as providing expertise in sales and e-commerce systems. Their team also built video capabilities. They also performed QA testing and continue to provide ongoing DevOps support to our platform.

What is the team composition?

Our project has a team of 15–20 individuals, including business analysts, project managers, and developers. Core Value Inc has a good structure for software development and makes sure their people adhere to that structure and work accordingly.

How did you come to work with Core Value Inc?

When I was shopping around for a development partner, my chief architect recommended Core Value Inc because he has some past experience with them. He highly endorses their team as someone I should consider as part of our search.

How much have you invested with them?

By the time we’re done, we will have invested slightly over $1,000,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

Our ongoing engagement with Core Value Inc began in October 2018.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

One of the really strong parts of Core Value Inc’s organization is that they were helpful in assisting our navigation of delivering three platforms at a time. We released our first version of the platform about 30–40 days and we are now working on rolling out an Android version as well as enhancements to the UX and back administration experience. The Core Value Inc team was great at the organization and management aspects involved in developing multiple platforms at once. I’m not sure we could have done it as well with another partner.

How did Core Value Inc perform from a project management standpoint?

They were very good in terms of communication. Core Value Inc is very structured, and we would have weekly tech and project management meetings. Our teams have ongoing daily discussions about metrics to communicate the percentage of completion on features of the platform. They also let us know about any issues, bugs, or anomalies we needed to address. We always knew where our time, money, and efforts were going, which is the key component of a good partnership.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Core Value Inc’s willingness to make sure that we are collectively successful stands out. Whether it's bringing on more resources or providing some other capabilities, they go above and beyond. They bring their broad portfolio of talent to the table. I have had bad experiences with vendors in the past, but Core Value Inc made me feel like I had nothing to worry about.

Are there any areas they could improve?

There were some cultural divisions that impeded communication. There are always aspects of projects that could be better, but there wasn’t anything totally detrimental. To their credit, whenever we were having any kind of challenge they would always step up and help guide the way.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Don’t overestimate the amount of communication that could be needed to onboard everybody upfront. That was probably the biggest challenge for us. Their team was very helpful in bringing in more people, setting up more meetings, or having more discussions to make sure we get through issues quickly. This was possible because we stayed on top of communications.

The ability to adapt to project specifications was a hallmark of their work, and contributed to the recent expansion of their role.
""Avenga (formerly Core Value Inc) met all assigned deliverables, which made them very valuable."
"

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m VP software development at Instem, a software development house that works within the life sciences industry pharmaceuticals. My position covers all of the software development and testing.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with Core Value Inc.?

We had a significant contractual commitment. We needed to augment our staff in order to help us deliver that software.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?

Core Value Inc. provided us with supplemental development staff who worked as integrated members of our teams. They also provided a software tester to give us additional capacity to meet the contractual requirements.

Their team used a mix of technologies, including Microsoft SQL Server and the .NET framework. On top of that, they used an application lifecycle management (ALM) Azure DevOps system.

What is the team composition?

For the most recent project, we had two people working with us. We used a team of 6–8 people on a previous project.

How did you come to work with Core Value Inc.?

Instem was already using Core Value Inc. when I joined the company. At one point, we moved away from contracting for strategic reasons. We brought them back on when we changed our approach because of the value they provide.

How much have you invested with them?

We’ve spent between $250,000–$500,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

The most recent project started in January 2017 and ran for 18 months.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

They've become an integral part of our team’s ability to actually deliver the work we need to do. Core Value Inc. met all assigned deliverables, which made them very valuable.

Judging their contributions as members of a scrum team, the feedback has always been that Core Value Inc. consistently provides top performers. Their employees are often the strongest members of the various teams. We've been extremely happy with the contributions they've made, and continue to see the benefits of having them on board. Because of their successful work to date, we just brought back the two people we used recently for a different project.

How did Core Value Inc. perform from a project management standpoint?

We led the project management and oversight. We got weekly updates and reports so that we could understand where Core Value Inc. was in the project and what they’d provided us. We also integrated them into our communication systems. We used Skype, Microsoft Teams, and Azure DevOps. They were fully integrated as members of the team and using the same technology as everyone else.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Core Value Inc. was quite flexible in their availability. We've got a good working relationship. They've been able to accommodate us, even when we required additional resources on short notice.

Are there any areas they could improve?

No, at the moment we're very happy with the people we've used. Their team is so strong. As a fundamental issue, I expect augment staff to be able to work as if they are part of our team and have been for a while. Core Value Inc. is absolutely able to do so.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

I encourage you to work the way we do and incorporate them on your scrum teams. Give them the same tools as everyone else and treat them as if they're an FTE.

**Feedback Summary**: Communicating clearly from the start, Avenga's (formerly Perfectial’s) project manager inspired confidence throughout the project. The project manager played a key role in their ability to adapt to ever-evolving specifications. A solutions-oriented approach kept the project moving, even with the language differences.
""Their flexibility was most impressive. Avenga (formerly Perfectial) was able to tackle unexpected problems."
"

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m a project manager for a clothing company.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with Perfectial?

We had a project last year to build a new company from scratch. We needed to hire an external resource to help us build an e-commerce website in order to drive retail.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?

Perfectial led development of everything technical involved with creating the website. In addition to the frontend, they developed all the backend-related data flows. The site handles shipping and payment capabilities, so they developed the data flow to both of those systems. They also helped us develop an analytics landscape and all the infrastructure necessary to enable data science. They created our data warehouse, defined the architecture of the data schema, and continue to maintain the data science environments.

What is the team composition?

The size of the team varied depending on our needs. At the peak, we worked with a project lead, architects, engineers, and testers. In general, the team size was anywhere from 3–11 people.

How did you come to work with Perfectial?

We started the project with a different company but were not happy with the deliverables. We switched to Perfectial because they were the strongest candidate based on recommendations.

How much have you invested with them?

We spent between $600,000–$800,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

Work started around October 2017. The first non e-commerce website launched in December 2017, then the full site launched in March 2018.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We’ve been really happy with them. Compared to other firms we worked with in the past, Perfectial had really stellar project management. The project manager kept things well-structured, and she was also quite technical and knowledgeable. She replied quickly and always came up with solid solutions when we came to her with requests. She also was good at estimating the time and cost for each task. We felt super comfortable having her as our project manager.

How did Perfectial perform from a project management standpoint?

The project manager was the key component to both the project’s success and us being happy working with Perfectial. She was excellent at understanding the business requirements and translating them into technical requirements. She also was quite proactive at making decisions about what could or could not be done based on our requirements.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Their flexibility was most impressive. Perfectial was able to tackle unexpected problems. They could cope with different situations and still always deliver good quality. We would often come up with questions or tasks that were urgent. We could count on them to help us brainstorm to find solutions, and then ramp up or down resources as needed.

Are there any areas they could improve?

Sometimes there was a slight misinterpretation because of the language barrier. The project manager was crucial to making the project work despite that challenge.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Make sure you have a good rapport with your assigned project manager. When working with any company from another country, try to work with them in person as much as possible. That definitely improves efficiency and minimizes the language barrier.

**The Review** — May 23, 2019

**Feedback Summary**: Avenga (formerly Perfectial) worked within tight deadlines and delivered as promised. They had notable project management skills, which allowed them to adapt to the large time difference between teams and coordinate well with internal stakeholders. Customers can expect high-quality work and an orderly approach.
"“Avenga (formerly Perfectial) was very professional, clear in their communications, and organized.”
"

**BACKGROUND**
Please describe your company and your position there.

I am the founder and executive director/CEO of BitGive. BitGive is the first Bitcoin 501(c)(3) nonprofit, giving it tax exemption status at the federal level in the United States. BitGive has built a positive philanthropic representative organization for the Bitcoin and blockchain industry, bridging the gap between an innovative technology and its practical applications for nonprofits and humanitarian work in the developing world.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
For what projects/services did your company hire Perfectial?

We were building the v1.0 of GiveTrack™, our cryptocurrency and blockchain-based donation platform, and we needed a solid third-party QA and penetration test team.

What were your goals for this project?

We wanted a well-functioning and polished product for the user experience (QA tests) and a solid penetration-tested platform, especially given the use of cryptocurrencies and processing payments.

**SOLUTION**
How did you select this vendor?

Perfectial was recommended to us from a trusted advisor, and, after speaking with the team about our needs and timeline, we were happy to get started.

Describe the project in detail.

GiveTrack™ is our flagship project, a revolutionary donation platform for nonprofits to provide transparency and accountability to donors by sharing financial information and direct project results in real time.

GiveTrack™ builds on Bitcoin and blockchain technology. It’s a customized platform for nonprofits that is data-centered and user-friendly, providing a comprehensive user interface. The future of philanthropy is real-time tracking of funds and driving more outcomes on the ground.

To ensure our platform’s security, we hired Perfectial to QA our product and perform a series of penetration tests. It was a short turn-around time before the launch, and their team took the challenge on with ease.

What was the team composition?

We worked with a team of penetration test engineers, a QA specialist, and a project manager.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

We were able to QA and penetration test the platform’s high priority areas within our tight timeline and were confident going into our launch. Following the launch, we were able to continue with the remainder of the testing needed to have a thorough effort.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

We really enjoyed working with Perfectial. The team was very organized and communicated very well and regularly. We were also able to bridge a big time difference, being on the West Coast in the US while they were in Lviv. We used Slack and Jira for daily communications and task management, and email for more management and executive-level communications.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

Perfectial was very professional, clear in their communications, and organized. They followed through on their commitments and worked seamlessly with our team. They have a clean process and do high-quality work. It was a pleasure to work with them.

Are there any areas for improvement?

Our communications around future work beyond the initial contract did suffer from some misunderstandings, but we also had our role in this due to not knowing exactly what our needs would be post-launch.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with Solidbrain?

We rely on a management tool to register, track, analyze, and resolve customer complaints. By 2014, this tool had been in place for about twenty years. We needed help updating and adapting it.

Since 2014, Solidbrain has updated and developed our complaint management tool. Their support is ongoing.

What is the team composition?

Our main contact is a senior developer. We do not have regular contact with other developers.

How did you come to work with Solidbrain?

Another department within my company hired Solidbrain; I don’t know much about the background of the engagement.

What is the status of this engagement?

I’ve been working on the project since 2014. I’m not sure when ABB initially engaged Solidbrain. Our partnership is ongoing.

The tool has garnered a reputation for being user-responsive, even though it is one of ABB’s oldest tools.

How did Solidbrain perform from a project management standpoint?

The senior developer is very pragmatic and transparent. If we present impractical ideas, the Solidbrain team is upfront and proposes great alternatives. Rather than expecting us to tell them what to do, their team is part of the thought process. They are incredibly committed and engaged. Our collaboration has been smooth and easygoing.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Solidbrain conducts thorough technology tests before releasing anything. We are confident in the team’s ability to deliver high-quality work on schedule, which allows us to focus on other areas. They have made the collaboration effortless on our end.

Are there any areas they could improve?

No, I can’t think of any, which is unusual for me.

Any advice for potential customers?

Engage Solidbrain’s team as much as possible. Make them part of the full process and ensure that they understand your requirements and goals.

**The Review** — Mar 12, 2019

**Feedback Summary**: They worked quickly to launch and maintain several databases, and the KPIs supported within have informed business decisions. Avenga's (formerly Core Value Inc's) data science has offered metrics that have reduced fraud. They’ve also informed marketing decisions, improving targeting and optimizing ad spend.
""They’ve taken on a lot of work and consistently delivered on it."
"

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m a data engineer and analyst for an insurance tech company. We provide a platform for on-demand insurance.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with Core Value?

Our analytics team needed help in all things data-related, so we contracted with their data science and engineering team. Our company provides everything from software engineering to data science work and extract, transform, load (ETL).

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?

They built and maintained analytics databases from scratch. We also added their data science portion, for analysis of those databases. They produced in-depth analysis of our product and how to improve it.

What is the team composition?

We worked with eight people from their team, including the project manager.

How did you come to work with Core Value?

They were brought in before my time at the company. We’d gotten good referrals for them in the past, and decided to bring them on.

How much have you invested with them?

We spend over $50,000 per month.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working with them in late 2015 and the engagement is ongoing.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We’ve built several key databases, which store all the important KPIs we need in order to make decisions. Deploying those databases and making sure they’re continually operational is a tremendous success story, given that Core Value has done it in such a small amount of time.

The data is quite accurate and it’s supported multiple products and markets successfully. Our ETLs are running smoothly. Data is coming in and going out with no issues. We’ve been able to leverage that data for reporting to partners and for internal processes.

From a data science perspective, the people from Core Value involved in the work have had tremendous success. They’ve helped us detect and reduce fraud by a large portion, by providing key metrics in that direction.

They’ve been able to improve our product and ad spend significantly, informing our team on our marketing targets, and how to improve efficiency.

How did Core Value perform from a project management standpoint?

We’re in touch with them daily, and they’re very much integrated into everything we do. They’ve taken on a lot of work and consistently delivered on it. We work in an agile setting, with two-week sprints. Our velocity has increased, and the whole company has started working in the same methodology. The analytics velocity is always high, and that’s largely because of Core Value’s effort.

What did you find most impressive about them?

One of the most impressive things about them is their ability to understand our business, and not just the technical implementation. They understand why and how we’re doing things. Core Value is an offshore team thousands of miles away, but they’re very much integrated with our product line. They always ask key questions and they have a vision of what our company is trying to do, and how they’re contributing to that effort.

Are there any areas they could improve?

No, I can’t think of anything.

Do you have any advice for future clients of theirs?

They’re worth considering as an offshore partner, and we haven’t run into issues regarding communication nor effectiveness.

**The Review** — Jan 10, 2019

**Feedback Summary**: Their team resolved numerous issues with legacy code in addition to handling new development. The project progressed on schedule, with three major releases in less than a year, enabling the product to go live for a customer. They took ownership over all tasks and produced high-quality code.
"“Their reaction time was great and their technical competency was impressive.”
"

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m the senior project manager of Simplifield.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with Core Value Inc.?

We needed to develop a Salesforce integration with our main product.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?

We worked with them to build a team that could deliver our code with a quick turnaround. They started from our existing back end code and the results of an existing code review and built the integration on top of our platform. They used Angular JS and Apex on the Salesforce side and JavaScript for some other things.

Once we had that initial challenge squared away, we started focusing more on future development. We created a more structured workflow that included building our roadmap, logging items that needed work, and managing those logged tasks. Our side handled the logs, and they worked in sprints to make the changes. After about three months, we had completed the first stage of the project and ran a code review. The second stage involved fixing any errors we found during the audit. In the final stage, they worked on new features for us. They also reviewed and repaired our legacy code.

What is the team composition?

We initially worked with three people from their team but ended up with seven, including two Salesforce developers and two NodeJS developers.

How did you come to work with Core Value Inc.?

I’d worked with them at a previous job. I’d been happy with the quality of their deliverables, so when we needed to change contractors on this project, I thought of them. After tasking them with an initial project, we were satisfied that they’d be able to deliver.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working together in March 2018, and the project is ongoing.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Their team managed the development at a consistent pace and delivered things on schedule. When we planned the features we wanted to be developed, we’d estimated that it should take six or seven months and that’s about how long it took. Within the span of under a year, we managed to deliver three major releases of our product and are working on the fourth. We’ve successfully installed the platform for one live client and done several demos. We’ve also been able to update successfully for our client without running into any errors.

How did Core Value Inc. perform from a project management standpoint?

I handled the project management overall and coordinated with the project manager/scrum master from their team. He coordinated things on their side and was highly involved in the project. He ensured that the processes from our side were executed correctly and always provided proper metrics for product follow-up. We were always alerted if there were delays or if project components wrapped up ahead of schedule. They did a great job of communicating so we could adjust our priorities, plans, and potential executions as needed.

In terms of communication, we held a sprint planning call at the beginning of each week and a review call at the end of the week. We’d also connect by phone as needed if there were crucial issues that required more detailed discussion. We also used a project management tool to exchange technical details and information that the development team needed. If necessary, we’d also touch base over Slack.

What did you find most impressive about them?

The first version of our platform was built by a legacy team, and when we went to install it for a live client, we realized it hadn’t been properly tested for large volumes of data. We couldn’t proceed until the errors were fixed and the Core Value Inc. team addressed most of those bugs and gaps in the code within one week.

In another instance, we had a partner who installed Salesforce for a client and was supposed to build out some processes on top of our platform. These weren’t built correctly, and we couldn’t connect back to them to get the errors fixed. Our client needed the repairs quickly, so we asked Core Value Inc.’s team to investigate the system. They located the issue, fixed it, and retroactively applied the patches to catch up on all of the data updates that hadn’t happened while the processes weren’t working.

In both of these cases, they took ownership of code they hadn’t built, deciphered the problems, and resolved them promptly. Their reaction time was great, and their technical competency was impressive.

Are there any areas they could improve?

No, not really. We repeatedly adjusted the process throughout our collaboration and the team was always flexible. They were quick to adopt new ways of doing things or handle changes in scope. Some of the team members had weaker English skills, but it wasn’t an issue because they collaborated with those who were stronger. Most of the communication was in writing, so language didn’t impact the project.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

We worked in close collaboration with the account manager, who did a great job, and that worked well for us. If there are any prevalent issues or bottlenecks, they can help find a solution. Core Value Inc. was always very flexible and proactive in offering assistance.

**The Review** — Jan 9, 2019

**Feedback Summary**: Avenga (formerly Perfectial) consistently delivered the necessary components to build critical features on schedule and in line with the scope. They solved problems as they arose and brainstormed beyond the basic requirements. The team demonstrated a strong commitment and communicated responsively.
"“They were responsive, available, committed to our project, and always willing to go the extra mile.”
"

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.

I'm part of the product team at a data marketplace. We're building a platform that will allow businesses and ultimately individuals to work with, share, sell, and buy data. Our marketplace is open to virtually anyone. Users who publish data have fine-grain control over who can see it, who is involved within the platform itself, and who cannot access it.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with Perfectial?

We hired Perfectial to help us start building our platform from scratch and develop the prioritized features on our roadmap.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?

Perfectial focused on frontend development because we had strong backend capabilities in-house. They programmed the code in JavaScript. Our platform contains four main components. For the initial marketplace, the team helped us develop core features like the registration, login, profile creation. They also built out the capability to ingest data onto the platform. From there, we developed MVP versions of various other pieces.

What is the team composition?

The number of people we worked with from Perfectial waxed and waned over time depending on our budget and development needs. They allocated 10 resources at one stage. Towards the end, we worked with a team of five. A project manager served as our main point of contact throughout the process.

How did you come to work with Perfectial?

One of our co-founder's contacts recommended Perfectial. They described the team as a particularly reliable and responsive outsourced development option. Our engagement worked out quite well, so we continued working together for quite some time.

How much have you invested with them?

The cost varied over time depending on the team size. On average, we spent about €20,000 (approximately $23,000 USD) per month.

What is the status of this engagement?

We worked with Perfectial from August 2017–September 2018.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Week upon week, Perfectial produced the promised deliverables we needed to achieve as we built certain features. We could roll back into the seventh-month view and see all the work we accomplished on a monthly basis. The team’s success lay in the impressive number of features we managed to build together successfully. They resolved all the issues we experienced and met our deadlines on time.

How did Perfectial perform from a project management standpoint?

Project management was great. They maintained good communication at all times both towards us and within their internal team. Since we're based in different countries, corresponding could be difficult at times. Overall project management was well-coordinated. The team thoroughly understood our priorities and what needed to be done. We were well-matched.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Perfectial's method of working was quite reliable. They were responsive, available, committed to our project, and always willing to go the extra mile. Rather than treating us like just another client, we felt that their team fully contributed to our project. They considered aspects beyond our exact requirements.

Are there any areas they could improve?

Perhaps they could form a better approach to working with startups. They used generic pricing and packaging that could be stretched across the average stencil of a company. I think it would benefit them to take on a more case-by-case mentality.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

No, not particularly.

**The Review** — Dec 18, 2018

**Feedback Summary**: A week after launch, there was visible platform growth, while deployment requests increased by 50%. Avenga (formerly Core Value Inc) established a good rapport with the internal team and was communicative and easy to work with.
"“Nothing was too complicated for them, and everything about their process is straightforward.”
"

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I am the founder of AMMI Systems. We build AI chatbots and conversational AI, and we have our own product called UMA. We have been in business for two years and just launched UMA last week.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with Core Value Inc.?
We needed some help with software development on our iOS platform.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?
Core Value has helped us to build certain components of our product, UMA. We engaged with them quite early on to oversee iOS development. UMA is a bespoke application for iPad, which includes a room booking panel that sits outside a meeting room. They developed the booking functionality to build off of an existing mobile app that syncs to the booking panel.
The entire process, from initial call to completion, took about six weeks. Once we went over the scope, they assigned all the right people and got the project started.
What is the team composition?
We had four people on our team, including a project manager and a number of QA analysts.
How did you come to work with Core Value Inc.?
A mutual contact from our community of software developers recommended them. They were a good cultural fit for us, so we called them. After those initial calls, we decided to work together.
How much have you invested in them?
We have invested around $10,000.
What is the status of this engagement?
The contract started in October 2018. We’re looking to secure a 12-month arrangement to bring them on as a more permanent contractor.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
We launched our product last week and already have multiple deployment requests from customers. In a week, our pipeline increased by 50%, and we’ve seen some platform growth. They were in charge of about 15% of the total product, but their work on the frontend of the iPad application made our work much easier. The design is great, and people really like the visual display. Core Value also did a great job with the backend.
How did Core Value Inc. perform from a project management standpoint?
They are outstanding and deserve high praise. Nothing was too complicated for them, and everything about their process is straightforward and free of any trouble. My CTO communicated with them in daily huddles, and I spoke with them once a week at our regular check-ins. Every time they pushed a release, they gave us a demonstration.
What did you find most impressive about them?
The process was simple and straightforward, and the whole experience was really seamless. They were a pleasure to work with, and our entire team had a very comfortable rapport with them.
Are there any areas they could improve?
I genuinely can’t think of anything they should improve. They’re a great company.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
Let them show you the way. They have a lot of experience and a solid knowledge base. If you have any issues or doubts, let them help you. They are creative and will work best if you let them be a part of your team.

"“Avenga's (formerly Core Value Inc's) affinity for collaboration and innovation is their greatest strength.”
"

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m the CEO of a360inc, a technology and outsourcing company that provides services to law firms in the mortgage default marketplace.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with CoreValue Services?

Our software requires frequent updates to keep up with the ever-evolving legal industry. We needed more resources to manage the changing dynamics.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?

As an extension of our in-house R&D team, CoreValue Services assists with prototype and software development. We typically work with the project managers to identify the business need, and their developers use the problem statement to create a solution. Their team also provides ongoing support and maintenance after the products are released.

One of the most recent business intelligence (BI) solutions that they’ve developed is a dashboard platform that aggregates data from disparate systems. They’re currently helping us renovate the UI of an archaic platform that we acquired.

What is the team composition?

Depending on the size of the project, the development team can range from 4–10 programmers.

How did you come to work with CoreValue Services?

They had an existing relationship with an ownership group that we acquired, so we decided to continue business with them. After experiencing their collaborative and innovative philosophy, we decided to make them our exclusive development partner.

How much have you invested with them?

We spend a little more than $500,000 with them annually.

What is the status of this engagement?

The prior ownership group had a decade-long partnership with them before we came onboard in 2013.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Without CoreValue Services, most of our product concepts would be stagnant and ineffective. The quality and accuracy are consistently high; the few defects that occur are immediately remedied.

How did CoreValue Services perform from a project management standpoint?

They have a powerful team of project managers and business analysts who fully-committed to our success. We have an eight-hour time difference, but they use it as an advantage to deliver work for us ahead of schedule.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Although they have full-suite capabilities across the development ecosystem and a solid background in .NET and Salesforce, CoreValue Services’ affinity for collaboration and innovation is their greatest strength. Most vendors need detailed instructions to build a satisfactory product, but CoreValue Services only require a problem statement to develop a viable solution.

Are there any areas they could improve?

They’re wonderful in every respect, but our partnership would greatly benefit from more in-office meetings.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Developing strong relationships with their senior leaders has helped us tremendously. To get the most out of the engagement, avoid being overly prescriptive and allow them to take the lead in the conceptual stages.

**The Review** — Aug 15, 2018

**Feedback Summary**: Affordability and depth of expertise have made Avenga (formerly Core Value Inc) a critical development partner. Their team easily scales to accommodate project size and is equally flexible with scheduling across time zones.
"“I’ve never been able to find so many developers of this caliber so quickly.”
"

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m the CTO at QPharma.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with CoreValue Services?

We do a lot of software development and we couldn’t find enough people with the right skill set, particularly engineers who knew React Native. Hiring costs in the States were also prohibitive, so we wanted to outsource.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?

For their initial project, we asked them to build an app for Android and iOS using React Native. We use their developers to create the apps and our in-house team handles maintenance and support after the apps are completed.

In addition to mobile app development, they also do a fair amount of web development and a lot of Oracle development and support, including integration with other applications. One of the biggest projects that they’ve worked on recently involved migrating our data to Amazon Web Services (AWS). Not only were we moving the data, we also needed to implement a disaster recovery setup that would allow us to keep our data in two regions simultaneously in the event of server failure.

What is the team composition?

Our in-house tech lead oversees their developers and QA testers as if they’re part of our team. The number varies depending on the project, but it’s gone as high as 35 people before.

How did you come to work with CoreValue Services?

I knew of them through a colleague at a previous job. Some of their representatives had also approached our CEO about doing work for us. One of the major reasons we decided to hire them, aside from their expertise, was that they had a deep bench in terms of how many developers they could dedicate to a project.

How much have you invested with them?

The cost varies month to month, but the total is probably close to $2 million.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working with them in January 2016 and our collaboration is ongoing.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Their assistance with our data migration and database replication helped us meet client disaster recovery requirements. Without it, we would have lost business.

How did CoreValue Services perform from a project management standpoint?

Since we integrate their staff with ours, they’re part of our daily status meetings and we touch base with them throughout the day. We’ve also given them access to Jira so they can track tickets directly, much like our regular employees.

It’s fortunate that the time difference in Ukraine is reasonable and we can incorporate their staff into our workday smoothly. The workers are reliable and pretty flexible with scheduling.

What did you find most impressive about them?

I’ve never been able to find so many developers of this caliber so quickly in the States.

Are there any areas they could improve?

While they’re very good working from Ukraine, it would be good if they had local employees available that we could bring in. I’d rather work with their developers for everything, but we sometimes have to use local consultants for things CoreValue can’t do remotely.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Make sure you find the right balance between in-house staff and the remote team.

**The Review** — Jul 25, 2018

**Feedback Summary**: Avenga (formerly Core Value Inc) work doubles the number of integrations the business can produce and is crucial to its success. Their team quickly understand project requirements and deliver high-quality solutions. Their software testing services are exceptional and set them above the competition.
""They have a good grasp of the underlying technology stack, software engineering principles, and design concepts."
"

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.

Olo is a software as a service (SaaS) company that offers a digital-ordering technology product line for the North American restaurant industry. More than 50% percent of public restaurant brands in the U.S. use our platform. We enable digital ordering capabilities for their guests. I am senior VP of engineering, responsible for product development.

**SOLUTION**
What challenge were you trying to address with Corevalue Services?

We engaged them when we were still a small engineering team. At the time, we wanted to tap the outsourced market as a source of skilled developers to help us accelerate the development of new product features and third-party integrations.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What was the scope of their involvement?

We assign their developers to a diverse array of projects. Their team supports us from a development or QA capacity using .NET, C#, F#, and our Amazon Web Services (AWS) platform.

Specifically, their developers are instrumental in helping us build out point of sales integrations for client’s third-party systems. They work with our US-based managers and developers to scope out the specific requirements for any given integration.

What is the team composition?

We work with 10 developers and 6 to 7 testers.

How did you come to work with Corevalue Services?

Our COO had a prior relationship with this vendor. I met with them to get a sense of what they could bring to the table. We brought a couple of developers on board and a good initial experience led us to grow the team.

How much have you invested with them?

Over time we've increased our investment, and have spent over $2 million over the course of our engagement.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started in January 2014 and the work is ongoing.

**The Review** — Feb 6, 2018

**Feedback Summary**: There was never a need to micromanage with Avenga (formerly Solidbrain) because they took initiative throughout the collaboration. They were organized and engaged, and they delivered milestones in a timely manner. They quickly resolved any bugs in the system and stayed on budget, ensuring this project easily progressed.
""If I could start the project from the beginning, I would pretty much do it the same way."
"

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m a project manager for an international company that develops robotics, electrical equipment, and automation processes. I specifically work in the department that delivers mobile solutions.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with Solidbrain?

We needed to improve the company’s user experience for booking rooms and all our offices around the world. The system needed to display room attributes such as Skype and video call compatibility, or flip chart and whiteboard access. Our current Outlook system didn’t have an inbuilt solution. Our business team approached us to build a solution to this problem and make our internal booking system better, which was a challenge for us because it wouldn't be a mobile system.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?

Our main goal was to develop a web and desktop Outlook application for a new room booking system. First, we introduced our business requirements and challenges during the project’s discovery phase. We had concept meetings with the stakeholders, who were introduced to them from the initial phase of the project. In addition to programming, they helped bring the concept to life. Our user interface designers cooperated with their team, and they helped us with development capabilities. They helped us design, develop, and implement the software as a plug-in for Outlook.

They helped us develop specific features for the system as well. We wanted a search feature that would allow any user to search for a room based on its attributes, name, and description. We also wanted users to be able to see the room’s characteristics such as its video conferencing capabilities, size, and space. We wanted a feature that allowed users to easily forward a meeting to another attendee and allow them to propose a room invitation. They integrated everything with Microsoft Exchange to store meeting and room details. They also added images to the system, so users could see a room before booking. They helped us speed up the system through a caching solution, making communication, UX, and results display faster on screen.

What is the team composition?

We primarily interfaced with the team leader, who served as our point of contact and represented their team. However, we also worked with a user interface designer, a developer, and a QA specialist.

How did you come to work with Solidbrain?

Before I joined the company two years ago, the company already had a history of collaborations with them. They were one of the teams selected for this project because they are our preferred vendor. They provided the estimates, and we decided working with them was a good choice.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started collaborating on concept designs for this project in July 2017, and we finished the system in January 2018. However, we have worked with them on a number of past projects.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

It’s still early to gauge the impact of the new system. It has been launched for a limited group of users in our Polish office, and if it proves to be a success, we will use it globally. Currently, I don't have any results from the initial pilot release. Throughout development, we encountered some bugs, but they were always discussed and tracked during our weekly check-ups. The final product was bug-free, and they were extremely efficient in tracking and eliminating system issues.

How did Solidbrain perform from a project management standpoint?

I had a communication rule; we had a meeting each Friday to review what was accomplished that week, and we also planned the work for the next week. I had one or two short calls weekly with their team leader to ensure they were on track and see if they needed anything from us. We didn't need to micromanage them or communicate with them all the time because they were organized.

I really enjoyed working with them because they had a lot of initiative. In the past, I have worked with developers that waited for tasks and specific commands. In contrast, Solidbrain provided those weekly demos and presented their results before I asked. We simply moved on to other iterations, so I really appreciated their energy.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They didn’t treat this as simply another project. They were truly engaged in the work.

Are there any areas they could improve?

Everything progressed smoothly, so I don't have any specific areas that could be improved. If I could start the project from the beginning, I would pretty much do it the same way.

**The Review** — Dec 12, 2017

**Feedback Summary**: Avenga (formerly Perfectial) is consistent, reliable, and communicates clearly. Experience in building healthcare technology gives Perfectial meaningful insight into how best to create your product.
"“Avenga (formerly Perfectial) has a comprehensive and effective workflow, which makes them a great partner.”
"

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m the founder and CEO of a startup software as a service [SaaS] company for prescription management.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with Perfectial?
I needed a firm that could bring my software idea to life. They needed to be familiar with developing SaaS that's secure, cloud-based, and able to be used by numerous stakeholders. Also, a lot of healthcare platforms are boring, and I wanted a company that could design a consumerism feel that was user-friendly for patients, healthcare professionals, pharmacy fulfillment companies, etc.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?
Before hiring Perfectial, I had wireframes build for the various pages and components of the software. I shared those with Perfectial to clearly explain the functionality of our software and how it will modernize and update prescription management in the U.S. Four stakeholders will have their own portal into the software, so we had to build out the components for each one of them and figure out how to interlink them all together.
Everyone will be able to log in and have access to manage a prescription, all the way to delivery. Patients and physicians will have profiles that are interoperable with an electronic health record and they’ll be able to communicate and process the entire prescription through our software system.
Besides the software, Perfectial also built our website. Perfectial was also instrumental in helping me develop the appropriate documents and diagrams for my patent.
What is the team composition?
We had a consistent team of seven people: a project manager, two backend and two frontend engineers, a UX/UI designer, and a quality assurance engineer.
How did you come to work with Perfectial?
I did a lot of research into SaaS development and found five different firms, but Perfectial rose to the top. I actually switched to a different company, and they met my needs, but I eventually returned to Perfectial because they were proactive and kept me informed on what stage the project was in.
The process we went through before even signing a contract was what really convinced me they’d be a great partner. They brought all the right people to our interviews, so they were able to clearly articulate what they could do for me and back it up with examples of their past work.
How much have you invested with them?
We’ve spent between $40,000–$70,000.
What is the status of this engagement?
We partnered in January and built the prototype by August. We’re still in the early stages of development, and now we’re testing the product with customers to get their feedback. We’ll continue to work with Perfectial to make iterative changes before we go live.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
Everyone who’s tested the software loves it. We still need to change some of the functions, but Perfectial has done a great job. The prescription process is highly fragmented and complex, and Perfectial has been instrumental in making sure we have a product that streamlines the process and is developed for specific stakeholders in mind.
How did Perfectial perform from a project management standpoint?
I worked with them on a weekly basis for about five months to get the product to where it is today.
We use JIRA and a couple of other software systems to manage communication, but we mainly use email.
What did you find most impressive about them?
I’m not very knowledgeable in the technology field, and Perfectial was great at helping me understand some of the more intricate aspects of this work. They can help someone who doesn’t have a lot of experience in software to understand the process and how things will be developed and accomplished.
I also appreciate that I’ve had the same team throughout this entire process. They’ve all helped me translate my ideas and feedback into meaningful output as it relates to the software. Perfectial has a comprehensive and effective workflow, which makes them a great partner.
Are there any areas they could improve?
I don’t have any issues with them.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Make sure you know what you want to build and achieve. Clear direction will let Perfectial be efficient and timely, and it will give you results you actually want.

**The Review** — Sep 21, 2017

**Feedback Summary**: Although few hard data were available, the CMS performed well and was delivered on schedule. Avenga's (formerly Solidbrain's) fast turnarounds, fluid management, and cost-effective pricing set them apart. Their commitment to the project was reflected in their ambitious, flexible schedules.
"“They’re new, young, and flexible—they don’t mind going the extra mile.”
"

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m an executive producer for a production company that specializes in websites, applications, experiential, project design, and all things digital. We usually work with marketing agencies or directly with clients. Aside from our U.K. office, we also have a branch in Poland.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with Solidbrain?

We were a bit short on backend developers.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?

They helped us build a content management system and a registration form for the website. Solidbrain used the Django framework.

What is the team dynamic?

There was just one developer, Max. I dealt with him and his boss, John [Managing Director, Solidbrain]. We had one person reviewing the code, and it was all good. Max was a junior level staff, but he performed very well. A backend tech lead also supervised his work.

How did you come to work with Solidbrain?

Our technical director is always looking for backend developers since they’re difficult to find these days. He knew about them and went to see them. We thought it would be good to try them out. Our resource in Poland asked them to perform a little backend task to help us evaluate what they could do. They seemed to have good standards, which is something we check when we interview people. We also prefer to work with a company that has more infrastructure.

How much have you invested with them?

We paid $5,000–$10,000 for their work.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started the project in August 2017, and we launched it in September 2017. We trust them, and we will use them again on different projects.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We don’t have access to the analytics, so we don’t know how well it’s performing. There isn’t really anything to see visually, so I can’t judge that. I know in the end that it worked.

Max was working in the background, so we couldn’t see how much he contributed to the project. He was managed by a more senior person and just did what he was asked to do. He didn’t have the opportunity to be proactive.

How did Solidbrain perform from a project management standpoint?

It was excellent. Communication was good. Compared to a lot of other companies, they were flexible.

John has been really easy to work with. As the project was coming to an end, we didn’t need Max as much. At the same time, I didn’t want to take any risk in releasing him too early. I asked John about it, and he told me they could put him on standby. During this period, we knew we could have him work on the project at any time. For the five days that Max was on standby, they only charged two days. That was the first time I had such a flexible team.

On top of that, they only charged for the hours they actually work. We agreed on 20 days for the project. In the end, they just used 12 because he was very efficient. They didn’t charge for the eight days left over.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Their flexibility is impressive. They actually care. It wasn’t just another job. They make sure they deliver. They’re new, young, and flexible—they don’t mind going the extra mile.

Are there any areas they could improve?

No. It was very short, so it’s difficult to have an idea of any issues. When Max was on standby, he was checking emails after hours. I sent him an email after 6:00 and an hour later, he replied.

Do you have any advice for potential clients?

Just try them out. We don’t enroll people based on what they say in interviews.

**The Review** — Sep 14, 2017

**Feedback Summary**: Assistance from Avenga (formerly Solidbrain) was crucial to finishing the app before the deadline and attracting the 1,000-download mark. The agency impressed with their reliable daily deliveries, responsive communication, and willingness to adapt their standard approach to suit the project's needs.
"“It was a really good engagement. I was really happy with them.”"

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.

I was the technical lead for a company’s Master Data development team. I led the teams doing the delivery using different technologies.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with Solidbrain?

We wanted to deliver a mobile application that would allow us to maintain our user data in a convenient way. Previously, we’d delivered the first two releases of the mobile application with our internal team, but we needed more resources to prepare the next releases.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?

Their only contribution was in the development area. Our company had specific requirements, and Solidbrain delivered. They also proposed some changes based on their experience with mobile applications. We put some of those into our scope, and it was finally developed.

It took 2–3 weeks from the time we began discussing their involvement to actually starting the work. We implemented using Scrum and assigned new tasks to Solidbrain’s team member. It was screen to screen delivery.

What is the team dynamic?

We were assigned one mobile developer to support our internal team. We also had the support of his manager, but this was outside of the contract. This wasn’t a standard arrangement for them, as they would usually develop a mobile application from start to finish on their end, but Solidbrain was really flexible.

How did you come to work with Solidbrain?

Solidbrain was our development partner on previous projects.

How much have you invested in them?

It was comparable to what was available in the market.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working together in May 2017 for this project, and it was completed in June 2017 for one of our releases. Our cooperation is still pending.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Ultimately, they helped us deliver the app on time. Because it is an internal application, we don’t have measures for the external market. However, we have crossed 1,000 downloads shortly, which is a good start to meet our ambitious agreed key performance indicator in this area.

How did Solidbrain perform from a project management standpoint?

Most of the testing and project management was done by our team. Solidbrain introduced us to HockeyApp, which was nice. I could see as they uploaded the test version every day. As we worked in Scrum, the requirements were not specified fully at the beginning. We were specifying from screen to screen, and they delivered what we asked on time and within budget.

We had direct contact with the developer through Slack. We also communicated via Skype, email, and phone when needed. As the tech lead, I spoke to him when a decision needed to be made, which was every couple of days. The developers from our team were in constant contact with him to align their activities.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Solidbrain’s flexibility was impressive. The process of getting additional resources can be challenging and can take a long time, but their cooperation started really fast. The other part was that they provided us with daily delivery, which was quite important because I was able to see our progress.

Are there any areas they could improve?

I have nothing to share at this point.

**Feedback Summary**: The application received very positive feedback from customers and the stakeholder. Avenga (formerly Solidbrain) handled all project development and ensured a smooth collaboration. The app may be distributed globally after the strong success from the initial rollout.
""Avenga (formerly Solidbrain) is reliable, engaged and willing to go the extra mile, if necessary."
"

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.

I am a manager in a department working on mobile applications. We do a lot of work using vendors, partners, and contractors. We work on internal applications for multiple industries.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with Solidbrain?

We were addressing a Xamarin mobile app which would assist the service people and customers of a big global company. First and foremost, we wanted to deliver an application which would be nice and easy to use by the people working in the service. We wanted to wow customers, showing them that it was an up-to-date technology. This had to be done on a tight schedule, with the deadline being an industry event where it would be presented.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?

We had previously worked with Solidbrain. We have known each other for some time. For this project, the customer came to us with a tight deadline, and we were looking for external help. We involved Solidbrain from the beginning. They were in on discussions with the end-customer; they took some of the functional analysis to them. They employed an agile and flexible way of working, both with us and with the customer, in order to deliver a high-quality product. The graphic design was done by my team, while the whole feature implementation and programming work was done by Solidbrain.

What is the team dynamic?

We had a single point of contact, the team leader, who handled the project well. I believe there were 2 developers engaged, there were some direct interactions between them and my design team. Everything went well in terms of communication, and I didn’t have to be engaged. I only looked at results and reviews; there was positive feedback from both the customer and my team about the implementation. Our agreement properly estimated the amount of work neccessary.

We were able to manage the budget well, and Solidbrain managed the workload from beginning to end. They were certainly able to deliver all requested features inside of this budget. I didn’t interact with Solidbrain very often, but they had regular demos with my architect, design team, and stakeholder, either weekly or biweekly, depending on the size of the project. I would say this was a classic iterative development.

How did you come to work with Solidbrain?

The beginning was basically a time-and-materials-based. We couldn’t get the headcount on our own. This was years ago, so I wasn’t part of the selection process. When I joined the department, there was already a working relationship in place between my company and Solidbrain.

We refined it for my specific department needs. Initially, we had a chance to discuss our needs and how they could help us. On a consistent basis, we’ve been liaising people from them in order to broaden our teams. We have also asked them to deliver whole projects, assigning more responsibility to them, as in this case. We have a good relationship right now, and our long-term collaboration gave us a head start. It allowed us to be agile without having to cut our hands with legal written agreements. This project showed that Solidbrain was flexible and willing to meet our expectations. They were eager to deliver a project up to our standards.

How much have you invested with them?

The budget for this project was around $30,000. It’s medium-sized, relative to the mobile apps we’ve developed.

What is the status of this engagement?

The whole delivery process lasted for 2 months. It started with an initial conversation, and we had some small change requests after the delivery. A fast delivery was quite important in this case, given that the deadline was set by an industry event. The conversation started in April 2017, and the project was completed at the beginning of June.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

This question would best be answered by our customer, the owner of the app. We create mobile apps for customers, who then promote and use them. We received very positive feedback after the event from the stakeholder, who was very happy about the app. They also came to us with a consideration for the next level of the product. This app was specifically targeted at the Asian market, and they might consider a global rollout in the next month, based on the feedback.

How did Solidbrain perform from a project management standpoint?

They were able to highlight any risks, and gave us a heads-up if there were any problems on the horizon. Fortunately, none of those risks materialized, but I had full trust in the management, in the event anything could go wrong. Everything was delivered on time and within budget, which is a big recommendation in IT.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They were able to manage small things and general communication well, so that I didn’t have to be engaged at all. Usually, there are some discussions, decisions or escalations for the projects being done in my department. There may not be anything specifically bad, but there is a need for management and attention. In this case, the project was managed at a level which didn’t involve me almost at all. We could see the kudos coming from the customer afterwards, so I was happy that the collaboration was so smooth.

Are there any areas they could improve?

We had discussions about how we could improve our collaboration, but this is more on my department’s side. At the beginning of the project, there was a single point of contact on their team, but there wasn’t one on mine. We had 2-3 people interacting with Solidbrain for the first sprints. When it came to the rollout, we had this position filled, and one of the lessons learned was that it would be even easier for them if we’d have this person in place from the beginning. Solidbrain was willing to participate in feedback-gathering sessions, to check if everything was fine. I was keen on doing that.

Advice for prospective customers?

I can recommend them in every respect. Solidbrain is reliable, engaged and willing to go the extra mile, if necessary.

**The Review** — Aug 9, 2017

**Feedback Summary**: Avenga's (formerly Solidbrain's) professional approach, around-the-clock accessibility, and willingness to adapt on a moment’s notice helps them stand above other vendors in their region. While their prices may be somewhat higher, the long-term value-for-money return far outweighs the short-term cost.
""They way they’ve handled us as a client has been perfect."
"

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.

I am a technical lead for a digital production company, working mostly with advertising agencies on digital campaigns. I’m also responsible for recruitment and finding outsourcing partners in Poland specifically, but also elsewhere in Europe.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with Solidbrain?

We needed a backend developer and had been looking for people, but the lead time for finding someone was 1–2 workdays. We initially got in touch with Solidbrain on a Thursday, and they promised to find someone for us that could start the next Monday. We really appreciated it, as it was our biggest challenge.

Besides the short timeline, the project itself was quite easy. We definitely wanted a senior profile to avoid any issues.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?
The developer Solidbrain assigned was responsible for the entire backend of the project, which is a mobile-based endless runner game. The frontend mechanics are quite simple, but we needed a leaderboard mechanism on the backend, social sign-in (with Facebook specifically), and some custom sharing options. There is a functionality for checking whether the user is signed in or not, and Solidbrain also came up with a way of submitting a score to the leaderboard in case users are signed in, or otherwise throw an error.
In terms of score submission, since it’s easy to fake API calls from a browser, Solidbrain implemented an extra layer of security involving cryptography and providing a checksum hash in the request, which was then validated on the backend. Rather than ensuring that the app would not be hacked, this ensured that there was no real chance of requests being faked.
They devised different ways to retrieve the leaderboard, including sorting and returning the top results. There is an extra functionality for always including the user’s score in the top 20 positions of the leaderboard, no matter where they were actually positioned.
Solidbrain also created an internal script for exploiting the database’s CSV files. There will be a prize draw after the campaign, and for this, we needed to download the leaderboard and export it into a CSV file so that it could be handed over to the client for the actual draw to happen.
As I mentioned, there is also a bit of custom sharing. Everyone who submits a score to the leaderboard is given an ID for that score, and they can share a unique link to Facebook from which metadata is created and displayed on the platform. Facebook can display some custom copy for the user, showcasing their completion time. Solidbrain took care of all of this.
They developed in the Python Flask framework, specifically for the Google Cloud environment. Solidbrain didn’t truly design anything, but rather followed guidelines and handled implementation.
They joined the project when it was starting, and we didn’t use any other partners for it.
What is the team dynamic?
The overall team size was quite big, at least for our standards in working with freelancers and outsourced vendors. There are 23 members on our Slack channel, all of whom are involved.
In terms of development, we had one backend coder from Solidbrain, as well as a tech lead and 2 frontend developers on our side. We have another backend developer from Solidbrain for another project, but I’m not personally part of it.
We’ve also been in touch with a client manager from Solidbrain’s side, who organized all the paperwork and confirmed whether they could commit to it.
How did you come to work with Solidbrain?
We got to know one of Solidbrain’s developers during a conference in Poland. It was an informal contact, but that person saw one of our advertisements on Facebook saying that we were looking for a backend developer. He proposed that his bosses get in touch with us to see if they could potentially help.
We had the first conversation with him on a Thursday, and the second one was with his bosses the next day. The lead-in time was crazy since we had to start ASAP. Solidbrain seemed professional, and we knew that one developer, which gave us some reassurance. It was a leap of faith as well, but I’m happy we made the choice.
We tried to get in touch with individual freelancers, and there was one other provider based in Romania that we tried to contact. They agreed to take on the project even before we’d gotten in touch with Solidbrain, but they were quite slow to respond. The communication with Solidbrain was really smooth, so we decided to choose them to avoid any potential issues, keeping in mind that we really needed to start the following week.
How much have you invested with them?
The cost was around £50,000 [US $64,757].
What is the status of this engagement?
We started working with Solidbrain in July 2017. One of the projects is almost complete, while another is ongoing. It was a very short project, running for 3 weeks including QA [quality assurance].

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
The project is not live, so I don’t have any metrics yet. We’re finishing QA this week and it’s supposed to go live next week. We're still in discussions with the client, not based on the work, but rather on strategic elements around the campaign being launched. We’re debating whether it will be postponed for a few days.
How did Solidbrain perform from a project management standpoint?
Their developer became a part of our team. We did all of the project management, but the client representative from Solidbrain was very responsive. He’s been great in terms of organizing all the paperwork and getting the developer even before the paperwork was finished, given our crazy timelines. The way they’ve handled us as a client has been perfect.
The backend developer working with us was proactive, telling us we could contact him for any issues no matter what time it was, including weekends.
We contracted them for 3 weeks of work initially, but Solidbrain finished everything after 2 weeks. In the 3rd week, they remained available for potential bug fixes.
What did you find most impressive about them?
They are professional, and it’s clear that Solidbrain has done lots of projects. Different companies define seniority levels in different ways, but there’s no question that our developer is senior.
Also, they were very responsive and flexible. They allowed us to start working with the developer even before the paperwork was finished.
Are there any areas they could improve?
The work they did went smoothly, but they are quite expensive compared to others in the Polish market, even though their rates are lower than they are in the UK or US. If we had more time to choose from other suppliers, I’m sure we would’ve found at least a few providers of the same services at a much lower price. It’s difficult to say whether they would have been equally successful, however.
The rate was still acceptable because our company is UK-based, as are our clients. We had a bit of budget to allocate to this for this particular project, but it would normally be a problem.

**The Review** — Aug 4, 2017

**Feedback Summary**: Avenga's (formerly Core Value Inc's) stand-out Salesforce expertise and careful business analysis resulted in a successful workflow transformation. Their agile implementation of new technologies enables ongoing improvement at the speed of client ideas and at the standard of client specs, on time and at a reasonable cost.
""[W]e say, 'Hey, now we want to do this,' and they understand it and take care of it.""

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.

I am the director of information technology for Milrose Consultants, an expediting firm in New York City.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with CoreValue Services?

Our goal was to transform our entire business and project management functionality from an outdated application to something new and cloud-based that would relieve our reliance on old equipment and software, constant upgrades, etc. We had a previous vendor that worked on a whole other project, which turned out to be a total failure. Actually, before my time, this company spent about $1 million with another company trying to develop this application in something called Catalyst, which ended up failing.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?

We migrated an old proprietary software we were using for project management and project accounting to a Salesforce platform. We needed CoreValue Services to do all of the background programming and development for us.

CoreValue Services started by doing a full business analysis in which their team met with the different departments on our team. They had almost daily meetings with each department to determine what the actual workflow was, how they used the old application, and how they could migrate some of the processes to the new application. In some cases, if there were things that couldn’t be migrated, they could instead be improved, duplicated, or eliminated totally if they weren’t necessary. They basically helped us not only improve the workflow but also redo parts of the workflow in a better way.

In our proposal process, a bunch of people create proposals for our clients. They designed and built what we’ve called the Proposal Wizard. (This is within Salesforce Now, and Salesforce does not work this way.) It functons like a wizard that the user can go through step-by-step to build a proposal. It works kind of like TurboTax, where you go from screen to screen and it asks you questions. As you answer those questions, it creates the proposal for you. At the end, it sends the document to the client to be signed. With our input, they developed that to our specification.

What is the team dynamic?

The numbers vary. At one point, we started out with three developers and a couple of QA people. There were also some project managers who were working on documentation because during the whole process, we also had to document everything so that we even  had user manuals for the employees. We started out with a fairly large team plus the teams of people from our side. We even had to meet in person. At one point, they came here. A couple of our people actually went over to their place, which is in the Ukraine. The teams were pretty big. We are still continuing some things at this point with a much smaller team. I would say at one point, we had probably 8–10 people on their side. Now we’re probably down to maybe 2–3 actually. We interacted with multiple resources, but there was one point of contact that we dealt with. For instance, on our end, our project manager dealt with a project manager on their side. Then, in my role as the director of IT, I dealt with one of their lead developers. Each group probably had a point of contact. We spoke daily.

How did you come to work with CoreValue Services?

We selected them through a bid process. They provided not only the best price, but also the best plan/project term. They were able to do it the cheapest and the fastest, and they also seemed to have the best knowledge of Salesforce at that time. There were two other vendors at least that were competing against them. It seemed like some of the more local vendors that we spoke to at the time weren’t as familiar with Salesforce as we thought they would be or should be, considering how big Salesforce is.

How much have you invested with them?

Over $1.5 million.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working together in January or February 2013, and the work is ongoing.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Based on what they were able to help us accomplish, we have totally transformed our business for greater success because we are able to conduct it from a fully cloud-based perspective. We no longer have to rely on old equipment, old software, and things like that. Ransomware and other current security issues don’t really affect us at all, because our employees have the ability to work fully in the cloud from anywhere. Instead of having to sit at a computer and log in and then connect to an old database server and get documents, our employees can work from the office, from home, from an iPad, from vacation. That’s all due to our transformation and the work we did with CoreValue Services.

How did CoreValue Services perform from a project management standpoint?

Their performance was excellent and still is—we’re still continuing to make improvements and meet on a weekly basis to address changes that our employees ask for. We communicated in in-person meetings, through the JIRA ticketing system, and mainly via Skype.

What did you find most impressive about them?

The most impressive thing about CoreValue is their ability to pick up new technologies really quickly and get them working to our specifications. In addition to Salesforce, we’ve also picked up Drawloop for creating documents, Amazon Web Services for storing our files, and DocuSign for the electronic signatures required on our contracts and proposals. They have been able to pick up everything that we decide on. Like we say, “Hey, now we want to do this,” and they understand it and take care of it. Every day we decide there’s something new we want to do.

Are there any areas they could improve?

Some constructive criticism—I would say all developers do this: At times, things are more developed than they need to be. The thing is, if my job is creating code, I’m going to create code. If you need to correct that code, I’m going to create more code that corrects it. Sometimes you can look for and use things that are already created instead of implementing your own. Things like that, but it’s not a big deal.

Do you have any advice for someone who is looking to use their services?

Be involved. Don’t just hire them and have them do it. Be part of the process and work together.

**The Review** — Aug 3, 2017

**Feedback Summary**: The project was completed successfully, as well as on time and within the budget. From beginning to end, Avenga (formerly Solidbrain) was highly professional, and communication was seamless and easy.
""I was very happy with the work and would gladly work with them again."
"

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.

I was the lead developer for a company called vzaar, which is a London-based online video hosting platform.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with Solidbrain?

We had a lack of development resources, and also, relevant skills for that specific piece of work. The desk team at Vzaar was composed of ten developers, but they were only versed in Ruby. Because we had a public API, we needed to provide multiple SDKs [Software Development Kit] for our API. Our own team could develop some, but we outsourced the ones we couldn’t build to Solidbrain. At the end of the engagement, we wanted an SDK that accurately reflected our spec, and had great, if not full test coverage, and good documentation.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?

We gave them a very specific brief. While the Solidbrain developer built the PHP SDK for us, I was in parallel with him, building the Ruby SDK. The SDK was a pretty standard API wrapper. We wanted to make it much more user or developer-friendly. We also did a full re-build of our API, so when we moved to the newest version, we decided that instead of upgrading the existing SDKs we would do complete rewrites.

From the outset, we wanted a senior developer. Once they assigned the developer to us, for the second full week that he was on the project I went and worked with him in Poland for a week, where we did most of the run through of the spec. By that stage, the spec was pretty much done so that we could work through some of the more, relatively speaking, complex API endpoints. It was easier to explain things face-to-face rather than over the phone. During the project, we would speak every day.

How did you come to work with Solidbrain?

We found them based on a recommendation, because they’re based in Krakow, Poland. We had previously worked with a Krakow-based consultancy, and one of our remote developers was still living near Krakow.

How much have you invested with Solidbrain?

We invested about $6,500.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working together in May 2016 and the collaboration ended in June.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
Could you share any evidence that would demonstrate the productivity, quality of work, or the impact of the engagement?

It was a successful project—on time and on budget. I believe the number of support requests since the new SDKs have been generated has been very low. On all fronts, it was money well spent.

How did Solidbrain perform from a project management standpoint?

Everything was pretty spot on. I would estimate each ticket because I would have to do the same ticket myself in the SDK that I was personally building. We made the estimates pretty much the same given that there was a senior developer from Solidbrain building the other one. Given the system in place, we didn’t really need a project manager to be involved that much. It just involved coming up with a work breakdown. We had a good spec. Daily communication was on Slack, and occasionally we would have a voice call.

What did you find most impressive about Solidbrain?

I thought they were very professional. Especially when I got to the offices in Poland, it was a much bigger operation than I expected. They had taken over the old Google offices in Krakow. I forget exactly how many people they had working in the office, but it was probably about triple the number I had expected. The way that they handled my presence for that week was really good. So, apart from the good work the developer did, they were great. I would happily work with them again.

Are there any areas Solidbrain could improve?

No, nothing immediately comes to mind. I thought the prices they gave us were good and met our expectations, so we didn’t feel any need to negotiate it down. Overall, the whole engagement was fairly easy and smooth. There were no pain points, and I don’t have any criticism or constructive feedback for them.

Do you have any advice or recommendations for someone who is looking to potentially start a project with them?

It is not necessarily specific to Solidbrain, but I’ve found from working with remote developers that it is much more important to have developers whose English is strong, as opposed to those whose English is not, and their technical skills are very strong. If the communication is difficult, the whole collaboration becomes difficult. As such, my advice is to make sure that the communication is smooth and easy, and everything else will follow nicely. With Solidbrain, we made sure that the individuals they assigned were well versed in English. However, we also had a Polish individual on our team, so communication was never really an issue.

After early issues with team dynamics and code quality, they are now well integrated and write good, testable code, while always meeting deadlines.
"“Their QA team is very effective... [they] ask the right questions and are thoroughly entrenched in the details and edge cases.""

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.

Poppin is a startup disrupting the office furniture and supply space, helping other companies create inspiring workspaces. We started with colorful office supplies like staplers, pens, and notebooks, and have since launched a full range of modern furniture making our priorities more B2B-focused. . I am responsible for product management and technology, overseeing e the product management team, technology roadmap, maintaining our ERP and e-commerce systems, and spearheading all engineering projects.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with CoreValue Services?
The CoreValue team originally addressed our lack of an in-house development. They are now helping us in both bandwidth and functional knowledge in key business systems, particularly NetSuite.
CoreValue was our original technology team, before we had dedicated technology employees in-house. We needed help across the full span of technology, getting integrations setup, building out the website, and administering our ERP. When I joined the company almost three years ago, we had a product manager in New York who interfaced with the team of 13 engineers, QA, and project management at CoreValue.
We have a team in New York working directly with different business units, and the team at CoreValue extends the development efforts. They are subject matter experts in a lot of the systems we use, which are skills you can’t easily find in New York.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?
CoreValue picked up where the consultants who set up Poppin’s initial technology stack left off — that company provided a base implementation of our ERP and of our warehouse integration. CoreValue continued building out the ERP and warehouse integration to support the growth of the business. They also built data pipelines for our ERP and EDI providers.
Two years ago when we replatformed our website, some team members took Demandware certification courses to support that replatform. CoreValue augmented our team through the process to help us understand and translate our existing data into the new platform. They also helped train newly hired engineers in our NYC office during that time. CoreValue were pivotal in building out our middleware application. A lot of the initial development and support of this application was handled by that team.
In the last few years, the projects have varied but have been largely dedicated to our middleware application, which is a Java MySQL-based enterprise service bus, order management system, and database. It cleans and translates data between the different systems we have. They helped us expand our systems to support multiple warehouses, add additional warehouse integrations, and support order management. They’ve been our primary QA resource. They’ve helped with automation and manual testing which has been critical for our growth.
What is the team dynamic?
When we started we had 10 developers and three QA resources, and now we have three engineers, one QA, and a senior director level project manager. Our relationship has gotten closer over the years and they’ve really become an integrated part of our team.
We have a morning check-in where we talk as a team, each member goes through everything that is being worked on and we discuss items that need more information and areas we want to figure out how to approach.
The things we build are critical to our business, but it’s all done through a team effort. Often times features are handed off in the morning from Ukraine to New York, and in the evening from New York to Ukraine. We have an agile process and they’re very heavily integrated. We have technical meetings during the week where we share ideas, thoughts on improving our processes, or technology changes we want to make.
How did you come to work with CoreValue Services?
CoreValue were hired before I started at the company, but I know they had worked with our former CTO at a previous company.
What is the status of this engagement?
We have an ongoing relationship for staff augmentation, and we don’t plan to end our contract. We used 13 engineers for 2 and a half years and then five to six engineers for 2 and a half years.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
Their ERP knowledge is hugely important for us. There are many situations where something might go wrong, sometimes disrupting customer orders, where the CoreValue team is able to quickly jump in, identify, and fix issues. We’ve been unable to find local resources with those skillsets in New York.
The price point of their team compared to hiring out engineers in New York has allowed us to have three engineers remotely versus one in the city. We gain efficiency by having people working early in the morning, and the additional coverage of hours they work.
How did CoreValue Services perform from a project management standpoint?
At first, we had a traditional approach, with our PM at CoreValue giving the appropriate tasks to the appropriate engineers and making sure things got done. In the last two years, we have implemented JIRA and more strict process, so this is all done via tools. Now our NYC team handles the project management with oversight from the CoreValue project team. We have never had any issues with their project management, as it is very strong.
We use Google Hangouts or GChat for communication. Our QA team uses Skype for better screen share. Each night, we also email a highlight reel of what happened that day and anything that we want the team to touch on before the morning.
What did you find most impressive about them?
The majority of the features that we built have been built by CoreValue. They have been great at gaining a complete understanding of all of our infrastructure and being able to really get into complex problems and find solutions. The team is very hard working and they bring a lot of good perspective to the problems we are solving.
They have improved greatly over the last few years around the quality of the code being produced, the depth of knowledge in our domain, and openness to challenge us and to challenge each other to ensure we are putting forward the best solutions.
Their QA team is very effective, picking up new technologies and finding things that even I wouldn’t have found. They test with good detail and consistently ask the right questions and are thoroughly entrenched in the details and edge cases.
Are there any areas they could improve?
When I first started working with them, everyone was very quiet. Something we struggled with is making the team more comfortable so that they feel like a part of the company. The team originally developed with individual styles and did not write unit tests as part of their process. Once we had a team established in New York, we traveled and worked with the team to break through the communication barriers.

The 13 resources we started out with would just come in and do the work without asking questions, which doesn’t help us drive the business forward. The team was quiet and all communications was filtered through our project manager. Team members were not thinking about test coverage and code quality, only to get what we were asking for competed. In a modern development process, you really have to have that. Our code quality at the onset was not the best, but it’s greatly improved now. We had to set the standard and work towards it. Those issues go along with the industry from my experience. People want something and they want it quickly

That’s always a struggle when you outsource. However, now we have real conversations, and everyone each other personally and professionally so we feel like more of a team and are able to come up with different ideas and have two-sided conversations about features and approaches. They’re open to suggesting new technology and helping to drive our business, rather than feeling like they’re just doing project work for us.
Do you have any advice for potential clients?
I’ve recommended CoreValue a number of times to clients in New York. I would suggest working with CoreValue as well as any offshore team, treat them as a partner instead of throwing requirements over a wall and expecting something back. I would also recommend making the trip to Ukraine at the outset of any engagement. Meeting with the team members, establishing rapport, and setting clear expectations through discussion and pair programming will go a long way. For our team, it changed the dynamic, and led to open channels of communication for all members of the team.

**Feedback Summary**: Through Avenga's (formerly Core Value Inc's) reliable assistance, the combined group’s workflow soared, prompting a speedier delivery timeline and robust output quality. Their open communication, organized project management, and rapid scaling contributed to a productive partnership.
""All of their resources were top quality.""

**BACKGROUND**
Please describe your organization.

I was the CTO at M3, a startup company in South Florida servicing the health care cost-containment space. We offered multifaceted solutions such as a mobile app, CRM [customer relationship management], and IVR [interactive voice response] to give patients the most cost-effective care in their network. My responsibilities included the development of all our mobile applications and the systems that supported them.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What business challenge were you trying to address with CoreValue Services?

We were trying to solve several problems for a health care cost-containment application. We were supporting self-insured enterprises such as labor unions and trying to steer users to lower-cost providers or telemedicine options in their area.

Our biggest challenges were time constraints and lack of local talent, combined with an ever-changing set of business requirements from our internal team. We needed to make a flexible solution that could easily be modified for each client we on-boarded.

**SOLUTION**
Please describe the scope of their involvement in greater detail.

Online, CoreValue is basically our partner. They provided us with a complete mobile team including a project manager, a mobile developer, a QA analyst, and even a business analyst at certain points. They augmented our team and provided mobile expertise and development.

How did you come to work with CoreValue Services?

They were recommended to me by a friend who’d used them for other projects. I met Igor [President, CoreValue Services] before, and we’d struck up a friendship over the years. I’d been working with him on various projects. After talking to Igor, I felt that CoreValue would be a good fit for augmenting our team. At the time, I couldn’t staff my team quickly or cost-effectively. We had a tight schedule and needed skilled people with a short learning curve. CoreValue provided us with talented people in real-time, and they started pretty much immediately.

We worked on 3 separate projects together: 2 mobile projects using the same backend and 1 data project in parallel. We had 9 resources over the course of the project. I think we released the business analyst after we started the project and had all of the requirements in place. They provided really top-notch people for us.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working with them in March 2015.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
Could you share any statistics or metrics from this engagement?

We had an Agile project with no final checklist or deliverables. Basically, we were sprinting and burning down our backlog. I was pleased with the process and the product. At the end of the day, those are the only metrics that matter.

CoreValue was able to make a difference in our ability to deliver. They provided the right talent and thought leadership to help us make the right decisions as far as design and implementation.

How did CoreValue Services perform from a project management standpoint?

They were excellent. I basically delegated the responsibility of managing the project to our Scrum master, which worked really well. CoreValue was really part of my team, not a vendor. We coordinated through daily scrums, worked closely together, and kept open communication.

What distinguishes CoreValue Services from other providers?

All of their resources were top quality, and they really focused on delivery. I like to inject a lot of levity into the process, but sometimes they don’t always get my humor. They’re very serious people who’d prefer to focus on the requirements.

**The Review** — Jul 5, 2017

**Feedback Summary**: Avenga (formerly Core Value Inc) is consistent and flexible. Their contributions have allowed for business growth and ongoing innovation, and they can scale based on need. They've always been able to help problem-solve, and they’re proactive in communication. They’re highly reliable, responsive, and transparent.
""I’ve never encountered one scenario where they weren’t able to help or find a solution.""

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.

I am the SVP of marketing and sales operations for a tech and digital marketing staffing firm.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with Corevalue Services?

We are trying to continue to innovate our instance of Salesforce.com, as well as utilize their resources to enable a more stable team that can keep up with our changing demands for different cloud technologies.

The challenge was that we would always have a Salesforce.com admin, but because we didn’t have enough of a team, we weren’t able to retain them. So, utilizing Corevalue has enabled us to innovate our instance of Salesforce.com and the other technologies we use built on the force platform, so we can innovate further. We didn’t have enough budget to warrant hiring full-time developers, admins, and business analysts. Instead, we utilized them for offshore support as a managed service.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?

They’re developers, so it was pretty straightforward. We had a need to develop our Salesforce.com instance, and that’s what they do. We are able to troubleshoot with them. They also help us with our website hosting. They don’t host our website, but they troubleshoot if anything goes wrong from a technology standpoint. We have their expertise as a resource, and I’ve never encountered one scenario where they weren’t able to help or find a solution.

I don’t do the day-to-day with them any longer, so I don’t know the makeup of their team. I know we’ve got a nice-size team, with a main project manager on our account. From there, work gets delegated out, and it flexes up and down depending on our monthly needs. We interact with them daily.

How did you come to work with Corevalue Services?

I was not a part of that process. We’ve been utilizing them for at least 9 years now. I’ve been with this company for 9 years, but I took over the relationship probably 8 years ago. I think their tech skills, as well as their price, were factors in the selection process.

How much have you invested with Corevalue Services?

I’m not at liberty to talk about that.

What is the status of this engagement?

We’ve been partnering with them for nearly a decade, but I don’t know exactly when it started.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
Could you share any evidence that would demonstrate the productivity, quality of work, or the impact of the engagement?

We went from 1 office to 10, and the scalability needed there from a systems standpoint is quite robust. We’ve been able to constantly innovate and keep up with our growth as a result of partnering with them. Trying to retain a Salesforce anything, any title within the Salesforce ecosystem, is virtually impossible when it’s a one-man show. There’s far too much competition out there for them to get other jobs, as well as to work in an environment where they’re constantly learning and growing. So, our challenge, as an organization that needed Salesforce support, was to find a solution where we’d be able to work with them as the years progressed. That’s what we’ve been able to do as a result of partnering with them.

How did Corevalue Services perform from a project management standpoint?

They’re fantastic. The work is always delivered on time and within budget. If there’s ever a change to any timeline, they’re always very responsive and very proactive in letting us know. There have never been issues in not meeting deadlines or budgets without knowing about it.

What did you find most impressive about Corevalue Services?

It’s their ability to troubleshoot. There’s never been an issue where they weren’t able to solve the problem, or at least do their best to enable solving the issue. Whatever we encounter, they can handle it.

Are there any areas Corevalue Services could improve?

No. Partnering with them has changed our company’s life. I can’t tell you how much they’ve empowered us to be able to meet our different challenges and to really innovate around our go-to-market strategy as a result of partnering with them.

Do you have any advice for potential clients of theirs?

I’d say to just use them; just go for it. They’re great, so just test them to see what they can do.

VP Product, Online Video Hosting Platform
- Industry: Other industries

- Client size: 11-50 Employees
- Review Type: Phone Interview

**The Review** — May 9, 2017

**Feedback Summary**: So far, Avenga's (formerly Solidbrain's) work has been dependable and the team is easy to communicate with. The SDK’s they created allows users to access the software in their preferred language. The team delivers quality work on time and within budget.
""I think they were pretty good.... They started quickly and delivered fast."
"

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.

We are an online video hosting platform for people to use within their businesses. I’m the VP of product.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with Solidbrain?

We were looking to get some SDK’s [software development kits] built in languages outside of our in-house skillset.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?

They built on .NET and PHP. They were building some SDK libraries that our clients could use to plug into their preferred language, either PHP or .NET, as opposed to targeting our API directly. It makes life a lot easier for our clients. It’s a non-visual thing, just a development piece of work. We sent out some documentation, which they quoted against for the development work. It was built slightly ahead of the schedule they originally quoted.

It’s a tool for accessing the API, which gets you programmatic access to our software platform. The SDK libraries are on GitHub. Users need a subscription to our platform, and then the SDK’s allow them to access our platform. I wasn’t involved in deciding which developers at Solidbrain would do the work. I had an overview, and my team communicated directly with them.

How did you come to work with Solidbrain?

They may have been a recommendation from a contact of our head developer, but I can’t say for sure.

How much have you invested with Solidbrain?

I didn’t handle the budget, so I don’t know.

What is the status of this engagement?

The project ran from January to April of 2017. We will still work with them for ongoing, intermittent updates and for maintenance on the same project.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
Could you share any evidence that would demonstrate the productivity, quality of work, or the impact of the engagement?

At this stage, we’re in the middle of the rollout of surrounding features that accompany the SDK’s. We don’t have exciting metrics at this time. When reviewed, their work has been deemed to be pretty good. I’ve not had any negative reviews of them. Their communication has been pretty good as well. When anything needed to be worked out between the development teams or the management, it’s been very efficient and sensible.

How did Solidbrain perform from a project management standpoint?

I think they were pretty good. Their original quote was for a slightly conservative timeline, which meant that they were able to exceed expectations. They started quickly and delivered fast.

What did you find most impressive about Solidbrain?

I haven’t done enough work with them to comment on this.

### Mazda: Custom content distribution for car dealers
Client
Mazda started operating in Germany in 1972 and has transformed into a nationwide dealer and service partner network.
Challenge
Avenga’s teams in Cologne and Berlin were given the task of equipping partners from Mazda Motors Germany with easy-to-set-up dealer websites. For this purpose, Avenga extended a CMS via APIs so that it was able to combine three aspects: the frontend for the end consumer, the guided user interface for the dealers, and the central CMS access for Mazda Motors Germany. Now, dealers can independently create their services at any time and freely define the prices.
Solution
Avenga created an individual CMS solution with TYPO3 that provides full access to the page-based architecture. Content can be centrally created and distributed to all dealer’s pages. A PHP 7 and Typo3-based CMS with three dimensions as the backend of the new merchant’s sites. React Framework is used on the frontend side as the basis for a SPA.https://www.avenga.com/success/mazda/
